Purpose: During and after Covid-19 pandemic, technology has emerged as a key factor in supporting the recovery of the economy and the rise of living standards. This study examines seven factors affecting the intention of food delivery apps usage, which include Performance Expectancy, Effort Expectancy, Social Influence, Hedonic Motivation, Price Value, and Habit, and how much influence they have on the customers' behavioral continuance of food delivery apps after Covid-19 Pandemic. Research methodology: This research is a quantitative descriptive research with 473 qualified respondents from 550 respondents collected. Besides using the UTAUT2 model (Venkatesh et al., 2012), Information Quality was added to give a better explanation for the consumers’ intention towards continuance behavior using food delivery apps. The collected data is then processed using SPSS 22.0. Results: Habit factors and Information Quality factors have significant positive effects on promoting food delivery apps usage intention, which in turn influences continuance behavior. In addition, Habit factors and Information Quality factors together have an effect of 48.57% on Behavioral Intention. Conclusion: The result proves that positive habits and food information quality can increase the usage intention towards the behavioral continuance of consumers. Higher usage frequency can be improved by increasing these two factors.

The alternation of spatial exciton distribution in solution-processing organic light-emitting diodes (s-OLEDs) was exclusively studied by utilizing diffident types of host materials. The use of an n-type host material 2,2',2''-(1,3,5-Benzinetriyl)-tris(1-phenyl-1-H-benzimidazole) (TPBi) caused the electroluminescent spectral broadening accompanied with changing color coordinates upon applied voltage increase, which was being ascribed to the shift of the exciton density profile toward the hole transport layer. The extent of recombination zone shift was quantitatively examined in this study. Initially, under low luminance conditions, excitons were dispersed throughout the center of the EML. Sequentially, a large distance of 17 nm was expected for the recombination zone to shift to the interface with hole transport layer at a high voltage of 8 V. Alternatively, employing a p-type host material or a high mobility hole transport layer to prevent the overlap of recombination zone and mixing zone from happening is the way to effectively suppress this phenomenon.

Abstract

Large-Stokes-shift based simple folded DNA probing system (LSFP) had a simple folded DNA structure and exhibited a large Stokes-shifted (194 nm) fluorescence signal upon excitation at a single wavelength (386 nm). This Stokes shift was achieved through a simple combination of donor and acceptor fluorophores and employing multi-FRET systematically. This unique large Stokes-shifted fluorescence signal was used to detect target DNA with large increases in the fluorescence signal (9.7–14.2 fold). This LSFP exhibited enough selectivity, distinguishing a perfectly matched sequence from the probe itself and mismatched sequences. Surprisingly, when DSN was used for signal amplification with miR21P probing system whose target is miRNA 21, it showed high sensitivity (13.7 aM) and selectivity (one base mismatch discrimination). This system has several advantages over other molecular beacons (MBs): (i) it is easy to design and synthesize the probing system that does not require the construction of a finely designed stem and loop, as in most MBs (this can prevent the degradation of miR21P itself by DSN enzyme without special backbone modification); (ii) it can control unique fluorescence, such as large Stokes-shifted fluorescence through a simple combination of donor and acceptor fluorophores; and (iii) through signal amplification using DSN, it can efficiently detect extremely small amounts of target miRNA with high sensitivity (13.7 aM).

Highlights

A combination of donor and acceptor displaying large Stokes-shifted fluorescence.

Signal amplification using large Stokes-shifted folded DNA system with DSN enzyme.

LSFP system can detect extremely small amounts of target miRNA 21 (LOD = 13.7 aM).

Large Stokes-shifted folded DNA probing system has simple folded DNA structure.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]

Introduction: The antigenic diversity makes porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) as a challenge for the pig industry in all over the world. The emergence of PED virus (PEDV) causes significantly economic loss in pig farms annually. In this research, as an initial step, full-length of spike (S) gene of 8 PEDV-positive samples collected from the farms and 16 clones of 20th passage- PEDV2 strain were sequenced and analyzed to identify the genetic variation of PEDV in the field as well as in the cell adapted condition. Methods: 8 positive PEDV samples were collected from outbreaks in Vietnam during 2018. While PEDV2 strain after 20 serial passages in Vero cell was plaque purified, 16 clones were selected and propagated by transferring from the plaque assay plate into the new plates and then to the T25 tissue culture flasks. RNA of all viral samples were purified and used as the template of RT-PCR with S gene specific primers for sequencing. BioEdit and MEGA 6.0 program were used for sequence analysis. Results: 8 PEDV strains circulating in Vietnam during 2018 belong to three different clades as Asian non-S INDEL, new S INDEL and classical S INDEL. Otherwise 16 PEDV clones from 20th passage- PEDV2 strain were also divided into three groups with different deletion inside S gene sequence compared with original strain. Conclusion: PED virus strains have variable ability in various environmental conditions, in the field as well as in cell culture. From this result, in each outbreak, samples should be classified independently so that a proper vaccine solution can be developed. Further studies need to be done to clarify the relationship between genetic variants and pathogenicity of PED virus strains.

Cellular effects of ethanol in YD-15 tongue carcinoma cells were assessed by MTT assay, caspase activity assay, Western blotting and flow cytometry. Ethanol inhibited the growth and proliferation of YD-15 cells in a dose- and time-dependent manner in an MTT assay. The effects of ethanol on cell cycle control at low percent range of ethanol concentration (0 to 1.5%), the condition not inducing YD-15 cell death, was investigated after exposing cells to alcohol for a certain period of time. Western blotting on the expression of cell cycle inhibitors showed that p21 and p27 was up-regulated as ethanol concentration increases from 0 to 1.5% whilst the cell cycle regulators, cdk1, cdk2, and cdk4 as well as Cyclin A, Cyclin B1 and Cyclin E1, were gradually down-regulated. Flow cytometric analysis of cell cycle distribution revealed that YD-15 cells exposed to 1.5% ethanol for 24 h was mainly arrested at G2/M phase. However, ethanol induced apoptosis in YD-15 cells exposed to 2.5% or higher percent of ethanol. The cleaved PARP, a marker of caspase-3 mediated apoptosis, and the activation of caspase-3 and -7 were detected by caspase activity assay or Western blotting. Our results suggest that ethanol elicits inhibitory effect on the growth and proliferation of YD-15 tongue carcinoma cells by mediating cell cycle arrest at G2/M at low concentration range and ultimately induces apoptosis under the condition of high concentration.
