In this paper, we investigated the maximum ankle joint plantarflexion moment (MPM) of young and elderly subjects during various modes of isokinetic contractions with special interest in the elderly females who were reported to have higher fall rate than the elderly males. Subjects include the young subjects (14 males: 22.7±2.5yrs, 13 females: 20.5±1.3yrs) and the elderly subjects (17 males: 65.8±10.5yrs, 26 females: 71.4±5.2yrs). The MPM was normalized by each subject's body weight. The MPM of elderly females was the weakest among the groups, particularly, at the eccentric contractions. The male-to-female ratio of MPM was greater in the elderly than in the young and the young-to-elderly ratio of MPM was greater in female than in male, both during the eccentric contractions. The result suggests that the decreased muscle force per body weight, especially at the eccentric contraction, may be one reason for the more frequent fall of the elderly female than the elderly male.

Inheritance and concurrency are the primary feature of object oriented languages, and are especially important for code re-use. They provide maximum computational power and modeling power through concurrency of objects. But, concurrent objects and inheritance have conflicting characteristics, thereby simultaneously use of them causes the problem, so called inheritance anomaly, which requires code redefinition of inherited methods to maintain integrity of objects. In this paper, to solve the inheritance anomaly problems we introduce concept of state abstraction, in which internal states of encapsulated objects are made available from a part of object's external interface. And we design the abstract states based inheritance interface mechanisms which methods are inherited efficiently. In our scheme, we can solve the typical inheritance anomaly problems.
생태적 접근에의한 도시공간 계획의 뉴 패러다임에 관한 연구

This study is based on the Ecological Design Theories related with the Urban space planning. The purpose of this study is to propose the Urban Space Design Method in consideration of Ecological Environment. To achieve this purpose, Normative Theory Study which means Logical Analysis of Ecological Theories in the new field of Ecological Urban Design, is done in accordance with the object of this study. This results derived of this study are as follows: 1. Six(6)-Ecological Urban Planning Elements related with the purpose of this study, were clarified : these are Land-use planning, Transfortation planning, Ecological System planning of plant sand Living-things, A Culturral planning related with water, Energy and resource planning, and Urban-amenity planning. 2. Urban Space Design Method in consideration of Ecological Environment was porposed by means of the Normative theroy study analysis and contents analysis related with Ecological Urban planning which contain Ecological Planning Elements.
비누화 PC88A에 의한 NdCl₃와 SmCl₃용매추출의 화학모델

A chemical model was developed to estimate equilibrium constant for the solvent extraction of Nd and Sm from chloride solution with saponified PC88A. The model could be employed to predict the distribution coefficient of metal from the initial extraction conditions. The model consisted of chemical equilibria, mass balance, charge balance and solvent extraction reaction. By applying the model to the experimental conditions and data, equilibrium constants for the solvent extraction of Nd and Sm were obtained. The effect of the saponification of PC88A on the extraction of Nd was explained in terms of the equilibrium constant obtained in this study and the change of equilibrium pH. The predicted distribution coefficients of Nd and Sm agreed well with those measured. (Received July 14, 2004)

The purpose of this study is to develop the Behavior Approach Design Methodology focused on the Unit-Plan of the Seo-Min Apartments and also, search for suitable size, numbers of room, and arrangement of living-unit spaces which can be statisfied with the Seo-Min apartment's residents on their behavioral aspects. The Behavior Approach Model is established, and through case studies, it will be testified. To achieve this purpose, questionnaires are made in accordance with the object of this study. Data are analyzed by SPSS-PC+ program(Frequency Analysis, Factor Analysis, Multi-Regression Analysis), as well as Cognitive Mapping method and Trade-off Game method. Based on the results derived of case studies, Design-guidelines are presented, and the Behavior Unit-Plan of Seo-Min is suggested. Finally The Behavior Approach Model for the Seo-Min Apartment's Unit-Plan design is proposed.

Solvent extraction experiments of Sm were performed from chloride solution with PC88A and saponified PC88A. Solvent extraction reaction of Sm with PC88A and the corresponding equilibrium constant were evaluated from the experimental and ionic equilibria data as follows Sm^(3+)_(aq)+ 1.5H₂A_(2,org)= SmA_(3,org)+ 3H^(+)_(aq) , K = 0.33. The predicted distribution coefficients of Sm agreed well with the experimental results. The distribution coefficients of Sm with saponified PC88A and the values of equilibrium pH depended on the initial extraction conditions. When the concentration of PC88A was in excess of that of Sm, saponification of PC88A greatly enhanced the extraction of Sm. (Received June 21, 2004)

Since 1960s, the cityward tendency of the population and the housing shortage have occurred in korea. As a result of them and the lack of intension of residential design which architects and housing developer's should have, high-rise apartments which have just box-shaped form, have been developded for over thirty years. So similar block types composed of standardized units and the monotonous arrangement of buildings have caused the characterless residential environment and the absence of building facade's identity have confused resident's orientation and territory. Therefore, residents are not visually satisfied with these building facade, nor do they have an attachment, affection, and rootedness of their apartment. Because of these reasons, it should be diversified and characterizd to be preferable to residents and people, and apartment's facades design also has to be approached by the user's visual preferences and behavior needs. This paper which begins under the recogniton of these problems, clarified the possbility of variation of high-rise apartment facades to improve the quality of its facade according to a visual perception.
