        Antiangiogenic-Like Properties of Fermented Extracts of Ayurvedic Medicinal Plants

        The three ayurvedic medicinal plants, Withania somnifera, Emblica officinalis, and Bacopa monnieri, were extracted by high-pressure static extraction using the Zippertex® technology. The extracts were mixed to reach quantifiable amounts of active compounds identified by high-pressure liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS) analysis. The mixture of extracts was incubated with resting cells of the fungus Beauveria bassiana ATCC 7159. The fermentation promoted the fluidization of the starting dense mixture, while HPLC monitoring evidenced the disappearance of glucogallin from E. officinalis extract and the concomitant increase in gallic acid content. Topical exposure of the chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) to the nonfermented extract led to the extensive necrosis and destruction of the treated membrane. However, the fermented extract was shown to be free of any toxicity. Furthermore, compared with the untreated CAM, the fermented sample reduced CAM vascularization, suggesting its antiangiogenic potency. The innocuity of the fermented extract was demonstrated using the in vivo LD50 test, the morphological examination of internal organs of treated rats, as well as the evaluation of blood biomarkers of liver damage (aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase). The fermented extract was developed as a nutraceutical antiangiogenic treatment of age-related macular degeneration and commercialized in an oral form named Ethnodyne-Visio™.

        의료소비자의 관계혜태 지각이 관계의 질 및 행동의도에 미치는 영향

        Medical institutions are important to develop and maintain enduring relationship with medical service conswners. So, this research aims to find out the effect of medical service conswners perception of relational benefits on relationship quality and behavioral intention. On the basis of the literature review, the research model is established. This research has been done through the survey utilizing medical service consumers in Gangwondo, and the effective 368 questionnaires are tested for the research model. The main findings are as follows. First, among 5 key dimensions of relational benefits, psychological, customization, economic, and information benefits except social benefits have significant effects on relationship satisfaction. Also, medical institutions type and medical service consumers type as moderating variables are included concurrently, and the significant differences are found in other 4 benefits except relationship between social benefits and relationship satisfaction. Second, relationship satisfaction relates positively to relationship commitment and behavioral intention. But the normative commitment, one of 3 key dimensions of relationship commitment, has no significant effects on recommendation to others. Third, the revisit intention has significant effect on recommendation to others. Finally, the findings reveal that the overall goodness fit index of the model is comparatively good and model set in this research is significant. At the end of the research, managerial implications, limitations and future research directions are suggested.

        There has been no fixed rule of pre-processing course required to do image processing that it was barely possible to find the proper pre-processing course, only to process with experience till now. In this paper, lots of application method of pre-processing algorithm, only available by the non-typified and experiential method, shall quantify and the algorithm method of algorithm according to the rule shall calculate the frequency of the value of each pixel gray level and the histogrm of the image. And then average it to all pixel number and finally set a high-ranking or optional % standardized by the average value in teh standard value. The result of a experiment showed the Median filter is superior to the Mean filter in all image of the smoothing filter. The sobel filter extracted feature. The laplacian filter presented sectional feature which not showed in original image.

        A two-dimensional warranty policy is characterized by a region in a two-dimensional plane with one axis representing time or age and the other representing item usage, such as the age and mileage of an automobile. This paper proposes a new two-attributes warranty policy that the failed product is free-replaced by producer in the replacement and minimally free-repaired by producer in the repair regions. We obtain expressions for the expected warranty costs under some assumptions about usage and failure and illustrate through numerical examples.

        This study was conducted to discover the maost desirable height for shoe heels. An analysis of human kinematics and gaits according to different kinds of shoe heel heights was carried out. Walking, which is related to the locomotor and nervous systems, is different from running. It has some unique characteristics such as the double-supporing phase and the pelvis-centered smooth connections with tension and flexion which can make it possible to walk comfortably. The specific goals of this study are as follows: 1. To analyze the variables of gait cycles with respect to shoe heel height. 2. To analyze the variables of linear kinematics with respect to shoe heel height. 3. To analyze the variables of anguiar kinematics with respect to shoe heel height. 4. To discover the ideal heel height to promote a comfortable walking style. Limits of this study: 1. The processes of BSP and Yeadon-kwon were used. 2. The shoe heel heights investigated were 1. 0 cm(ie: bare foot) 2. 3cm 3. 5cm 4. 7cm 3. The equipment used in this experiment comprised of : a Panasonic VCR: VCR analyzer and analysis program: a Kwon "3D Mothion Anaysis" package. 4. The subjects of this experiment were 3 female collage students who are not used to wearing high heeled shoes: all are aerobics instuctors. with an exellent sense of equilibrium. The model of the human body is defined as a rigid body system connected by 19 jonts(for the purpose of this experiment the nose included as an imaginative joint to give precise direction). In order to reduce any displacement which may occur during didgitization. Iandmarkers were attatched to each of the 19 body segments of each subject. The subject were then asked to walk firstly in bare feet and then wearing shoes with a 3cm, 5cm, and then 7cm heel. A video camera zoom lens was used to record the subjects' walking patterns(RTD-LTO-LTD-RTO-RTD) for one complete gait cycle and the direction of the subject was defined wsing X and Y axes. After the digitization and interpolation of all frames the linear and angular variables which are necessary for the study were calculated. The results of this study are as follows: 1. The time taken to complete one gait cycle increases or decreases by a negligable amount as heel heights vary. It appears that the higher the heel is, the longer the length of each stride will be and the greater the horizontal displacement at the center of the body. 2. When a higher heel is worn vetical displacement is increased during the initial phaze of each gait cycle however when a lower heel is worn. vertical displacement is increased in the final phaze of the gait cycle. 3. The average horizontal speed of each phase increases, regardless of the height of the heel. 4. The vertical speed decreases. regardless of heel height in any gait cycle, the speed decreases with each consecutive phaze eg: in a cycle consisting of :RTD-LTO-LTD-RTO-RTD. the initial phaze from RTD to LTO will the fastest movement in the cycle. the speed will decrease with each concecutive phaze in the cycle. The second phaze of the gait (LTO to LTD) will be slower than the first, and the the final phaze (LTD to RTO to RTD) being the slowest in the cycle. (Overall. the rate of decrease in speed in the last the last phaze of any gait cycle is always slower than the decrease of the first two phazes. therefore we can put the last two phazes together to make one final phaze (LTD-RTO-RTD) as the decrease in speed is so small.) 5. For each motion variable, the difference in tension and flextion of lower body joints is not apparent, using any heel height. The tension and flextion in the shank and thigh is negligable with a 5cm or 7cm heel. The tension and flextion is the most apparent when using a 3cm heel. 6. The walking speed changes little according to heel height alterations. The common outcome is that there is a slow increase in speed after the LTO phase, so that when supporting body weight on the right foot, it is very hard to move on to a new 'centered' body weight position. No problem appears when using a 3cm-heel. however when walking bare foot. there is more pressure on L5 and on S1 than with a 3cm-heel. this is because walking is a forward-motion and the center of the body is left behind when walking bare foot. In conclusion, it is the 3cm-heeled shoe that is the most suitable height to promote a comfortable forward walking motion.

