In the present study, it was aimed to find the role of calcium on the maturation of mouse follicular oocytes as well as for the role of calcium inhibitors, $Ni^{2+}$ and $La^{3+}$. Mouse follicular oocytes were cultivated in different media at $37^{\circ}C$, in 100% humidified $CO_2$ incubator for 3 and 17 hrs. The results were as follows; 1. There was no differences in GVBD between the control and experimental groups during the 3 hr culture. 2. Mouse oocytes were matured to higher rate in MHBS rather than HTF for 17 hr culture. 3. Maturation rate was significantly lower in $Ca^{2+}$-free and $Ca^{2+}$ 0.4 mM which were tested, compared to other calcium concentration used in the present study. 4. Calcium inhibitor, $Ni^{2+}$, it showed highest degeneration rate at all calcium concentrations and additionally in $Ni^{2+}$ $100{\mu}M$ treated group next. Maturation rate was significantly decrease as the $Ca^{2+}$ inhibitor concentration increased. 5. In all Lanthanum treated groups of calcium-free, degeneration were significantly high treated groups at 0.4 mM $Ca^{2+}$ concentrations degeneration rates of all group were significantly lower than that of the control but maturation rates were not significantly different in any group. In lanthanum $100{\mu}M$ treated group at 0.4 mM and 0.8 mM calcium concentration, its maturation rate was significantly higher than that of the control. Maturation rates of all groups of lanthanum treated at 1.71 mM calcium concentration were not significantly different among groups. 6. In the calcium treated group (0.4mM-1.7 mM), the presence of phosphate does not seem to be needed for oocyte maturation. However, the presence of phosphate at $Ca^{2+}$ 0.8 mM only seems to stimulated maturation.

Objective : Heat shock protein family is related to protective mechanism of cells by environmental changes. This study was performed to evaluate the effect of cryopreservation on the heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) expression in mouse ovarian tissue. Methods : Cryopreservation of mouse ovarian tissue was carried out by slow freezing method. The mRNA level of Hsp90 expression in both fresh and cryopreserved mouse ovarian tissue was analyzed by RT-PCR. The protein expression of Hsp90 was evaluated by Western blot analysis and immunohistochemistry. Results: The mRNA and protein of Hsp90 were expressed in both fresh and cryopreserved mouse ovarian tissue. The amount of Hsp90 mRNA was increased in cryopreserved ovarian tissue after 60 and 90 minutes after thawing and incubation. The amount of Hsp90 protein was increased in the cryopreserved ovarian tissue after 6 hours of the incubation in Western blot analysis. In immunohistochemical study, Hsp90 protein was localized in cytoplasm of oocytes and granulosa cells. Significant level of immunoreactive Hsp90 protein was detected in theca cells contrast to the weak expression in ovarian epithelial cells. Conclusion: This results showed the increase of Hsp90 expression in both mRNA and protein level in the cryopreserved mouse ovarian tissue. It can be suggested that Hsp90 may play a role in the protective or recovery mechanism against the cell damage during cryopreservaion.

The case reports for clostridium perfringens type A enterotoxemia in Formosan deer have rarely been reported. This paper describes a natural case of type A enterotoxemia in farmed Formosan deer in Cheongwon-gun. A dead, male 10-month-old Formosan deer was submitted to Chungbuk Livestock and Veterinary Research Institute, March 24, 2001 and examined. That deer was fed with assorted grain feed, oak leaves, acorn and bean curd. Grossly there was no visible external change. Despite of the carcass being examined within 12 hours of death, there was a quite degree of postmortem decomposition. There was severe hemorrhage in the serosa of abomasum and small intestine. Much blood tinged and watery contents were contained in those organs. Also there were severe swelling of spleen, some red foci in hepatic parenchyma. Microscopically there were severe congestion and hemorrhage in mucosa, submucosa, muscular layer, and serosa of abomasum and small intestine. Also spleen and pancreas showed severe congestion and hemorrhage. There were multifocal hemorrhage with hepatic necrosis in periportal area and focal mononuclear cell deposition in sinusoid. In bacterial culture for small intestine, Cl peifringens was isolated. By toxin typing for the strain, that had α-toxin belonged to type A. In electronmicroscopy for feces, no virus particle was detected. Considering clinical signs, gross lesions, microscopic lesions, bacterial culture, and toxin typing of the isolate, this case was diagnosed as enterotoxemia by Cl perfringens type A.

