대한제국을 식민지화하기 위한 일제의 침탈이 여러 방면에서 가속화하자, 1907~1909년간 전라북도 북동부의 진안ㆍ임실ㆍ남원ㆍ장수 지역의 의병 부대는 이석용 주도로 조직을 강화했다. 이석용(李錫庸 1878~1914) 의병 투쟁을 전폭 지원했지만, 그동안 주목받지 못했던 권중원(權重遠 일명:晉奎 1860~1910)의 업적을 재조명해 보았다. 전주이씨 종친인 이석용 의병장은 지역의 유력 성씨인 안동권씨, 창원정씨, 부안김씨 가문과 혈연, 학연으로 결속하여 의병 分散 투쟁을 이끌었다. 근거리 지역에 거주했던 권중원, 이석용, 丁象伯, 金灝述 사이에 평소에 안면이 있었다. 거기에다가 전주이씨와 안동권씨, 창원정씨, 부안김씨 사이에는 혼인으로 형성된 인척 관계를 맺고 있었다. 이석용 장인 金觀述 (1849~1921)과 권중연의 학연이 연대감을 강화하는 요인이었다. 이석용의 査丈이었던 권중원은 일제의 국권 침탈에 분개했다. 맏며느리의 오빠 이석용의 起兵節義에 공감했다. 임실ㆍ장수ㆍ남원권의 유림과 연결된 권중원은 이석용의 의병투쟁을 적극 지원했다. 의병모집, 정보전달, 군자금 모집, 가족들의 보호에 앞장을 섰다. 권중원의 적극적인 지원으로 이석용 부대는 의병 분산 투쟁을 장기간 지속할 수 있었다. 후기 의병의 장기항전으로 일제의 조선 倂呑을 상당 기간 저지할 수 있었다. 1909년 2월에 일제 군사경찰이 의병투쟁 지원을 문제 삼아 권중원의 집과 문적에 방화하여 전소되었다. 권중원은 1910년 6월에 탄압을 피해 피신했던 임실군 화개동 타인의 집 좁은 방에서 생을 마감했다. 위태로운 나라를 구하기 위해서 목숨을 건[見危授命] 이석용의 의병 투쟁이 장기간 지속된 데는 권중원의 지원이 일조했다. 2019년에 권중원의 대의를 위한 희생 정신은 국가보훈처의 포상을 받았다. We reexamined the achievements of Kwon Joong-won (權重遠 nickname: Jin-gyu晉奎1860-1910) who actively supported Lee Seok-yong (李 錫庸1878-1914), who represented the late struggle for the disease in northwest Jeollabuk-do. Andong Kwon(安東權), Buan Kim(扶安金), Changwon Jeong(昌原丁), and Jeonju Lee(全州李), the leading sex officials of Jangsu-gun and Namwon-gun, which are connected by Jiyeon(地緣), blood ties(血緣), and academic ties(學緣), actively supported Lee Seok-yong's righteous army struggle. Kwon Joong-won, who was in a relationship with Lee Seok-yong, sympathized with the rise of Lee Seok-yong, the eldest daughterin- law's brother, while he was usually resentful of the Japanese invasion of national power. Jeong Sang-baek of the Changwon Jeong family, Lee Seok-yong's brother-in-law, and Kim Kwan-sul and Kim Ho-sul of the Buan Kim family, Lee Seok-yong's father-in-law, also supported Lee Seok-yong's righteous army struggle in cooperation with Kwon Joong-won. For the long-term resistance of the righteous army, it took the lead in recruiting righteous army, delivering information, collecting military funds, and protecting families. Their important achievements are summarized as follows. 1. He actively participated in the recruitment of righteous army by Lee Seok-yong's unit. 2. It provided information to Lee Seok-yong's unit and supported propaganda activities. 3. Lee Seok-yong's unit took the lead in raising military funds. 4. To protect Lee Seok-yong's family and support military funds, the family's land was sold. Kwon Joong-won's active support for the struggle of the righteous army served as a stepping stone for the Lee Seok-yong unit's activities to transition to a long-term resistance system, not a one-off one. As the long-term resistance posture of the late soldiers continued, the Japanese imperialism prevented the Korean Empire from taking over its national sovereignty for a considerable period of time. However, in February 1909, the Japanese military police set fire to Kwon Joong-won's house and literary record and burned down, taking issue with the support of the righteous army's struggle. Kwon Joongwon ended his life in a small room in another person's house in Hwagae-dong, Imsil-gun, where he fled from oppression in June 1910. Kwon Joong-won's support contributed to Lee Seok-yong's longstanding struggle for the righteous army to save the country in jeopardy. In 2019, Kwon Joong-won's spirit of sacrifice for the cause was re warded by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs.

Postharvest insect pest control is highly demanding in agricultural industry including domestic consumer markets and exporting products for a quarantine purpose. Especially, the organic or environmentally friendly agricultural products do not fit to the traditional chemical postharvest treatments using methyl bromide (MeBr) or phosphine (PH3). As an alternative, a physical treatment called CATTS (controlled atmosphere and temperature treatment) has been developed to control various insect and mite pests on ornamental products. The oriental fruit moth, Grapholita molesta, infects the apple or pear fruits and is limited in importing and exporting the infected products. To apply CATTS on this insect pests, the most heat-tolerant stage was determined. Among the immature stages locating on the fruits, the fifth instar larvae were the most tolerant to 44℃ for 20 min. A ramping step of CATTS is to increase chamber temperature from 25℃ to 46℃ under 15% CO2 and less than 1% O2. The ramping rate was positively correlated with the CATTS efficiency. After the ramping step, the duration of CATTS was positively correlated with CATTS efficiency. However, fruit damage by CATTS was negatively correlated with the ramping rate was positively correlated with the CATTS duration. in addition, the CATTS efficiency was highly dependent on the fruit internal temperature at 44℃. From all these parameters, we developed a standard protocol yielding 100% control efficiency of CATTS.
High-Definition 3D Stereoscopic Microscope Display System for Biomedical Applications

