        치과용 앨지네이트의 국산화를 위한 규격 및 안전성에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the setting time, viscosity, surface detail reproduction, working time, permanent deformation, strain in compression, compressive strength, temperature rise during gelation, differential thermal analysis, acidity and toxicological properties of representative fourteen commercially available dental alginate impression materials (AG, AP, AR, CC, ID-Ⅰ, ID-Ⅱ, JT, KG, PG, PC-I, PC-Ⅱ, SM-I, SM-Ⅱ and ZG) and three experimental dental alginate impression materials(Exp A, Exp B and Exp C). These tests were performed by the methods of KDA specification No. 8, ISO specification No. 1563 and ANSI/ADA specification No. 18. Form the experiments, the following results can be drawn: 1. The setting time of the fast setting types showed considerable differences according to the products, but there was no significant difference in setting time of the normal setting types. The significantly difference of viscosity values for the normal setting types was observed with various commercial products, but there was no significant difference for the fast setting types. 2. The reproduction of surface detail of the normal setting types was higher than that of the fast setting types, and the working time of the alginate impression materials showed considerable difference according to the products. 3. The permanent deformation of the fast setting types was lower than that of the normal setting types, and the strain in compression, the compressive strength, and the temperature rise during gelation of alginate impression materials showed considerable differences according to the products. 4. The rapid endothermic temperature curves of the alginate impression materials proceed at 127.0℃∼134.7℃, and the exothermic temperature curves showed at 327.7℃∼367.0℃ 5. The acidity of the alginate impression materials showed considerable differences according to the products, and the fast setting types was lower than that of the normal setting types. 6. The results indicated that the dental alginate ingredients did not increased the frequencies of micronucleated polychromatic erythrocytes when compared with negative controls.

      • 기초주변지반의 마이크로 파일 보강에 의한 지지력 증가효과에 관한 연구

        본 연구에서는 기초주변에 설치된 마이크로 파일의 길이와 보강범위에 따른 지반의 지지력 증가효과를 실내모형실험을 통하여 조사하였다. 실험 결과, 마이크로 파일의 최적 길이와 보강 범위가 제안되었다. 또한, 기초 직하에 설치된 마이크로 파일의 지지력과도 비교하였다. In this study, the increase in the bearing capacity of soil due to the variation of length and reinforcement scope of the micropiles installed near the foundation was investigated using model tests. From the test results, the length and the optimum reinforcement scope were proposed. In order to improve micropiles field application, it was compared with the increase in the bearing capacity for micropiles installed directly beneath the foundation.

        치과용 아말감의 열반응에 관한 연구

        The aim of the present investigation was assess the thermal reaction during hardening of representative fourteen commercially available conventional dental amalgam alloys: DA HA HV KA AC CA FC IH MM OT SS SCA SA UT and six high-copper dental amalgam alloys: A-21 KS LA OP PM PA used in Korea. These tests were performed with a thermistor probe (YSI Model 42 SC) using physiograph(MK-IV, Narco, Biosystems, U.S.A.). The peak temperature of the thermal reactions of dental amalgams were determined by the mean value of three measurements. From the experiments, the results were as follows: 1. The results indicate that the peak temperature of exothermic reactions of the conventional amalgams was attained during 7.67 ±1.76℃ and 15.50 ±0.50℃, respectively. 2. The results suggest that the exothermic peak temperature for the high-copper amalgams was considerably higher than those of the conventional amalgams. 3. The results for the recommended ratio revealed significant increases in exothermic reactions and the (+) modified ratio showed significantly less exothermic reactions than the (-) modified ratio. 4. The results show that the peak temperature rise of dental amalgams was attained during 7.17 ±0.29℃ and 24.17 ±0.29℃ according to the type of amalgamators, respectively.

