        오지호 <남향집> 제작연도에 관한 실증적 연구

        <남향집>은 1930년대에 한국의 자연에 바탕을 둔 한국적 인상주의의 완성한 오지호의 대표작이다. 그리고 <남향집>은 오지호가 1935년부터 1944년까지 거주했던 개성 초당집의 사랑채와 앞뜰의 대추나무를 그린 작품으로 등록문화재로 지정되어 있다. 본 연구는 <남향집>이 1947년경 제작되고 1960년대 후반에 제작되거나 보필되었다는 연구에 관해 반론을 제시하였다. 각종 문헌과 아카이브 자료, 보고서를 근거로 <남향집>이 1939년 빛을 바탕으로 한국인의 정서를 담아 그린 근대미술작품임을 증명하였다. 또한 1948년 오지호 개인전에 사양(斜陽, 25호)으로 출품된 <남향집>에 관한 오지호의 작품 설명을 분석하여 작품을 제작한 계절과 시간, 작품 속 소녀에 관해 밝혀보았다. 이러한 연구를 통해 <남향집>이 1947년경 제작되고 1960년대 후반 재제작되었다는 주장에 대한 반증으로 작품에 대한 사실을 밝혀 보고자 하였다. 먼저 <남향집>이 일제강점기 개성 초당집 사진의 구도, 기물 등과 일치하지 않다는 주장에 관해 개성집 초당집 사진과 <남향집> 작품을 유족의 증언을 토대로 비교․분석하여 일치함을 증명하였다. 그리고 <남향집>의 소재가 전남 화순 동복의 오지호집이라는 주장에 대해 오지호 동복집은 기와집으로 기와집을 초가집으로 바꾸어 <남향집>을 그릴 수 없다는 근거를 제시하였다. 보존상태가 양호하여 해방 후 재제작 되었다거나 앞, 뒷면이 달라 보필하였다는 주장에 대해 1948년 오지호 개인전을 도운 김은수의 회상의 글을 근거로 당시 개성시기 현존하는 작품이 완벽한 상태였으며 1955년 오지호가 목조로 지은 작품 친화적인 오지호 화실을 통해 반증하였다. 그리고 국립현대미술관에서 2008년 오지호 작품 27점을 과학적 분석한 자료를 토대로 해방 후에 오지호가 작품을 덧칠하거나 재제작 했을 가능성이 희박함을 밝혔다. 본 연구의 <남향집>의 제작시기, 재료분석, 작품분석을 통해 한국적 인상주의를 완성한 오지호와 <남향집>에 관해 정당한 평가를 받을 수 있을 것이다. South Facing House is considered a seminal work by Oh Ji-ho who works in a kind of Korean-style Impressionism based on Korean nature. This painting features Sarangchae, a detached building of a residence used as a reception room for male guests, and a jujube tree in Chodangjip in Gaeseong where Oh resided from 1935 to 1944. This residence has been designated as a registered cultural property. This study raises an objection to an assertion that South Facing House was painted and complemented in 1947 or in the late 1960s. This study has verified that this work is a modern artwork painted in 1939 on the basis of literature, archived materials, and survey reports. It has also tried to elucidate the season and time of this painting and the girl appearing in this work based on the description of South Facing House that was on show at Oh’s 1948 solo exhibition under the title The Declining Sun. This has also verified the assertion that this work was not painted after Korea’s liberation from Japanese colonial rule. First of all, it has been proved that the setting of furniture and house hold items in South Facing House matches up with that of the photograph featuring Chodangjip through a comparative analysis on the basis of the bereaved family’s testimony. As to the assertion that South Facing House is a depiction of Oh’s house in Dongbok, Hwasoon, Jeonnam, this study provides evidence that the that thatched-roof house in South Facing House could not have been painted from the roof-tiled house in Dongbok. It has also proved its opposition against the assertion that this work was produced after liberation in consideration of its preservation and material, based on an essay by Kim Eun-soo who assisted at Oh’s 1948 solo exhibition. This study has revealed that the possibility of this work being repainted or reproduced by Oh after liberation is extremely low based on the materials of 27 pieces which the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea scientifically analyzed. A reasonable evaluation of Oh Ji-ho s Korean-style impressionism and his work South Facing House can be made through an analysis of the production period and materials.

