        Multi‑tissue lipotoxicity caused by high‑fat diet feeding is attenuated by the supplementation of Korean red ginseng in mice

        Background Excessive intake of fat, one of the causes of obesity, is associated with low-grade infammation in various susceptible organs and eventually causes tissue toxicity. This study examines the multifaceted suppressive efects of Korean red ginseng extract (KRG) on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced lipotoxicity and infammatory responses in the aorta, liver, and brain. Methods Male C57BL/6 mice were fed HFD with or without KRG for 12 weeks. The improvement efect in KRG on lipotoxicity and infammatory potential was determined in the blood and the aorta, liver, and brain tissues. Results KRG signifcantly inhibited 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase activity by >20% in vitro. KRG supplementation suppressed HFD-associated body weight gain, lipid profle changes, and excessive fat deposition in the liver and increased leptin, insulin, and ALT levels in the blood. Infammatory markers in the aorta, liver, and brain were also signifcantly reduced by KRG treatment. In microvascular endothelial cells, the 15% cyclic stretch-mediated upregulation of ICAM-1 and vascular cell adhesion protein-1 (VCAM-1) expression was signifcantly attenuated in the presence of KRG. Conclusion KRG supplementation attenuates HFD-mediated body weight gain, lipid profle changes, and multi-tissue infammatory responses.

        대전문학사 서술의 현황과 전망

        본 논문은 지역문학의 정체성을 사유하고 한국문학사 속에서 대전문학이 갖는 의미를 고민하는 작업의 일환으로 대전문학사가 형성되는 그 기원의 지점을 탐색하고 있다. 이를 위해 기존의 지역문학 논의가 놓치고 있는 지역 문학사 기술과 관련된 다양한 담론들의 양상을 꼼꼼하게 점검하면서 해방공간을 중심으로 상이한 로컬 역사들이 서로 만나면서 충돌하고 있는 상황을 구체적으로 살펴보고 있다. 문학사는 엄격한 실증이 기초가 되어야 함에도 불구하고 그간의 대전문학사는 자료 수집의 곤란함이 야기한 실질적인 어려움과 연구자들의 실증적인 태도의 부재 등 여러 가지 이유로 인해 오류를 반복하고 재생산해왔다. 이 글은 지금까지 논의된 대전문학사 서술의 오류를 구체적 자료를 통해 점검하고 문학사 서술이 기억에 의존할 때 왜곡될 수밖에 없는 양상을 분석하여 다음의 결과를 도출하였다. 우선 대전문학사 서술에 있어 「향토」, 「동백」과 관련된 오류가 존재하고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한 기억과 망각이 맞물린 해방공간의 대전문학장이 이데올로기적 투쟁으로 얼룩져 좌익 성향의 잡지인 「현대」와 「신성」이 문학사에서 배제되어 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 「향토」?「동백」-「호서문학」으로 이어지는 순수문학의 흐름이 주된 경향으로 자리 잡은 기존의 대전문학사 서술에서 참여파 진보문인들의 목소리는 침묵당해 왔던 것이다. 대전문학사 서술의 오류를 지적하고, 해방기 진보적인 성향의 「현대」와 「신성」을 제외하고 만들어진 대전문학의 기원과 정체에 문제제기를 함으로써 소외되고 망각된 지역문학의 흐름을 복원해야 하는 필요성을 제시하고 있다는 점에서 본 논문의 의의를 찾을 수 있다. This paper aims to analyze the origin of the history of the local literature in Daejeon, especially focused on the liberation period for agonizing the meaning of Daejeon literature under the history of Korean literature. This paper examines diverse discourses about situations of the history of the local literature and different conditions of local history. Though the history of literature is based in the actual proof materials, the history of Daejeon literature has reproduced many errors because of troubles of data collection and non-positive attitudes of researchers. The results of this thesis are listed below. First, this paper found out description"s mistakes of the history of Daejeon literature specially in Hyangto(향토) and Dongback(동백). And the field of Daejeon literature on the liberation period was stained with an ideological conflict, therefore Hyundae(현대) and Sinsung(신성) which were left-wing literary magazines was totally excluded in the history of the local literature in Daejeon. Then the flow of history of Daejeon literature has become a tendency of pure literature in Hyangto(향토)-Dongback(동백)-Hosemunhak(호서문학). This paper has a literary significant meanings for finding errors in the history of Daejeon literature and raising the issue of identity and origin of it.

      • 저강도 펄스형 초음파를 이용한 개의 슬개골 탈구 치료 효과

        The effect of low-intensity ultrasonography on dislocation of the patella and fracture healing is controversial, and current management of that does not generally involve the use of ultrasound therapy. Nine patients with dislocation of the patella were treated with low-intensity ultrasonography(l5 mW/㎠, 1∼3.3 MHz) per 10-15 min/days, with an interval of 3 days during the last 3 weeks, at Family Animal Hospital(in Kunsan city). Ultrasound therapy may be beneficial to dislocation of the patella and healing. This finding is of considerable importance in that treatment with a low-intensity pulsed ultrasound signal may reduce healing time and could yield substantial cost savings and decreases in disability associated with delayed healing of dislocation of the patella.