        홍삼 추출물이 반치사량정도의 방사선(5Gy)에 조사된 생쥐조직 및 이들 조직에서의 효소활성에 미치는 영향을 관찰하기 위하여 ICR계 생쥐를 대상으로, 생리적 식염수군을 대조구군으로 하여, 홍삼 추출물 투여군과 방사선만을 조사한군 및 홍삼 추출물 투여후 방사선 조사군 등 4군으로 나누어 1일, 4일, 9일, 17일 및 30일 등 5회에 걸쳐 생체의 조직중 비장 및 고환에서의 중량 변화 및 GOT와 GPT의 활성을 측정하여 결과를 얻었다. 비장의 중량변화는 1일째 및 4일째 최소치를 보이다가 이후 증가추세를 보였으며, 고환의 중량 변화는 17일 이후 급격한 감소로 30일에도 증가하지 못했다. GOT의 활성도 변화는 비장에서는 초기에 현저히 증가했으며 이후 회복하는 경향이었다. 방사선 조사군들에서는 홍삼추출물 투여군이 방사선만을 조사한 군보다 빠르게 회복하는 경향이었으며 고환에서의 GOT활성은 매우 불안정하였다. GPT 활성도 변화는 비장, 고환에서 모두 초기에 증가하다가 점차 회복하는 경향이었으며 홍삼 추출물 투여후 방사선 조사군이 방사선만을 조사한군보다 빠르게 회복하는 경향이었다. 이러한 결과로 볼 때 홍삼 추출물은 방사선 조사에 의하여 기인된 비장 및 고환의 GOT와 GPT활성도 증가에 방호효과가 있다고 생각된다. This study was prepared to observe the change of tissues weight, glutamate oxaloacetate transminase(GOT) and glutamate pyruvate transminase(GPT) activities in the spleen and testis treated with red ginseng extract injection in the gamma ray irradiated mice. Groups were divided into control, red ginseng extract injection, irradiation after saline injection and irradiation after red ginseng extract injection. The spleen and testis weights were decreased at 17th day irradiation after saline injection and irradiation after red ginseng extract injection. The GOT activity showed earlier recovery at irradiation after red ginseng extract injection group than irradiation after saline injection group in the spleen. The GPT activity showed earlier recovery at irradiation after red ginseng extract injection group than irradiation after saline injection group in the spleen and testis. The above result suggest that red ginseng extract have the recovery effect on the change GOT and GPT activity after radiation injury in the spleen and testis of mice.

Women and decompression Woman were more suspectible to deccompression sickness than men because of first. having more body fat tissue. second more supectible decompression due to stream of body fluid during mensturation. third unbalanced circulation due to birth control pill. The symptoms generating in diving of pregnanent women consist of squeeze, air embolism. Decompression sickness but these did not any problem on fetus. 3. Equipments for prevention of decompression sickness 1) Dive tables Many decompression tables developed on the basis of on U.S. Navy Diving Table used Haldene theory were NAUI. PEDI. BASAC etc. and the content composed in common was to avoid decompression sicness in safety stop(3min stop at 15 feet). The skill to be practice on dive tables conist of resign of repetitive diving letter. Adjusted Maximum Dive Time(AMDT). min. surface interval time). Allowable max. depth in repetitive diving. RNT. SIT etc. 2) Gagues The most popular gauage using to avoid decompression sickness were capillary type depth gauge. diaphragm type depth gauge, oil-filled type depth gauge, analog digital type, analog digital submersible type. dive computer. Particularly It is recommanded to use dive computer display accurate absorption of Nitrogen, depth to avoid penalty of 「maximum-time at maximum-depth」 in multi-level diving. 3) Decompression prevention It is said to redecompression to treat serious symptom of decompression & air embolism. operated in recompression chambers. If you omitted safety stop. It is necessory to position of shock prevention, must be rest providing with pure 100% oxygen certifing symptom of decompression sickness, and be carried to hyperbaric facility. The height of flying after dive must not be superceded 8000 feet, at least before 24 hours. It is desirable to dive shorter and deeper than shallower and longer diving when scheduled of flight.