      • Combustion characteristics of gaseous inverse O<sub>2</sub>/H<sub>2</sub> coaxial jet flames in a single-element model combustor

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>To effectively design hydrogen (H<SUB>2</SUB>)/oxygen (O<SUB>2</SUB>) liquid rocket engines through understanding the combustion characteristics of H<SUB>2</SUB>/O<SUB>2</SUB> bipropellants, fundamental studies for the bipropellants in different phases are needed. This study is focused on the combustion characteristics of inverse gaseous O<SUB>2</SUB>/H<SUB>2</SUB> coaxial jet flames in a single-element model combustor as a preliminary step for succeeding studies of injection at different phases in the combustor, visualizing flame structure by direct imaging, OH<SUP>∗</SUP> chemiluminescence and OH planar laser-induced fluorescence. With increasing Reynolds number (Re), the frequency of occurrence of the local flame extinction increases and the length of the disconnected OH reaction zone is extended. The OH layer thickness increases downstream, while it is almost constant where the local flame extinction occurs and decreases with increasing Re due to the enhanced strain and scalar-dissipation rates. The excessive flame wrinkledness increases the local flame strain rate and results in the local flame extinction, exhibiting the tendency of increasing and then decreasing flame surface density with increasing Re. The probability density function of OH intensity quantifies the fluctuation intensity of OH radicals and the possibility of the local flame extinction. A useful database is provided for modeling the combustion of H<SUB>2</SUB>/O<SUB>2</SUB> bipropellants under different phases.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A useful database for modeling the H<SUB>2</SUB>/O<SUB>2</SUB> bipropellant combustion is provided. </LI> <LI> Local flame extinction frequently occurs at high Reynolds number (<I>Re</I>). </LI> <LI> OH probability density function indicates the possibility of local extinction. </LI> <LI> Flame surface density increases and then decreases with increasing <I>Re</I>. </LI> <LI> Strong burning of O<SUB>2</SUB>/H<SUB>2</SUB> causes laminar-like combustion near the injector lip. </LI> </UL> </P>

        지역문학에 나타난 폭력의 몇 가지 양상

        본고는 대전충남지역의 몇몇 문인들의 작품들을 중심으로 지역문학에 나타난 폭력의 몇 가지 양상들을 살펴보았다. 지역문학은 지배적인 문학에 대한 거부, 특히 지배적인 언어가 가진 헤게모니를 거부하고, 지배문화의 언어를 바꾸어 재구성함으로써 피지배 문화의 경험과 전통을 전달하는 대항문학으로서의 가능성을 지닌 문학이다. 본고에서는 대전충남지역문학을 대표하는 세 명의 작가들의 작품들을 중심으로 현실에 편재하는 폭력성을 오늘의 지역문학이 어떤 방식으로 형상화하고 있는지를 살펴본 결과 다음과 같은 세 가지 유형을 구분해낼 수 있었다. 이는 지젝이 구분한 세 가지 폭력 유형, 즉 주관적 폭력, 구조적 폭력, 상징적 폭력에 그대로 대응된다. 고립된 주체의 내면과 환상을 통해 외부세계에 편재해 있는 불가시적인 폭력, 즉 구조적 폭력을 문제시한 최상규와, 모든 사물을 의미있음과 하나의 본질로 환원해 버리는 상징적 폭력에 대해 의미없음의 폐색된 공간으로서의 ‘대천’이란 실제하는 지역과 지역민의 삶을 대안으로 제시하는 서희, 그리고 폭력이 편재하는 세상에서 어떤 것이 더 죄/악인가의 문제를 제기한 유용주 등은 각기 자기만의 방식과 언어로 현실 속에 내재한 폭력을 소설로 형상화하고 있다. 제도화된 권력의 폭력성과 잔인함, 모든 권력과 재화를 얻는 방법은 오직 폭력뿐인 현실 속에서 침묵은 더 이상 폭력에 맞서는 대응책이 될 수 없다. 폭력에 대한 대응은 폭력을 논하는 언어, 담론의 힘, 담론의 폭력으로부터 나올 수 있으며, 이는 지배적인 보편언어에 저항하는 힘을 지닌 지역 문학이 폭력에 어떻게 대응해왔고, 또한 대응할 수 있었으며, 앞으로 어떻게 대응해 나가야할 것인지에 대한 탐색과 무관하지 않을 것이다. The aim of This paper is to shed light on the method of representation of violence in DaejeonㆍChungnam regional literature. According to Zizek, there are three types of violence today; subjective violence, systemic represented, symbolic violence. This paper found out Zizek’ three types of violence in DaejeonㆍChungnam regional literature, especially Choe, sang-gyu’ short stories and novels, Seo, hee’ short stories, and Yu, yong-ju’ novels. Choe, sang-gyu’ short stories and novels represented the systemic violence in the society of capitalism. Seo, hee’ short stories represented the symbolic represented. And Yu, yong-ju’ novels represented the subjective violence. Today, regional literature has the characters the anti??literature.

