Objective : In this day and age with the increasing concern for health and skin aesthetics, there is a demand for comprehensive treatments that utilize the unique methods of Korean medicine for the primary purpose of enhancing physical and cosmetic health. Therefore, to promote the development of various aspects of Korean medicine skin aesthetics and dermatological treatment, the papers that have been published in the last 5 years are categorized and typified. Method : A total of 130 papers published between 2016 and 2020 were searched using "skin" as the search term. Among them, excluding 12 papers that were not related to skin, 118 papers were selected for the study. The papers were searched from the “Traditional Medicine Specialty Portal", and even if there was an overlap of one paper, it was repeatedly mentioned in various fields. ResuIt & Concision : 12 research papers, 5 clinical research papers, 24 case study papers, 46 experimental research papers, 2 comparative research papers, and 29 literature research papers. In the course of the data survey, studies related to atopic dermatitis were the most common. Korean medicine skin care is highly stable, with few side effects, good results, and easy methods. Therefore, Korean medicine skin cosmetology has been developed to meet the needs of many people for skin cosmetology.

Actinomycetes are an important source forbioactive secondary metabolites. Among them, the genusSalinispora is one of the first salt obligatory marine speciesworldwide and is typically found in various types ofsubstrates in tropical and subtropical marine environmentsincluding sediments and marine organisms. This genusproduces a wide range of chemical scaffolds and bioactivecompounds such as lomaiviticins, cyclomarins, rifamycins, salinaphthoquinones, and salinosporamides. This reviewarranged Salinispora derived secondary metabolites accordingto the three species that comprise the genus. Moreover,muta- and semi-synthesis analogs derived f

Objectives Our study aimed to present the distinctive correlates of formal thought disorder in patients with schizophrenia, using the Clinical Language Disorder Rating Scale (CLANG). Methods We compared clinical characteristics between schizophrenia patients with (n = 84) and without (n = 82) formal thought disorder. Psychometric scales including the CLANG, the Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS), the Young Mania Rating Scale (YMRS), the Calgery Depression Scale for Schizophrenia (CDSS) and the Word Fluency Test (WFT) were used. Results After adjusting the effects of age, sex and total scores on the BPRS, YMRS and WFT, the subjects with disorganized speech presented significantly higher score on the abnormal syntax (p = 0.009), lack of semantic association (p = 0.005), discourse failure (p < 0.0001), pragmatics disorder (p = 0.001), dysarthria (p < 0.0001), and paraphasic error (p = 0.005) items than those without formal thought disorder. With defining the mentioned item scores as covariates, binary logistic regression model predicted that discourse failure (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 5.88, p < 0.0001) and pragmatics disorder (aOR = 2.17, p = 0.04) were distinctive correlates of formal thought disorder in patients with schizophrenia. Conclusions This study conducted Clinician Rated Dimensions of Psychosis Symptom Severity (CRDPSS) and CLANG scales on 166 hospitalized schizophrenia patients to explore the sub-items of the CLANG scale independently related to formal thought disorders in schizophrenia patients. Discourse failure and pragmatics disorder might be used as the distinctive indexes for formal thought disorder in patients with schizophrenia.

Cardiac regeneration with adult stem-cell (ASC) therapy is a promising field to address advanced cardiovascular diseases. In addition, extracellular vesicles (EVs) from ASCs have been implicated in acting as paracrine factors to improve cardiac functions in ASC therapy. In our work, we isolated human cardiac mesenchymal stromal cells (h-CMSCs) by means of three-dimensional organ culture (3D culture) during ex vivo expansion of cardiac tissue, to compare the functional efficacy with human bone-marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells (h-BM-MSCs), one of the actively studied ASCs. We characterized the h-CMSCs as CD90low, c-kitnegative, CD105positive phenotype and these cells express NANOG, SOX2, and GATA4. To identify the more effective type of EVs for angiogenesis among the different sources of ASCs, we isolated EVs which were derived from CMSCs with either normoxic or hypoxic condition and BM-MSCs. Our in vitro tube-formation results demonstrated that the angiogenic effects of EVs from hypoxia-treated CMSCs (CMSC-Hpx EVs) were greater than the well-known effects of EVs from BM-MSCs (BM-MSC EVs), and these were even comparable to human vascular endothelial growth factor (hVEGF), a potent angiogenic factor. Therefore, we present here that CD90lowc-kitnegativeCD105positive CMSCs under hypoxic conditions secrete functionally superior EVs for in vitro angiogenesis. Our findings will allow more insights on understanding myocardial repair. [BMB Reports 2020; 53(2): 118-123]
Association of Mahogany/Attractin Gene (ATRN) with Porcine Growth and Fat
Kim, Jong Bok,Zeng, Zhao Xun,Nam, Yu Jin,Kim, Younyoung,Yang, Shi Liu,Wu, Xiaolin,Lee, Chaeyoung Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2005 Animal Bioscience Vol.18 No.10
Associations of restriction fragment length polymorphism in porcine attractin (ATRN) gene with average daily gain (ADG), live weight (LWT) and back fat thickness (BFT) were studied with one exotic composition population (Xianghuang) and three local breeds (Ningxing, Shaziling and Daweizi) in China. Two types of alleles were detected; one with the band size of 700 bp (A) and the other with the band size of 450 and 250 bp (B), and their genotypes were classified as AA, AB and BB. Polymorphisms were observed in the exotic breed, but not in the three local breeds. Individuals with the genotype BB showed larger ADG and LWT than those with AA in Xianghuang population (p<0.05). The breed specific effects of the porcine attractin gene in this study implied that identification of the polymorphisms and determination of genetic effects on phenotypes should be performed in the target populations.
