Correlations Between Fasciology and Yin Yang Doctrine

        Hui Tao,Mei-chun Yu,Hui-ying Yang,Rong-mei Qu,Chun Yang,Xin Zhou,Yu Bai,Jing-peng Wu,Jun Wang,Ou Sha,Lin Yuan 사단법인약침학회 2011 Journal of Acupuncture & Meridian Studies Vol.4 No.2

The aim of this study is to explore the correlations between fasciology and yin yang doctrine. Professor Yuan developed fasciology by three-dimensional reconstruction of connective tissue (fascia) in the trunk and limbs of the human body and tracing back to tissue origins in light of biological evolution and developmental biology. Fasciology states that the human body can be divided into two systems: the supporting-storing system and the functional system. This article elaborates on the roles of the two systems and their mutual relationship. The two systems are used to analyze the yin,the yang, and their relationship. The two systems are promoted but also restricted in different contexts. The supporting-storing system is formed by undifferentiated connective tissue and provides undifferentiated cells and nutrients for differentiated cells of the functional system. Thus, the supporting-storing system could be classified as quiet, similar to yin. The functional system continuously maintains the various functional activities of the human body. Thus, the functional system could be classified as active, similar to yang. In interpreting the yin yang doctrine from the point of view of fasciology, yin can be compared with the supporting-storing system and yang can be compared with the functional system.

Construction of High Strain Rate Loading Constitutive Model and Failure Model and Prediction of Forming Limit for LA103Z Magnesium Alloy

        Hailiang Yang,Xiao Wang,Peng Ni,Zhewen Li,Huixia Liu 대한금속·재료학회 2022 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.28 No.8

In order to use numerical simulation to reveal the formability of magnesium–lithium alloys and other light alloys under highstrain rate, it is crucial to construct a constitutive model and a forming limit diagram (FLD) of LA103Z alloy that was formedby laser shock at high strain rate. In this study, three different uniaxial tensile experiments on the ultralight alloy materialLA103Z magnesium alloy were conducted, the mechanical behavior of the material with sensitivity to high strain rate wasstudied, and a Johnson–Cook (JC) constitutive model sensitive to high strain rates and suitable for laser shock forming wasproposed. At the same time, the constitutive parameters and failure parameters of the modified JC model of LA103Z magnesiumalloy were obtained through three different uniaxial tensile experiments. On the basis of the relationship betweentensile loading and stress–strain of LA103Z magnesium alloy, the experiments demonstrated the precision of the modified JCconstitutive model. A modified constitutive model was then developed by using the user material subroutine VUMAT, andthen it was applied to ABAQUS. Finally, the formability of the material was simulated, and the FLD of LA103Z magnesiumalloy material in laser shock forming was predicted. This study provides guidance on the actual production and applicationof LA103Z magnesium alloys.

      • On the historicity of the development and evolution of the concept of globalization

        Yang Peng(Peng Yang),Chen Ziwei(Ziwei Chen) 아시아사회과학학회 2022 Jornal of Asia Social Science Vol.8 No.1

Globalization is a world-class phenomenon, and it is the cross-border and cultural spread of factors such as the production of products, the application of technology, the dissemination of information, and jobs among different countries. Globalization is a widespread phenomenon that includes economic, political, social, cultural and legal factors. From the economic point of view, globalization explains the free trade in which different countries are interdependent through various forms. From the political point of view, the evolution of globalization is developing towards the structure of intergovernmental organizations, such as the WTO and the United Nations. From the social and cultural point of view, globalization makes the interaction and cultural exchange among ethnic groups closer. Globalization also represents the exchange and collision of cultural concepts, thoughts and artistic expressions among different regions. In addition, there is a general trend of globalization towards a single world culture. From the perspective of law, globalization has adjusted the construction and implementation of international law. In the author's opinion, globalization is not a new concept in recent decades. In ancient human society a long time ago, there were merchants who traveled long distances to another country and region, taking their hometown specialties for sale, or bringing overseas specialty products back to their hometown for sale. With the development of industrial revolution, it created a great leap in the development of transportation and communication means for human society in the 19th century, and also greatly reduced the difficulty of cross-border trade. Through a brief analysis of the historical evolution of economic globalization, political globalization and social and cultural globalization, this paper shows that globalization is the result of historical development in recent centuries, rather than a fresh product in recent decades.

