꽈배기 모자반 물 추출물의 항산화능과 물리적 특성에 대한 감마선 조사의 영향

본 연구에서는 꽈배기모자반 물 추출물에 식품산업에서 사용이 확대되고 있는 감마선 조사기술을 이용하여 항산화능의 변화를 알아보고, 꽈배기모자반 물 추출물의 높은 점성과 짙은 색상으로 인한 문제점을 개선하고자 하였다. 꽈배기모자반 물 추출물의 감마선 조사에 따른 항산화능의 변화를 알아보기 위해 총 페놀화합물 함량을 측정하고 DPPH radical 소거능을 측정하였다. 그 결과, 3~20 kGy의 감마선을 조사한 꽈배기모자반 물 추출물은 조사선량이 증가할수록 총 페놀화합물 함량이 증가하였고, DPPH radical 소거능도 증가하여 감마선 조사에 의해 항산화능이 증진되었다. 그리고 꽈배기모자반 물 추출물에 감마선 조사 시 물리적 특성 변화를 알아보기 위해 색상과 점도를 측정한 결과, 감마선 조사선량이 증가할수록 색이 옅어지고 점성이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 꽈배기모자반 물 추출물에 감마선을 조사한 후 식품에 적용 시 가공특성을 개선시킬 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. 따라서 감마선 조사는 꽈배기모자반 물 추출물의 물리적 특성을 개선시키고 항산화능 또한 증진시키므로 식품산업에 적용 시 기존의 천연 항산화제의 단점을 개선시킬 수 있는 기술로서 사용이 확대될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다. In this study, the antioxidant properties and physical characteristics of irradiated Sargassum siliquastrum water extract were evaluated. Samples were irradiated with Co<SUP>60</SUP> γ-ray at doses ranging from 3 to 20 kGy. They were then analyzed to investigate antioxidant properties, including total phenolic compound content and DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity. In addition, physical properties such as viscosity and color were evaluated. The results demonstrated that total phenolic compound content and DPPH radical scavenging activity were significantly improved (p<0.05) by irradiation. In terms of physical properties, viscosity and color were reduced in the irradiated extracts as compared to non-irradiated samples. In conclusion, gamma irradiation improved the antioxidant properties of Sargassum siliquastrum water extract, improving its original weak point as a natural antioxidant when applied in the food industry.

The neoplastic variant of calcifying odontogenic cyst has various designation, and its malignant counterpart has been reported as aggressive epithelial ghost cell tumor or odontogenic ghost cell carcinoma. Odontogenic ghost cell carcinoma(OGCC) is a rare carcinoma first documented in 1985. It is composed of varying sized islands of anucleated cells with homogenous, pale eosinophilic cytoplasm, so called ghost cells, were admixed with nucleated cells. We report a case of maxillary OGCC developed from odontogenic epithelial tumor in a 25-year-old man with literature review.

Objectives: To determine Korean national priority for research and development planning for drug abuse and substance use disorder treatment. Methods: A Delphi survey methodology was employed, involving 19 experts in the field of addiction. Their potential priorities were assessed based on the size of the problem, urgency, effectiveness, budget size, and feasibility of research execution. Results: After three rounds, the expert consensus was reached for 13 research plans of universal therapeutic agenda and 7 plans for specific drugs. These included developing guidelines for children and adolescents on substance use, a community-based long-term management program, and the development of intervention programs and clinical guidelines for stimulant, cannabis, and opioid use disorders. However, consensus was not reached for research on therapeutic options such as digital therapeutics. Conclusion: This study highlights priority areas for systematic and effective development of treatment programs and research agenda against illicit use of drugs. By integrating insights from multidisciplinary experts, a comprehensive research and development blueprint is proposed to address drug use, which is on the rise and threatening public health and social security in the Republic of Korea.

The purpose of this study was to develop the policy for cooperation between education and industry in order to promote diffusing and sharing of their knowledge and skills. This study was conducted by the review of literature, case study, field visit, survey, interview, and consultation with experts. The major ways of cooperation between education and industry examined in this study were the school-based enterprise(SBE), business incubation center(BIC), and research parks(RP), including the industrial park, science park, and technology park. The authors analyzed the SBE, BIC, RP cases in foreign and domestic countries in terms of their educational benefits, implications and problems. The educational benefits included in applying and extending knowledge acquired in the classroom, solving problems in the context of real life, working in teams, producing tangible economic rewards and positive social outcomes. In addition, there were some difficulties and dilemmas encountered by these cases. Based upon the findings, the authors proposed the feasible model, suggested the new directions, and developed some policy for each way of cooperation between education and industry to promote diffusing and sharing their knowledge and skills.

고령화 사회, 고령사회라고 하는 표현은 65세 이상의 노년인구가 전인구에서 차지하는 비율을 척도로 하는 것으로, 65세 이상의 노년인구가 전인구에서 차지하는 비율이 7% 이상인 경우를 ‘고령화 사회’(aging society), 이것이 14%를 넘어선 사회를 ‘고령 사회’(aged society)라고 정의하고 있다. 우리나라는 65세 이상 노인인구의 비율이 2000년에 전체 인구의 7%를 넘어서 유엔이 정하는 ‘고령화 사회’에 진입하였고, 2018년에는 14%에 달하는 ‘고령 사회’가 될 것이며 더 나아가 2026년에는 노인 인구가 20%를 넘어서는 ‘초고령 사회’가 될 것으로 예상된다. 세계에서 유래를 찾을 수 없을 만큼 고령화가 빠르게 진행되고 있다. 노령인구의 증가에 따른 고령화 문제는 사회ㆍ경제적인 문제로까지 파급되어 사회, 경제 전반에 걸쳐 지대한 영향을 미칠 것으로 예견되고 있다. 이에 따라 국가 차원에서 고령화 사회에 대비한 종합적 대책이 절실히 요구되고 있으며, 고령화 사회에 대비한 교육적 대책의 일환으로 노인교육에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 본 연구는 고령화가 우리나라보다 먼저 진행되고 있는 일본의 노인교육 연구동향을 고찰해 보는 데 그 목적이 있다. Aging society and aged society are determined by the component ratio of the elderly to the whole population; aging society is defined as a society whose ratio of the elderly population is less than 7%, and it is called aged society when the ratio is over 14%. Korea has been an aging society, determined by UN, since 2000, because the ratio is more than 7%, It is anticipated that Korea will be an aged society by 2018 and will be a post-aged society whose ratio is over 20% by 2026. This aging process is so fast and unprecedented over the world. Aging problem, caused by the increase of the elderly population, can make a huge effect on the whole society. Accordingly, the integrated nationwide plans are keenly needed to prepare for an aged society. As a consequence, the concerns about education for the aged are increasing and this phenomenon is a part of counterplan for an aged society. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to investigate the trend of the elderly education in Japan where the aging has been started earlier than in Korea.
