This paper presents a measurement results of scattering coefficients for various flat surfaces in the use of radio altimeter developments. The transmit(Tx) and receive(Rx) antennas are designed and fabricated using a 2x4 microstrip patch array, which are then employed in scattering coefficient measurements. The Tx signal reflected from a surface illuminated by Tx/Rx antennas spaced at 84cm is received by the Rx antenna, and then the ratio of Rx power to Tx power is measured with a network analyzer. Scattering coefficients on the flat surfaces are evaluated by inserting the Rx/Tx power ratio into the radar equation. Scattering coefficients are measured for normal incidence, 45° oblique incidence with parallel polarization, and 45° oblique incidence with perpendicular polarization. Scattering coefficients with normal incidence ranges from 0.38 to 7.33 while 45° oblique incidence yields scattering coefficients significantly smaller than that of the normal incidence case.
12-비트 10-MS/s CMOS 파이프라인 아날로그-디지털 변환기

본 논문에서는 영상 처리용 12-비트의 10-MS/s 파이프라인 아날로그-디지털 변환기(ADC: analog-to-digital converter)가 제안된다. 제안된 ADC는 샘플-홀드 증폭기, 3개의 stage, 3-비트 플래시 ADC, 그리고 digital error corrector로 구성된다. 각 stage는 4-비트 flash ADC와 multiplying digital-to-analog ADC로 구성된다. 고해상도의 ADC를 위해 제안된 샘플-홀드 증폭기는 gain boosting을 이용하여 전압 이득을 증가시킨다. 제안된 파이프라인 ADC는 1.8V 공급전압을 사용하는 180㎚ CMOS 공정에서 설계되었고 차동 1V 전압을 가지는 1㎒ 사인파 아날로그 입력신호에 대해 10.52-비트의 유효 비트를 가진다. 또한, 약 5㎒의 나이퀴스트 사인파 입력에 대해 측정된 유효비트는 10.12 비트이다. A 12-bit 10-MS/s pipeline analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is proposed for image processing applications. The proposed pipeline ADC consists of a sample and hold amplifier, three stages, a 3-bit flash analog-to-digital converter, and a digital error corrector. Each stage is operated by using a 4-bit flash ADC (FADC) and a multiplying digital-to-analog converter (MDAC). The proposed sample and hold amplifier increases the voltage gain using gain boosting for the ADC with high resolution. The proposed pipelined ADC is designed using a 180-㎚ CMOS process with a supply voltage of 1.8 and it has an effective number of bit (ENOB) of 10.52 bits at sampling rate of 10MS/s for a 1-Vpp differential sinusoidal analog input with frequency of 1 ㎒. The measured ENOB is 10.12 bits when the frequency of the sinusoidal analog input signal is a Nyquist frequency of approximately 5 ㎒.
쑥갓세포의 현탁배양에 의한 ${\beta}-sitosterol$ 생산

[${\beta}-sitosterol$]은 식물 스테롤로서 인간의 전립선암과 대장암 세포의 성장을 억제하고 생체내 콜레스테롤 농도를 감소시킨다. 본 연구에서는 쑥갓세포 배양에서 ${\beta}-sitosterol$ 생산의 최적화 연구를 수행하였다. 그래서 쑥갓(Chrysanthemum coronarium L.)으로부터 캘러스 유도는 NAA와 BAP의 농도가 각각 1 mg/l의 조합에서 최적이었으며 이들 캘러스로부터 현탁배양 세포주를 확립하였다. 현탁 배양시 초기 세포농도 2 g DCW/l에서 조성이 각각 1배인 탄소원(30 mg/l), 질소원(1900 mg/l $KNO_3$, 1650mg/l $NH_4NO_3$), 무기인산원(170 mg/l)을 포함하는 MS 배지에서 ${\beta}-sitosterol$ 생산이 최적으로 나타났다. Shake-flask를 이용한 현탁배양에서 ${\beta}-sitosterol$의 최대 생산량은 $150{\mu}g/g$ DCW이었다. 그리고 공기부유식 생물반응기의 배양에서는 100 cc/ml의 통기량에서 ${\beta}-sitosterol$의 생산이 $142.8{\mu}g/g$ DCW으로 나타났다. [${\beta}-sitosterol$] is a plant sterol that reduces cholesterol levels and inhibits the growth of human prostate and colon cancer cells. Optimal conditions for ${\beta}-sitosterol$ production were examined from cell suspension cultures of Chrysanthemum coronarium L. The callus induction was optimal in MS medium containing 1 mg/l NAA and 1 mg/l BAP. Cell suspension culture was also established from the callus. Optimal ${\beta}-sitosterol$ production was obtained when the cells were cultured at an initial density of 2 mg DCW/l in MS medium containing 1 X sucrose (30 mg/l), 1 X nitrogen (1900 mg/l $KNO_3$, 1650 mg/l $NH_4NO_3$), and 1 X phosphate source (170 mg/l). In cell suspension cultures of C. coronarium L. using shake flasks, the peak content of ${\beta}-sitosterol$ was $150{\mu}g/g$ DCW. In cell suspension cultures of C. coronarium L. using an air-lift bioreactor, the maximum ${\beta}-sitosterol$ content of $143.8{\mu}g/g$ DCW was obtained at an air-flow rate of 100 cc/min.

Carcinoma of the breast has been treated by surgery followed by irradiation of the chest wall and regional lymphatics treatment planning of the breast cancer is required that lung must be spared as much as possible. However megavoltage irradiation of the internal mammary chain results in high dose to underlying heart, esophagus and spinal cord. Electron beam can be used for the irradiation of the internal mammary chain instead of megavoltage beam. We studied dose distribution of single anterior electron field, compared with traditional treatment methods. 12 and 15MeV electron beam with bolus has good dose distribution to spare underlying lung tissue and other organs.
