온실재배와 노지재배한 금산 깻잎의 품질 특성과 향기성분

깻잎을 이용한 건강 식품을 개발하고자 먼저 깻잎의 주산지인 금산에서 5월 온실재배한 깻잎과 8월 노지재배한 깻잎들의 품질특성과 향기성분을 조사하였다. 시료깻잎 모두 4.0%의 조단백질과 0.8%의 조지방을 함유하고 있었고, 플라보노이드의 함량은 온실재배 깻잎 25.2%, 노지재배 깻잎 26.5%로 시료깻잎간에 큰 차이는 나타나지 않았으며 조사포닌 함량도 2,7%와 2,8%로 비슷하였다. 시료깻잎의 효소 활성은 오직 알칼리성 단백질 분해효소 활성만이 8월 노지재배 깻잎에서만 물 추출물 7.1 unit, 에탄올 추출불 11.8 unit을 보였고 기타 효소 활성은 없었다. 8월 노지재배 깻잎의 조직감 특성으로 먼저 견고성과 탄력성 등은 잎의 상층부와 중층부 보다 잎받침을 포함하는 하층부에서 높았고 응집성은 하층부가 약간 약하였으며 5월 온실재배 깻잎은 씹힘성이 다서 낮았을 뿐 노지재배 깻잎과 비슷하였다. 5월 온실재배와 8월 노지재배 깻잎에는 1-octen-3-ol, linalool, β-caryorhyllene, α-caryophyllene, α-famesene, perilla ketone, nerolidol, eugenol. α-cadinol 등 14종∼15종의 향기성분을 함유하고 있었고 주요한 향기성분은 perilla ketone 이었다. Quality and flavor compounds of perilla leaves cultivated in greenhouse(May) and field (August) in Geumsan province were investigated and compared. All perilla leaves contained 4.0% crude protein and 0.8% crude lipid. C겨de flavonoid contents of perilla leaves cultivated in greenhouse and field showed 25.2% and 26.5%, respectively and each crude saponin content was cultivated in field. Hardness and chewness of bottom parts of field-perilla leaves were higher than those of top and middle part, whereas the cohesiveness of top parts and middle parts of perilla leaves were higher than that of bottom part. Furthermore, texture properties of greenhouse-perilla leaves were similar with those of field-perilla leaves except chewness. Nine kind of flavor compounds such as 1-octen-3-ol, linalool, β-caryophyllene, α-caryophylene, α-franesene, perilla ketone, nerolidol, eugennl, α-cadinol were identified in greenhouse-perilla and field-perilla leaves, showing that main flavor compound was perilla ketone.

<P>2-Methoxyestradiol (2-ME) has been reported to have antiangiogenic and antitumor activity. Its biomedical application is limited due to its poor water solubility resulting in its low bioavailability. Poly(organophosphazenes) containing <SMALL>L</SMALL>-isoleucine ethyl ester, ethyl-2-(<I>O</I>-glycyl)lactate, and α慣-amino-ω?-methoxy-poly(ethylene glycol) 550 were synthesized having <I>M</I><SUB>W</SUB> of 35-??38 ??kDa and polydispersity index of 2.38-??2.73. Using a viscometer, the thermosensitivity useful for locally injectable drug delivery was verified. The aqueous polymer solution showed a sol state at a low temperature and transformed to a gel state at body temperature. The polymer solution (10 wt%) enhanced the solubility of 2-ME by about 10<SUP>4</SUP> times compared to that of phosphate buffered saline. 2-ME was released from the hydrogel mainly by diffusion, hydrophobic interaction, and surface erosion of the matrix. This release profile could be confirmed through an <I>in vitro</I> release test as a function of polymers and the concentration of 2-ME in hydrogels. By monitoring tumor volume and CD31 immunohistochemical staining in mouse orthotopic breast tumor (MDA-MB-231) model, it was found that the hydrogel containing a relatively low concentration (15 ??mg/kg) of 2-ME showed the improved antitumor and antiangiogenic activity relative to the original formulation. This research suggests that the developed formulation of poly(organophosphazenes) may have injectable carrier potentials for 2-ME and other lipophilic drugs.</P>