        Algal bioassay 에 의한 조류생장 제한영양염류 결정

        Determination of Limiting Nutrient for Algal Growth by Algal Bioassay. Oh, Hee-Mock, Seog June Lee, Seong-Bin Kim, Mi- Kyung Park, Byung-Dae Yoon and Do-Han Kim (Environmental Microbiology Research Unit, Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Taejon 305-333, Korea and Water Resources Research Institute, Korea Water Resources Corporation, Taejon 305-390, Korea) Water quaiity and algal growth potential (AGP) using Microcystis aeruginosa were investigated from April to September 1997 in Daechung Reservoir. Secchi disk transparency was 1.1 m in August. Chlorophyll-a concentrations were higher than 10㎍/l at all samples. Total phosphorus concentration was in a range of 0.020∼0.027mg/l which is at the approximate value of 0.03 mg/l, the general critical level of eutrophication. These results indicate that Daechung Reservoir is in an eutrophic state except some temporary times and restricted sites. Phosphorus uptake rate of M. aeruginosa was higher in the water from the epilimnion than in the hypolimnion and also higher under light condition than under dark condition. Therefore, phosphorus uptake rate appears to depend on cellular phosphorous content and light condition, a meaning of endergonic process. Phosphorus was the most frequently limiting nutrient: phosphorus was limiting algal gowth in April and May, nitrogen, phosphorus and trace elements were the limiting factors for algae in August, and trace elements in September. If a fast growing alga, M, aeruginosa, is used as a test organism for assaying AGP, in vivo fluorescence instead of dry weight can be measured for algal biomass and incubation period can be reduced from traditional 14 days to 7 days.

        Role of LuxIR Homologue AnoIR in Acinetobacter nosocomialis and the Effect of Virstatin on the Expression of anoR Gene

        Quorum sensing is a process of cell-to-cell communication in which bacteria produce autoinducers as signaling molecules to sense cell density and coordinate gene expression. In the present study, a LuxI-type synthase, AnoI, and a LuxR-type regulator, AnoR, were identified in Acinetobacter nosocomialis, an important nosocomial pathogen, by sequence analysis of the bacterial genome. We found that N-(3-hydroxy-dodecanoyl)-L-homoserine lactone (OH-dDHL) is a quorum-sensing signal in A. nosocomialis. The anoI gene deletion was responsible for the impairment in the production of OH-dDHL. The expression of anoI was almost abolished in the anoR mutant. These results indicate that AnoI is essential for the production of OH-dDHL in A. nosocomialis, and its expression is positively regulated by AnoR. Moreover, the anoR mutant exhibited deficiency in biofilm formation. In particular, motility of the anoR mutant was consistently and significantly abolished compared with that of the wild type. The deficiency in the biofilm formation and motility of the anoR mutant was significantly restored by a functional anoR, indicating that AnoR plays important roles in the biofilm formation and motility. Furthermore, the present study showed that virstatin exerts its effects on the reduction of biofilm formation and motility by inhibiting the expression of anoR. Consequently, the combined results suggest that AnoIR is a quorum-sensing system that plays important roles in the biofilm formation and motility of A. nosocomialis, and virstatin is an inhibitor of the expression of anoR.

