The quality management of curricula has focused strictly on determining if and how schools have implemented national or local curricula as specified in curriculum documents. This approach reflects the perspective of quality control or inspection, which rarely provides information on how to improve practices and how to achieve academic excellence for all students. Therefore, in this study, the researchers conceptualized the meaning of quality curriculum and developed a model for total quality management of curricula. Results show that, first, quality curriculum means academic excellence for all students, and total quality management of curricula refers to a continuous effort for improvement. Second, a model was developed to show what total quality management looks like by revealing relationships among quality management elements and curriculum elements with the objective of realizing academic excellence for all. Third, the national curriculum was also evaluated as a part of total quality management. Lastly, the CIPP evaluation model appears to be aligned with this one, but it should be adjusted to reflect the cultural component. 우리나라에서 교육과정의 질 관리는 주로 국가 또는 지역 교육과정의 편성・운영 지침을 학교가 지키는가에 중점을 두는 방식으로 이루어져 왔다. 이는 질 관리의 초기개념인 검사(inspection) 혹은 질 통제에 가까우며 어떻게 개선하여야 모든 학생의 학습의 수월성을 성취할 것인가에 대한 정보를 거의 제공하지 않는다. 이에 이 연구에서는 교육 부문에서 질과 질 관리를 연구해 온 Sallis의 이론에 비추어 교육과정 질과 교육과정의 질 관리의 의미를 개념화하였다. 그리고 교육과정의 질 관리를 위해 필요한 요소들을 찾고 이들 간의 관계를 보여주는 교육과정의 질 관리 모형을 제안하였다. 구체적인 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육과정의 질은 모든 학생의 학습의 수월성을 의미하며, 질 관리란 교육과정의 질을 강조하고 지속적으로 교육과정을 개선하는 것이라는 결론을 내렸다. 둘째, 이러한 개념에 비추어 학생의 학습의 수월성 성취를 중심에 두고 관련된 교육과정 요소와 교육과정의 질 관리 요소의 관계를 보여주는 교육과정의 질 관리 모형을 제시하였다. 셋째, 국가 교육과정 또한 질 관리 모형에서 제시하는 요소들에 대한 지속적 개선이 필요한 질 관리 대상이라는 점을 밝혔다. 마지막으로, 교육과정의 질 관리를 위한 개선 정보를 지속적으로 확인할 수 있는 관리지향의 CIPP 평가모형의 활용을 제안하였다.

<P><B>A new indolocabazole derivative possessing an extended aromatic core and solubilizing long aliphatic chains</B> effectively self‐assembles and crystallizes within the nanoscale channels to form single‐crystal nanowires via a direct printing method from an ink solution. Single‐crystal organic nanowire transistor arrays based on the <I>π</I>‐extended indolocarbazole derivative exhibit an excellent hole mobility of 1.5 cm<SUP>2</SUP> V<SUP>−1</SUP> s<SUP>−1</SUP> and outstanding environmental stability.</P>

Objective : This study was designed to evaluate candidate materials as anti-inflammation agent from extracts of various Korean Compositae herbs in Hwaak mountain. Among Korea medicinal herbs, Ainsliaea acerifolia (AA) belongs to the Compositae family, has been used for the treatment of rheumatic arthritis. However, AA has not been previously reported to have an anti-inflammatory effect. Therefore, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of AA and its underlying molecular mechanisms in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages. Methods : Cell viability was determined by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay in RAW 264.7 macrophages. Nitric oxide (NO) was measured with Griess reagent and pro-inflammatory cytokines were detected by enzyme immunoassay (EIA) kits in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Protein expressions of inducible nitric oxide synthase, and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and p65 subunit of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) were determined by Western blot analysis. Results : Among 8 extracts of Korean Compositae herbs tested, AA showed the inhibition of NO production without cytotoxicity. Consistent with the observation, AA reduced the expression levels of iNOS and COX-2 proteins in LPSsimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages in dose-dependent manner. In addition, AA inhibited the productions of TNF-α and IL-6 in LPS-simulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. However, AA did not inhibit activation of p65 NF-κB in LPSsimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Conclusion : These results suggest that down-regulation of iNOS, COX-2 protein expression and TNF-α and IL-6 production by AA are responsible for its anti-inflammatory effects.

