        건설업에서 발생하는 근골격계질환 위험요인의 작업자 자가 평가용 체크리스트 개발

        In this study, a self-administered checklist for evaluation of the musculoskeletal disorders risk factors in construction industry was developed, and its reliability and validity were studied. 10 items of the checklist were determined based on the literature review, and total 2,793 construction workers participated in the analysis of the checklist's applicability. The results from the reliability analysis showed high Cohen's kappa coefficient (0.50~0.77), and high validity was also obtained in terms of relative risk (RR 1.73~9.14). Positive predictability was relatively low (13.0~32.5%), while negative predictability was high (80.1~96.8%). It can be concluded that the checklist would be suitable as a quick filtering tool of the ergonomic risk factors.

        Recent Korea initiatives have led to substantial interest in the identification and control of risk factors for work-related musculoskeletal disorders(WMSDs). And there has been increased interest in the undertaking of practical risk assessment and ergonomic interventions in the workplace. But there is no the guideline how evaluate for WMSDs risk factors?. The main aim of this paper is to review about evaluation methods for WMSDs risk factors and to suggest the guideline to select for assessment tools in the various workplace.

        서서 일하는 작업에서의 정맥류 발생에 대한 연구

        Recent studies suggest that prolonged standing at work is associated with varicose veins (VV). The objective of this study was to analyze the differences of VV risk in terms of work types in casino dealers and hotel service workers. Symptoms of VV were evaluated using a self-reported questionnaire from 2,092 participants, and muscle fatigue in the lower legs were evaluated using surface electromyography. The shift rate of median frequency in Gastrocnemius was -30.0% among the casino dealers working in prolonged static standing posture, and - 14.3% among the casino dealers sitting during working time. After adjusting age, gender, smoking, and family history of VV, the risk ratio of VV was 3.67(95% CI 2.03-6.59) in groupⅠ(prolonged standing and occasional walking at work), 6.29(95% CI 3.48-11.35) in groupⅡ(prolonged standing, occasional walking and heavy lifting at work), and 8.07(95% CI 4.51- 14.43) in groupⅢ(prolonged static standing at work). In conclusion, prolonged standing at work may be a work related risk factor of VV.

        일부 대학 실험실 연구자들의 근골격계질환 위험 요인과 증상

        Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of symptoms relating to musculoskeletal disorders(MSDs) and investigate the risk factors among researchers at university laboratories. Methods: 209 researchers were included in this study, drawn from 27 laboratories at three universities in Korea. Checklists for MSD symptoms and risk factor assessment were utilized. Results: The symptoms checklist showed reliable results with Cohen`s Kappa 0.33-0.56, percent agreement 81.0-96.8%, and correlation coefficient 0.41-0.63. The overall prevalence of MSD symptoms was 68.9%, while the prevalence in specific parts of body were as follows: shoulders(47.6%), lower back(46.9%), neck(46.9%), knees(25.4%), wrists(20.1%), elbows(13.6%). The symptom prevalence among women was higher than among men(OR 2.67, 95% CI 1.37-5.18). Daily exposure time was observed to be a significant risk factor for developing MSD symptoms(OR 2.14-6.07). Conclusions: This study suggested that repetitive pipetting and static work posture are the most significant risk factors for MSD symptoms among laboratory researchers.

        중량물 들기 작업에 대한 노동부고시(2003-24호)의 문제점

        In 2003, Korean government made the 11 scopes of overburdened work[Ministry of Labor(MOL), Notification No. 2003-24] to prevent musculoskeletal disorders(MSDs). MOL Notification was established based on `Washington Administrative Code 296-62-051, Ergonomics`. When initially investigating the contents, the labor unions and the specialists pointed out the possibility of devaluation on risk factors of MSDs. The present study aimed to compare the result of the NIOSH revised lifting equation(NLE) analysis with the MOL Notification(No.8, 9, 10) on manual lifting tasks. A study sample of 568 manual lifting tasks (automobile parts, foods, and tire manufacture) were evaluated for this study. All 502 tasks exceed lifting index(LI) of 1.0, but 276 tasks(55.0%) out of 502 tasks were evaluated non-over burdened work for musculoskeletal system by the MOL Notification. Particularly, 47 tasks(30.9%), in spite of exceeding LI of 3.0, were evaluated non-over burdened work. This study has shown the possibility of devaluation on risk factors of MSDs, when evaluated by MOL Notification. Therefore, it will be necessary to repeal or complement the scope of over-burdened work(MOL Notification) to prevent musculoskeletal disorders.

