As a result of the execution of the import liberalization and local autonomy with WTO system launching, centralized rural extension service converted to localized rural extension service. This advent of globalization and localization era affects our over all agricultural condition, moreover the duty and role of rural extension organization which take complete of rural extension, is compelled to diversified and specified technology. In this study, first we will investigate the change of agricultural, rural community, and local rural extension service in globalization and localization era. Second we will analyze the confronted problems of local rural extension service. With this study's outcome for basis, we will present new role and direction of local rural extension service which can contribute to local agricultural development.
배기가스 재순환에 의한 실린더 및 피스톤 마모에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

The effects of recirculated exhaust gas on the wear of cylinder liner, piston and piston rings have been investigated by the experiment with a two-cylinder, four cycle, indirect injection disel engine operating at 75% load and 1600 rpm spped. For the purpose of comparison between the wear rates of two cylinders with and without EGR, the recirculated exhaust gas is sucked into one of two cylinders after the soot among exhaust emissions is removed by an intentionally designed cylinder-type scrubber equipped with 6 water injectors(A water injector has 144 nozzles of 1.0 mm diameter), while only the fresh air into another cylinder. These experiments are carried out on the fuel injection at a fixed 15.3˚BTDC timing. It is found that firstly the mean wear amount of cylinder liner with EGR is more increased in the measurement positions of the second half than of the first and the mean wear amoount without EGR is almost uniform regardless of measurement positions, secondly the wear rates of the first and second piston ring(compression ring) thickness with EGR are more than twice, but the wear rate of oil ring thickness without EGR is more increased than that with EGR, and finally the wear rate of piston skirt with EGR is a little bit increased, but the piston head diameter is rather increased owing to soot adhesion and corrosion wear, and especially larger with EGR.
XML을 이용한 요양기관 청구 전자문서거래(EDI) 시스템의 설계 및 구현

Many companies are using EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) for the electronic transmission of documents and information to and from other companies. The appearance of Internet can enhance existing EDI systems. Existing EDI systems have several problems such as poor system interoperability and high expense of VAN. This paper proposes a new EDI system utilizing Internet to provide open communication environment by using XML(eXtensible Markup Language) and this applies it to the EDI service for Hospital Demand. XML is a mark-up language extending HTML which is a standard language for expression of WWW(World-wide web) pages. XML is more structural than HTML, thus it is more suitable for the repetitive tasks of EDI and for the maintenance of databases. XML can transmit EDI documents in the open communication environment of Internet and users can easily access the documents with web browsers. Therefore we can provide EDI services within more open environment and we can build an EDI system with lower expense.

This paper describes a speed sensorless algorithm for vector control system with compensated rotor time constant variation of induction motor using a model reference adaptive system (MRAS). The proposed system is composed of two MRAS, one is a rotor speed estimation identification by a back-EMF observer, another is a rotor time constant identification by magnetizing current observer. As a result, robust field oriented control system of induction machine against paremeter variation can be realized. The suggested control strategy and estimation method have been validated by simulation study. In the simulation using Matlab/Simulink, the proposed speed sensorless vector control system operated very well in spite of variable rotor time constant and load fluctuation.
CROSS 공법을 이용한 폐수의 생물학적 처리에 관한 연구

This study aims to develop using a continuous removal of organic and settling solid(CROSS) to increase the efficiency of aeration system for wastewater treatment. To solve many problems of the conventional activated-sludge process, authors suggested a new CROSS model in conjunction with aeration systems in 1996. This system is characterized by utilizing an intensive aeration pipe with inlets at the lower portion and outlets at the higher portion in an aeration tank. Through the experiments on CROSS process, the average removal efficiences of BOD, COD_(Mn), SS, T-N and T-P were showed 98.8%, 93.9%, 98.0%, 71.3% and 49.8%. The average DO (Dissolved-Oxygen) concentration was constantly maintained at 8.0 mg/L by the intensive aeration which was accompanied by rapid reduction of BOD. Degradation of the organic matters in sewage then continued for the whole aeration period. The process demonstrated that it was very adaptive without seeding and returning the sludge. Compared to the activated sludge system, the system was very flexible for the continuous flow treatment. This preliminary assessment showed that the porous media in CROSS reactor is viable for the sewage treatment, since the porous media under the intensive aeration achieves acceptable effluent quality.

