As there are consecutive powerful earthquakes in Circum-Pacific belt, an awareness that South Korea also was not a safe space of earthquake any more has been on the increase. In fact, South Korea had 39 earthquakes in August this year and the number of earthquakes has increased in comparison with the past. Therefore, mid/low-rise buildings that were built before buildings have seismic design codes were needed to seismic retrofit. Especially, the majority of domestic buildings before 1986 were not built properly with seismic retrofit. When an earthquake hits, it is expected to have huge damage. In this study, 2-Story 1-Bay of test frames was made with MDF(Medium Density Fiberboard) and then seismic retrofit was conducted. The shaking table test was tested using Seismic wave, El Centro NS earthquake. Compared the result of experiments to theoretical analysis and computational analysis using OpenSees, seismic performance evaluation of test frames was carried by those results.

After the Gyeongju earthquake, many of earthquake shelters were designated as school buildings. However, the ratio of designed for seismic of domestic school buildings is only 22.8%, and it is necessary to secure the seismic safety of those. Therefore, in this paper, a target building was selected before the seismic design criteria was established and the seismic performance of the building was evaluated. After the evaluation, reinforcement of the building was carried out using seismic retrofit systems which was previously tested. For this purpose, the evaluation was carried out using OpenSees program and the reliability of the seismic retrofit systems was also verified. In this way, we can more precisely reproduce the response of the building in case of actual earthquake and predict damage of the earthquake in the future.

Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is considered to be associated with neurocognitive dysfunction, depression, quality of life and cardiovascular diseases. OSA is likely to have a significant impact on the health of older adults. This study was to identify characteristics of older adults with high risk for OSA according to age and gender. Methods: This study was conducted on adults aged 65 years or older who participated in the 8th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) 2020. Characteristics of the high-risk group for OSA were investigated using the STOP-Bang questionnaire of the KNHANES data and were compared according to gender and age. The health status, metabolic variables, concurrent disease of the high risk group were compared with the control group. Results: In older adults aged 65 or older, snoring rates significantly decreased as their ages increased in both sex. The high risk group had a higher rate for performing strength exercise than control group. Depression showed a higher rate in the high risk group, but there was no difference in stress and quality of life in the two groups. The waist circumference and the prevalence of hypertension, stroke, dyslipidemia, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome was higher in the high-risk OSA group. Conclusion: It is unclear whether OSA-related symptoms increase with age in older adults over 65 years of age. Waist circumference was higher in the OSA high risk group, and this study showed that the OSA high risk group may be more likely to have metabolic syndrome and cardiovascular disease.
마이크로웨이브 화학증착법에 의한 다이아몬드 박막의 미세구조오 미세결함

MPECVD법을 이용하여 다이아몬드 박막을 p형 Si(100)기판 위에 증착하였다. 증착하기에 앞서, 핵생성 밀도를 향상시키기 위하여 40-$60\mu$m 크기의 다이아몬드 분말을 사용하여 6분간 초음파 전처리를 행하였다. 이런 전처리 과정 후, 다이아몬드 박막을 $^900{\circ}C$, 40Torr, 1000W microwave power에서 ${CH}_{4}$와 ${H}_{2}$사용하여 증착하였다. 이렇게 형성된 다이아몬드 박막의 순수도는 Raman spectroscopy로 측정하였으며 박막의 표면은 SEM으로 , 그리고 미세구조와 미세결함은 TEM으로 조사하였다. 반응기체 중 CH4의 농도가 증가함에 따라 다이아몬드의 정형적인 Raman peak와 더불어 다이아몬드가 아닌 제 2상의 peak가 증가하였다. SEM에 의한 박막의 표면은 ${CH}_{4}$가 증가함에 따라 박막의 표면이 뚜렷한 결정형상에서 cauliflower 형태로 변화하였다. 다이아몬드 박막의 결함밀도는 ${CH}_{4}$농도가 증가함에 따라 증가하였으며 결함 중 대부분은 {111}twin이였다. 그리고 MTP(Mulitply Twinned Particle)는 5개의 (111)면으로 형성된 결정으로, 5개의 (111)면은 각각에 대해서 Twin되어 있으며 five-fold symmetry를 나타내었다. 계면에서는 다이아몬드내의 결함들이 핵생성 site를 함유한 작은 지역에서부터 V형재로 퍼져 나갔다. Diamond thin films were deposited on p-type (100) Si wafers using MPECVD. Prior to deposition, ultrasonic striking was done to improve density of nucleation sites with dimond powder of 40~$60\mu$m size. Then diamond thin films were deposited at $^900{\circ}C$, 40Torr and 1000W microwave power using ${CH}_{4}$ and ${H}_{2}$ gases. The purity, the morphology and the microstructur'e and microdefects of diamond thin films were characterized by Raman spectroscopy, SEM and TEM, repectively. In Raman spectroscopy the peaks of non-diamond phase increased as ${CH}_{4}$, concentration increased. In SEM, the morphology of diamond thin films varied from crystalline to cauliflower as ${CH}_{4}$, concentration increased. As ${CH}_{4}$ con centration increased, the density of defects increased, with most defects being {III} twin. ${MTP}_{5}$, were formed with five (II]) planes. As these (Ill) Planes were twinned, ${MTP}_{5}$, represented five-fold symmetry. ]n the interfaces, defects in diamond thin films fanned out from small regions implying nucleation sites.

To improve the poor living conditions of semi-basement dwellings, Seoul has been offering various house repairing support programs. The purpose of this study is to explore the direction of repairing support projects for vulnerable housing groups. In-depth interviews were conducted with 186 semi-basement residents from July 24, 2023, to October 3, 2023. The study was carried out through a content analysis. Major findings were: 1) The number of respondents who have experienced flooding is 38.17%, of which the majority of respondents have experienced flooding until recently. 2) The problems caused by outdated semi-basement living units were ranked in the order of plumbing, interior finishing, and water leakage, with 18% of residents responding that ‘humidity’ was the most discomforting issue. The majority of respondents had no experience in applying for or utilizing the support programs or had negative perceptions for the programs, and they indicated that official programs for protecting tenants are strongly needed.
MPECVD 다이아몬드 박막의 표면 형상에 미치는 증착조건의 영향

다이아몬드 형성에 미치는 MPECVD 증착조건에 관하여 연구하였다. 증착 실험 기판은 Si p-type (100)wafer를 사용하였으며 다이아몬드 박막은 다음과 같은 조건하에서 증착되었다. 메탄 농도:0.75%(3scm)-3%(12scm),산소 농도:0%-0.5%(2scm), 반응 압력:20torr-80torr, 반응 온도:$600^{\circ}C$-90$0^{\circ}C$. 낮은 증착온도($600^{\circ}C$)에서는 (100)의 우선성장면을 보였고 온도가 증가함에 따라 (100)과 (111)이 혼재된 cubo-octahedron이 형성되었고 90$0^{\circ}C$에서는 (111)의 우선성장면을 가징 octahedron이 형성되었다. 산소가 첨가됨에 따라 높은 메탄농도에서도 양질의 다이아몬드가 형성되었다. 낮은 압력하(200torr)에서는 비정질탄소가, 높은 압력하(80torr)에서는 양질의 다이아몬드가 형성되었다.
