        Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia(CEP) is a rare disease of unknown etiology characterized by chronic infiltration of the lung with eosinophils. It presents with profound systemic symptoms comprising fever, night sweats, weight loss, dyspnea and blood eosinophilia with nonsegmental air-space consolidation confined to the outer third of the lung, the "photographic negative of pulmonary edema". Histopathologic features of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia are intraalveolar and interstitial infiltrations with eosinophils, histiocytes, giant cells, scattered lymphocytes and plasma cells. Glucocorticoid therapy cause prompt resolution of symptoms as well as disappearans of blood eosinophils, elevated serum Ig E levels and the roentgenographic lesions. Infrequent radiographic findings include nodular infiltrates, consolidations, cavitations, atelectasis and pleural effusions. Deaths from CEP although rare, have been reported, but the majorities of CEP have benign courses and do not need a therapy with ventilator. We report a case of chronic eosinophilic pneumonia, which had a sudden course associated with diffuse pneumonic consolidations on the both lung and bilateral pleural effusion.

      • 置換퀴녹살린디옥시드類의 合成과 抗菌性에 關한 硏究

        3-Substituted pyridino〔2, 3-b〕7, 8-dihydroxyquinoxaline-5, 10-dioxides were synthesized by the reaction of 1, 2, 4-trihydroxybenzene with 3-substituted pyridino〔2, 3-b〕furoxan derivatives which had been obtained from 2-aminopyridine derivatives bearing methoxy, methyl, acetyl and nitro groups at the 5-position. Pyridino〔2, 3-b〕7, 8-dihydroxyquinoxaline-5, 10-dioxide was also prepared by the reaction of 1, 2, 4-trihydroxybenzene with pyridino〔2, 3-b〕furoxan. The antimicrobial activities of these pyridinoquinoxaline dioxides were investigated in terms of minimum inhibitory concentration by the common twofold dilution method. It was observed that the antimicrobial activity of the pyridinoquinoxaline dioxides bearing electron releasing substituents was stronger than that of those bearing electron withdrawing substituents. The antimicrobial activity of pyridinoquinoxaline dioxide derivatives has a direct relationship with the electronic effect of the substituents.

      • 大家畜의 受精卵 移植에 關한 硏究

        This study was carried out in order to induce multiple birth following egg transfer in Korean native cattle, and composed of three experiments ; induction of multiple birth following GTH single administration, Ovarian response to the administration of GTH in combination with Prostaglandin F2α and non-surgical egg transfer following superovulation and non-surgical recovery of fertilized eggs. The results obtained in three experiments were summarized as followings: Experiment I. Induction of multiple birth following GTH single administration. (1) Average duration from PMS administration to the onset of estrus was 3.8 to 4.7 days and no difference due to dosage and administration site of PMS were observed. (2) Duration of induced estrus was ranged from 3.1 to 4.6 days and that of induced estrous cycle was shortened by the length of induced estrus. (3) The most slowed follicles (5.3- 5.5) were observed in the cattle administrated with 2,000 IU of PMS and 1,000 IU of PMS was considered to be the optimum dosage for the limited ovulation. (4) Ovulation rate was declined when the PMS dosage was increased more than, 1000 IU (5) Highest rate of twin birth (35.7%) was obtained from the cattle treated with 1,000 IU of PMS and the next was the catties treated with 500 IU and 2,000 IU of PMS, respectively. Experiment II. Ovarian response to the administration of GTH in combination with Prostaglandin F2α. (1) Average duration from PMS administration to the onset of estrus was 5 days and the duration was shortened with the increasing dosage of PMS. (2) Duration of induced estrus was ranged from 2.3 to 4.5 days and the duration of estrus was shortened with the decreasing dosage of PMS. (3) Number of follicle obtained from the cattle treated with 4,000, 3,000, 2,000, 1,000 and 500 IU of PMS were clarified to be 11.4, 11.5,7,2.3 and 2.5, respectively, after 4.8-5.2 days of PMS administration. (4) Observing the results of slaughter, ovulation rates of the cattle treated with 4,000, 3,000, 2,000, 1,000, and 500 Iu of FMS were 16.3, 35.6, 60.0, 65 and 75%, respectively. (5) The numbers of degenerated, or bled follicle were increased with the increase of PMS dosage. Experiment III. Non-surgical egg transfer following superovulation and non-surgical egg transfer. (1) Average six eggs per donor were ovulated and 65% of them were recovered by non-surgical technique. (2) Eighty two percent of eggs recovered were found to be normal morphologically and were at 4-32 cell stage, respectively. (3) Seventy five percent of cattle treated with prostaglandin F2α were synchronized in their estrus within 4 days of administration. (4) No twin fetation was obtained from the five recipients received fertilized eggs.

