        Phosphorus is the second most important nutrient for plants and microbes. In the present study we isolated 53 P-solubilizing strains from different regions of Chungbuk province Fifty three isolates were screened for their efficiency in iron, aluminum and calcium phosphate solubilization The examined isolates showed 438-1421 percent tricalcium phosphate, 035-139 percent aluminum phosphate, 035-495 percent iron phosphate solubilization Among P-solubilizing bacterial isolates HK 69, HK 14-1 and HK 20-1 were the most efficient iron, aluminium and calcium phosphate solubilization, respectively The efficiency of these bacteria also confirmed by modified media with pH indicator dye based on yellow color zone formation due to organic acid production The size of yellow zone directly correlated to the P-solubilization in liquid media.

      • Pseudomonas putida SM 25의 Catechol 1,2-Dioxygenase의 부분정제와 이에 의한 cis,cis-Muconic Acid의 생성

        Pseudomonas putida SM 25 로부터 catechol 1,2-dioxygenase를 ammonium sulfate precipitation, DEAE-sepharose A-50 CL-6B ion exchange chromatography, phenyl-sepharose CL-4B hydro-phobic chromatography 및 preparative gel permeation chromatography를 통해 정제배율 806.2배, 정제수율 10.6%로 부분정제하였다. Phenol, benzoate, catechol 및 salicylate가 효소를 유도하였으며, 그 중 5mM phenol이 가장 좋은 결과를 나타내었다. 이 효소는 catechol에 대해서는 우수한 효소 활성을 보였으나, 4-methylcatechol, pyrogallol 및 protocatechuate에 대해서는 거의 활성을 보이지 않았으며, catechol에 대한 Km 값은 7.8 M 이었다. 이 효소는 pH 7.5, 40℃에서 가장 높은 활성을 보였다. 이 효소는 pH 7.0∼11.0에서 안정하였으며, 열에 불안정하여 50℃에서 15분 내에 활성을 완전히 잃었고, thiol기 저해제에 의한 영향을 받지 않았다. 이 효소에 의한 catechol의 반응산물을 UV-visible spectroscopy, HPLC-diode array spectroscopy, GC-mass spectrometry로 분석한 결과 cis,cis-muconic acid로 확인되었다.

        Characteristic Clinical Features and Survival in Cats with Symptomatic Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

        Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is recognized as the most common feline cardiac disease. Several studies have evaluated the population characteristics and survival time of cats with HCM; however, these reports included large numbers of asymptomatic HCM. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the characteristics and survival time of cats with symptomatic HCM admitted to emergency service. Medical records were examined to verify clinical diagnosis of HCM. Asymptomatic cats diagnosed with HCM were also excluded from the study. From a total of 13 cats, eight were classified in the arterial thromboembolism (ATE) group while the other five were in the congestive heart failure (CHF) group. Middle-aged (6 years, range 1.4~7 years) male cats (53.8%) were included in this study. Pelvic limb paralysis, depression, and respiratory distress were common clinical signs found in symptomatic HCM cats. Hematologic evaluation found that enzymes related to muscle damage and tissue necrosis were elevated in both groups and highly elevated in the ATE group. Left atrium was remarkably enlarged in ATE group cats. The median survival time of cats in the ATE group was significantly shorter than that of cats in the CHF group (P=0.002). Prospective investigation based on a large population would be required to clarify the effects of various factors on prognosis of HCM cats.

        Musical murmur in a dog with acute chordae tendineae rupture

        A 6 year-old, spayed female, Maltese dog was presented with precordial thrill and mild coughing. Thoracic auscultation revealed a grade V/VI systolic murmur with maximal intensity over the left apex characterized by musical murmur. Echocardiography revealed mild myxomatous degeneration of mitral valve and ruptured chordae tendineae. Musical murmur was produced due to the vibration of ruptured piece of chordae tendineae along with regurgitant flow. After treatment with furosemide and ramipril, clinical signs resolved and precordial thrill reduced. This case report describes typical clinical signs and phonocardiogram of musical murmur in a dog with acute chordae tendineae rupture.

