        Metagenomic Analysis of Fungal Communities Inhabiting the Fairy Ring Zone of Tricholoma matsutake

        Tricholoma matsutake, an ectomycorrhiza that has mutual relationships with the rootlet of Pinus denisflora, forms a fruiting body that serves as a valuable food in Asia. However, the artificial culture of this fungus has not been successful. Soil fungi, including T. matsutake, coexist with many other microorganisms and plants; therefore, complex microbial communities have an influence on the fruiting body formation of T. matsutake. Here, we report on the structures of fungal communities associated with the fairy ring of T. matsutake through the pyrosequencing method. Soil samples were collected inside the fairy ring zone, in the fairy ring zone, and outside the fairy ring zone. A total of 37,125 sequencing reads were obtained and 728 to 1,962 operational taxonomic units (OTUs) were observed in the sampling zones. The fairy ring zone had the lowest OTUs and the lowest fungal diversity of all sampling zones. The number of OTUs and fungal taxa inside and outside the fairy ring zone was, respectively, about 2 times and 1.5 times higher than the fairy ring. Taxonomic analysis showed that each sampling zone has different fungal communities. In particular, out of 209 genera total, 6 genera in the fairy ring zone, such as Hemimycena, were uniquely present and 31 genera, such as Mycena, Boletopsis, and Repetophragma, were specifically absent. The results of metagenomic analysis based on the pyrosequencing indicate a decrease of fungal communities in the fairy ring zone and changes of fungal communities depending on the fairy ring growth of T. matsutake.

        These people were wrongfully arrested, imprisoned and (in some cases tortured) by armed police, military and security forces as a part of the 4.3 Incident, without legitimate justification and without proper hearings or trial. It is essential theme that they spend their time in jail without doing any crime during the Jeju 4.3 Grand Tragedy. It is our second theme that they have suffered pains, trauma and lamentations from the Tragedy, then and now.       • 웹 온톨로지를 이용한 공급자와 판매자의 데이터 통합 모델

        정보통신의 발전은 경제 구조에 많은 변화를 가져왔으며, 향후에도 많은 변화를 예고하고 있다. 가장 대표적인 것은 경제 흐름의 근간이라 할 수 있는 유통의 변화이다. 이것은 통신망 위에 구축되는 가상의 공간에서 이루어지는 유통을 지칭하는 것으로, 빠른 속도로 발전하고 있다. 이러한 빠른 발전에도 상품데이터베이스를 구성하는 것에는 매우 불합리한 비효율성이 존재한다. 상품데이터베이스 구성의 가장 큰 비효율은 싸이트들이 개별의 데이터베이스를 구성한다는 것이다. 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해 시멘틱웹의 RDF(Resource Description Framework)언어를 이용하여 웹 온톨로지를 구성하여 공급자와 판매자간 상품 데이터를 공유하게 된다면, 전자상거래에서 상품데이터베이스 구성의 비효율성을 제거 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 RDF의 소개와 RDF 웹 온톨로지 편집기를 제작하고, 구성된 RDF를 참조하여 간단한 쇼핑몰을 구성하여 온톨로지를 통한 데이터의 효율적 상호운영성(Interoperability)을 증명하여, 현재 제안되고 있는 상품 카탈로그 분야의 발전에 기여하고자 한다. IT development has brought about many changes in an economic structure, and will bring about many changes in the future. The most representative thing is the change of distribution which is a basis of the economic flow. It means a distribution an a virtual space built through communication network. It has rapidly developed. However, building the product database by each site for numberless products is very unreasonable simple repeating process. To solve this problem, if the product data is shared between a supplier and seller through the web ontology by using the Semantic Web RDF (Resource Description Framework) language, an efficiency of e-commerce will be created. Accordingly, the study is intended to prove an efficient interoperability of data through ontology by introducing the RDF, fabricating the RDF web ontology editor, and building a simple shopping mall through organized RDF, and to contribute to a development of currently-proposed product catalog field.

