        치아회분과 석고혼합제재 매식과 자가골 동시 이식후 치유과정에 관한 실험적 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of adding autogenous bone to the toothash-plaster mixture in the healing process of bone. Full-thickness round osseous defects with the diameter of 20mm were made at the calvarial bone of adult dogs (n=19) bilaterally, which were thought to be critical size defect. The right defects were repaired with the toothash-plaster mixture plus autogenous bone (compressed volume 0.3cc) and the left defects with only toothash-plaster mixture. At 2-, 4-, 8-, 12- and 20- week after implantation, dogs were sacrificed and evaluated the osseous healing of bony defects clinically, radiographically, and microscopically. The results were as follows : 1. At the clinical observation, the wound healed very well without any problem except severe swelling in the early period after operation. Slight depression was recognized at the both sides when the portions of cranial defect were palpated. 2. There were statistically significant differences between toothash-plaster mixture groups and autogenous bone added groups at the same period, and among the groups in the bone density of the digital radiograms (P<0.001).There was a tendency that bone density was increasing with time. 3. In light microscopic examination, new bone formation was more active in the autogenous bone added groups than toothash-plaster mixture groups at the early period after mplantation but there is little difference at 20-week after implantation. 4. In fluorescent microscopic examination, the fluorescent band could be observed at the area of active bone formation and the band was more distinct in the autogenous bone added groups then toothash-plaster mixture groups. 5. In transmitted electron microscopic examination, organelles such as rER, Golgi complex and secretory granule and osteoblast were observed. In summary higher volume ratio of autogenous bone is needed to improve the bone healing in that there is little difference between toothash-plaster mixture group and autogenous bone added group at the 20-week after implantation in spite of new bone formation was more active in the autogenous bone added groups than toothash-plaster mixture groups at the early period after operation.

        In order to study the modification of desizing ofthepoly(ethylene terephthalate ) (PET) fabrics, low-temterature plasma(O₂)(LTP-O₂) has been irradiated on the PET grey fabrics under various conditions. The results obtained from this study were as follows; 1) The weight loss rates of the PET grey fabrics treated with LTP-O₂ showed an exponential relationship with irradiation time. 2) The desizing effect of PET grey fabrics treated with LTP-O₂ was improved; it was found that difference in desizing ratio did not appear in the specimen treated with LTP-O₂ and washed in either cold or hot water.

      • Hg₁-xMnxTe산화막의 홀효과에 관한 연구

        HClO₄(pH:2) 수용액에서 양극산화 방법으로 HgMnTe(HMT)의 표면에 산화막을 형성 시켰다. 산화막의 두께는 SEM으로 측정하였으며 10㎛였다. 전류-전압 특성곡선을 얻어 산화 피크 전압으로부터 HTeO₂?, TeO?, HHgO₂? 막이 형성되었음을 알 수 있었다. 산화시키지 않은 HMT와 HClO₄수용액에서 산화시킨 HMT에 대해 Hall전압 및 자기저항을 각각 측정하였다. 홀전압과 자기저항은 HMT보다 HMT산화막에서 더 컸으며 이것은 HHgO₂? 공격자가 홀의 역할을 하고, TeO₄? 산화막은 전하의 포획도를 낮게하기 때문으로 생각할 수 있다. Anodic oxidation processes on HgMnTe surface has been studied in standard aqueous HClO₄(pH:2) solution. The 10㎛ thickness of the anodic oxide layers was measured by SEM. The Composition of the anodic oxide layers are evaluated from current-voltage(I-V) characteristic of HgMnTe Oxidation. The layers are composed of mixed oxide. ??, TeO₄, and?? in HClO₄solution. Transport properties have been investigated in HMT oxide layer made in HClO₄solution and virgin HMT samples at 300K. Hall voltage and magnetoresistance are greater in oxide layer HMT than virgin HMT. As a result, we know that the vacancy of ??in an anodic oxide layer acts as hole and the resulting oxide ?? layer exhibit a reduced degree of charge trapping and increase magnetoresistance.

        In this work, we have used Aslamasov-Larkin(AL) theory for analyzing the resistive and electrical mechanism of as-grown and 8 hour O₂annealed Bi₂Sr₂Ca₁Cu₂O8+δ samples. Tc is 89K for as-grown sample and 83K for annealed sample. By fluctuation conductivity using AL theory. we have examined that as-grown sample had 3D transition in the wide critical region than for the annealed sample.

        비대칭 안모의 치험 2례

        Facial asymmetry can be most distressing for the young child and parents. It can cause functional problems as a result of malocclusion. Classification of facial asymmetry has not been yet well-organized because of its varieties on etiologic factors, involved sites and clinical expressions. Even though, we don’t know its causes definitely. It is generally believed that problems with aberrant pattern of condylar growth are related to facial asymmetry. This is a case report on surgical correction of the patients who had severe facial asymmetry. One patient was diagnosed as condylar hyperplasia and the other was diagnosed as a condylar hypoplasia related to trauma. We performed a simultaneous two-jaw surgery, condylar shaving, inferior border ostectomy of affected mandible in the former case, and a simultaneous two-jaw surgery, reverse-L osteotomy and alloplastic implantation with Biocoral in the latter case. The postoperative results of the two cases were excellent functionally and esthetically.

