최근 학령인구 감소로 인해 전국적으로 초등학교 통폐합이 진행되고 있다. 그러나 기존에는 P-median 기반의 가중거리 최소화에만 초점을 맞추고 있어 다양한 교육적·지역적 요인을 반영하지 못한다는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 서울특별시 종로구를 사례지역으로 선정하고 적정규모에 대한 제약조건을 반영한 Capacitated P-median Problem(CPMP) 모델을 활용하여 초등학교 통폐합 대상 선정방안을 제시하였다. 그 결과, 단순히 거리만을 고려한 기존 P-median 접근과 달리 CPMP 모델은 적정규모 조건을 만족시키면서도 평균 통학거리를 최소화하는 최적의 대안을 도출할 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 교육기회의 공간적 형평성을 제고하고 장기적인 학교운영의 지속 가능성을 높이는 초등학교 통폐합 의사결정의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Regional Income Convergence: Evidence from Panel Unit Root Tests

This paper investigates convergence of eleven regional incomes in Korea by employing a panel unit root test method proposed by Levin and Lin (1993). To test the robustness of the result, we rely on the method developed by Im, Pesaran, and Shin (1996) as well. Applying individual unit root test to income series of each region, we obtained mixed results such that only three out of eleven regional incomes converge. Panel unit root tests, however, reject the null hypothesis that all the Korean regional incomes do not converge. This empirical finding implies that, in a rapidly growing economy such as Korea, at least some regional incomes have tendency to converge to its own equilibrium level. This result is consistent with the prediction of neoclassical growth theory.

The aim of this study is to set a starting point from which to develop an alternative to the GDP system based on its limitations and the existing indices. We examine alternative indices of GDP among 11 international organizations, 10 OECD member countries and 4 cities, from a comparative perspective. The comparison is made based on three criteria: the backgrounds and aims, methodologies and components (sub-indicators) of each index. The results of the analysis show that each of the 25 indices has more than 1 objective among the 3: measuring the quality of life, pursuing sustainability, and presenting a vision and policy recommendations. Each index also differs in the methodology: some have a single indicator system, while others have a dashboard or a list of all sub-indicators. Lastly, components (sub-indicators) of the 25 indices are classified into universal and unique indicators. Based on the findings, we draw four implications for the development of an alternative to GDP. First, a new index needs to incorporate a time dimension for a sustainable economy and well-being in terms of its aims. Second, building a single indicator system is recommended to make it work as a signpost to a desirable future for human life in terms of a methodology. Third, non-economic activities creating social values need to be considered, such as housework, volunteer work and civic participation in terms of components. Fourth, it is necessary for a new index to measure both the objective and subjective aspects of welfare.

Although offsite construction (OSC) has emerged as a promising solution to low productivity issues in the construction industry, knowledge for effective management of OSC projects is yet to be explored and developed further. To enhance our understanding of the landscape of the current OSC management knowledge, this study identified and reviewed 83 operation-level OSC management papers. By mapping the papers on three dimensions (i.e. OSC project type, project phase, and management area), this review sheds light on the knowledge areas addressed more frequently than the other areas over time in a detailed manner. The review also shows that papers on planning, manufacturing, maintenance phases and schedule, resources, and stakeholder management areas have a relatively large number of citations, implying a great interest in these research areas. Finally, the review discusses that substantial research work is still required in the areas of OSC execution strategy, emerging technologies in offsite manufacturing and schedule management, internet of things (IoT)-based material logistics planning and tracking, building information model-based visualization and decision support, and social and environmental effects of stakeholder engagement in OSC projects.

