In the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, creative ideas are creating enormous value. This study conducted a case study on curriculum management plans aimed at protecting ideas and their results, recognizing the importance of intellectual property (IP), and cultivating basic knowledge about intellectual property. In particular, this study looked at ways to quickly learn related issues regarding new intellectual property rights related to computer software and artificial intelligence. In addition, research was conducted on ways to learn about efficient protection and utilization of inventions through actual examples. This study checked the importance and necessity of the interaction and communication between instructors and learners through the status of distance learning in domestic universities and a case study of distance learning of convergence subjects. We aim to continuously research effective class management methods and contribute to academic development through case studies of convergence subjects.

심층신경망을 이용한 스마트 양식장용 사료 공급 시점 감지 시스템 구현

In traditional fish farming way, the workers have to observe all of the pools every time and every day to feed at the right timing. This method causes tremendous stress on workers and wastes time. To solve this problem, we implemented an automatic detection system for feeding time using deep neural network. The detection system consists of two steps: classification of the presence or absence of feed and checking DO (Dissolved Oxygen) of the pool. For the classification, the pretrained ResNet18 model and transfer learning with custom dataset are used. DO is obtained from the DO sensor in the pool through HTTP in real time. For better accuracy, the next step, checking DO proceeds when the result of the classification is absence of feed several times in a row. DO is checked if it is higher than a DO reference value that is set by the workers. These actions are performed automatically in the UI programs developed with LabVIEW.

Grammar for E-mail Act: Corpus-based Analysis of Native and Non-native Speakers’ E-mails

In this comtemporary globalized era, the significance of writing e-mails has grown, and it has become one of the most frequent question items for English proficiency tests. Indeed, the communication between the faculty and students in U.S.A is largely done through exchanging e-mails. "E-mail Act" suggested by Cohen & Carvalho (2004) classifies e-mails into a pattern of “Speech Act” (Austin, 1962) thereby implying that writing e-mails can be categorized into a separate area for explicit teaching. To suggest that there are important grammatical features when devising pedagogical methods for writing e-mails, this research compiles four different corpora including the English native graduate students’ email corpus, the nonnative students’ email corpus, the business letter corpus, and the business e-mail corpus. Through examining cross-comparisons of these resources, this study investigates some pragmatic and grammatical similarities as well as differences. The research shows meaningful corpus data which implies that there are usage differences of grammar structure, word choice, and pragmatic strategies across different groups of corpora. The research outcomes can help non-native English speakers become aware of the grammar in e-mails to avoid “the risk of not being perceived as appropriately e-polite (Biesenbach-Lucas, 2007)” unintentionally.

An Implementation of DAQ and Monitoring System for a Smart Fish Farm Using Circulation Filtration System

A data acquisition and monitoring system was developed for an automated system of a smart fish farm. The fish farm is located in Jang Hang, South Korea, and was designed as circulation filtration system. Information of every aquaculture pool was automatically measured by pH sensors, dissolved oxygen sensors, and water temperature sensors and the data were stored in the database in a remoted server. Modbus protocol was usedfor gathering the data which were further used to optimize the pool water quality to predict the rate of growth and death of fish, and to deliver food automatically as planned by the fish farmer. By using JSON protocol, the collected data was delivered to the user’s PC and mobile phone for analysis and easy monitoring. The developed monitoring system allowed the fish farmers to improve fish productivity and maximize profits.

