This work is a uihwabon novel by Pung Mongnyong who was active in Myung Period. Uihwabon novels, a new style narative form which remodelled existing hwabon-a kind of storytelling performance-based texts-as something for reading, comprise prologue, body and epilogue. This work is notable in the two aspects as follows: one is that in this work the figure of Jangja as a husband is more empathized than as a taoist, the other is that there are some differences in tone to describe Jangja between the parts of prologue and epilogue and body part. Unlike in the body part the third-person narrator describes Jangja’s character, in the parts of prologue and epilogue the storyteller leads the story and describes Jangja with first-person narrator’s point of view, to the extent that the writer becomes easily involved in the story and the description of Jangja. As a result in the body part the character of Jangja tends to be “shown” by his dialogues and actions, in the rest two parts that tends to be “told” by the writer who disguises as storyteller. I would focus on Jangja’s figure that is “shown” in chapterⅡ and on Jangja’s figure that is “told” in chapter Ⅲ, thereby exploring Jangja’s character as a husband who is possessed with ‘infidelity delusion’ in chapter Ⅱ and that as a great person who achieved “awakening.” In chaper Ⅳ I would consider writer Pung Mongnyong’s way of thinking as a background to cause such a difference. 「장자휴고분성대도」는 명나라 때 문인 풍몽룡이 지은 의화본 소설이다. 의화본은 기존의 話本을 읽기 위한용도로 윤색하거나, 화본의 체제를 모방하여 讀物의 형태로 창작한 것을 가리키는데 화본처럼 입화 ‒ 정화 ‒ 결미로 구성된다. 이 작품은 여러모로 흥미를 유발하는데 이 글에서 특히 다음 두 가지 점에 주목한다. 첫째 이작품에는 道家 사상가로서의 장자의 公的인 모습보다는 한 여자의 남편으로서의 私的인 면모가 집중적으로 그려지고 있다는 것과 둘째 장자에 대한 시각이 입화·결미 부분과 정화 부분간에 상당한 차이를 보인다는 점이다. 정화는 서술자가 3인칭 시점으로 이야기를 전개해 가는 것에 비해 입화와 결미 부분은 설화인이 1인칭 시점으로 이끌어 가기 때문에 작자의 개입이 쉽게 이루어진다. 이로 인해 장자의 모습이 정화에서는 인물의 말과 행동을 통해 ‘보여지는’ 양상을 띠고 입화와 결미에서는 설화인의 목소리를 빌린 작자에 의해 ‘말해지는’ 양상을 띤다. 그리하여 Ⅱ장에서는 ‘보여지는’ 장자의 모습에 Ⅲ장에서는 ‘말해지는’ 장자의 모습에 중점을 두고논의했다. ‘보여지는’ 장자는 아내의 정절을 의심하는 부정망상을 지닌 남편의 모습이고 ‘말해지는’ 장자는 대도를 성취한 인물의 모습이다. Ⅳ장에서는 이같은 차이가 유발되는 동인으로서 작자 풍몽룡의 가치관, 사고방식 등을 검토하였다.

산업화와 정보화 시대가 급속도로 변화하고 있는 현대 사회는 '디자인의 시대'라고 할 만큼 산업과 생활 전반에 걸쳐 디자인의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 개방적이고 다원화되는 변화의 시대에 새로운 것도 좋지만 고유의 전통문화를 바탕으로 한 한국적인 특색을 강조한 것만이 국제사회에서 설득력 있는 국가의 이미지와 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있다. 이에 한국 전통이미지의 주얼리를 연구하고 개발해야 할 필요성으로 단순히 옛 것을 재현하거나 모방하는 것이 아니라 현대가 요구하는 독창성이 있으며, 뚜렷한 우리의 정체성 느낄 수 있는 국제적 감각을 지닌 한국 고유의 주얼리 디자인을 하고자 하였다.

Background Proper nasal tip projection and rotation are essential for an aesthetically pleasing nose. However, East Asians usually have thicker skin and underdeveloped nasal cartilage compared to Caucasians. Thus, techniques such as the septal extension graft, columellar strut graft, and L-shaped alloplastic implants have been introduced for additional nasal tip support and projection. However, no consensus exists regarding the optimal method. Methods A hybrid columellar strut made of an osteochondral graft recombined with the nasal crest of the maxilla and conchal cartilage was devised. In a cadaveric study, changes due to an external bending force of the hybrid strut and costal cartilage in the same dimension were measured. In a comparative study, we divided 20 subjects into two groups according to the material used for the columellar strut graft: a hybrid columellar strut (experimental group) and a double-layered conchal columellar strut (control group). Preoperative, 1-month postoperative, and 1-year postoperative anthropometric measurements were compared between groups. Results In the cadaveric study, the hybrid columellar strut showed superior mechanical strength. In the comparative study, the average 1-year postoperative change of the columellar labial angle was significantly smaller in the experimental group (–0.7°±1.16° vs. 2.2°±1.32°, P=0.015). The hybrid columellar strut showed superior postoperative nasal tip stability. Conclusions We devised a new hybrid columellar strut and confirmed its superior mechanical firmness and stability. Considering the suggested indications and contraindications, the hybrid columellar strut graft can be a new modality for tip plasty in East Asian rhinoplasty that can provide sufficient long-term nasal tip stability.