1985!~2008년 동안 한국 내 11개 지역의 일인당 지역내총생산 자료를 이용하여 지역소득의 수렴 여부를 검증한 결과 수렴현상을 발견할 수 없었다. 외환위기이후 β-수렴속도는 크게 둔화되었으며 δ-수렴현상도 약화되어 최근 들어 한국의 지역소득은 수렴하지 않는다고 볼 수 있다. 시계열 분석법을 이용하여 검증한 결과도 마찬가지로 지역소득의 수렴현상을 발견할 수 없다. 특히, 지역소득 사이의 상환성을 고려하기 위해 Bai and Nag(2004)이 제안한 PANIC방법을 이용하여 각 지역소득을 공통부분과 고유부분으로 분리한 후 각 부분의 정상성(sationarity)을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 공통부분은 비정상적인 반면 고유부분은 정상적으로 나타나서 지역소득의 수렴현상이 나타나지 않은 이유가 공통부분의 비정상성 때문임을 밝힐 수 있었다. Using eleven regional income data for 1958-2008, we investigate whether regional incomes converge in Korea. The estimated β-convergence and δ-convergence suggest that regional incomes tend to diverge after the currency crisis. We also fail to find evidence for convergence from time-series analysis results. Applying Bai and Ng(2004)’s PANIC method, we find that regional incomes in Korea do not converge because of non-stationarity of common parts of incomes.
Noise Evaluation Considering the Uncertainty Variation According to Frequency

In the evaluation of measured noise data, tolerance shall be decided based on the uncertainty. The uncertainty has frequency variations due to the different standard deviations at each frequency. Therefore, tolerance shall be differently decided for each frequency with the same confidence probability. In the report, the evaluation method considering the frequency variation of uncertainty will be introduced. From the approach, considering the actual noise distribution characteristics of the ships, the tolerance shall be decided for each frequency with the same probability, but the overall averaged value shall be kept to the value designated in each notation.
무선네트워크 환경에서 효율적인 스트리밍 서비스를 위한 Cross-Layer 기반의 TFRC 성능 향상 기법

최근 다양한 무선 접속 기술의 발달로 무선 인터넷을 통한 멀티미디어 스트리밍 서비스 사용이 증가하고 있다. 그러나, 무선 네트워크의 불안정한 채널 특성을 가지는 전송 지연과 손실을 발생시키고, 결과적으로 사용자의 서비스 품질 (QoS)을 저하시킨다. 이에 따라 무선 네트워크에서 멀티미디어 스트리밍서비스의 품질을 향상시키기 위한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이 중 신뢰성 있는 데이터 전송을 위해 사용되는 기법인 ARQ (Automatic Repeat reQuest)는 레이어2에서 무선 채널 에러로 인해 손실된 패킷을 재전송을 통해 복구한다. 그러나, 레이어2의 재전송 기법으로 인해 증가한 RTT (Round Trip Time)값을 TFRC(TCP Friendly Rate Control)의 전송률 조절 공식에 적용할 경우 TFRC의 전송 성능이 저하되는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 무선 네트워크에서 TFRC의 전송 성능을 향상시키기 위해, Cross-Layer 기반의 새로운 RTT 측정 기법인 TFRC-NR (TFRC with New RTT)를 제안하였다. 제안한 TFRC-NR 기법은 레이어2의 재전송 기법으로 인해 증가된 지연 시간을 TFRC 송신단에서 측정된 RTT값에서 보정한다. 실험을 통해 무선 네트워크에서 제안한 기법을 적용한 TFRC의 전송 성능이 향상됨을 확인하였다.

<P>Biointegrated electronics have been investigated for various healthcare applications which can introduce biomedical systems into the human body. Silicon-based semiconductors perform significant roles of nerve stimulation, signal analysis, and wireless communication in implantable electronics. However, the current large-scale integration (LSI) chips have limitations in <I>in vivo</I> devices due to their rigid and bulky properties. This paper describes <I>in vivo</I> ultrathin silicon-based liquid crystal polymer (LCP) monolithically encapsulated flexible radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs) for medical wireless communication. The mechanical stability of the LCP encapsulation is supported by finite element analysis simulation. <I>In vivo</I> electrical reliability and bioaffinity of the LCP monoencapsulated RFIC devices are confirmed in rats. <I>In vitro</I> accelerated soak tests are performed with Arrhenius method to estimate the lifetime of LCP monoencapsulated RFICs in a live body.
