In this study was the stoker incinerator system with SNCR(Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction). While this system was favored with the view of the possibility of the reducing waste volume and recovery of waste heat, it also has a disadvantage, that is, the need for the second to treat dust, HCl, CO, etc. So far, even though a great deal of research had been done, the study on heat-flow analysis with reduction model and NO reduction with SNCR had not been investigated enough. The temperature distribution in the system and excess amount of oxygen influence the efficiency of NO reduction, resolution in the production, resolution in the production of NO at 1700K and the temperature range of 1200-1250K when the highest NOx reduction efficiency occurred. Hence, this study was focused to flow mixing pattern and NOx reduction efficiency as the flue gas velocity, NH3 injection velocity, particle size and particle density.
Appetite Suppressor Induced Psychosis

Amphetamine analogues are widely prescribed for the treatment of obesity; their therapeutic mechanisms are appetite suppression and sympathomimetic effects. However, due to their structural similarities to amphetamine, patients who take appetite suppressants may experience psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations or paranoid mental states. We report on a patient who had been taking the appetite suppressant, phentermine for 2 years and experienced a sudden onset of psychotic symptoms. She had no past history of psychiatric treatment and no familial history of psychiatric illness. She experienced continuous auditory hallucinations and paranoid delusions, without disordered thinking, and significant negative symptoms. She stopped taking medication immediately following the onset of symptoms, which lasted for about 10 days thereafter. This case illustrates that phentermine,the most commonly prescribed appetite suppressant, can cause psychotic symptoms; warnings about these possible side effects should be made explicit to all those considering the use of appetite suppressants.
PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS FOR H.264 VIDEO CODING

The international video coding standard H.264 / MPEG-4 part 10 aims at having significant improvements in coding efficiency, and error robustness in comparison with the previous standards such as MPEG-2, H.263, MPEG-4 part 2. This paper presents the performance comparison among the video coding algorithms. The performance comparisons show that H.264 can achieve a coding efficiency improvement of about 1.5 times or greater for each test sequence related to multimedia, SDTV and HDTV.
Measurement of Indoor Air Quality for Ventilation with the Existence of Occupants in Schools

This paper evaluates the performance of ventilation for the removal of indoor pollutants as a function of ventilation rate and the number of occupants in a test room and school classroom. An experimental apparatus consists of a test room, a tracer gas supply system, a gas detector, and a fan for ventilation air supply with a controller. The ventilation performance is evaluated in a step-down method based on ASTM Standard E741-83 using CO2 gas as a tracer gas in the test room of 35 m3. For the ventilation air flow rate of 1.0 ACH, a recommended ventilation flow rate of Korea school standard for acceptable indoor air quality in the case of one person, CO2 gas concentration decreases up to 55% within 50 minutes without occupancy and increases up to 75% in the case of one occupant. Also indoor air quality at the school classroom is investigated experimentally.
Effect of Carboxymethyl Chitosan on Dog Dry Eye Model

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMC), on dog dry eye model induced by topical application of benzalkonium chloride (BAC). Fifteen healthy adult male Beagle dogs were used and dry eye model was induced by instilling 0.4% BAC eye drops four times daily for 4 weeks. Sterile distilled water (control group), artificial tears, and 0.5% CMC eye drops were applied from 2 weeks to 4 weeks after 0.4% BAC eye drops application. Schirmer tear test, fluorescein, rose bengal staining were performed before and after BAC treatment. Hematoxylin-eosin, periodic acid Schiff (PAS), and immunohistochemical stainings were performed to evaluate general histopathology, number of goblet cells, patterns of TNF-a, poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) and caspase-3 expressions. Schirmer scores of CMC treated eye were significantly higher than control group on day 7, 10, 14 (p<0.05). Fluorescein scores were significantly decreased in CMC treated group compared with control group on day 3, 7, 10, and 14, and rose bengal staining scores were significantly lower in CMC treated group than in control group on day 7, 10, and 14 (p<0.05). In the histological examination, the thickness of damaged corneal and conjuctival epithelial layers and the number of goblet cells of the conjunctiva were markedly increased in CMC treated eyes. In addition, the numbers of inflammatory cells, TNF-a, caspase-3, and PARP positive cells were significantly reduced in CMC treated ocular surface tissues (p<0.05). The results of this study suggest that topical application of 0.5% CMC eye drops may have a beneficial effect on dog dry eye induced by 0.4% BAC topical application by regeneration of damaged ocular surface and alleviation of its inflammatory and apoptotic processes.
브레이징법에 의한 TiA1 금속간 화합물의 접합에 관한 연구

본 연구에서는 Al을 삽입금속으로 사용하여 브레이징법으로 접합한 TiAl 금속간화�물의 접합특성에 대하여 조사하였다. 삽입금속인 Al과 모재인 TiAl과의 반응에 의해 접합계면에서는 반응생성층으로서 경도가 모재보다 높고 취약한 TiAl₃가 형성되었으며, 접합온도가 600℃로 낮았거나 가열속도가 30K/min으로 너무 빠를 경우에는 반응생성층내에 void와 미소균열과 같은 접합결함이 존재하였다. 이와 같은 접합결함들은 700℃보다 높은 온도에서 접합하거나 가열속도를 10K/min보다 낮게 하여 접합한 경우에는 나타나지 않았다. 한편 접합체의 기계적 성질의 향상을 위하여 접합 후 Ar가스 분위기에서 열처리를 행한결과, 1300℃에서 3시간 동안 열처리를 했을 경우 모재와의 조성의 균일화가 완전히 이루어지지 않았으며 또한 반응생성층의 형태도 변화가 없었다. 그러나 1350℃에서 3시간 동안 열처리한 결과 조성의 균일화와 함께 반응생성층은 ??단상으로 변하였으며, 반응생성층의 미소경도는 층상조직인 모재의 미소경도보다 조금 낮게 나타났다. In this study, Joining properties of TiAl intermetallic compound bonded by brazing method using an insert metal of Al foil were investigated. A brittle reaction product layer. TiAl₃was formed at the joining interface and its microhardness was very higher than that of base metal. When the specimen was bonded at low temperature of 600℃ or with high heating rate of 30K/min respectively, joining defects like void and micro-crack were formed in the in the inside of reaction layer. These joining defects were disapeared when the speciment had been bonded at higher temperature than 700℃ or with lower heating rate than 10K/min. For the purpose of improving the mechanical properties of joints, effects of the post-bond heat treatment in Ar gas atmosphere on microstructure and hardness distribution of the bonded speciment were studied. When the joint was geat-treated at 1300℃ for 3 hr, homogenization of the compositions in the joining interface region was not achieved completely and morpholgy of the reaction product layer was still remained without morphological change. However, when the joint was heat-treated at 1350℃ for 3 hr, homogenization of the compositions in the joining interface region was achieved and the reaction product layer changed to γ single phase. And micro-vickers hardness of reaction layer region was slightly lower than that of base metal.