<P>Biomedical research has been performed by using advanced information techniques, and micro-high-quality stereo images have been used by researchers and/or doctors for various aims in biomedical research and surgery. To visualize the stereo images, many related devices have been developed. However, the devices are difficult to learn for junior doctors and demanding to supervise for experienced surgeons. In this paper, we describe the development of a high-definition (HD) three-dimensional (3D) stereoscopic imaging display system for operating a microscope or experimenting on animals. The system consists of a stereoscopic camera part, image processing device for stereoscopic video recording, and stereoscopic display. In order to reduce eyestrain and viewer fatigue, we use a preexisting stereo microscope structure and polarized-light stereoscopic display method that does not reduce the quality of the stereo images. The developed system can overcome the discomfort of the eye piece and eyestrain caused by use over a long period of time.</P>
알기생봉(Trichogramma sp. Nabis101)의 저온 발육 휴지와 단기 저장 기술

상용화된 Trichogramma sp. Nabis101은 알 기생봉으로 대상 기주 범위가 넓어 해충 방제용으로 농생태계에 방사되고 있다. 더욱이 최근에 미생물농약과 혼용 기술이 개발되어 이들의 적용 확대가 기대되고 있다. 그러나 아직 이 기생봉의 정확한 종 동정이 되어 있지 않다. 또한 비교적 불규칙적 수요에 대응하여 생존력과 기생 능력 차이 없이 기생봉을 저장할 수 있는 기술이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구는 이 기생봉의 internal transcribed spacer (ITS)의 염기서열을 결정하였다. 이를 토대로 이 기생봉의 종 동정을 실시한 결과 T. brasiliensis와 가장 높은 유사성을 나타냈다. 이 기생봉의 저장은 기생 초기의 기주 알을 $10^{\circ}C$에서 보관하는 기술이 결정되었다. 이 조건에서 기생봉은 5주 동안 생존력, 성비, 수명 및 기생능력의 큰 저하 없이 유지될 수 있었다. A commercial egg parasitoid, Trichogramma sp. Nabis101, was released into agricultural cultivating areas in Korea due to its wide host spectrum against insect pests. Moreover, an application technique has been recently developed to enhance its control efficacy by mixture treatment with a microbial control agent. Despite its expansion of commercial availability, any genetic identification on this commercial strain was not determined. Also, to meet inconsistent demands from consumers, the live parasitoids need to be stored without significant loss of their survival and parasitic activity. This study determined nucleotide sequence of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of the wasp species. The identified ITS sequences indicate that this wasp species is most similar to T brasiliensis. Optimal storage condition of this wasp required young parasitized stage at $10^{\circ}C$. Under these conditions, survival, sex ratio, longevity, and parasitic behavior were not much impaired for 5 weeks.

Due to internal feeding behavior, the oriental tobacco budworm, Helicoverpa assulta ($Guen\acute{e}e$), infesting hot pepper has been regarded to be effectively controlled by targeting egg and neonate larval stages just before entering the fruits. This study aimed to develop an efficient biological control method focusing on these susceptible stages of H. assulta. An egg parasitoid wasp, Trichogramma evanescens Westwood, was confirmed to parasitize the eggs of H. assulta. A mixture of Gram-positive soil bacterium, Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki, and Gram-negative entomopathogenic bacterium, Xenorhabdus nematophila ANU101, could effectively kill neonate larvae of H. assulta. A sex pheromone trap monitored the occurrence of field H. assulta adults. The microbial insecticide mixture was proved to give no detrimental effects on immature development and adult survival of the wasp by both feeding and contact toxicity tests. A combined treatment of egg parasitoid and microbial pesticide was applied to hot pepper fields infested by H. assulta. The mixture treatment of both biological control agents significantly decreased the fruit damage, which was comparable to the chemical insecticide treatment, though either single biological control agent did not show any significant control efficacy. This study also provides morphological and genetic characters of T. evanescens. 고추를 가해하는 담배나방(Helicoverpa assulta ($Guen\acute{e}e$))의 최적 방제 적기는 과실 내부로 침투하기 이전 시기인 알과 어린 유충으로 인식되고 있다. 본 연구는 담배나방의 이러한 감수성 발육시기를 대상으로 하는 효과적 생물적 방제 기술을 개발하는 데 목표를 두었다. 쌀좀알벌(Trichogramma evanescens Westwood)은 알기생봉으로 담배나방 알도 기생시키는 것이 본 연구를 통해 관찰되었다. 그람양성균인 토양 곤충병원세균(Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki)과 그람음성균인 곤충병원세균(Xenorhabdus nematophila ANU101)은 어린 담배나방 유충을 대상으로 상호 협력적 병원력을 발휘하였다. 고추 포장의 담배나방 성충 발생은 페로몬트랩을 통해 모니터링하였다. 혼합 미생물제제는 접촉과 섭식 독성 분석 모두에서 쌀좀알벌의 유충 발육과 성충 생존에 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 판명되었다. 담배나방 성충 발생이 성페로몬 트랩으로 확인된 시기에 고추포장에 쌀좀알벌과 미생물제제의 혼합 처리가 실시되었다. 혼합 생물방제 처리는 화학농약과 비슷한 수준으로 과실의 피해를 현저히 감소시킨 반면, 단독 생물방제 처리는 효과가 현저히 낮았다. 아울러 본 연구는 쌀좀알벌의 형태적 및 유전적 특징을 분석했다.