      • N- 및 -4-Amino-N-(6-Alkyl-, 6-Alkoxy-2-Benzothiazolyl) Benzenesulfonamides類의 合成과 抗菌作用에 關한 硏究

        Eight new sulfonamides containing benzothiazole ring at N¹ were prepared. The compounds were synthesized by reacting 2-amino-6-methyl-, -6-ethyl-, -6-methoxy-, -6-ethoxybenzothiazole with benzenesulfonyl chloride or p-acetamidobenzenesulfonyl chloride, respectively. All the other analytical methods, as well as IR, NMR, elemental analysis, agreed with the proposed structures. The compounds exhibited antibacterial activity, in vitro, against Gram positive, Staphylococcus aureusa, and Gram negative, Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhi, Klebsiella pneumoniae at concentrations of 100 to 250㎍/㎖. And they also exhibited antifungal activity against Cryptococcus neoformans at concentrations of 50 to 250㎍/㎖. It is of interest that these compounds revealed significant antifungal activity. This result means that these compounds are different from other sulfonamides already developed.

        Due to the radical change of society and the technological innovation, it is inevitable to rearrange the educational objective of the Department of Architectural Engineering Education and to reorganize the curriculum responding to the objective. In this study, all the current curricula of architectural institutions have been analized to identify problems, and the educational objective of the department of architectural engineering education have been established based on the objective of the College of Industrial Education. As the result of the above studies, the model curriculum for the major subjects have been developed in order to have following characteristics. 1. The required subjects were limited to the basic fields in order to cover the education in the technical high school. 2. The elective subjects were organized into three fields, namely, architecture, structural engineering, and building materials and construction to meet the diversified demands to a possible maximum extent.

      • N-2-(6-치환-벤조티아졸일)-N'-치환-우레아류의 합성과 정량적 구조-항균력 상관관계에 대한 연구

        6-Substituted-2-aminobenzothiazoles were prepared from p-Substitutedaniline through the method of Randvere rearrangement. The benzothiazoles were reacted with corresponding isocyanate and 21 of N-2-(6-Substituted(R₁) benzothiazolyl)-N'-substituted (R₂)ureas were synthesized, where R₁is H, methyl, ethyl, propyl and butyl, R₂is methyl, ethyl, propyl or phenyl, The structures of the compounds were determined by means of IR, NMR spectroscopy in addition to elemental analyses. Each compound was tested for antimicrobial activity in vitro on staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Eschrichia coli ATCC 25922 and Cryptococcus neoformans. The results of QSAR of antibacterial activities against staphylococcus aureus indicate that lipophilicity and steric effect of substituent R₁influence on relatively potent inhibition to the growth of S. aureus.

      • 할로겐 置換 페나진 디옥시드類의 合成에 關한 硏究

        7-Substituted 2,3-dihydroxyphenazine-5,10-dioxides were synthesized by the reaction of 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene with 6-substituted benzofuroxan derivertives which had been obtained from aniline derivertives bearing bromo, chloro groups at the para position. 2,3-Dihydroxyphenazine-5,10-dioxide was also prepared by the reaction of 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene with benzofuroxan. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed on the basis of IR, ¹H-NMR and elemental analysis.