      • 컴퓨터 작업 시 의자 등받이 위치가 근육 활성도에 미치는 영향

        이 연구는 컴퓨터 작업시 의자 등받이 위치가 근육활성도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 36명의 근골격에 문제가 없는 성인 남녀가 참가하였으며 대상자들은 등받이가 뒤에 있는 의자와 등받이가 없는 의자, 등받이가 앞에 있는 우리들 의자를 무작위로 배정하고 동일한 컴퓨터 작업을 실시하게 하였다. 실험 중, 표면근전도기를 사용하여 의자에 따른 위등세모근, 머리널판근 그리고 척주세움근의 근활성도 변화를 측정하였다. 이 연구의 결과를 종합해보면 등받이가 앞에 있는 의자는 허리 근육의 부담을 줄이지만 목근육에 부담이 늘어나고 등받이가 뒤에 있는 의자와 없는 의자는 허리근육에는 다소 무리가 가지만 목근육에는 부담이 덜하다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과로 환자의 증상에 다라 컴퓨터 작업을 하는 동안 의자 등받이의 위치를 조절하여 치료에 도움이 될 수 있다고 생각되어진다. Objective : In this study, we checked and observed people's change of body muscle and muscle activity who do computer work on different chairs. We set three kind of chairs which one is a stool and another one is the back is fixed, and the other one is the back is fixed in front of chair. Subject : Accounting for 36 health men and women, we divided these people to 3 groups and put them on the three cases(position 1, position 2, position 3). We measured muscle activity of upper trapezius, Splenius Cervics, Erector Spinae from the groups by using surface electromyogram system. Methods : The standard of the electromyogram was 'reference voluntary contraction', and we carried out 'one way anova' to compare muscle activity of three groups. Results : In position 1, reference voluntary contraction of upper trapezius muscle activity was 123.2821%, Splenius Cervics was 141.7526%, and Erector Spinae was 254.5233%. In position 2, reference voluntary contraction of upper trapezius muscle activity was 132.9395%, Splenius Cervics was 141.7526%, and Erector Spinae was 246.6540%. In position 3, reference voluntary contraction of upper trapezius muscle activity was 190.6487%, Splenius Cervics was 270.2332%, and Erector Spinae was 182.1021%. Both upper trapezius and Splenius Cervics muscle activity of position 3 group was higher than the others groups. In position 1 group, Erector Spinae muscle activity was hight than the other groups. And either was position 2 group's(p<0.05). Conclusion : Therefore the chair which is the back is fixed in front is more comfortable for waist muscle but it's not good for neck. And the other chairs are better in waist muscle but not in neck muscle. So far, when we do a computer work, it's prefer to sit on the group 1&2's chairs to reduce neck muscle's stress and sit on group 3's chair to reduce waist muscle's stress.

        Malignant hyperthermia is an inherited hypermetabolic syndrome, characterized by temperature elevation, muscle destruction, muscle rigidity, high oxygen consumption, and metabolic acidosis. It is usually triggered by anesthetic agents and neuromuscular relaxants. We present a case of malignant hyperthermia who developed rhabdomyolysis, acute renal failure, disseminated intravascular coagulopathy following an apparently uneventful general anesthesia. Anesthesia was induced with thiopental sodium and succinylcholine. He was successfully treated with dantrolene along with cardiopulmonary resuscitation and hemodialysis.       • Coupling copper and hydrogenated TiO<sub>2</sub> to bare TiO<sub>2</sub> structures for improved photocatalytic performance

        <P>Coupling of metals and hydrogenated TiO2 (HT) to bare TiO2 may improve synergistically the photocatalytic activity of TiO2 for pollutant decomposition. Herein, we address this issue by investigating the photocatalytic performances of Cu-loaded HT (CuHT)/bare TiO2 (CuHTT) heterojunction nanocomposites for the degradation of harmful n-butanol under simulated solar light illumination. CuHTT with a CuHT-to-TiO2 composition ratio of 0.1 showed a photocatalytic efficiency exceeding those of four reference photocatalysts, exhibiting the advantages of improved visible light absorption efficiency, charge carrier separation, and adsorption capacity. Increasing the CuHT-to-TiO2 ratio from 0.01 to 0.1 improved the photocatalytic efficiency of CuHTT, whereas a further increase to 0.9 resulted in a decreased photocatalytic efficiency. Moreover, the photocatalytic efficiency improved as relative humidity increased from 20% to 70%, decreasing upon its further increase to 95%. The efficiencies of n-butanol to CO2 conversion over CuHTT were lower than the corresponding decomposition efficiencies. Incompletely oxidized CO and three organic vapors (butanal, propanal, and 1-propanol) were determined as major intermediates. A possible mechanism for CuHTT-catalyzed photodegradation under simulated solar illumination was proposed.</P>

        Estrogenic Activity of Persistent Organic Pollutants and Parabens Based on the Stably Transfected Human Estrogen Receptor-α Transcriptional Activation Assay (OECD TG 455)