        This paper presents a novel technique to express 3D digital garment data as 2D vectorized graphic file format. The 3D garment mesh data, generated by 3D apparel CAD systems, were projected to 2D image plane, maintaining the triangular mesh and color information. The projected image was saved as scalable vectorized graphics (SVG) file format. Each triangle element comprised of three triangular components to express Gouraud shading. To preserve the in-plane continuous Gouraud shading, pseudo-Bernstein polynomial coefficient was adopted. The proposed method was compared with the results of conventional 2D raster-type images.

        <P>Recent progress in genetic manipulation of pigs designated for xenotransplantation ha6s shown considerable promise on xenograft survival in primates. However, genetic modification of multiple genes in donor pigs by knock-out and knock-in technologies, aiming to enhance immunological tolerance against transplanted organs in the recipients, has not been evaluated for health issues of donor pigs. We produced transgenic Massachusetts General Hospital piglets by knocking-out the α-1,3-galactosyltransferase (GT) gene and by simultaneously knocking-in an expression cassette containing five different human genes including, DAF, CD39, TFPI, C1 inhibitor (C1-INH), and TNFAIP3 (A20) [GT<SUP>−(DAF/CD39/TFPI/C1-INH/TNFAIP3)/+</SUP>] that are connected by 2A peptide cleavage sequences to release individual proteins from a single translational product. All five individual protein products were successfully produced as determined by western blotting of umbilical cords from the newborn transgenic pigs. Although gross observation and histological examination revealed no significant pathological abnormality in transgenic piglets, hematological examination found that the transgenic piglets had abnormally low numbers of platelets and WBCs, including neutrophils, eosinophils, basophils, and lymphocytes. However, transgenic piglets had similar numbers of RBC and values of parameters related to RBC compared to the control littermate piglets. These data suggest that transgenic expression of those human genes in pigs impaired hematopoiesis except for erythropoiesis. In conclusion, our data suggest that transgenic expression of up to five different genes can be efficiently achieved and provide the basis for determining optimal dosages of transgene expression and combinations of the transgenes to warrant production of transgenic donor pigs without health issues.</P><P><B>Electronic supplementary material</B></P><P>The online version of this article (doi:10.1007/s11248-016-9979-8) contains supplementary material, which is available to authorized users.</P>

        Ischemia-Related Changes in Galanin Expression in the Dentate Hilar Region after Transient Forebrain Ischemia in Gerbils

        <P>Although galanin (GAL) protects hippocampal neurons from ischemic damage, no study has examined ischemia-related changes in endogenous GAL in the hippocampal dentate gyrus. We investigated the chronological changes of GAL, well-known as the potassium channel opener, expression in the dentate gyrus at various times after 5 min of transient forebrain ischemia in gerbils. A few GAL-immunoreactive (IR) neurons were found in the polymorphic layer of the sham-operated group. Three hours after ischemia-reperfusion, the pattern of GAL immunoreactivity was similar to that of the sham-operated group and the number of GAL-IR neurons and immunoreactivity were highest 12 h after ischemic insult. At this time, GAL-IR neurons in the polymorphic layer showed strong GAL immunoreactivity. Thereafter, GAL-IR neurons and immunoreactivity significantly decreased in the dentate hilar region. Four days after ischemic insult, GAL-IR neurons were not detectable. In addition, the results of a Western blot study showed a pattern of GAL expression similar to the immunohistochemical changes. GAL protein content also was highest 12 h after ischemia. In conclusion, the increased expression of endogenous GAL in the dentate gyrus after ischemia is related to response to the ischemic damage.</P>

      • Construction of a Dual-Fluorescence Reporter System to Monitor the Dynamic Progression of Pluripotent Cell Differentiation

        <P>Oct4 is a crucial germ line-specific transcription factor expressed in different pluripotent cells and downregulated in the process of differentiation. There are two conserved enhancers, called the distal enhancer (DE) and proximal enhancer (PE), in the 5′ upstream regulatory sequences (URSs) of the mouse<I> Oct4</I> gene, which were demonstrated to control<I> Oct4</I> expression independently in embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and epiblast stem cells (EpiSCs). We analyzed the URSs of the pig<I> Oct4</I> and identified two similar enhancers that were highly consistent with the mouse DE and PE. A dual-fluorescence reporter was later constructed by combining a DE-free-<I>Oct4</I>-promoter-driven EGFP reporter cassette with a PE-free-<I>Oct4</I>-promoter-driven mCherry reporter cassette. Then, it was tested in a mouse ESC-like cell line (F9) and a mouse EpiSC-like cell line (P19) before it is formally used for pig. As a result, a higher red fluorescence was observed in F9 cells, while green fluorescence was primarily detected in P19 cells. This fluorescence expression pattern in the two cell lines was consistent with that in the early naïve pluripotent state and late primed pluripotent state during differentiation of mouse ESCs. Hence, this reporter system will be a convenient tool for screening out ESC-like naïve pluripotent stem cells from other metastable state cells in a heterogenous population.</P>
