        ZnO 나노선의 합성에서의 미량산소의 영향

        The effect of oxygen in the synthesis of oxide nanowires by using carbothermal reduction process have been studied thermodynamically and kinetically. By using laboratory air, ZnO nanowires could be fabricated in the carbothermal reduction process and a metal oxidation process. As the processing pressure decreases, the diameter of the nanowires decreases and the oxygen vacancy increases. As the processing pressure increases, the oxygen vacancy decreases and the shape of the ZnO becomes plate-like.

        Design, Syntheses, and Conformational Study of Angiogenesis Inhibitors

        Since anti-angiogenesis could lead to the suppression of tumor growth, angiogenesis inhibitors have received particular attention for their therapeutic potential. In this study, two angiogenic inhibitors using the bioactive sequence from the kring le 5, AK1(KLYDY), AK2(KLWDF) were designed and synthesized. We have investigated their solution structures using NMR spectroscopy and their activities as angiogenesis inhibitors. AK2 has an intramolecular hydrogen bon d between the side chain amino proton of Lys1 and the carboxyl oxygen of Asp4 with a N ${\cdot}{\cdot}{\cdot}$O distance of $3.27\AA$, while AK1 shows more flexible structures than AK2. Indole ring in Trp is much bigger than the phenyl ring in Tyr and may have good face-to-edge interaction enforcing more rigid and constrained conformational features of AK2. Because of this relatively stable structure, Trp3 in AK2 may have better hydrophobic interaction with Phe5 than Tyr3 in AK1 if two adjacent aromatic groups are located in hydrophobic pocket of receptor. Since AK2 shows the similar anti-angiogenic activities to AK1, we are also able to confirm that the activity of AK1 is irrelevant to the Tyr phosphorylation. More rigid drug with higher activities can be provided by the mimetic approaches. For the further development of the angiogenesis inhibitors, these conformational studies on our lead peptides will be helpful in design of peptidomimetics.

        물체의 크기와 이동거리에 따른 속도감 변화

        Human perceptional speed is different from its real speed. There is lack of research that the perceptional speed is different from real speed in 2-dimension, because most research of speed perception has concentrated on points and lines. This research investigates the effects of object size on speed perception. In this research, we used 2-D circular objects of the different size, 0.9, 1.8 and $3.6^{\circ}$. The objects moved 9.0, 13.5 and $18.0^{\circ}$ with three different speeds, 6.0, 9.0 and $18.0^{\circ}$/s. Six participants were exposed to the environment with standard scene(size: $1.8^{\circ}$, speed: $9.0^{\circ}$/s and travel distance: $13.5^{\circ}$). After the first scene, another scene in which the object had changed to different sizes, speeds and distances, was shown to the participants. A magnitude estimation method was used to construct a scale of the perceived speed level. The relationship between the perceived and the actual speed level was explained by Stevens's power law that the value was 0.978 with the exponent of 0.992. The size of object had an effect on the speed perception but travel distance was not. The perceptional speed of bigger object was lower than of smaller object. It showed that the degrees of perceptional speed decreased as size of object increased.

        화면 움직임과 Cybersickness의 관계에 관한 연구

        This paper investigates the effects of scene movements on cybersickness to develop the guidelines of scene movements in virtual environments. The types of scene movements were made for both scene navigations(through the axes of X: lateral, Y: fore & after, and Z: vertical) and scene rotations(by pitch, roll and yaw). And there were each three levels of speed; 2.7, 4.5 and 6.3 /s(for navigation), and 10, 20 and 30 /s(for rotation) were conducted. Twelve participants were exposed to each scene for 15 minutes, and three tests were performed to measure the degree of sickness. Before and after subjects were exposed to virtual environments, they were requested to describe their sickness symptoms by means of answering the Simulator Sickness Questionnaire(SSQ). And the postural stability tests, in which the Center of Pressure(COP) of subjects were traced and recorded by a 'force platform', were conducted. During the exposure on virtual environments, the subjects were requested to rate the degree of nausea. For both navigation and rotation, the effects of speeds and axes were significant in the SSQ scores and the nausea ratings, while it was not in the COP. The correlation between the SSQ scores and the COP data was not found. Therefore, it was inappropriate to use COP as a measure of cybersickness. The degree of sickness increased, except for the case of the yaw, as the speed increased. The sickness was most severe in the scene navigation through the axis X and in the scene rotation by the yaw.

        요추 척추관 협착증의 평가척도에 대한 고찰

        Objectives : The aim of this study was to understand scale of lumbar spinal stenosis. Methods : Papers including questionnaires for assessment disability, fuction, activity limitation, or prticipation restriction in adult patients with low back pain or spinal stenosis were searched in the MEDLINE. Results and Conclusions : 1. VAS, VRS, NRS were recommended to the pain scale. 2.ODI and RMDQ were recommended to the function scale. 3. ODI, RMDQ, QBPDS, LBOS, MVAS, WDI commonly used to the fuction scale.

        C-D gain의 변화를 고려한 Fitts 이동시간 추정 모델에 관한 연구

        During human-computer interaction(HCI), people typically send inputs to computers through electromechanical pointing devices. Many applied studies have therefore evaluated cursor-positioning movements made with various pointing devices. Though there were so many studies about performance of various pointing devices, it was nearly impossible to compare device performance each other until the Fitts' law was applied. It does appear that Fitts' law may predict performance reasonably well for the one C-D gain level. But in varying C-D gain levels, Fitts' law could not predict movement time. This study investigated the effects of C-D gain in mouse movement time and suggested a revised Fitts' model including C-D gain as an independent variable. The revised Fitts' model may use to measure the performance of various devices in varying C-D gain levels.