In recent vehicles, the launch clutch is mainly used in hybrid or DCT transmissions instead of torque converter which is traditional starting device, as fuel economy is important. The clutch consists of several friction materials, lubricating and cooling by transmission fluid. Clutch slip control during gradient launch causes heat to be generated from the friction materials and may cause the clutch to be damaged. In order to protect the friction materials, it is necessary to predict the temperature of the friction materials during slip control to limit clutch operation if necessary. In this paper, we developed a simulation model for predicting clutch temperature using experimental method. The developed temperature model verified for accuracy by transient (at engage clutch) test and the temperature model error was within 10% of the maximum temperature compared to the experimental result Also, we confirmed accuracy of temperature model due to slope of engage, flow rate and temperature of fluid.
비디오 서버를 위한 적응적 예악기반 피기백킹 알고리즘의 설계 및 평가

A critical issue in the performance of a video-on-demand system is the I/O bandwidth required in order to satisfy client requests. Several approaches: batching, bridging, piggybacking are used ot reduce the I/O demand on the video server through sharing. Piggybacking is the policy for altering display rates of requests in progress fro the same object, for the purpose of merging their corresponding I/O streams into a single stream, which can serve the entire group of merged requests. In this paper, we propose a new policy called an adaptive reservation-based piggybacking that dynamically reserves the I/O stream capacity of video server for popular videos according to video server loads to immediately schedule the requests for popular videos. The performance of the proposed policy is evaluated through simulations, and is compared with that of simple piggybacking. As the result, we know that the adaptive reservation-based piggybacking provides better service probability, average waiting time and percentages saving in frames than simple piggybacking.

Ethosuximide is an oral anticonvulsantic agent used in the first choice anti-absence seizure drug. The purpose of this study was to assess the pharmacokinetic profile of the ethosuximide in healthy Korean volunteers and to develop the efficient assay method of ethosuximide in human plasma. The pharmacokinetics of ethosuximide administered orally was evaluated after a dose of 500 mg. Ethosuximide was assayed from plasma by a specific HPLC method reading absorbance at 195 nm. AUC was 1222±160 μg/ml·hr, Cmax 14.21±1.74 μg/ml, Tmax 1.06±0.62 hr and half-life 77.83±12.46 hr. The half-life in Korean was longer than, in Caucasian (53~56 hr).
분산형 결함 허용 Commit 프로토콜의 설계 및 평가

본 논문에서는 분산 시스템을 구성하는 각 프로세서가 물리적으로 완전히 연결된 형태의 통신망을 갖는 시스템 환경하에서 발생 가능한 사이트 결함과 통신 결함에 대하여 효율적으로 대처할 수 있는 분산형 결함 허용 Commit 프로토콜을 설계하였다. 그리고 제안된 프로토콜을 FSA(Finite State Automation)로 formal model을 작성하여 원자성, 동기성, 그리고 blocking을 분석하여 그 타당성을 입증하고, 아울러 time complexity와 message complexity를 계산하여 제안된 프로토콜의 성능도 평가하였다. This thesis designs a distributed fault-tolerant commit protocol that efficiently handles site and communication failures in fully connected distributed systems. We construct a formal model for the suggested protocol using the FSA(Finite State Automaton). We also analyze the atomicity, resiliency, synchronization and blocking by the formal model, and evaluate the performance of the protocol by time complexity and message complexity.