홍콩 작사가 임석(林夕)의 가사 창작에 대한 소고

‘임석(林石)’은 40년 가까운 기간 동안 3,500여 곡의 노랫말을 쓴 작사가로, 중국어권 대중음악계에서 무시할 수 없는 존재감을 지니고 있다. 그가 이렇게 많은 곡을 쓰고, 많은 가수의 요청을 받고, 대중들의 사랑을 받게 된 데는 여러 가지 이유가 있지만, 가창자와 그가 부르는 노래의 가사가 서로 조화를 이루는 것도 하나의 중요한 이유라 할 수 있다. 가수는 노래로 이야기를 한다. 그 노래의 가사에 담긴 이야기가 가수의 말이 되고 언어가 되어 그 노래를 듣는 사람들과 대화를 한다. 노래는 가수와 청중 그리고 작사가가 함께 나누는 커뮤니케이션이다. 노래가 청중을 감동시키기 위해서는 좋은 멜로디와 가창력은 물론, 가수가 그 가사를 충분히 체득하여 표현하는 것도 중요하다. 그리고 그것을 위해서 작사가는 창작 과정에서 가창자인 가수도 충분히 고려해야 한다. 그 과정 중 작사가의 가수 몰입은 매우 중요하다. 그 가수가 표현할 수 없는 내용, 혹은 그 가수와 동떨어진 내용의 가사는 듣는 이들의 노래에의 공감을 방해한다. 우리는 홍콩의 작사가 임석의 작품에서 다양한 가수의 정서에 잘 몰입하여 마치 작사가 자신이 그 가수가 되어 직접 노랫말을 쓴 듯한 가사를 많이 찾아볼 수 있다. 특히 가수 왕비(王菲)에 이르면 가사에서 왕비의 마음의 소리를 상상하여 그려내는 것을 넘어 왕비라는 스타로서의 이미지를 창출하는 데도 큰 기여를 하게 된다. 그것은 왕비의 창작에도 영향을 주고 다시 임석은 왕비의 창작물에서 영감을 얻는다. 이러한 양방향의 활발한 교류를 통하여 왕비의 이미지를 형성한다. 이와 같은 가수와 작사가의 긴밀한 정서적 공감을 통한 임석의 창작은 중국어권 대중가요의 대중성 제고에 기여하고 가사의 문학성도 담보해내었다고 할 수 있다. 한 대중가요 작사가의 작품을 논하는 데 있어 가사의 내용이나 기교, 그리고 음악과의 연관성 외에도 작사가의 가수 이미지 활용과 가수와의 공감을 파악해 보는 것도 가사의 창작을 논할 때 고려할 중요한 요소가 될 수 있을 것이다. 이는 또한 일반 시와 대중가요의 가사가 서로 닮아있으면서도 다른 모습을 지니게 되는 분기점이라고 할 수 있다.

Schwannoma is a benign neoplasm of the nerve sheath and is the most common neoplasm of the internal auditory canal (IAC) and cerebellopontine angle. A dumbbell-shaped schwannoma is defined as a mass with two bulbous segments, one in the IAC fundus and the other in the membranous labyrinth of the inner ear or the geniculate ganglion of the facial nerve connected to labyrinth segment. This kind of schwannoma should not be missed because it can affect the type of surgery and so the prognosis of the patient. We present one case of dumbbell-shaped facial nerve schwannoma which was completely excised without any complication. (Korean J Otorhinolaryngol-Head Neck Surg 2008;51:921-4)

Analysis of predictive factors for difficult ProSeal laryngeal mask airway insertion and suboptimal positioning

Background: There has been controversy about predicting difficult LMA insertion and suboptimal position. Our aim was to evaluate bedside predictors for difficult LMA ProSealTM (PLMA)insertion and suboptimal position. Methods: As the potential predictive factors for difficult PLMA insertion and suboptimal position, we considered male gender,increased body mass index (BMI), seven individual items suggesting difficult airway [modified Mallampati classification ≥ III, inter-incisor distance ≤ 5 cm, thyromental distance ≤ 6.5 cm, head/neck movement ≤ 90o, history of difficult intubation, buck of teeth ≥moderate, upper lip bite test (ULBT) ≥ II] and ≥ 3 of total airway score which is the sum of scores assessed by a score of 0, 1, 2in seven individual items. The PLMA position was assessed by fiberoptic bronchoscopy to determine whether these predictors predict suboptimal position of PLMA (fiberoptic score < 3, as graded on a standard fiberopitc scale). We also investigated the effect of predictive factors on the failure of the first insertion of PLMA and time required for successful Proseal LMA insertion on the first attempt. Results: 154 patients were enrolled in the study. The total airway score did have a significant relationship with the fiberoptic findings. The male gender and ULBT I of investigated predictors did significantly correlate with failure on the first insertion of PLMA. We did not find any significant relationship between the predictive factors and PLMA insertion time on the first attempt. Conclusions: The male gender and ULBT I indicate difficult PLMA insertion, and the total airway score ≥ 3 indicates suboptimal position of PLMA.

Awake endotracheal intubation using a video-assisted intubating stylet in a patient with a large supraglottic mass -A case report-

A 70-year-old man was scheduled for laryngeal microsurgery for supraglottic tumor. A preoperative indirect laryngoscopy demonstrated a large tumor obstructing the most of glottic opening. To prevent damage to the tumor during advancement of the endotracheal tube (ETT), an awake intubation assisted by Clarus Video System (CVS), was planned. Ten percent lidocaine spray was applied to the oropharynx. After sufficient preoxygenation, the patient was lightly sedated with continuous remifentanil and propofol infusion. The CVS, loaded with an ETT (inner diameter of 5.5 mm), was inserted orally by the anesthesiologist. The tube was carefully slid off the stylet into the glottic opening under direct vision. The anesthesiologist also confirmed that there was no damage to the tumor during intubation.