        해양생태독성평가를 위한 표준시험방법 개발에 관한 연구

        해양생태독성평가를 위한 공정시험방법으로서 해양생태계의 분해자, 기초생산자 및 소비자를 대표하는 6개 생물군을 이용하여 각각의 생물에 대한 생태독성시험용 표준시험방법(standard methods)을 개발 또는 정립하였다. 본 시험방법은 미환경보호국, 국제기구 및 유럽국가의 표준시험방법을 참고하였으며, 독성시험에 사용되는 표준시험생물은 우리나라에 서식하는 해양성 또는 광염성 생물(euryhaline species)로 선정하였다. 각 시험방법은 표준시험생물의 배양 및 사육, 시험방법 및 과정, 시험의 재현성 및 적합도 기준 등을 포함한다. 표준시험생물은 총 9종으로서 해산발광박테리아(Vibrio fischeri), 해산규조류(Skeletonema costatum), 녹조구멍갈파래(Ulva pertusa), 해산윤충류(Brachionus plicatilis), 저서요각류(Tigriopus japonicus), 저서단각류 2종(Mandibulophoxus mai and Monocorophium acherusicum) 및 어류 2종(Oryzias latipes and Paralichthys olivaceus)을 포함한다. 표준시험생물은 해양생태계의 기초생산자, 분해자 및 소비자를 대표하며, 생태독성 시험시 각 영양 단계별 최소 1종을 포함하는 총 3종의 "battery test"를 권장한다. Six standard methods for marine ecotoxicological tests were established(or applicated) using marine decomposer, primary producers and consumers. Development processes referred to the standard methods established by USEPA(United States Environmental Protection Agency), international organizations and European methods. However, the standard test species were selected among the domestic species generally found in the Korean waters and sediments. The test methods provide the culture/maintenance of test species, test methods, reproducibility and quality acceptance criteria etc. A total of nine test species were designated including bioluminescent bacteria(Vibrio fischeri), diatom(Skeletonema costatum), seaweed(Ulva pertusa), rotifer(Brachionus plicatilis), benthic copepod(Tigriopus japonicus), benthic amphipods(Mandibulophoxus mai, Monocorophium acherusicum), and fishes(Oryzias latipes, Paralichthys olivaceus). These test species represent the decomposer, primary producer and consumers in marine trophic system in Korean coastal ecosystems, and we recommend the "battery test" including at least one species from the each trophic level for marine ecotoxicological test.

        Structure of Seed Storage Protein and Starch Grains in the Endosperm of Rice Seeds

        두가지 쌀 품종(品種) 종자(種子)(S-201, IR-8)의 호분층을 주사(走査) 및 투과(透過) 전자현미경(電子顯微鏡)으로 관찰(觀察)하면 구형(球形)과 결정형(結晶形)의 단백질체(蛋白質體)가 있는 것으로 밝혀졌으며, 구형(球形) 단백질체(蛋白質體)는 세포질내(細胞質內)에 존재(存在)하고 결정형(結晶形) 단백질체(蛋白質體)는 액포내(液胞內)에서 관찰(觀察)되었다. 가상적(假想的)인 한발 스트레스로서 열자극 처리(處理)($40^{\circ}C$ 에서 4시간)는 호분층(糊粉層)내에 단백질체(蛋白質體) 수에서 정상적(正常的)인 대조구보다 $40{\sim}50%$ 감소(減少)되었다. 또한 호분층(糊粉層)에서 단백질체(蛋白質體) 수의 감소(減少)는 IR-8품종(品種)보다 S-201품종(品種)에서 더욱 현저(顯著)하게 관찰(觀察)되었다. 열자극 처리(處理)로서 단백질체(蛋白質體) 수의 감소(減少)는 S-201품종(品種)에서 결정형(結晶形) 단백질체(蛋白質體)를 둘러싸고 있는 tonoplast membrane의 손상(損傷)으로 밝혀졌으며, 이런 손상(損傷)은 IR-8품종(品種)에는 좀 덜하다는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 이것은 S-201품종(品種)이 IR-8품종(品種)보다 열 자극(刺戟)(한발 스트레스)에 더욱 민감(敏感)하다는 것으로 사료된다. 두 품종(品種)의 종자(種子) 내배유(內胚乳)에 녹말(綠末)이 가득찬 주사(走査) 전자현미경(電子顯微鏡) 사진(寫眞)은 녹말(綠末)이 내배유(內胚乳)의 중앙(中央)으로부터 사출(査出)되는 hexagonal rods로 구성(構成)되어 있다는 것을 나타낸다. 이러한 hexagonal rods는 rods부터 쉽게 분쇄될 수 있는 triangular sectors로 구성(構成)되어 있으며, 이 sectors들의 각 내부(內部)는 $2{\sim}8$개의 단위(單位)로 구성(構成)되어 있는 커다란 compound starch grains들이 들어 있다. 이것은 쌀 내배유세포(內胚乳細胞)에서 compound starch drains들의 매우 다양한 크기를 설명(說明)하고 있다.