      • 수평연속공정으로 주조된 회주물의 열처리 영향에 관한 연구

        This study was based on the examination of the microstructure depending on the heat-treatment temperature and cooling rate of the gray cast ion produced of fabricated by the horizontal continuous casting method, The heat-treatment were performed at 900, 1,000, and 1,100℃. for 1 hour, respectively, The cross sectional microstructures of the as-cast and the treated specimens were observed by the optical microscope and the hardness numbers were measured by Rockwell hardness tester. The type A and type B graphites were observed on the center of the as-cast specimen. The matrix of the specimen was ferrite structure. The dendrite structures and the type D graphites were formed at the outside of the matrix. The pearlite and the nodular graghite in the matrix were formed by the dissolution of the graphites according to the heat treatment temperature increase. The martensite structure was observed in case of water cooling. The pearlite structure and the martensite structure were formed in case of heat-treatment at 1,100℃. The hardness number of treated specimens with the pearlite and martensite matrix increased.

      • 급랭응고된 Nd-Fe-B 합금의 미세조직에 관한 연구

        To develop the Nd-Fe-B base permanent magnet materials, rapidly-solidified ribbon was made by melt spinning method. The main purpose of this paper was to investigate the microstructure of rapidly-solidified Nd-Fe-B alloy. During the solidification of rapidly-solidified ribbon, columnar structure at wheel contact area was developed and followed by cell structure at unstable planar interface due to the decrease of cooling rate. In some specimen, dendritic structure was observed between columnar and cell structure and volume fraction of the dendritic structure was a little. Grain size of melt-spun ribbon was about 200-500nm, The phase of the microstructure was mainly was mainly ?? and structure was observed at gain boundaries.

      • 자기조절 학습 수준과 웹에서의 학습자-자료 상호작용과의 관계 연구

        The purpose of this study is to examine the relation of level of self-regulated learning and learner-content interaction in Web-based instruction. Analysis on the difference of learner-content interaction result shows significant statistical differences between the level of self-regulated learning of amount of references, that of relevant references and achievement. This study shows that the levels of self-regulated learning in Web-based instruction are primary variables on learner-content interaction. Especially, the higher level self-regulated learning group shows more activities in learner-content interaction while the lower level self-regulated learning group shows less. So the Web-based instruction can provide the higher level self-regulated learning group with better environment. And, according to the fact that the higher self-regulated learning students have, the more students activate learner-content interaction, it suggest that teachers would design and present teaching-learning environment for students to use actively self-regulated learning.

      • 일부 응급구조과 학생과 간호과 학생의 안락사에 대한 태도조사 연구

        This descriptive study was conducted to identify the attitude toward euthanasia of EMT and nursing students and to compare their attitude before and after clinical practice. The convenience sample was comprised of 40 first grade and 40 second grade EMT students attended at G college in G-city, and 40 first grade and 40 third grade nursing students attended at C college in C-province. The variable was tested with an euthanasia attitude scale developed by Kim Ae Kyoung(2001). The valid responses were obtained and analyzed by using SPSS PC+ from November 25 to December 6.2002. The results showed that most of the respondents agreed to have positive attitude toward euthanasia in terms of client's right and client's quality of life. Also, they thought that euthanasia should be legalized and the right to die with dignity should be guaranteed. The EMT respondents having a clinical experience showed significantly higher score than respondents having no experience in the subarea of medical ethics and nursing respondents who had a clinical practice showed significantly higher score than others no experience in the subarea of quality of life. But, the other sub-areas had no significant difference between the respondents before and after clinical practice.

      • 급랭응고된 Al-Fe계 합금의 열안정성에 관한 연구

        The main purpose of this paper was to investigate the change of rapidly solidified microstructures and dispersoid behavior according to heat-treatment in Al-Fe-V-Si and Al-Fe- Cr-Y alloys. The rapidly solidified microstructure of the Al-Fe-V-Si alloy was microdendritic structure at wheel contact area and cell structure at air contact area. Subcell structure was observed in the Al-Fe-Cr-Y alloy. instead of tangled dislocation. (111) preferred orientation was formed at both alloys The main role of the other elements seems to alter the rapidly solidified microstructure and the kinetics of precipitataion in the aluminum alloys. Decomposition of the Al-Fe-V-Si alloy occurred at about 350℃. This alloy exhibited excellent thermal stability at elevated temperature. Thermal stability of the Al-Fe-Cr-Y alloy was less than that of the Al-Fe-Cr-Y alloy.

      • 급랭응고한 Mg-Zn-Ca-Si계 합금의 열안정성에 관한 연구

        Melt spinning process was used to prepare the rapidly solidified ribbons of Mg-6Zn-5Ca(wt%) alloys with 1, 2 wt% Si. In present work, SEM, EDS, XRD, and microhardness test were performed to investigate the characteristics of the ribbons. The microhardness of the ribbons according to Si content decreased slowly since the content of MgCaSi precipitates in air side of ribbons increased. The Mg-6Zn-5Ca-1Si melt-spin ribbon heat-treated at 150 ℃ and 1hr showed the maximum microhardness and then its microhardness decreased slowly above 150 ℃.For the ribbon of alloy with 2 wt% Si, its hardness increased up to 200℃ and then decreased rapidly. As the content of Si and the heat-treatment temperature increased, the content of MgCaSi formed initially in air side increased. The present result showed that the addition of Si to Mg-6Zn-5Ca alloys decreased the microhardness of the ribbons and did not improve them mechanically even after aging.
