This research presents an method to select explanatory variables to develop deterioration models for bridges. The ranking of candidate variables are estimated using the covariance analysis between the condition ratings and inspection data. To determine the most stationary set of explanatory variables, weighting factors associated with the investigated year and ranking are introduced. Yearly inspected bridge data are classified into multiple subsets using explanatory variables and the deterioration model is developed for each. The condition ratings for individual bridges are predicted using the deterioration model. The prediction error comparison shows that the more representative and stationary explanatory variables are selected when weighing factors are considered.
동요하는 궤도를 주행하는 열차의 탈선 시험에 관한 연구

Several long span railway bridges have been operating and under construction for the effective passengers’ transfer. Although strict restrictions are applied to railway vehicles on these bridges, further investigation is required to standardize safe operational conditions. This paper presents a fundamental testing method for vibrating railway vehicle to investigate running safety and derailment condition. The structural behavior, examined from water tank and wind tunnel tests, was used as input signal for 6DOF shake table. The scaled railway vehicle model was manufactured and continuously operated on the shake table during the test. The acceleration from bogie, vehicle frame, and railway was simultaneously measured while the shake table was excited and used to evaluate the safety condition. 최근 장경간 철도교량을 도입하여 자원의 이동을 효율적으로 하는 철도 서비스를 제공하는 방안이 제시되고 있다. 이러한 장경간 철도교량은 안전성 확보를 위해서 일반 도로교량에 비해 변형과 차량의 운행에 엄격한 규제를 두고 있지만, 관련한 연구가 많지 않은 실정이다. 따라서 이와 같은 장경간의 철도교량에 대해서 주행안전성을 확보하는 것이 필요하다. 이 연구에서는 동요하는 궤도의 주행안전성을 실험하기 위한 궤도의 거동 특성 및 탈선 조건에 관한 기초연구를 수행하였다. 풍동과 수조 실험을 통해서 동요하는 궤도의 거동특성을 파악하고, 이를 진동대에 입력으로 활용하였다. 6자유도 진동대에 철도차량의 축소모형을 제작하여 운행을 하고 동시에 가진을 하여 주행하는 열차, 대차, 및 레일의 가속도 응답을 측정하여 안전성을 평가하는데 활용하였다.
Hirschsprung병에서 항문직장 내압검사의 진단적 유용성

