Objectives : The aim of this study is to review clinical studies on trigeminal neuralgia treatment through Korean Medicine. Methods : We used search engines such as KISS, RISS, KOREAMED and NDSL. We limited cases as idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia without comorbidities. We excluded dissertation. We considered papers published after year 2000. Results : Fourteen studies were searched for this study. Various treatments such as acupuncture therapy, herbal medicine, moxibustion therapy, manipulation, pharmocopuncture, vomiting therapy were practiced for trigeminal neuralgia. Conclusions : All study were case report and evidence level of the searched studies was not high. They reported meaningful improvement through Korean Medicine treatment and these studies implied effectiveness and safety of Korean Medicine for Trigeminal neuralgia.
국내 한 대학의 이공계 학생들의 학술교양영어 수업의 만족도와 요구에 대한 연구

본 연구는 국내 한 대학의 이공계 대학생들의 학술 목적의 교양영어 수업에 대한 학습자의 만족도를 조사하여 향후 수업 방안에 도움을 주기 위한 목적으로 실시했다. 본 연구는 인천의 한 국립 종합대의 이공계 학생을 위한 교양 필수 과목인 학술 교양영어를 수강한 166명의 공과대학과 자연대 학생들을 대상으로 했다. 자기 기재 방법 설문조사로 수집된 자료를 SPSS를 사용하여 분석했고 심층 면접 조사를 시행했다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 이공계 학습자를 위한 학술 교양영어 수업에 대해 수강 학생들은 전반적으로 강의 내용과 수업 수준에 만족했다. 참여 학생들은 교재에 대한 만족도와 평가방법 대해서도 전반적으로 만족감을 나타내고 있었다. 둘째, 약 64%의 참여 학생은 학술영어 과목을 통해서 읽기-듣기-쓰기-말하기 순으로 영어 능력 향상에 도움을 받았고, 이 과목을 통해 대다수 학생은 동기 부여에 도움을 받았다고 응답했다. 셋째, 학생들은 가장 충족되지 않은 부분은 영어 말하기로 더 많은 수업내용과 활동이 필요하다고 했으며, 영어의 네 가지 기능을 향상시킬 수 있는 내용과 활동을 모두 다루기 원했다. 이와 같은 연구 결과는 향후 학술영어 수업의 효과적인 프로그램 운영에 대한 구상에 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다. This study aimed to examine the satisfaction levels and needs of students majoring in science and engineering at a university in Korea and their educational provision for future EAP programs. The participants were 166 students attending a compulsory EAP course at a university in Incheon, Korea. Data collected from self-report questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS. An in-depth interview was also conducted. The results were as follows. First, the students’ needs for the course were met in terms of the lecture contents and the course level. Students also expressed satisfaction with their textbook, learning materials, and the testing method. Second, approximately 64 percent of the students indicated that their English skills improved in the order of reading, listening, speaking, and writing, and most of them answered that their course helped them improve their overall English proficiency and motivation. Third, participants chose speaking ability as the most unsatisfactory part of their course, and wanted more content and activities to develop their speaking abilities. Furthermore, they needed more materials to improve all four English language skills. These results could help implement an effective EAP course for future programs.
COVID-19 영향으로 인한 한국 이공계 대학생의 영어 온라인수업에 대한 인식 연구

This study investigated how Korean college students majoring in science and engineering perceived their general English course held online for one semester during the COVID-19 pandemic. A survey in which 166 students participated was conducted at the end of the first semester of 2020. The results were as follows. First, most of the participants preferred pre-recorded online lectures delivered by their professors. The most common reason given was the flexibility of being able to watch them repeatedly without any concerns about time and place. Second, the preferred evaluation method was to submit only assignments without testing, since students believed this could prevent cheating. Third, the drawbacks of online classes were identified as difficulties in acquiring learning strategies from professors, problems with fair evaluation, overloading assignments, and difficulties in self-motivation due to the absence of peers. Fourth, while the majority of the students had negative opinions about online classes, there were a few positive answers. Thus, this study indicates that the participants had different preferences for and abilities to adapt to online classes. Therefore, students should reflect on their needs for online classes in the future. Discussing customized online classes tailored to each individual who takes part may be one requirement.
한방복합치료로 난치성 통증을 동반한 요추 추간판탈출증이 호전된 증례보고

A 57-year-old female diagnosed with L5-S1 lumbar intervertebral disc herniation, suffering from severe pain despite taking tapentadol received combined Korean medicine treatment, including acupotomy, acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, and herbal therapies for 53 days. To assess pain, Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and lumbar range of motion (ROM) were checked daily from the day of admission. Moreover, the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) and European Quality of Life-5 Dimensions (EQ-5D) were used to evaluate function and quality of life. After combined Korean medicine treatment, reabsorptioin of intervertebral disc was confirmed by radiological examination; pain reduced from NRS 5∼7 to NRS 1∼2; lumbar ROM in extention increased from 20° to 30°; and function and quality of life improved. The results suggest the possibility that a combined Korean medical treatment, including acupotomy, can be used as an alternative to opioids for pain management of lumbar vertebral disc herniation.
침 치료만으로 호전된 일차성 다한증 환자 1례에 대한 증례보고

This case report described a 31-year-old female patient diagnosed with primary hyperhidrosis and had symptoms of excessive sweating on her hands and feet. The patient showed significant improvement in symptoms and quality of life after receiving only acupuncture treatment. From May 4th, 2022 to May 20th, 2022, during 8 outpatient treatments, the patient received acupuncture treatment. The symptoms were assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Hyperhidrosis Quality of Life Index(HidroQOL) was used to assess quality of life scales. Following treatment, the patient's VAS decreased from 7 to 0, and the HidroQOL decreased from 18 to 2. Two weeks after the end of treatment, the effect of treatment was maintained
