Red mud/fly ash 기반 geopolymer 흡착제의 소성온도에 따른 특성 및 흡착거동

본 연구는 red mud와 fly ash 기반 geopolymer 흡착제(RFGPA)를 소성 온도 변화(200, 400, 600 °C)에 따라 제조하고 소성 온도가 methylene blue (MB)의 흡착에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 또한, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), 및 Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) 분석을 통해 제조한 RFGPA의 특성을 조사하였다. MB를 이용한 소성 온도에 따른 RFGPA의 흡착 kinetics 결과 약 72시간에 MB 흡착 평형에 도달하였고, 흡착 isotherm 결과 MB 농도가 증가함에 따라 흡착 정도가 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 또한, RFGPA에 대해 소성 온도가 증가할수록 MB 흡착량이 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. RFGPA의 MB 흡착메커니즘을 확인하기 위해 수학적 모델식에 적용한 결과 상대적으로 Freundlich와 Sips 모델이 Langmuir 모델 보다 더 적합한 것을 확인하였다. 제조한 RFGPA 내에 존재하는 Fe2O3에 대한 MB의 광분해 효과를 확인하기 위해 dark condition 및 visible condition에서 MB 분해 정도를 분석한 결과 visible condition에서 분해속도가 dark condition보다 약 3배 빠른 것을 확인하였다. In this study, red mud/fly ash based geopolymer adsorbents (RFGPA) were prepared with calcination temperatures of 200, 400, and 600 °C, and the effects of these calcination temperatures on the adsorption of methylene blue (MB) were investigated. In addition, the prepared RFGPA was characterized using X-ray fluorescence (XRF), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and Brunauer-Emmett- Teller (BET) analysis. The results of the adsorption kinetics of MB at RFGPA prepared calcination temperatures indicated that the adsorption equilibrium of MB was reached after about 72 h. From the results of the adsorption isotherm, we verified that the degree of adsorption increased with increasing MB concentrations. In addition, the adsorption amount (Q) of MB decreased with an increase in calcination temperature. The experimental adsorption isotherm data were well fitted to the Freundlich and Sips equations compared to the Langmuir equation. In order to verify the effects of photocatalytic decomposition (C/C<sub>0</sub>) of MB on Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> present in prepared RFGPA, the degree of decomposition of MB was examined under dark and visible conditions. Results indicated that the decomposition of MB in visible conditions was about 3.0 times faster than that in dark conditions.

Background: The purpose of this study was to examine associations between classification of the Geriatric Screening for Care-10 (GSC-10) and the Morse Fall Scale (MFS) among elderly inpatients. Methods: Among elderly inpatients aged over 65 admitted to hospital (from November 1, 2016 to July 31, 2017), the data for 5,780 patients (who were evaluated using the Morse Fall Scale and the Geriatric Screening for Care-10) were analyzed using x2-tests and t-tests to examine differences between the GSC-10 and MFS, according to general characteristics of elderly inpatients (i.e., gender) using IBM SPSS Statistics 24. Results: : Scores for the GSC-10 were significantly higher in women than men for depression (p<.001), delirium (p=.048), functional decline (p<.001), incontinence (p<.001), and pain (p<.001). Statistically significant differences in all domains of the GSC-10 for elderly hospitalized patients were found for the classification of fall risk. Conclusion: The findings of this study, as supported by the GSC-10, indicate that the most common problems experienced by the elderly are related to the risk of falling. In order to reduce the incidence of falls in elderly inpatients, customized fall prevention based on the GSC-10 results is necessary.
F344 랫드를 이용한 이황화메틸의 아급성 흡입독성연구

이황화메틸의 반복 흡입노출에 의한 아급성 독성 잠재력을 평가하기 위해 암수 랫드에게 0, 5, 25 및 125 ppm용량으로 21일간 반복 흡입노출하고, 일반증상과 체중, 사료섭취 량, 혈액치, 혈청생화학치 및 부검소견을 관찰하였다. 시험결과, 랫드에게 이황화메틸을 3주간 반복 흡입노출하면 125 ppm의 농도에서 체중증가의 억제와 사료섭취 량의 감소를 유발하나, 혈액 및 혈청생화학치에는 어떠한 이상도 유발하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 본 시험 조건 하에서 이황화메틸의 표적 장기는 관찰되지 않았으며, 무해용량은 암수 모두 25 ppm으로 사료된다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential subacute toxicity of dimethyl disulfide by 3 weeks inhalation in F344 rats. The test article, dimethyl disulfide was exposed by inhalation to male and female rats at dose levels of 0, 5, 25, or 125 ppm/6 hrs/ day for 3 weeks. Five rats/ sex/ group were sacrificed on day 4 after the initiation of treatment, while 5 rats/ sex/ group were sacrificed at the end of treatment period. During the test period, clinical signs, mortality, body weights, food consumption, hematology, serum biochemistry, and gross findings were examined. Slight decreases in body weight gain were noted in both sexes of the highest dose group in a dose dependent manner but were only statistically different from the control animals in males of the group. A slight non-significant reduction in food consumption were also noted in the both sexes of the highest dose group. There were no adverse effects on mortality, clinical signs, hematology, serum biochemistry, and necropsy findings at any dose tested. Based on these results, it was concluded that the 3 weeks repeated dose of dimethyl disulfide by inhalation resulted in suppressed body weight gain and decreased food consumption at 125 ppm of both sexes. In the present experimental conditions, the target organ was not determined in rats. The noobserved-adverse-effect level (NOAEL) was considered to be 25 ppm/6 hrs/day for both sexes.