목 적: Hirschsprung병의 진단 시 일차적 선별검사로서 항문직장 내압검사의 유용성을 평가하고 한국 영아에서 이 검사에 대한 자료를 제공하고자 본 연구를 시행하였다. 방 법: 1995년 7월부터 2002년 5월까지 서울아산병원에 복부팽만이나 구토, 배변장애, 만성설사 등으로 내원하여 항문직장 내압검사를 시행한 61례를 대상으로 그들의 의무기록 정보를 후향적으로 분석하였다. 그 중 33례에서 대장조영술을 시행하였고 두 가지 검사에서 Hirschsprung병이 의심되었을 때 교정 수술 시 얻은 전근육 조직생검상 신경절 세포의 결여를 확인하여 진단하였다. Hirschsprung병의 진단에 대한 항문직장 내압검사와 대장조영술의 예민도, 특이도, 양성 예측치, 음성 예측치를 비교분석 하였고 정상 대조군의 항문괄약근의 길이와 직장항문 억제반사를 일으키는데 필요한 풍선의 공기량을 측정하였다. 결 과: Hirschsprung병으로 확진돤 18례를 환자군으로, 나머지 43례를 대조군으로 하여 측정한 항문직장 내압검사의 민감도, 특이도, 양성 예측도, 음성 예측도는 각각 1.00, 0.91, 0.82, 1.00이었고 대장조영술은 각각 0.93, 0.67, 0.70, 0.92이었다. 정상 대조군에 서 측정한 항문괄약근의 평균길이는 $1.68{\pm}0.67$ cm로 신장, 연령, 체중과 모두 상관 관계를 보였으며 그중 신장과 가장 유의한 상관 관계를 보였다. 또한 정상 대조군에서 직장항문 억제반사를 일으키기 위해 직장내 위치한 풍선에 주입한 공기량의 중위수는 10 mL (5~20 mL)이었고 이는 신장이나 연령, 체중과의 상관관계를 보이지 않았다. 결 론: Hirschsprung병의 진단 시 항문직장 내압검사는 일차 선별검사 방법으로 매우 유용함을 확인 할 수 있었다. 또한 정상 대조군에서 측정한 항문괄약근의 길이에 대한 자료는 향후 국내에서 영아를 대상으로 한 항문직장 내압검사에 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다. Purpose: As diagnostic tools for Hirschsprung's disease (HD), barium enema and rectal biopsy have radiation exposure and invasiveness respectively; however anorectal manometry does not have these disadvantages. We therefore performed this study to evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of anorectal manometry. Methods: We reviewed medical records of infants with one or two symptoms of vomiting, abdominal distension, chronic diarrhea or constipation who had a anorectal manometry followed by barium enema and/or biopsy from July 1995 to May 2002. We evaluated the sensitivity, specificity and predictive value of anorectal manometry and barium enema for diagnosis of HD. We also measured sphincter length, median value of balloon volume at which rectoanal inhibitory reflex (RAIR) occurred. Results: All 61 patients received anorectal manometry, 33 of 61 received barium enema. 18 of 61 were diagnosed as HD according to histology and 43 of 61 were evaluated as a control. The sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value of anorectal manometry and barium enema for diagnosis of HD were 1.00, 0.91, 0.82, 1.00 and 0.93, 0.67, 0.70, 0.92 respectively. The mean value of sphincter length in control was $1.68{\pm}0.67$ cm and correlated with age, weight and significantly longitudinal length. The median value of balloon volume at which RAIR occurred was 10 mL and did not correlated with age, weight and longitudinal length. Conclusion: This study suggests that anorectal manometry is an excellent initial screening test for Hirschsprung's disease because of its safety and accuracy.
랫드에서 PMMA와 Cross-Linked Dextran 혼합물의 생체 안전성 및 부피 효과에 대한 연구

This study examined bio-safety and volume-related effect of the mixture of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and Cross-linked Dextran as a soft tissue augmentation. To examine bio-safety and volume-related effect of the mixture of PMMA and Cross-linked Dextran in rat, gross, hematological, and pathohistological examinations were performed in comparison with CRM (R) DX (Cross-linked hyaluronic acid sodium salt, Dextranomere; commercial product) and saline. During the experimental period, there was no dead rats and scratching behavior which is a most common symptom when rejecting foreign body was observed. The volume of injected mixture was maintained sufficiently. Complete blood count(CBC) finding indicated that there were no significant differences in the number of inflammatory cells between control and experimental group. In addition, the parameters of hepatic toxicity (aspartate aminotransferase: AST, alanine transaminase: ALT, alkaline phosphatase: ALP, γ-glutamyl transpeptidase: γ- GTP, lactate dehydrogenase: LDH), renal toxicity (creatinine, blood urea nitrogen: BUN, cholesterol, albumin: ALB, phosphorus), and other organ toxicity (calcium, triglyceride, and creatine phosphokinase: CPK) using serum biochemical analysis did not show the significant differences between the control and experimental group, suggesting that systemic toxicity was not found in liver, kidney, and other organs. Histopathological findings indicated that the subcutaneous tissue had red color microsphere which capsulated by collagen near the injection site. Furthermore, the infiltration of inflammatory cells were not observed in the injected sites of all experimental groups. In conclusion, the mixture of PMMA and Cross-linked Dextran can be a safe substance for soft tissue augmentation maintaining tissue volume.

In this paper, a nonmodel-based procedure incorporating machine learning techniques is introduced to estimate the peak story drift ratios (SDR) of buildings with eccentrically braced frames. The database includes average spectral acceleration intensity measure, wavelet-based refined damage-sensitive feature (rDSF), assembled only by the roof absolute acceleration response, geometric information, as predictor variables, and peak story drift ratios for the prototype models, as the target. Random forest machine learning regression is employed to predict the peak SDR. To compute the improved wavelet-based rDSF and promote a nonmodel-based approach, the first mode frequency, estimated numerically using Auto-Regressive model with exogenous input, is employed.