J. Anim. Sci. 95: 31-36. The PGM1 gene from four porcine breeds (Berkshire, Duroc, Landrace, and Yorkshire) is highly expressed in liver tissue at the transcriptional level. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of PGM1 were examined to analyze association with increased expression of PGM1 gene in the Berkshire liver. A Leu525 synonymous SNP of Chr6:137174682A@@>@@G (c.1575A@@>@@G) was identified and showed significant (P@@<@@0.05) differences to backfat thickness, drip loss, protein content, fat content, Warner-Bratzler shear force, and post-mortem pH24h. Therefore, it is concluded that PGM1 synonymous SNP is an important factor regulating meat quality. </P>
Optimal hole extraction performance in MoOx-incorporated PEDOT:PSS films for organic photovoltaics

We propose a hole extraction system based on the metal-like poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) blended with MoOx. Tuning the volume ratio of MoOx to PEDOT:PSS, the conductivity increases ten times, compared to that of pristine PEDOT:PSS flm. The efcient charge recombination and generation characteristics between MoOx with PEDOT:PSS are argued as the increase. No additional absorption peak due to the charge transfer in the hole transport layer implies that the system does not follow the P-type doping technique. The use of MoOx-mixed PEDOT:PSS thin flm as the hole extraction layer for the poly{4,8-bis[5-(2-ethylhexyl)-thiophen-2-yl]benzo[1,2-b;4,5-b’]dithiophene-2,6- diyl-alt-[4-(2-ethylhexyl)-3-fuorothieno[3,4-b]thiophene]-2-carboxylate-2-6-diyl} (PTB7-Th) and [6,6]-phenyl C70-butyric acid methyl ester (PC[70]BM)-based organic solar cells is found to increase the short circuit current density and fll factor of the device concomitant, and the power conversion efciency increases from 6.7 to 8.1% when the MoOx mixing ratio is 3%. The improved hole extraction performance of MoOx-mixed PEDOT:PSS thin flm would be benefcial for potential applications in organic electronic devices.

Drought is a one of the most serious abiotic stresses limiting rice production. However, little progress has been made in the genetic analysis of drought tolerance, because it is a complex trait controlled by a number of genes and affected by various environmental factors. The most efficient method for drought tolerance breeding is using drought tolerance genetic resources. We used a doubled-haploid (DH) population consist of 101 lines derived from a cross the drought tolerant cultivar ‘Samgang’ and the drought sensitive cultivar ‘Nagdong’ for QTL analysis. Drought stress was treated by withholding water for 6 weeks, and then rewatered for 7 days. After rewatering visual phenotype was observed according to the standard evaluation system for rice, IRRI. Drought sensitive parent ‘Nagdong’ was almost died, while tolerant parent ‘Samgang’ showed slightly leaf tip dring phenotype. The qdr11 detected on chromosome 11 with flanking markers RM26755-RM287 and accounted for 19% phenotype variation with a LOD score of 3.7.

<P>Improved approaches for promoting umbilical cord blood (CB) hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) homing are clinically important to enhance engraftment of CB-HSCs. Clinical transplantation of CB-HSCs is used to treat a wide range of disorders. However, an improved understanding of HSC chemotaxis is needed for facilitation of the engraftment process. We found that ectopic overexpression of miR-9 and antisense-miR-9 respectively down- and up-regulated C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4) expression in CB-CD34<SUP>+</SUP> cells as well as in 293T and TF-1 cell lines. Since CXCR4 is a specific receptor for the stromal cell derived factor-1 (SDF-1) chemotactic factor, we investigated whether sense miR-9 and antisense miR-9 influenced CXCR4-mediated chemotactic mobility of primary CB CD34<SUP>+</SUP> cells and TF-1 cells. Ectopic overexpression of sense miR-9 and antisense miR-9 respectively down- and up-regulated SDF-1-mediated chemotactic cell mobility. To our knowledge, this study is the first to report that miR-9 may play a role in regulating CXCR4 expression and SDF-1-mediated chemotactic activity of CB CD34<SUP>+</SUP> cells.</P>