Identification of factors influencing regional population is critical for establishing government's population policies as well as for improving residents' social, economic and cultural well-being in the region. In this study we analysed the data from 2019 Population Housing Survey in Korea to identify the factors affecting the population size in each of the three regions: Seoul, metropolitan cities, and provincial regions. We applied a Bayesian quantile regression to account for asymmetry and heteroscedasticity of data. The analysis results showed that the effects of factors vary greatly between the three regions of Seoul, metropolitan cities, and provincial regions as well as between sub regions within the same region. These results suggest that population-related variables have very heterogeneous characteristics from region to region and therefore it is important to establish customized population policies that suit regional characteristics rather than uniform population policies that apply to every region.
Metformin inhibits cervical cancer cell proliferation via decreased AMPK O-GlcNAcylation

Metformin is a widely used drug for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Antidiabetic drugs are also known to influence cancer progression, as high glucose levels affect both cancer and diabetes. Metformin induces cell cycle arrest in cancer cells, but the underlying mechanism remains unclear in cervical cancer system. Here, we examined how metformin affects cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in cervical cancer cells. Western blot analysis showed that levels of O-linked Nacetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) and O-GlcNAc transferase (OGT) were increased in cervical cancer cells; these effects were reversed by metformin treatment. Immunoprecipitation analysis was used to examine the interplay between O-GlcNAcylation and phosphorylation in HeLa cells, revealing that metformin decreased O-GlcNAcylated AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) and increased levels of phospho-AMPK compared to untreated cells. These results were associated with decreased cell cycle arrest and apoptotic cell death in HeLa cells, as shown by flow cytometry. Moreover, 6-diazo-5-oxo-L-norleucine (a glutamine fructose-6-phosphate aminotransferase inhibitor) or thiamet G (an O-GlcNAcase inhibitor) decreased or increased levels of O-GlcNAcylated AMPK, and increased or decreased levels of phosphorylated AMPK, respectively, suggesting that OGlcNAc modification affects AMPK activation. Of note, we found that metformin treatment of HeLa cells increased the levels of p21 and p27 (which are AMPK-dependent cell cycle inhibitors), leading to increased cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in HeLa cells compared to untreated cells. These findings suggest that metformin may serve as a useful antiproliferative drug in cervical cancer cells, with potential therapeutic benefit.

Gout, a chronic inflammatory arthritic disease, is characterized by hyperuricemia. Gout can be induced by an inflammatory response to monosodium urate (MSU) crystals mediated by pro-inflammatory cytokine release following activation of the NOD-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome. Many sulfur-containing phytochemical compounds in garlic (Allium sativum L.) are considered active ingredients because of their potential pharmacological benefits for various diseases, but their efficacy in NLRP3 inflammasome activation-mediated gout has not been demonstrated. In this study, we investigated whether diallyl disulfide (DADS) and diallyl trisulfide (DATS), representative garlic-derived sulfur compounds, have an inhibitory effect on MSU-induced NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Our results showed that under non-cytotoxic conditions, DADS and DATS significantly blocked nitric oxide production and interleukin (IL)-1β release in response to MSU in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)- primed RAW 264.7 macrophages. DADS and DATS also attenuated enhanced expression of NLRP3 and its adapter protein, apoptosis-associated speck-like protein, which was associated with downregulation of and caspase-1 p20 and IL-1β expression, suggesting that MSU-induced LRP3 inflammasome activation was counteracted by DADS and DATS. Furthermore, DADS and DATS blocked oxidative stress, an upstream event for NLRP3 inflammasome activation, as evidenced by the fact that they scavenged reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Taken together, our findings demonstrate that DADS and DATS suppressed NLRP3 inflammasome activation by inhibiting the ROS/NLRP3 pathway and that they have potential as treatments for NLRP3-dependent gouty arthritis.
PVDF-HFP/LLZO 복합 고체전해질 기반 전고체 전지 실용화를 위한대면적 시트 제조 기술 개발

PEO 기반 복합 고체 전해질은 고온에서 이온 전도도와 열적 안정성이 뛰어나지만, 얇을수록 기계적강도가 약해져 배터리 수명이 줄어드는 단점이 있다. 이를 개선하기 위해 본 연구에서는 PVDF-HFP 기반 대면적 복합 고체 전해질 시트를 테이프 캐스팅 후 in-situ 중합으로 제작하여 열적 안정성을 유지하고 기계적 강도를 높였다. 그 결과, 70oC에서 3.2 ~ 4.2 × 10⁻4S/cm의 이온 전도도와 0.33 C, 50 사이클에서 92.5% 용량 유지율을 확보했다. PEO-based composite solid electrolytes exhibit high ionic conductivity and thermal stability at elevatedtemperatures; however, as the thickness decreases, mechanical strength weakens, leading to reduced batterylifespan. To address this issue, this study fabricated a large-area PVDF-HFP-based composite solidelectrolyte sheet using tape casting combined with in-situ polymerization to enhance both thermal stability andmechanical strength. As a result, the electrolyte achieved an ionic conductivity of 3.2~4.2 × 10−4S/cm at 70℃and retained 92.5% capacity after 50 cycles at 0.33C.