        백서의 하악골 전방 재위치 시 하악과두 조직에서의 nitric oxide synthases 발현 양상

        Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the expression of nitric oxide synthases (NOS) in the mandibular condyle during mandible advancement by functional appliance and to correlate it with the histologic changes and bone remodeling. Methods: Twenty-four female, 35-day-old Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into 3 experimental groups. In all experimental groups, the mandibles of the rats were kept in a continuous forward position with a fixed bite jumping appliance. The rats were sacrificed on the 3rd, 14th, and 30th days of experiment. More than 2 rats in each group were used for staining. Results: There were no remarkable histologic changes and NOS expression differences in the control group. The most prominent histologic changes occurred in the 14th day experimental group. NOS decreased in the 30th day experimental group. There was increased expression of NOS₂ and NOS₃ in all experimental groups, comparative to the control group. In all the experimental groups and control group, the expression of NOS₂ was greater than that of NOS₃. Conclusions: It is postulated that NOS₂ and NOS₃ in the mandibular condyle might play an important role in bone remodelling of the mandibular condyle. 성장기 아동의 하악과두 조직에서의 골개조 과정은 연골세포, 조골세포, 파골세포가 연관되며 nitric oxide synthase (NOS)가 중요한 매개자의 하나로 작용할 것으로 생각되나 기능성 악정형술을 이용해 하악골을 전방유도시켰을 때 하악과두에서의 골개조와 NOS 의 발현에 대해서는 아직 자세히 연구되어 있지 않다. 본 연구는 하악골을 기능적으로 전방위치시켰을 때 하악과두 조직의 조직학적 변화양상에 대해 살펴보고 NOS 의 발현 정도를 조사하여 상관관계를 알아보고자 하였다 . 35일령의 24마리의 Sprague-Dawley 백서를 3군으로 나누었고 각 군에 있어서 5 마리는 실험군으로 3마리는 대조군으로 나누었다. 실험군은 하악골 전방유도장치를 24시간 장착한 후 3, 14, 30 일에 희생하였으며 시상면에 평행하게 절단하였고 NOS₂와 NOS₃의 조직면역염색을 통해 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 대조군 간에는 조직학적인 변화와 NOS 의 발현 번화가 뚜렷이 관잘되지는 않았으며 실험기간에 따른 조직학적 변화는 실험 14일 군에서 가장 많은 신생골 형성과 조골세포 활성을 보였으며, 실험 30 일 군에서는 감소하는 양상으로 나타났다. 또한 모든 실험군에서 대조군에 비해 NOS₂와 NOS₃의 발현이 많이 나타났으며 실험기간에 따른 비교 시 NOS₂와 NOS₃의 발현은 실험 14 일 군에서 가장 많이 나타났으며 실힘 30 일 군에서는 감소하는 양상으로 나타났다. 전체 실험군과 대조군에서 NOS₂의 발현은 NOS₃의 발현보다 많이 나타났고 NOS₂는 실험군 과두의 비대연골, 연골하골에서 주로 발현되었다. NOS₃는 실험군 과두의 골수와 모세혈관에서 주로 발현되었다. 따라서 하악과두 내의 NOS₂와 발현조절이 하악과두 조직의 골개조에 관여함을 시사한다.

      • Regulatory Effect of Matcha Green Tea on Fine Dust-Exposed Cytotoxicity in Respiratory System

        This study was performed to evaluate the protective effect of matcha green tea on particulate matter (PM)2.5-indued nasal and pulmonary cytotoxicity. The matcha green tea increased the cell viability and inhibited the ROS production in PM2.5-induced cytotoxicity in nasal RPMI2650 and pulmonary A549 cells. The matcha green tea regulated the expression of apoptosis, such as p-Akt, BCl-2, caspase-3, caspase-1 and HO-1, and inflammation, such as TLR4, TLR4 and Nrf2, in PM2.5-indued RPMI2650 cells. In addition, the matcha green tea showed regulatory effect of the apoptosis and inflammatory effect by increasing the BCl-2 and suppressing the caspase-3, TLR4, TNF-α and COX-2 in A549 cells. In addition, the matcha green tea suppressed antioxidant deficits by regulating the reduced GSH contents, SOD activities and MDA levels, and ameliorated the mitochondrial dysfunction by regulating the mitochondrial ROS production, mitochondrial membrane potential and ATP contents in pulmonary tissue. Ultimately, consumption of matcha green tea down-regulated the inflammatory proteins such as TNF-α, p-JNK, p-IκB-α, p-NF-κB and COX-2 in lung tissue.

