This study examines the relationship between economic inequality and social policy preference in South Korea. While most OECD countries show a pattern that income inequality and asset inequality counterbalance each other, both types of inequality have been increasing in South Korea from 2000. At the same time, however, public’s demand for social welfare policy has remained steady, if not reduced. This is a puzzling situation, and we argue that individual’s national identity plays an important role by mitigating the demand for social welfare policy in the face of raising economic inequality. Empirically, by employing Korean General Social Survey, we show that the negative effect of national identity in repressing social policy preference is modified by individual perception on future economic risk measured by skill specificity.
고유치 기반 필터를 이용한 위성 SAR 영상 간섭신호 제거 기법

영상 레이다(Synthetic Aperture Radar)는 전자파를 이용하여 영상을 생성함에 따라 주·야간 상황과 무관하게 안정적인 광역 관측 자료를 확보할 수 있으며 기상 제약 환경과 무관하게 전략적·상업적 목적으로의 감시 및 관찰 기능을 요구하는 임무에 광범위하게 활용될 수 있다. 그러나 SAR 위성 시스템의 경우 넓은 대역의 주파수를 사용하기 때문에 인접대역을 사용하는 레이다 시스템 및 통신기기로부터 간섭 영향에 의해 영상품질을 저하시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 SAR 영상의 품질향상을 위해 간섭 제거 기법인 고유치 기반 필터(Eigen-subspace based Filter) 기법을 제안하였으며, SAR 위성의 간섭제거 알고리즘인 고유치 기반 필터 기법의 정량적인 성능 분석을 위해 일반적인 노치 필터(Notch Filter) 기법을 적용한 결과를 토대로 비교 검증하였다. SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) uses electromagnetic signals to acquire ground information and has been used for wide coverage reconnaissance missions regardless of weather conditions. However SAR is known to be vulnerable to interference signals by other communication devices or radar instruments and may suffer from undesirable performance degradations and image quality. In this paper, a modified Eigen-subspace based filter is proposed that can be easily applied to SAR images affected by interference signals. The method of constructing Eigen-subspace based filter is briefly described and various simulations are performed to show the performance of the interference mitigation process. The suppression filter is applied to a ALOS PALSAR raw data affected by interfering signals in order to verify its superiority over the Notch filter.

Fertigation is one of alternative measures not only to ensure crop yield but also to improve nutrient use efficiency. In this work, we evaluated growth and yield, nutrient uptake and nitrogen use efficiency of upland carrot. To do our goal, various basal fertilizers (single chemical and slow release) and fertigations were employed based on the result of soil diagnosis, and the detail was as follows; basal:fertigation = 100:0, 50:50, 30:70. Growth, yield, nutrient (N, P, K) uptake and nitrogen use efficiency were not different from treatments. However, slow release fertilizer resulted in enhancing economic yield (root) and nitrogen use efficiency compared to single chemical fertilizer, and an adjustment of basal:top dressing (fertigation) was relatively effective. In conclusion, the current results suggest that fertigation is favorable for upland carrot production, and the further study including the comparison with conventional practice (broadcasting) and organic fertilizers as a basal source is required to validate fertigation effect.
전신 다한증에 대한 시호가용골모려탕의 효과: 심병증(心病證) 환자를 중심으로

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficacy of Shihogayonggolmoryo-tang (SYT) in combatting excessive sweating.Methods: The electronic medical records (EMR) of patients who attended the Department of Korean Internal Medicine, Stroke and Neurological Disorders Center from December 2014 to April 2016 were reviewed. Excessive sweating was graded and compared before and after the administration of SYT in 32 patients.Results: The average grade for excessive sweating of the 32 patients significantly decreased from 2.47±0.62 to 1.03±0.86 after the SYT treatment.Conclusions: These results provide evidence that SYT may be effective in combatting excessive sweating.
감각장애를 동반한 Thalamic Ataxia 환자 치험 1례

This report is about a case of an ataxia patient with sensory loss diagnosed with thalamic Infarction. The patient had symtoms of gait disturbances and dysmetria. We used Korean medicine treatment modalities including acupunture, electroacupuncture, moxibustion and herb medicines. The improvement of ataxia was evaluated by International Cooperative Ataxia Rating Scale and Balance master<sup>Ⓡ</sup> system. After treatment, decreased scores of International Cooperative Ataxia Rating Scale and change of the trace of Balance master<sup>Ⓡ</sup> system showed that symtoms of ataxia were improved. Sensory deficits and other conditions were also getting better. This report suggests that Korean medicine could have a therapeutic effect for Thalamic ataxia.
STK를 이용한 고해상도 위성 SAR 운용 및 표적물 추출 기법

고해상도 위성 SAR 영상은 주파수 특성, 안테나 설계 변수, 시스템 내부 잡음 및 간섭 신호에 영향을 많이 받으며, 특히 표적의 RCS(Radar Cross Section)에 따라 표적 특성의 품질이 달라지기 때문에 영상 예측을 위한 시뮬레이션이 복잡해진다. 본 논문에서는 STK(Systems Tool Kit)과 매트랩을 결합하여 작성한 SAR 운용 시뮬레이터를 구축하고, 추출된 데이터를 적용하여 SAR 시뮬레이션을 수행한다. 점 표적의 품질을 판별할 수 있는 중요 변수 특성을 분석하며, 향후 위성 SAR 영상의 검보정에 활용할 수 있음을 보인다. 또한, 위성의 궤도 위치에 따라 변화하는 표적의 RCS를 적용하고, 발생 가능한 RF 간섭 신호를 반영하여 SAR 영상에서의 표적물 품질변화 예측을 수행할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. A comprehensive SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) simulation is considered to be a complicated task since a full knowledge of the signal propagation characteristics, antenna pattern, system internal errors and interference noises should be taken into account. In high resolution target application modes, the time varying nature of target RCS(Radar Cross Section) strongly affects the generated SAR images. In this paper, in-depth SAR simulations are performed and analyzed incorporating the STK tools and MATLAB software. STK provides realistic orbit parameters while its radar module helps to extract accurate radiometric parameters of ground targets. SAR raw data corresponding to a given target is generated and processed using MATLAB simulator. The performance is measured by PSLR(Peak Sidelobe Ratio) and ISLR(Integrated Sidelobe Ratio) for a point target, which can be used as reference parameters for accurate radiometric calibration. Finally, high resolution target simulations are performed by adopting time varying target RCS characterisics.

Here we report a case of a patient with Raynaud phenomenon due to Buerger’s disease to present the curative effects of herbal medicine in Buerger’s disease. The patient presented with pain, redness, and cyanosis of hands and feet. We used Korean medicine treatment modalities including acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicines. We observed changes in symptoms through digital infrared thermographic imaging, taking photos of both hands and feet. After treatment, the symptoms of pain, redness, and cyanosis of both hands and feet were decreased and digital infrared thermographic imaging proved a rise in temperature of fingers and toes.