      • 鮟鱇網 漁具 漁法의 改良에 관한 硏究(Ⅱ) : 展開帆을 이용한 改良漁具 試驗(豫報)

        Ordinarily stow net fisheries was used by floater beam and sinker beam for the purpose of spreading the mouth of net. But it was not only iuconvenient and dangerous but much defective. In this thesis, we have studied fundermental experiment of the improved stow net fishing gear using head rope, ground rope and otter sail instead of floater beam and sinker beam. From the result of this experiment, it has been succeeded for fishing work to achieve basically without any difficulty. The results obtained in this study were as follows. 1) The resistance of fishing gear was estimated R≒7V2 as possible as it is taken greatly. (R: Resistance V: the rate of current) 2) The interval of otter sail was spreaded smoothly. Being in normal condition, it was maintamed the width 37-38m. It was heared comparison with net mouth of ordinary gear, and the shearing force was enough. 3) The height of mouth was lower than we have anticipated to and seemed to have the supplement of buoyancy. But according to increasing the rate of current, the lowness of mouth height was little affected. 4) The height of otter sail was decreased at the rate of 30% by the rate of current, on the contrary, the height of wing was not decreased owing to sufficient buoyancy, 5) The adjustment of extention length of hanging wire(connected with fishing boat) and raising wire(with otter sail) was great important problem and it must be dealed with the most moderatly because of a corelation between the spreading of fishing gear and catching ability. 6) On the depth of 30m, it was taken 25 minuits to cast anchor and lines, 20 min cast net, 24 min haul net, 45 min haul lines and heave anchor, respectively. 7) The improved stow net with otter sail was cleared up the defects and difficult problems in ordinary gear using floater beam and sinker beam, and it have more advantages of fishing work than ordinary one. But there were involved in lots of problems in details to solve in the future.

      • 영도 내 교육기관의 음용 지하수의 화학적 및 생물학적 성분에 관한 연구

        Korea is the nation of lack water and water-pollution state although Koreans are drinking underground water. Especially, the pollution problems of underground water are serious. Korean Institute of Resources reported that there were 8,218 number of sprinkled well and 64,560,000ts of underground water were using for drinking and 204 springs among 975 were not able to drink as result of tests un their quality. This research conducted examination on the quality of underground water in 8 education institutions in Yeongdo-Gu, Busan at monsoon(July to September) and dry seasons(October to November) in 1999. It was examined to the chemical and biological components in the underground water: the amount of chemical components such as Ammonia-Nitrogen, Nitrite-Nitrogen, Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD), Cadmium(Cd), Cromium(Cr), Manganese(Mn), Lead(Pb), Zinc(Zn), and Copper(Cu) as well as the amount of biological components such as general bacteria and Escherichia coli group. The underground water in three education institutions out of the eight tested schools had positive response to Escherichia coli group. The water in YDWM school contained Escherichia coli group in the monsoon of July to September but not in the dry season of October to November. The water of YDWCH school had over great value of standard in the test of general bacteria in all of seasons. In the dry season, the level of the number of general bacteria in the water of all tested schools was below the allowance-value except the water of YDWM, YDWCH, YDWH schools, and the water of YDWM, YDWH schools showed less value than the allowance-value in the monsoon of July to September. None of the four schools appeared positive response to Escherichia coli group. All water tested had no heavy metal, but they had chemical components below the allowance-value.

      • 몰포린置環 페나진誘導體의 合成에 關한 硏

        2,3-Dihydroxy-7-morpholinophenazine-5,10-dioxide(12) was synthesized by reaction of 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene with 5(or 6)-morpholinobenzofuroxan(11) had been obtained from 2-amino-4-morpholinobenzene. 2,3-Dihydroxyphenazine-5,10-dioxide was also prepared by the reaction of trihydroxybenzene with benzofuroxan. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed on the basis ¹H-NMR and elemental analysis. The possible mechanisms for the formation of substituted phenazinedioxid and substituted benzofuroxan were discussed.