      • 산소유리라디칼이 뇌조직 미크로좀분획의 Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase 활성도에 미치는 영향

        중추신경계의 혈관폐쇄 또는 충격손상에 의한 허혈병소에서 진행되는 병리적 변화에 산소유리라디칼이 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 시사되고 있다. 저자는 산소유리라디칼이 뇌조직에 미치는 영향 중 특히 신경세포 정지막전위 유지에 중요한 Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase의 활성도에 미치는 영향을 관찰하기 위하여 산틴산화효소 반응계와 뇌조직미크로좀을 이용하여 본 연구를 시행하였다. 미크로좀분획(microsomal fraction)을 산틴과 산틴산화효소와 함께 반응시켰을 때, 분획의 Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase의 활성도는 현저한 불활성화를 보인 반면, Mg<sup>++</sup>-ATPase의 활성도는 별로 영향을 받지 않았다. 이 불활성화는 산틴과 신틴산화효소 중 어느 한 물질이라도 반응계에 존재하지 않는 경우에는 나타나지 않았고, 두 물질이 같이 반응계에 존재할 때 나타났다. 산틴과 산틴산화효소의 반응에서 생성되는 산소유리라디칼들 중, 어떤 것이 Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase불활성화에 관계하고 있는가를 알아보기 위하여, 산수유리라디칼 각각에 대하여 제독작용을 가진 효소나 화학물질을 사용하여 불활성화의 저해유무를 관찰하였다. O<sup>-</sup><sub>2</sub>⋅의 제독효소인 superoxide dismutase, H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>의 제독효소인 catalase와 <sup>1</sup>O<sub>2</sub>의 제독물질인 1,4-diazabixyclo(2,2,2)octane을 각각 사용하였을 때, 이들 물질들이 농도에 비례하여 Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase의 불활성화가 저해되었다. 그러나 OH⋅의 제독물질인 mannitol은 뚜렷한 효과를 보이지 못했다. 이상의 결과는 산소유리라디칼들 중 O<sup>-</sup><sub>2</sub>⋅, H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> 및 <sup>1</sup>O<sub>2</sub>가 Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase의 불활성화에 관계하고 있고, OH⋅는 거의 관계하지 않는다는 것을 시사하여 주었다. 이로 미루어, 산소유리라디칼에 의한 뇌조직 Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase의 불활성화는 뇌 허혈병소에서 관찰되는 신경세로의 기능적 장해를 유발시키는 한 요인으로 사료되었다. The effects of xanthine-xanthine oxidase reaction on brain microsomal Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase activity were studied to see possible involvement of oxygen free radicals in pathologic change occurring in ischemic state of CNS accompanied by cerebral vascular occlusion or impact injury. When microsomal fraction was incubated with xanthine ana xanthine oxidase, Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase activity of the fraction was markedly inactivated (80% inactivation) whereas btssl Mg<sup>++</sup>-ATPase was much less sensitive (less than 10% inactivation) compared to that of Na<sup>+</sup>-K<sup>+</sup>-ATPase. The inactivation was observed only in the presence of both xanthine and xanthine oxidase, not either of them alone, and the extent of inactivation was dependent on the concentration of xanthine. In an attempt to determine which of the oxygen species was responsible for the inactivation, the ability of various scavengers to overcome the inactivation was tested. Superoxide dismutase, catalase and 1,4-diazabicyclo(2,2,2)octane were shown to reverse the inactivation of the ATPase in dose-dependent manner. In contrast, mannitol as well as other OH⋅quenchers were ineffective in limiting oxygen radical-induced inactivation. Thus OO<sup>-</sup><sub>2</sub>⋅, H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub> and <sup>1</sup>O<sub>2</sub> were implicated to be mediators involved in the inactivation. Since oxygen radicals are suspected as being a cause of the peroxidative damaging process in train ischemia, the ATPase inactivation by oxygen radicals may be a possible contributing factor which gives rise to functional derangement of nerve cells observed in the pathologic process.