Domestic rice is more expensive than imported products, so it is necessary to reduce production costs to secure competitiveness. Low-density planting developed in Japan is a cultivation technology that reduces labor and production costs without yield loss. The area of low-density cultivation is continuously increasing. However, research on how rice transplanters adapt to low-density planting has not been conducted. Therefore, this study was carried out to determine the optimal working conditions of a rice transplanter for low-density planting. Three types of rice transplanters were used and treated based on 3 conveying distance levels. The number of picked seedlings, pick missing rate, the number of planted seedlings, and the mis-planted rate were investigated to evaluate planting accuracy according to the transfer distance to the seedling tray. The results showed that the number of planted seedlings was 4.31~4.95 EA with an L1 seedling tray transfer distance (horizontal 9 mm, vertical 8 mm), but the mis-planted rate was higher than in other conditions. At L2 (horizontal 9 mm, vertical 10 mm) and L3 (horizontal 11 mm, vertical 8 mm) transfer distance conditions, the number of planted seedlings were 4.89–5.68 EA and 4.69–5.66 EA, respectively, with a low mis-planted rate of less than 3%. The results showed that if the transfer distance is adjusted properly, a rice transplanter can be used for low-density planting with high planting accuracy.

A Retrospective study to analyze the failure pattern in locally advanced stomach cancer, treated with radical surgery and post-op chemotherapy was performed. Among 107 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy in Asan Medical Center between June 1989 and August 1990. there were 20 stageⅡ(T2NO, T2N1) and 87 stageⅢ (T3N1, T3N2) and 91 patients were eligible for study. 57 patients treated with 6 cycles of postop adjuvant chemotherapy. Among 57 patients treated with postop adjuvant chemotherapy, local failure occurred in 21% and distant failure in 12%. Among 34 patients who were not treated with postop chemotherapy, local failure occurred in 24% and distant failure in 26%. Among 29 failures including 13 locoregional, 9 distant metastasis and 7 locoregional and distant metastasis, 11 cases recurred in the anastomotic site, 3 in the gastric bed, 7 in the regional lymph nodes and peritoneal seeding occurred in 6 cases. The true incidences of gastric bed, nodal and peritoneal failures may be higher in the longer follow-up or reoperative or autopsy series. Our data sugest that postop chemocherapy is beneficial by reducing distant failure rate. Our data suggest that postop chemocherapy is beneficial by reducing distant failure rate. Postop adjuvant locoregional radiotherapy in addition to the systemic adjuvant therapy may reduce the local failure rate and potentially benefit in at least 20% of patients who developed the local failure only. 수수로가 항암요법만으로 치료한 국소 진행된 위암환자에서 치료실패의 양상을 분석해봄으로써 수술후 방사선치료의 가능성을 알아보기 위하여 1989년 6월부터 1990년 8월까지 치료받은 107명의 환자를 대상으로 후향적 분석을 시행하였다. 제2기 (T₃N₁, T₃N₂(환자는 87명이었다 16명은 수술후 추적이 어려워 91명에 대한 분석을 시행하였다. 모든 환자는 근치적 절제술을 시행받았고 이중 57명은 수술후 항암요법을 시행하고 24명은 계속적 추적 관찰만을 하였다. 국소재발율은 항암요법 시행군에서 321%, 추적관찰군에서 24%로 차이가 없었고 원격전이는 항암요법 시행군에서는 12% 추적관찰군에서는 26%로 항앙요법 시행군에서 원격 전이가 적어지는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 국소 재발환자의 52%는 anastomosis site에서 재발하였고 원격 전이시 가장 많이 침범되는 장기는 간이었다. 아직 추적 관찰 기간이 짧으나 수술후 방사선 치료가 최소한 20%이상의 환자에서 도움이 될것으로 생각된다.

Potatoes are one of the worlds four major crops, and domestic consumption is currently increasing in Korea. However, the mechanization rate of potatoes is very low, and especially, harvesting is the most labor-intensive task in potato production. In Korea, potato-collecting work depends on manpower, so it is necessary to develop a gathering-type harvester that can be used for processes from digging to harvesting. Therefore, in this study, a self-propelled-type potato harvester was developed, and its performance was analyzed to mechanize harvesting. The potato harvester was developed to have a crawler-type driving part with a 60 hp diesel engine and consisted of a digging part that digs potatoes from the ground, a vertical transporting part that transfers the dug potatoes to the height of the collection bag, a separating part that separates debris, such as stones and soil, and a collecting part that loads the collection box. A field test of the potato harvester was conducted, and performance was evaluated by the damage, loss, and debris mixing proportions, which were 2.5%, 2.8%, and 2.6%, respectively. The working capacity was 1.2 h/10 a. The economic analysis results showed that the cost of harvesting work could be reduced by 12.7% compared to manual harvesting.