        빛과 색으로 본 하계와 동계의 도시경관 계절변화 - 스톡홀름을 중심으로 -

        본 연구는 스웨덴 스톡홀름에서 색채경관의 변화에 대한 원인 분석 및 변화과정을 제시해본다. 사실 색채는 주변환경에 대해서 영향을 받는다. 스톡홀름은 도시주변에 물이 많기 때문에 내륙보다 색채의 변화가 많다. 보통 색채는 역사지구,상업지구, 주거지구에 따라 색채계획이 다르고 빛의 반사량에 따라 시시각각 다른 이미지도 갖는다.계절별 빛의 반사량에 따라 변하는 색상, 명도, 채도값을 측정해서 팔레트를 제시 분석하고, 파사드별로 지붕과벽체별로 빛에 따라 변화하는 색상값을 측정하였다. 계절별 시각적인 큰 변화도 물이 많은 도시에서 도시경관의 변화의차이가 큰 폭으로 나타난다. 거리에서의 색채 사용에 대한 평가는 색상, 명도, 채도값을 고려함은 물론이고 빛의 반사량도고려되어져야 한다. 이때 각 색채의 특성 및 인간의 시각적인 요인에 의한 효과도 심리적인 측면과 감정적인 측면이 동시에 분석되어져야 한다. 색채의 경향은 어느 장소에 있어서 건축물의 지붕, 벽과 도로의 아스팔트 그리고 거리의녹지공간에 따라 도시경관은 색채의 구성과 재료에 의해 분류된다.계절별로 건축물의 지붕과 벽면의 색상이 빛의 반사량에 따라 변화하는 색상값을 색차계를 이용해서 측정하였고그 결과는 먼셀기호로 표기하였다. 또한 그 값은 색채이미지맵에 색상값을 표시하여 죠닝화해보고 변화하는 경향을축으로 표현하였다. 마감 재료별, 입면 부분별로 구분해서 계절별 색상값을 추출한 후 칼라이미지맵에 빛의 반사량에따라 변화하는 색상값을 계절별로 변화하는 축을 만들어 모델화하였다.따라서 각 계절별로 건축물의 지붕, 벽, 보도패턴에 대한 색채경향 및 마감재료 사용 경향을 알 수 있었고 비와 눈,구름의 양에 따라 빛의 반사량이 달라지기에 색상의 변화과정도 비교 분석해 볼 수 있었다. 또한 물리적인, 심리적인 고려뿐만아니라 물과 녹지공간의 양에 따라서도 색상값이 변화하는 계절효과도 있었다는 특징을 분석해서 색채경향을 정리하였다. This is studied by analyzing the elements of color skim change evaluation and its impact on both conservative and new town areas in the whole of the waterfront of Stockholm. In fact, a careful color design of the environment will benefit both. The color image maps are led by the existing color skims of buildings and the visual assessment proposals on development in the waterfront scene. There are many examples of townscape colors, but the conservative and historic streets as well as new towns in Stockholm city, the including waterfront area should benefit from careful design of the environment considering color image with sunshine. The Hue, Value and Chroma of colors are checked by color measuring instruments with color meter and color pallets. The parts that are checked are mainly building facades and projected side walls that caught a notice according to sunshine. Visual assessment change proposals should aim to make a good show of each waterfront district as the urban image. The purpose of this study is to be a guidance of the harmonious color planning for the future use. The data of finishes were extracted from the roofs, the walls, and the road asphalt from the each streets. Color change depends on that how much light shines in summer and winter as well as sun, rain, snow, trees, day time and night time.

      • Relationship between In Vitro Maturation and Plasminogen Activator Activity on Porcine Cumulus-Oocytes Complexes Exposed to Oxidative Stress

        This study was undertaken to evaluate the relationship between in vitro maturation and plasminogen activators (PAs) activity on porcine cumulus-oocytes complexes (COCs) exposed to oxidative stress. When COCs were cultured in maturation medium with hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$), the proportion of the germinal vesicle breakdown (GVBD) and oocytes maturation were decrease with addition of $H_2O_2$, and were significantly (p<0.05) lower in medium with 0.1 mM $H_2O_2$ than control group. Also, the rate of degenerated oocytes was increased in as $H_2O_2$ concentration in eased. When COCs were cultured for 48 h, three plasminogen-dependent lytic bands were observed: tissue-type PA (tPA); urokinase-type PA (uPA); and tPA-PA inhibitor (tPA-PAI). PA activity was quantified using SDS-PAGE and zymography. When $H_2O_2$ concentration was increased, tPA and tPA-PAI activities also increased in porcine oocytes cultured for 48 h, but not uPA. In other experiment, embryos were divided into three groups and cultured in (1) control medium, (2) control medium with 1.0 mM $H_2O_2$ and (3) control medium with 1.0 mM $H_2O_2$ along with catalase in concentrations of 0.01, 0.1, and 1.0 mg/ml, respectively. $H_2O_2$ decreased the rate of GVBD and maturation in porcine COCs but catalase revealed protective activity, against oxidative stress caused by $H_2O_2$. In this experiment, tPA and tPA-PAI activities were higher in media with 1.0 mM $H_2O_2$ alone. Increasing concentration of catalase decreased tPA and tPA-PAI activities in porcine oocytes. These results indicate that the exposure of porcine follicular oocytes to ROS inhibits oocytes maturation to metaphase-II stage and increase the oocytes degeneration. Also, we speculated that increased ROS level may trigger tPA and tPA-PAI activities in porcine oocytes matured in vitro.

        Full Tendon Transposition Augmented with Posterior Intermuscular Suture and Recession - Resection Surgery

        Purpose: To report an effect of the full tendon transposition augmented with posterior intermuscular suture and recession-resection surgery, for the patient with monocular elevation deficiency (MED) and large exotropia. Methods: Interventional case report. Full tendon transposition augmented with posterior intermuscular suture and recession-resection surgery was performed for a 26-year-old male patient had monocular elevation deficiency (MED) and large exotropia. Results: Preoperative angle of deviation was 56 prism diopters (PD) hypotropia and 45 PD right exotropia, compared with 18 PD left hypertropia and 10 PD right esotropia postoperatively. Essotropia persisted after 2.5 years, however, and so the right medial rectus was recessed after removal of the previous posterior intermuscular suture. At a three-year follow-up after the second surgery, alignment was straight in the primary position at near and far distances. Conclusions: Full tendon transposition augmented with posterior intermuscular suture and recessionresection surgery was effective for a patient with MED associated with significant horizontal deviation, and a second operation was easily performed when overcorrection occurred.