      • 모델연소실 내 GCH₄/GO₂ 및 GH₂ /GO₂ 동축류 제트화염의 연소특성 기초 연구

        로켓 엔진의 차세대 액체이원추진제로서 각광을 받고 있는 메탄(CH₄)/산소(O₂) 이원추진제의 기초연소특성 및 연소 안정화의 고유특성 확인을 위해 수소(H2)/산소 이원추진제 연소특성과 비교 연구를 수행하였다. 기초 연소특성 연구를 위한 모델연소실 내에서 기체 메탄(GCH₄)/기체 산소(GO₂) 및 기체수소(GH₂)/GO₂의 동축류 제트화염의 연소안정한계와 직접 사진, OH<SUP>*</SUP> 자발광 이미지를 측정한 결과, GCH₄/GO₂와 GH₂/GO₂ 모두 산소-연료 모멘텀비((O/F)mom)가 감소함에 따라 연소안정한계는 확장되는 경향을 보였으나 GH₂/GO₂ 화염에 비해 GCH₄/GO₂ 화염은 좁은 연소안정한계가 측정되었고, 또한 GCH₄/GO₂ 화염은 이론당량비 조건에서, GH2/GO₂ 화염은 연료과농 조건에서 최대 OH* 강도가 측정됨을 OH<SUP>*</SUP> 자발광 가시화를 통해 확인하였다. Liquid methane (CH₄)/oxygen (O₂) bipropellants have been recently considered as a next-generation propellant due to eco-friendly and non-toxic properties, low cost and high performance. To investigate the unique features of CH₄/O₂ bipropellants, the fundamental combustion characteristics of gaseous CH₄/O₂ and H₂/O₂ coaxial jet flames in a model combustor are investigated through measuring the combustion stability limits and visualizing flames. Results show that the combustion stability limits of GCH₄/GO₂ flames are reduced compared with the GH₂/GO₂ flames. The maximum OH<SUP>*</SUP> intensity of GCH₄/GO₂ flames is observed at near-stoichiometric condition, while the GH₂/GO₂ flames at fuel-rich condition.

      • Bacillus species related to food poisoning

        The major concern in the food industry is the outgrowth of pathogenic Bacillus species which have the potential to cause a food poisoning incident. Bacillus cereus is the most prevalent pathogenic Bacillus species found in food and other industrial processes. However, other species in the genus Bacillus, including B. subtilis, B. licheniformis, B. brevis, B. pumilus and B. thuringiensis have been implicated as potential agents of food poisoning.

      • 일종합병원 입원환자의 불안에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anxiety of inpatients in a general hospital in Daejeon. Data were collected through self-reported questionaires from January, 2003 to February, 2003, The anxiety was measured by Zung's Self-Rating Anxiety Scale. Analysis of data was done was descriptive statistics, t-test ANOVA and factor analysis. The results of the study were as follows : (1) The average score for the level of anxiety was 37.75±8.44 point (2) The anxiety items, such as sweating. apprehension, dyspnea, insomnia and restlessness showed the high score in inpatient. (3) Anxiety showed significant difference by education level(p<0.01), duration of hospitasization (p<0.01), prognosis(p(0.05), ward(medical/surgical) (p{0.05), experienc of admission (p<0.05). (4) According to the factor analysis, four factors of sweating, apprehension, dyspnea and restlessness showed high score in inpatient. Inpatient's anxiety characteristically showed more somatic symptoms than affective symptoms.

        가정 호흡재활 프로그램 관련 연구 논문 분석

        Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the trend of research on the use of home-based pulmonary rehabilitation. Method: Using Medline and CINAHL search engine, experiemental research, titled as 'home-based pulmonary rehabilitation' and 'chronic lung disease', statistics were collected. The total 29 experimental studies published between 1981 to 2000 were selected and analyzed according to the ATS guidelines. Result: 1) The study samples in research were mostly of men, whose lung function was moderate to severe. 2) The total period of the intervention program varied from 5 to 12 week. The program included excercise intervention and educational intervention. Psychosocial intervention was minimal. 3) The outcome of the home-based pulmonary rehabilitation had been measured mostly by physical aspects. Quality of life and cost were less frequently measured. 4) In terms of effectiveness of the home based pulmonary rehabilitation program, physiologic outcome, such as lung function and hematologic markers, there was more 'no effect' than 'positive effect', whereas there was more 'positive effect' in decreasing dyspnea, improving excercise capacity, and improving quality of life. Conclusion: Based on these findings, future research on home-based pulmonary rehabilitation should be emphasized and provide standardized protocol, including psychosocial intervention, and analyses on cost and quality of life.