Breviscapine Ameliorates Fear Extinction and Anxiety in BALB/cJ Mice

        Wei Liang(Wei Liang),Jing Huang(Jing Huang),Shuya Yang(Shuya Yang),Peng Huang(Peng Huang),Jun Chen(Jun Chen),Chen Chen(Chen Chen),Qun Yang(Qun Yang),Fengzhan Li(Fengzhan Li) 대한신경정신의학회 2023 PSYCHIATRY INVESTIGATION Vol.20 No.3

Objective In this research, the influence of breviscapine on anxiety, fear elimination, and aggression and the potential mechanism was investigated. Methods Anxiety and locomotion were analyzed by elevated plus maze and open field test in mice. Bussey-Saksida Mouse Touch Screen Chambers were used to perform fear conditioning. Territorial aggression was assessed by resident intruder test. Protein levels were evaluated by Western blot. Breviscapine improved fear-extinction learning in BALB/cJ mice. Results Breviscapine at 20-100 mg/kg increased center cross number, total distance traveled, and velocity in a dose-dependent manner. On the other hand, breviscapine at 20-100 mg/kg decreased the immobility time in open field test. In addition, breviscapine at 20-100 mg/kg increased the ratio of time on the open arm, time on the distal parts of the open arm, and total distance traveled in elevated plus maze. Breviscapine at 100 mg/kg increased the average attack latency and decreased the number of attacks over the last 3 days of resident intruder test. In hippocampus, protein levels of postsynaptic density protein-95 and synaptophysin were elevated by breviscapine at these three doses. Conclusion The administration of breviscapine alleviates fear extinction, anxiety, and aggression, while increases locomotor in a dose-dependent manner, which might be associated with its influence on synaptic function.

Magnetoelectric characteristics around resonance frequency under magnetic field in Pb(Zr, Ti)O3/Terfenol-D laminate composite

        Yang-Yang Guo,Jian-Ping Zhou,Peng Liu 한국물리학회 2010 Current Applied Physics Vol.10 No.4

Dependence of magnetoelectric modulus and phasic difference on the bias magnetic field was studied in a magnetoelectric Pb(Zr, Ti)O3/Terfenol-D laminate composite. The shifts of both magnetoelectric resonant peak and phasic bounce under the bias magnetic field lead to a nonlinear relationship between them. The acoustic velocity of Terfenol-D has a nonlinear dependence on magnetic field, resulting in a similar relationship between the acoustic velocity of the composite and magnetic field. As a result, the magnetoelectric modulus and phase around the resonance frequency exhibit very sensitive dependences on the bias magnetic field.

The Development of Clinical Document Standards for Semantic Interoperability in China

        Peng Yang,Feng Pan,Danhong Liu,Yongyong Xu,Yi Wan,Haibo Tu,Xuejun Tang,Jianping Hu 대한의료정보학회 2011 Healthcare Informatics Research Vol.17 No.4

Objectives: This study is aimed at developing a set of data groups (DGs) to be employed as reusable building blocks for the construction of the eight most common clinical documents used in China’s general hospitals in order to achieve their structural and semantic standardization. Methods: The Diagnostics knowledge framework, the related approaches taken from the Health Level Seven (HL7), the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE), and the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP) and 1,487 original clinical records were considered together to form the DG architecture and data sets. The internal structure, content, and semantics of each DG were then defined by mapping each DG data set to a corresponding Clinical Document Architecture data element and matching each DG data set to the metadata in the Chinese National Health Data Dictionary. By using the DGs as reusable building blocks, standardized structures and semantics regarding the clinical documents for semantic interoperability were able to be constructed. Results: Altogether, 5 header DGs, 48 section DGs, and 17 entry DGs were developed. Several issues regarding the DGs, including their internal structure, identifiers, data set names, definitions, length and format, data types, and value sets, were further defined. Standardized structures and semantics regarding the eight clinical documents were structured by the DGs. Conclusions: This approach of constructing clinical document standards using DGs is a feasible standard-driven solution useful in preparing documents possessing semantic interoperability among the disparate information systems in China. These standards need to be validated and refined through further study.

