      • 순차적 크리깅기법을 이용한 미소혼합기의 최적화

        An active micro-mixer, which is composed of an oscillating micro-stirrer in the micro-channel to provide effective mixing was optimized. The effects of molecular diffusion and disturbance by the stirrer were considered with regard to two types of mixer models: the simple straight micro-channel and micro-channel with an oscillating stirrer. Two types of mixer models were studied by analyzing mixing behaviors such as their interaction after the stirrer. The mixing was calculated by Lattice Boltzmann methods using the D2Q9 model. In this study, the time-averaged mixing index formula was used to estimate the mixing performance of time-dependent flow. The mixing indices of the two models were compared. From the results, it was found that the mixer with an oscillating stirrer was much more enhanced' and stabilized. Therefore, an approximate optimization of an active micro-mixer with an oscillating stirrer was performed using Kriging method with OLHD (Optimal Latin Hypercube Design) in order to determine the optimal design variables. The design parameters were established as the frequency, the length and the angle of the stirrer. The optimal values were obtained as 1.5754, 0.803D and ±45°, respectively. It was found that the mixing index of the optimal design increased by 83.36% compared with that of the original design.

In this study, the time-averaged mixing index formula was used to estimate the mixing performance of time-dependent flow. The mixing indices of the two models were compared. From the results, it was found that the mixer with an oscillating stirrer was much more enhanced and stabilized. Therefore, an optimum design for a dynamic micro-mixer with an oscillating stirrer was performed using Kriging method in order to obtain a optimum solution. The design parameters were established as the frequency, the length and the angle of the stirrer, and the optimal values were determined to be 2.0932, 0.8D and ± 75°, respectively. It was found that the mixing index of the optimal design increased by 88.47% compared with that of the original design.

        Toxicological Relevance of Transporters

        Transporters are membrane proteins that mediate the transfer of substrate across the cellular membrane. In this overview, the characteristics and the toxicological relevance were discussed for various types of transporters. For drug transporters, the overview focused on ATP-binding cassette transporters and solute carrier family 21A/22A member transporters. Except for OCTN transporters and OATP transporters, drug transporters tend to have broad substrate specificity, suggesting drug-drug interaction at the level of transport processes (e.g., interaction between methotrexate and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents) is likely. For metal transporters, transporters for zinc, copper and multiple metals were discussed in this overview. These metal transporters have comparatively narrow substrate specificity, except for multiple metal transporters, suggesting that inter-substrate interaction at the level of transport is less likely. In contrast, the expressions of the transporters are often regulated by their substrates, suggesting cellular adaptation mechanism exists for these transporters. The drug-drug interactions in drug transporters and the cellular adaptation mechanisms for metal transporters are likely to lead to alterations in pharmacokinetics and cellular metal homeostasis, which may be linked to the development of toxicity. Therefore, the transporter-mediated alterations may have toxicological relevance.

      • LCA 에 있어 영향정량화 인자의 산정과 적용

        환경오염 정도에 따라 각국의 환경보호정책이 달라지기 때문에, LCA의 표준화에도 각국의 환경오염 정도를 고려해야한다. 본 논문은 이러한 생각을 바탕으로 국내 환경오염정도와 환경기준을 이용하여 영향 정량화 인자를 개발하였다. 환경부하의 카테고리별 가중치와 카테고리내 영향항목의 가중치를 이용하여 영향정량화 인자를 계산한 결과, 수질오염 등 지역적 환경오염의 정량화인자가 비교적 높은 값을 나타내었다. 구해진 정량화 인자를 이용하여 종이기저귀와 천기저귀 목록분석자료의 영향평가에 적용한 결과, 종이기저귀가 더 환경을 오염시키는 것으로 평가되었다. The purpose of LCA is to quantify resources, energy consumption and environmental loads for environmental improvement and to pursuit finally the sustainable development and balance of ecosystem. Because strategies for environmental protection are different from each country depending on the environmental situation, these must be considered in LCA standardization of each country. Theories of impact quantification criteria were examined and the degree of environmental impact was calculated on the basis of level of each impact category. Impact quantification criteria calculated on the basis of Korea environmental level were different from each criterium calculated by each method and environmental level of each country. High criteria could be obtained in the case of highly polluted region. Therefore, if impact quantification criteria is standardized uniformly regardless of environmental level of each country, it could be underestimated for improving properly the regional environment. Children diaper was analyzed as a case study for LCA and environmental loads were unified to make environment load index using impact quantification criteria on the basis of environmental level of Korea.

