Antibiotics are certainly beneficial to treat the bacterial infection. However, inappropriate use puts patients at danger for avoidable adverse drug reactions. This inappropriate use accelerates the emergence of resistance and potentially increases overall health-care costs. In oriental pharmacology, herbal medicines had been used as an antibiotic drug, but its antibiotic mechanism has not yet been proved completely. Here, we studied the antibiotic effects of Agrimonia pilosa on E. coli O157:H7. Especially, it is noteworthy that the antibiotic efficacy of the herb extract on three proven targets for a main antibiotic drug: bacterial cell wall biosynthesis, protein synthesis and DNA replication and repair. The results show the antibiotic effects through the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis, folic acid synthesis, and multidrug efflux.

Numerical methods that are known as Monte as Monte Carlo methods can be loosely described as statistical simulation methods, where statistical simulation is defined in quite general terms to be any method that utilizes sequences of random numbers to perform the simulation. Monte Carlo methods are now used routinely in many problems, the simulation of the esoteric subnuclear processes in high energy physics experiments, cellular automata, self-organized critical phenomena, the Ising spin glass, the simulation of a Bingo game, etc. The physical processes are simulated directly, and there are no needs to even write down the differential equations that describe the behaviors of the systems. The only requirement is that the physical systems be described by probability density functions. We consider with the Monte Carlo variational method and the Monte Carlo path integral method(MCPI). These methods are used to calculate the energy of the ground states of H2 molecule by the formal similarity between the Schroedinger equation and the multi-dimensional diffusion equation.

이동 객체의 위치 정보는 현재 위치뿐만이 아니라 과거 움직였던 궤적 데이터 역시 데이터마이닝과 같은 응용분야에서 중요하다. 대부분의 기존 연구에서 사용하는 GPS(Global Positioning Service) 위치정보는 이 차원 유클리디안 공간의한 점과 시간만으로 표현된다. 우리는 이러한 표현이 가지는 내재적인 문제점들을 지적하고 이를 해결할 수 있는 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문에서 우리는 이동 객체의 움직임은 기본속도모델을 따라 움직인다고 가정하고 이를 이용하여 다양한 움직임의 형태를 표현하고 이러한 표현에 의하여 달성할 수 있는 저장 및 처리의 효율성에 대하여 연구한다. 실제 데이터를 이용한 분석에서 우리는 이동 객체가 우리가 제시하는 속도 모델에 따라 움직인다는 사실을 보여주고, 제시하는 표현 방법이 저장뿐만이 아니라 성능적인 면에서도 기존 GPS 위치정보 표현보다 월등하다는 사실을 보여 준다.

Recently, the use of assembled-type drills as environmentally friendly products has expanded because the shanks of drills can be reused by replacing the tip when the tools are worn or cut. In addition to their precision and endurable stiffness with respect to the cutting force, assembled-type drills need no stricture because of thermal deformation, which makes replacement easily. In this study, we developed novel assembled-type drills and compared their characteristics, such as the precision, stiffness, and thermal deformation, with those of conventional drills. The new drills exhibited a precision over IT 8 class and no changes in dimensions due to thermal deformation, such that we can change the assembly easily with durability.
레이저 회절 측정기를 이용한 벤츄리 캐비테이션에서의 마이크로버블 발생 특성 연구

The use of micro bubbles in industrial fields has been increasing in the recent years., particularly micro-bubble sterilization and water purification effects. Various methods have been developed for the generation of micro-bubbles. Depending on the method of generating bubbles, the micro-bubbles can be roughly classified into saturation molding, cavitation and rotation flow types. The objective of this study was to use ventilated tube type as a method of generating micro-bubbles in order to purify large amount of water quality such as lakes and reservoirs. This method shows a difference in efficiency in which micro-bubbles are generated depending on the contact ratio of gas to liquid. The study also investigated the optimal gas․liquid contact ratio by applying various orifice methods and investigated the optimum condition of micro-bubble generation by gas․Based on this, a technology to develop a micro-bubble generator with a venturi type nozzle shape that has a high water purification effect was developed.

It is difficult to explain the magnetic phase transition with classical physics in Curie temperature. We studied qualitatively with the well known Ising model in statistical mechanics. We simulated systems of finite size by Monte Carlo methods with Metropolis algorithm. Thus we could estimate the values of quantities such as the magnetization(m) per spin the specific heat(c) per spin the magnetic susceptibility(χ) per spin, and the mean energy per spin compare with the numerical values in infinitive size. The quantities of c, m, χ, e varied rapidly within 2.3∼2.4 temperature at J/k units. Those values show that the critical temperature can be within the range. The hysteresis loop was obtained with this model.
미끄럼 방지 제동장치용 솔레노이드 밸브의 모델링에 관한 연구

Anti-lock Brake System has been developed to reduce tendency for wheel lock and improve vehicle control during sudden braking on slippery road surfaces. This is achieved by controlling the braking pressure avoiding wheel lock, while retaining handling and brake performance. This paper is concerned about characteristics of a solenoid valve in hydraulic modulator for controlling brake pressure. First, it was modeling the electromagnet by the permeance method. Second, it was modeling the commercial Maxwell poackage program. And then, a experiment was performed in order to justify modeling. The result of modeling coincided with teh result of experiment and commercial packabe program. As a result, these modelings will be able to use in analysis of dynamic character- istics of the solenoid valve for braking.

The appearance of the super bacteria arose from mis- or abuse of antibiotics lead to the increasing interest about strong and safety new antibiotics. Angelica dahurica Bentham et Hooker (ADBH) is a herbal antibiotic drug which has been frequently prescribed in oriental pharmacology and has historically proven to be effective for bacterial infection. However, the molecular mechanism of the herbal antibiotic has not been cleared. Here, we examined the ADBH’s antibiotic mechanism at the molecular level. We have focused on the simultaneous multi-target inhibitory effect of the of the ADBH ethyl acetate (EA) fraction on the enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli O157:H7. Disk diffusion and DNA microarray was performed to investigate the molecular mechanism of the ADBH’s antibiotic effect, and real-time quantitative PCR was employed to confirm the microarray data. The inhibitory effect of the ADBH EA fraction was on the bacterial cell envelope formation, folate biosynthesis, DNA replication and etiological factors of the E. coli O157:H7. This multi-target efficacy of the herbal antibiotic may be used as more effective and safer drugs that substitute existing antibiotics.