        Glycyrrhizin and Morroniside Stimulate Mucin Secretion from Cultured Airway Epithelial Cells

        In this study, we investigated whether glycyrrhizin, prunetin and morroniside affect mucin secretion from cultured airway epithelial cells and compared the possible activities of these agents with the inhibitory action on mucin secretion by poly-L-lysine (PLL) and the stimulatory action by adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Confluent primary hamster tracheal surface epithelial (HTSE) cells were metabolically radiolabeled using $^{3}H-glucosamine$ for 24 h and chased for 30 min in the presence of varying concentrations of each agent to assess the effects on $^{3}H-mucin$ secretion. The results were as follows: 1) glycyrrhizin and morroniside increased basal mucin secretion from airway; 2) prunetin did not affect basal mucin secretion; 3) glycyrrhizin did not inhibit ATP-induced mucin secretion. We conclude that glycyrrhizin and morroniside can increase basal mucin secretion, by directly acting on airway mucin-secreting cells and suggest that two compounds be further investigated for the possible use as mild expectorants during the treatment of inflammatory airway diseases.

        Phellopterin Suppresses Airway Mucin Secretion induced by Adenosine Triphosphate

        Angelicae Dahiricae Radix has been used for controlling inflammatory respiratory diseases in oriental medicine and their components, phellopterin, isoimperatorin and byakangelicol were reported to have various biological effects. In this study, we investigated whether phellopterin, isoimperatorin and byakangelicol affect adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-induced mucin secretion from cultured airway epithelial cells. Confluent primary hamster tracheal surface epithelial (HTSE) cells were metabolically radiolabeled using 3H-glucosamine for 24 h and chased for 30 min in the presence of varying concentrations of each agent to assess the effects on 3H-mucin secretion. The results were as follows: 1) phellopterin significantly inhibited ATP-induced mucin secretion; 2) However, isoimperatorin and byakangelicol did not affect ATP-induced mucin secretion, significantly. This result suggests that phellopterin can regulate ``mucin secretion induced by ATP`` -a phenomenon simulating mucus overproduction from inflamed airway epithelial cells-by directly acting on airway mucin-secreting cells. Therefore, phellopterin should further be investigated for the possible use as mucoregulators in the treatment of inflammatory airway diseases.

        Impact of Alcohol Consumption on Quality of Life, Depressive Mood and Metabolic Syndrome in Obstructive Lung Disease Patients: Analysis of Data from Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2014 and 2016

        BackgroundThe objective of this study was to investigate whether alcohol consumption might affect the quality of life (QOL), depressive mood, and metabolic syndrome in patients with obstructive lung disease (OLD). MethodsData were obtained from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey from 2014 and 2016. OLD was defined as spirometry of forced expiratory volume in 1 second/forced vital capacity <0.7 in those aged more than 40 years. QOL was evaluated using the European Quality of Life Questionnaire-5D (EQ-5D) index. Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) was used to assess the severity of depressive mood. Alcohol consumption was based on a history of alcohol ingestion during the previous month. ResultsA total of 984 participants with OLD (695 males, 289 females, age 65.8±9.7 years) were enrolled. The EQ-5D index was significantly higher in alcohol drinkers (n=525) than in non-alcohol drinkers (n=459) (0.94±0.11 vs. 0.91±0.13, p=0.002). PHQ-9 scores were considerably lower in alcohol drinkers than in non-alcohol drinkers (2.15±3.57 vs. 2.78±4.13, p=0.013). However, multiple logistic regression analysis showed that alcohol consumption was not associated with EQ-5D index or PHQ-9 score. Body mass index ≥25 kg/m2, triglyceride ≥150 mg/dL, high-density lipoprotein <40 mg/dL in men and <50 mg/dL in women, and blood pressure ≥130/85 mm Hg were significantly more common in alcohol drinkers than in non-alcohol drinkers (all p<0.05). ConclusionAlcohol consumption did not change the QOL or depressive mood of OLD patients. However, metabolic syndrome-related factors were more common in alcohol drinkers than in non-alcohol drinkers.

        Effect of Imperatorin on Adenosine Triphosphate-stimulated Mucin Secretion from Airway Epithelial Cells

Therefore, imperatorin should further be investigated for the possible use as mucoregulators in the treatment of inflammatory airway diseases.