      • 열수축 프라스틱 필림의 개발에 관한 연구

        With the heat orientation apparatus equipped for a series of experimentation, screening the various plastic films produced in Korea, such as the films of polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene and polypropylene, were examined properties of heat shrinkable film. PVC was most shrinkable followed by P. P and optimum shrinkable temperatures were 70∼90℃ and 90∼110℃ respectivelly. It was duration of 30 seconds available to produce practically good shrinkable film package sheet with shrinking effiency from 40% to 70% of it. The phsycal and chemical propertes are favorable changed to utilize after thermal orientation of the films.

        Identification of 12 radiation-resistant bacterial species in the phylum Proteobacteria new to Korea

        In 2019, after a comprehensive investigation of indigenous prokaryotic species in Korea, a total of 12 bacterial strains assigned to the phylum Proteobacteria were isolated from soil. With the high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity (>98.8%) and formation of a robust phylogenetic clade with the closest species, it was determined that each strain belonged to independent, predefined bacterial species. This study identified two species in the family Burkholderiaceae, one species in the family Comamonadaceae, two species in the family Oxalobacteraceae, one species in the family Micrococcaceae, one species in the family Bradyrhizobiaceae, one species in the family Methylobacteriaceae, one species in the family Rhizobiaceae, one species in the family Rhodocyclaceae, and one species in the family Sphingomonadaceae. There is no official report about these 12 species in Korea, so are described as unreported bacterial species in Korea in this study. Gram reaction, basic biochemical characteristics, colony, and cell morphology are also described in the species description section.

        열해현상 방지를 위한 버스 엔진룸 구조개선

        Four types of different flow inlet models were tested to improve the flow uniformity at the inlet of the radiator and to prevent thermal damages of auxiliary units from the hot air in the bus engine room. Measurements and numerical calculations were performed and their results were in a good agreement with each other. Simultaneously temperature measurements were carried out under the conditions of actual bus driving. As designing the new flow inlet at the partition board which seperates the engine space and radiator space, flow circulation can be achieved and fresh air comes into the engine room from the bottom. It was proved that new inlet makes the one air temperature cooling down in the engine room, the other uniformity improvement.

      • 성장-변형률법에 의한 유동 시스템 형상의 최적 설계

        In general, shape optimization design of the flow system has done to obtain the effects, which are required in the engineering fields. Most of these designs are accomplished by empirical or numerical analysis. But, in empirical analysis case, it is difficult to obtain an optimal shape in the feasible design region. And, in numerical method case, it usually needs many design parameters, because of the required object-function. In this paper, we present a newly numerical analysis, the growth-strain method having only one design parameter. That optimizes a shape by distributing a design parameter such as dissipation energy to be uniformed in the flow system. Also, we apply this shape design process to the three-flow systems, and then we identify that the resulting shape approaches the known optimal shape in the numerical values. Consequently, we confirm that the proposed method is very efficient and practical in the shape optimization of the flow system.

        해상가두리 양식장에서 배합사료 및 생사료 공급에 따른 조피볼락 (Sebastes schlegeli)의 성장 및 육질 비교

        This study was conducted to compare extruded pellets (EP) and soft extruded pellets (SEP) with a raw fish-based moist pellet (MP) diet on the growth and flesh quality of Korean rockfish Sebastes schlegeli. Three groups of 20,000 fish (initial mean weight 133 g) per net-cage (6×12×7 m) were fed commercial EP, SEP or MP for 16 months. The survival of fish fed SEP was higher than those of fish fed EP or MP. The highest growth performances were observed in the mean weight gain, total weight gain, and feed efficiency of fish fed MP, followed by those fed EP and SEP. Among the fish fed on extruded pellets, the total weight gain of fish fed SEP was higher than that of those fed EP, while fish fed EP grew faster than those fed SEP. No notable differences in body composition, sensory scores or textural properties of the dorsal muscle were observed in fish fed on EP,SEP or MP. Thus, it is suggested that extruded pellets, rather than raw fish-based moist pellets, could be fed to Korean rockfish without compromise-ing flesh quality.