      • Evidence for lithium superoxide-like species in the discharge product of a Li–O2 battery

        Yang, Junbing,Zhai, Dengyun,Wang, Hsien-Hau,Lau, Kah Chun,Schlueter, John A.,Du, Peng,Myers, Deborah J.,Sun, Yang-Kook,Curtiss, Larry A.,Amine, Khalil The Royal Society of Chemistry 2013 Physical chemistry chemical physics Vol.15 No.11

<P>We report on the use of a petroleum coke-based activated carbon (AC) with very high surface area for a Li–O2 battery cathode without the use of any additional metal catalysts. Electrochemical measurement in a tetra(ethylene) glycol dimethyl ether–lithium triflate (TEGDME–LiCF3SO3) electrolyte results in two voltage plateaus during charging at 3.2–3.5 and 4.2–4.3 V <I>versus</I> Li+/Li. Herein we present evidence from Raman and magnetic measurements that the lower plateau corresponds to a form of lithium peroxide with superoxide-like properties characterized by a low temperature magnetic phase transition and a high O–O stretching frequency (1125 cm−1). The magnetic phase transition and the high O–O stretching frequency disappear when charged to above 3.7 V. Theoretical calculations indicate that a surface superoxide structure on lithium peroxide clusters and some lithium peroxide surfaces have an unpaired electron and a high O–O stretching frequency that help explain the observations. These results provide evidence that the form of the lithium peroxide discharge product is important to obtaining a low charge overpotential, and thus improving the round-trip efficiency between discharge and charge.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>We report on the use of a petroleum coke-based activated carbon in a Li–O2 battery that gives two voltage plateaus during charging and evidence for a superoxide-like species. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c3cp00069a'> </P>

Joint Optimization for Residual Energy Maximization in Wireless Powered Mobile-Edge Computing Systems

( Peng Liu ),( Gaochao Xu ),( Kun Yang ),( Kezhi Wang ),( Yang Li ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.12

Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) and Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) are both recognized as promising techniques, one is for solving the resource insufficient of mobile devices and the other is for powering the mobile device. Naturally, by integrating the two techniques, task will be capable of being executed by the harvested energy which makes it possible that less intrinsic energy consumption for task execution. However, this innovative integration is facing several challenges inevitably. In this paper, we aim at prolonging the battery life of mobile device for which we need to maximize the harvested energy and minimize the consumed energy simultaneously, which is formulated as residual energy maximization (REM) problem where the offloading ratio, energy harvesting time, CPU frequency and transmission power of mobile device are all considered as key factors. To this end, we jointly optimize the offloading ratio, energy harvesting time, CPU frequency and transmission power of mobile device to solve the REM problem. Furthermore, we propose an efficient convex optimization and sequential unconstrained minimization technique based combining method to solve the formulated multi-constrained nonlinear optimization problem. The result shows that our joint optimization outperforms the single optimization on REM problem. Besides, the proposed algorithm is more efficiency.

        Macro-/micro-environment-sensitive chemosensing and biological imaging

        Yang, Zhigang,Cao, Jianfang,He, Yanxia,Yang, Jung Ho,Kim, Taeyoung,Peng, Xiaojun,Kim, Jong Seung The Royal Society of Chemistry 2014 Chemical Society reviews Vol.43 No.13

<P>Environment-related parameters, including viscosity, polarity, temperature, hypoxia, and pH, play pivotal roles in controlling the physical or chemical behaviors of local molecules. In particular, in a biological environment, such factors predominantly determine the biological properties of the local environment or reflect corresponding status alterations. Abnormal changes in these factors would cause cellular malfunction or become a hallmark of the occurrence of severe diseases. Therefore, in recent years, they have increasingly attracted research interest from the fields of chemistry and biological chemistry. With the emergence of fluorescence sensing and imaging technology, several fluorescent chemosensors have been designed to respond to such parameters and to further map their distributions and variations <I>in vitro</I>/<I>in vivo</I>. In this work, we have reviewed a number of various environment-responsive chemosensors related to fluorescent recognition of viscosity, polarity, temperature, hypoxia, and pH that have been reported thus far.</P> <P>Graphic Abstract</P><P>We have summarized the research progress on fluorescent sensors responsive to environmental factors, including local viscosity, polarity, temperature, hypoxia and pH. <IMG SRC='http://pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=c4cs00051j'> </P>