        Screening of estrogenic activity on dichloro diphenyl trichloroethane (DDT), dichloro diphenyl dichloro ethylene (DDE), dieldrin, heptachlor, aldrin, chlordane, lindane, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) and parabens was compared using Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) test guideline 455 (TG455). The estrogenic activity of DDT was 58,000-fold ($PC_{50}$, $1.67{\times}10^{-6}$ M) less than $17{\beta}$-estradiol($E_2$) ($PC_{50}$, $2.88{\times}10^{-11}$ M) but DDE, dieldrin, heptachlor, aldrin, chlordane, lindane and PBDE did not show any estrogenic activity in this assay system. In the case of paraben compounds, the rank of relative transcriptional activation (logRTA) was butyl paraben -1.63752 ($PC_{50}$, $1.25{\times}10^{-7}$ M) > isobutyl paraben -2.34008 ($PC_{50}$, $6.3{\times}10^{-7}$ M) > ethyl paraben -2.64016 ($PC_{50}$, $1.26{\times}10^{-6}$ M) > isopropyl paraben -2.73993 ($PC_{50}$, $1.58{\times}10^{-6}$ M) > propyl paraben -2.84164 ($PC_{50}$, $2.0{\times}10^{-6}$ M). Our data suggest that OECD test guideline TG455 may be useful as a screening tool for potential endocrine disruptors.

        Photodeposited-metal/CdS/ZnO heterostructures for solar photocatalytic hydrogen production under different conditions

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, photocatalytic hydrogen production over metal-incorporated CdS and ZnO (M/CdS/ZnO) nanocomposites under simulated solar light illumination was investigated. M/CdS/ZnO samples were synthesized by photodepositing a metal into CdS/ZnO powders. All photocatalysts showed increased hydrogen production with an increase in the light exposure time. The M/CdS/ZnO samples exhibited better hydrogen production yields than the CdS/ZnO nanocomposites, which in turn showed higher hydrogen production yields than pure ZnO did. The hydrogen production yields of the CdS/ZnO samples increased as the CdS/ZnO weight ratio increased from 0.01 to 0.10. However, they decreased with further increases in CdS loading, although the light absorption edges of the CdS/ZnO samples were further extended to the visible region. Pt/CdS/ZnO and Pd/CdS/ZnO exhibited similar hydrogen production yields, which were higher than the Ni/CdS/ZnO yield. The hydrogen production yield of Pt (0.5%)/CdS/ZnO was higher than that of Pt (0.1%)/CdS/ZnO. Notably, the hydrogen production yield of CdS/Pt/ZnO was lower than that of Pt/CdS/ZnO. Among three different electron donors (Na<SUB>2</SUB>S + Na<SUB>2</SUB>SO<SUB>3</SUB>, methanol, and lactic acid solutions), the Na<SUB>2</SUB>S + Na<SUB>2</SUB>SO<SUB>3</SUB> solution led to the highest hydrogen production yield. A tentative mechanism for photocatalytic hydrogen production over M/CdS/ZnO nanocomposites under solar light irradiation, using a Na<SUB>2</SUB>S + Na<SUB>2</SUB>SO<SUB>3</SUB> solution as an electron donor, was proposed.       • Efficient decontamination of textile industry wastewater using a photochemically stable <i>n</i>–<i>n</i> type CdSe/Ag<sub>3</sub>PO<sub>4</sub> heterostructured nanohybrid containing metallic Ag as a mediator

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>To address the environmental hazard posed by the discharge of textile industry wastewater, we combined <I>n</I>-type (CdSe) and <I>n</I>-type (Ag<SUB>3</SUB>PO<SUB>4</SUB>) visible-light-responsive semiconductors to produce a photochemically stable <I>n</I>–<I>n</I> type heterostructured nanohybrid comprising metallic Ag (CdSe/Ag/Ag<SUB>3</SUB>PO<SUB>4</SUB>, CAA) and employed this material as a catalyst for the decomposition of phenol and rhodamine B (RhB). The physicochemical properties of CAA and reference photocatalysts were investigated using instrumental techniques. Compared to individual Ag<SUB>3</SUB>PO<SUB>4</SUB> and CdSe, CAA showed an elevated photocatalytic decomposition efficiency for both target pollutants, which was mainly attributed to increased charge separation efficiency and explained by the operation of the Z-scheme reaction mechanism. Moreover, we probed the effects of initial pollutant concentration, AgNO<SUB>3</SUB>:NaH<SUB>2</SUB>PO<SUB>4</SUB> molar ratio, and the CdSe:Ag<SUB>3</SUB>PO<SUB>4</SUB> mass ratio of CAA on catalytic performance. Recycling tests revealed the high photochemical stability of CAA, which was ascribed to the prevention of Ag<SUB>3</SUB>PO<SUB>4</SUB> photoreduction by electrons.