저자들은 복강 내 종양 의심 환자에서 위궤양 천공에 의한 복강 내 농양을 진단하고 약물치료만으로 완치된 예를 경험하여 이를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Gastric ulcer perforation usually results in panperitonitis, which requires surgical treatment. A peritoneal abscess also can occur with gastric ulcer perforation, but it is not a common complication of peptic ulcer disease. Here, we report a peritoneal abscess that mimicked a tumor and was caused by a gastric ulcer and provide a literature review. A 57-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital for evaluation of an abdominal mass found in another hospital, with no signs of infection. She underwent a left lobectomy of the liver due to choledocholithiasis. Abdominal computed tomography (CT) revealed a heterogeneous mass attached to the antrum of the stomach. At endoscopy, we confirmed that the gastric ulcer at the antrum of the stomach caused the abscess. After 4 weeks of antibiotics and proton pump inhibitor treatment, she was cured. In a patient with abdominal pain and a peritoneal abscess of unknown cause, the possibility of peptic ulcer perforation should be considered. (Korean J Med 2011;81:89-92)
돼지의 Leptospira 속균(屬菌)에 대한 혈청항체조사(血淸抗體調査) -강원도(江原道) 지역(地域)을 중심(中心)으로-

This experiment was to investigate the Leptospiral antibody in the pigs with the serological test in two areas of Kangwondo from March to April. 1989. Twelve different living antigen (L. icterohaemorrhagiae, L. pomona, L. hardjo, L. australis, L. canicola, L. autumnalis, L. grippotyphosa, L. tarassovi, L. pyrogenes, L. bataviae, L. lai and L. ballum) of Leptospira interrogans was used for the serological test in the pigs. The blood sample of 280 pigs collected from the slaughter houses were detected by microscopic-agglutination test. The results were as follows: 1. Among the serum sample of 280 heads of the pigs, 6 heads of the swine (2.14%) were positive. 2. Among the positive sample of 6 heads, 3 heads of the swine (1.1%) showed the antibody of L. icterohaemorrhagiae, 2 heads of the swine (0.7%) showed the antibody of L. canicola, and 1 head of the swine (0.4%) showed the antibody of L. pomona. 3. The positive rate of Leptospira interrogans in the swine of Kangwondo appeared to be very low.
Exosomal PD-L1 promotes tumor growth through immune escape in non-small cell lung cancer

Programmed cell death protein-1/programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-1/PD-L1) pathway blockade is a promising new cancer therapy. Although PD-1/PD-L1 treatment has yielded clinical benefits in several types of cancer, further studies are required to clarify predictive biomarkers for drug efficacy and to understand the fundamental mechanism of PD-1/PD-L1 interaction between host and tumor cells. Here, we show that exosomes derived from lung cancer cells express PD-L1 and play a role in immune escape by reducing T-cell activity and promoting tumor growth. The abundance of PD-L1 on exosomes represented the quantity of PD-L1 expression on cell surfaces. Exosomes containing PD-L1 inhibited interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) secretion by Jurkat T cells. IFN-γ secretion was restored by PD-L1 knockout or masking on the exosomes. Both forced expression of PD-L1 on cells without PD-L1 and treatment with exosomes containing PD-L1 enhanced tumor growth in vivo. PD-L1 was present on exosomes isolated from the plasma of patients with non-small cell lung cancer, and its abundance in exosomes was correlated with PD-L1 positivity in tumor tissues. Exosomes can impair immune functions by reducing cytokine production and inducing apoptosis in CD8+ T cells. Our findings indicate that tumor-derived exosomes expressing PD-L1 may be an important mediator of tumor immune escape.