        N/A Objectives: To prevent progression to fatal asthma it is essential to assess the severity of asthma and treat adequetely. But there was no objective index to evaluate the severity of airway inflammation in asthmatic patients, So we evaluated that serum ECP concentration is a objective parameter of airway inflammation in patients with acute severe asthmatic attack. Methods: We measured the parameters of asthamtic severtity(clinical parameter, FEV1, arterial blood gas, peripheral blood eosinophil counts, and serum ECP levels) before and after antiasthmatic treatment in 9patients with acute severe asthmatic attack, And we compared serum ECP concentrations of severe asthmatic patients with those of control patients with mild to moderate severity. Results: 1) The serum ECP levels in patients with acute asthmatic attacks compared to patients with mild to moderate, asthmatic severity were significantly increased. 2) The serum ECP levels and pheriperal blood eosinophil counts 2hours after antiasthmatic treatment were significantly lower than the value before treatment, but the total scores of clinical parameter, FEV1, and scores of arterial blood gases were not significantly different from the basal values, Conclusion: It is suggested that the serum ECP level is a objective parameter as a response to antiasthmatic treatment as well as a severity of airway inflammation in patients with acute asthmatic attack.

        오리 사육장의 공기 중 부유 미생물 및 내독소 노출 농도

        The aim of this study was to determine the concentrations of air-borne microorganisms (bacteria, fungi, gram negative bacteria (GNB), endotoxins, and respirable suspended particles (RSPs), and their correlation with environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide levels) in duck houses. The mean concentrations of bacteria, fungi, and GNB were very high (> $10^6\;CFU/m^3$), and endotoxin levels exceeded $10^3\;EU/m^3$. Among the various work stages, in the task of receiving ducks, bacteria were $6.2{\times}10^6;CFU/m^3$, and GNB were $5.4{\times}10^6\;CFU/m^3$, while RSPs levels were $397.6\;{\mu}g/m^3$ and endotoxin levels were $47.2{\times}10^3\;EU/m^3$ in the task of dividing the ducks, and fungi were $4.9{\times}10^6\;CFU/m^3$ in the task of shipping the ducks. The concentrations of RSPs and endotoxins were significantly higher in tasks involving greater movement of ducks in the house, relative to tasks involving little movement of ducks (p<0.05). Further, with progression in growth of the ducks, the concentrations of bacteria, GNB, endotoxins, and RSPs were significantly increased. There was significant correlation between levels of GNB with bacteria (r=0.75) and fungi (r=0.86), endotoxins with RSPs (r=0.75), bacteria with fungi (r=0.39), and carbon dioxide with RSPs (r=0.38), bacteria (r=0.33), and endotoxins (r=0.31). These results suggest considerable respiratory hazard for farmers in these environments.

        내사시를 동반한 태아알코올증후군 1예

        Purpose: Here, we report a case of an infant with fetal alcohol syndrome with esotropia who was born to a mother who consumed a large quantity of alcohol during her pregnancy. Methods: A 1-year-old female infant visited our hospital for the main symptom of the esodeviation of the eye. The medical history of the mother and the delivery history were reviewed, and a physical examination and ophthalmic examination of the infant were performed. Results: At the first examination, the patient was 15 months old, her mass was 5,600 grams, her height was 70 cm, her head circumference was 39.5 cm, and her chest circumference was 41 cm; all the measurements were below the 3rd percentile. From the gestation age of 24 weeks, the mother consumed 1-2 bottles of sojoo every day, and the infant patient was delivered at the gestation age of 42 weeks by Cesarean section. The infant’s birth weight was 1,510 grams. Upon physical examination, her philtrum was found to be shallow, and microcephaly was detected. Upon ophthalmic examination, a refractive error +1.25 Dsph. was detected. With regard to the horizontal length of the palpebral fissure, the right and the left were 1.7 cm and 1.6 cm, respectively, which is considered short; telecanthus and esotropia were also present. Conclusions: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of fetal alcohol syndrome with accompanying esotropia.

        PLS와 SVM복합 알고리즘을 이용한 식각 종료점 검출

        In semiconductor wafer fabrication, etching is one of the most critical processes, by which a material layer is selectively removed. Because of difficulty to correct a mistake caused by over etching, it is critical that etch should be performed correctly. This paper proposes a new approach for etch endpoint detection of small open area wafers. The traditional endpoint detection technique uses a few manually selected wavelengths, which are adequate for large open areas. As the integrated circuit devices continue to shrink in geometry and increase in device density, detecting the endpoint for small open areas presents a serious challenge to process engineers. In this work, a high-resolution optical emission spectroscopy (OES) sensor is used to provide the necessary sensitivity for detecting subtle endpoint signal. Partial Least Squares (PLS) method is used to analyze the OES data which reduces dimension of the data and increases gap between classes. Support Vector Machine (SVM) is employed to detect endpoint using the data after PLS. SVM classifies normal etching state and after endpoint state. Two data sets from OES are used in training PLS and SVM. The other data sets are used to test the performance of the model. The results show that the trained PLS and SVM hybrid algorithm model detects endpoint accurately.
