Graphene Enhanced Electrical Properties of Polyethylene Blends for High-Voltage Insulation

        Zuojun Wei,Yaxin Hou,Chen Jiang,Haiyan Liu,Xiangrong Chen,Anyun Zhang,Yingxin Liu 대한금속·재료학회 2019 ELECTRONIC MATERIALS LETTERS Vol.15 No.5

Graphene as a novel additive in low density polyethylene (LDPE), high density polyethylene–low density polyethylene blend(10%HDPE–LDPE) and polypropylene–low density polyethylene blend (10%PP–LDPE), is investigated for promising ecofriendlyinsulating materials in high voltage cables. The composites with graphene amounts of 0, 0.002 wt%, 0.02 wt%,and 0.2 wt% are prepared by the solution mixing method. With attempt to disclose the structure–property relationships, thecomposites are extensively characterized by physical techniques including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-raydiffraction, atomic force microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, thermogravimetricanalysis and differential scanning calorimetry, and electrical measurements including electrical treeing, direct current conductivityand space charge distributions. Results show that graphene can significantly enhances the thermal stability of LDPEand 10%PP–LDPE, slightly decrease the degree of crystallinity, change the size of the crystal diameters, and improve thephase distribution of the polymer blends. Consequently, graphene can prolong the electrical tree initiation time and blockthe extension of electrical tree. Besides, it can modulate the trap distributions, which will further change the conductivityand ability to suppress space charge accumulations. This excellent performance of graphene could be attributed to its goodexfoliation, uniform dispersion and outstretched morphology in the polymer matrix, as well as its strong ability to captureelectrons.

Reactivity of Brönsted acid ionic liquids as dual solvent and catalyst for Fischer esterifications

        Zuojun Wei,Feijin Li,Huabin Xing,Qilong Ren,Shuguang Deng 한국화학공학회 2009 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.26 No.3

Several water-stable ionic liquids with different acidity and affinity were synthesized and applied as both solvents and acid catalysts for Fischer esterification of ethanol reacting with four aliphatic carboxylic acids (acetic acid, n-hexanoic acid, lauric acid, and stearic acid). Among the studied ionic liquids, [(n-bu-SO3H) MIM][HSO4] (3-butyl- 1-(butyl-4-sulfonyl) imidazolium sulfate) and [(n-bu-SO3H) MIM][p-TSO] (3-butyl-1-(butyl-4-sulfonyl) imidazolium toluenesulfonate) show higher reactivity for the production of ethyl esters. The catalytic activities of these ionic liquids are strongly dependent on the acidity of their anions and cations, as well as their hydrophilicity and affinity with the reactants. Water refluxing through the condenser may be another important reason for obtaining high conversion of esterification, indicating a water-sequester process is still needed in order to obtain a higher yield of ester in the ionic liquid catalyzed esterification system. Kinetics studies show the conversions of the acids increase with reaction temperature and time, and reach equilibrium within about two hours. The apparent activation energies are 39.1±2.0, 49.7± 2.5, 51.4±2.5 and 59.3±3.0 kJ·mol−1 for the formation of ethyl acetate, ethyl n-hexanoate, ethyl laurate and ethyl stearate, respectively.

Design of low-loaded NiRe bimetallic catalyst on N-doped mesoporous carbon for highly selective deoxygenation of oleic acid to n-heptadecane

        Zuojun Wei,Yuran Cheng,Mengting Chen,Yuhua Ye,Yingxin Liu 한국화학공학회 2022 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.39 No.7

Using nitrogen-doped mesoporous carbon (NMC) as the support, several NiRe bimetallic catalysts withlow metal loading of 1 wt% were designed and prepared for the selective deoxygenation of oleic acid to n-heptadecanein the absence of hydrogen. Results showed that the Ni80Re20/NMC catalyst with a Ni/Re molar ratio of 80 : 20 achievedthe highest yield of n-heptadecane (92.3%) at 330 oC for 2 h in isopropanol solvent, and at a metal/oleic acid weightratio of 1 : 333. The catalyst can be reused at least five times with slight activity loss. Combined with the results of insituXRD, HRTEM, XPS and CO2-TPD, the formation of NiRe alloy, the very fine NiRe nanoparticle size at 2.30 nm, aswell as the hydrophobic, mesoporous and weakly basic properties of the NMC support surface were demonstrated tocontribute to the excellent catalytic performance of the catalyst.

      • TRPM5-dependent amiloride- and benzamil-insensitive NaCl chorda tympani taste nerve response

        Ren, ZuoJun,Rhyu, Mee-Ra,Phan, Tam-Hao T.,Mummalaneni, Shobha,Murthy, Karnam S.,Grider, John R.,DeSimone, John A.,Lyall, Vijay American Physiological Society 2013 American journal of physiology, Gastrointestinal a Vol.305 No.1

<P>Transient receptor potential (TRP) subfamily M member 5 (TRPM5) cation channel is involved in sensing sweet, bitter, umami, and fat taste stimuli, complex-tasting divalent salts, and temperature-induced changes in sweet taste. To investigate if the amiloride- and benzamil (Bz)-insensitive NaCl chorda tympani (CT) taste nerve response is also regulated in part by TRPM5, CT responses to 100 mM NaCl + 5 μM Bz (NaCl + Bz) were monitored in Sprague-Dawley rats, wild-type (WT) mice, and TRP vanilloid subfamily member 1 (TRPV1) and TRPM5 knockout (KO) mice in the presence of resiniferatoxin (RTX), a TRPV1 agonist. In rats, NaCl + Bz + RTX CT responses were also monitored in the presence of triphenylphosphine oxide, a specific TRPM5 blocker, and capsazepine and <I>N</I>-(3-methoxyphenyl)-4-chlorocinnamid (SB-366791), specific TRPV1 blockers. In rats and WT mice, RTX produced biphasic effects on the NaCl + Bz CT response, enhancing the response at 0.5–1 μM and inhibiting it at >1 μM. The NaCl + Bz + SB-366791 CT response in rats and WT mice and the NaCl + Bz CT response in TRPV1 KO mice were inhibited to baseline level and were RTX-insensitive. In rats, blocking TRPV1 by capsazepine or TRPM5 by triphenylphosphine oxide inhibited the tonic NaCl + Bz CT response and shifted the relationship between RTX concentration and the magnitude of the tonic CT response to higher RTX concentrations. TRPM5 KO mice elicited no constitutive NaCl + Bz tonic CT response. The relationship between RTX concentration and the magnitude of the tonic NaCl + Bz CT response was significantly attenuated and shifted to higher RTX concentrations. The results suggest that pharmacological or genetic alteration of TRPM5 activity modulates the Bz-insensitive NaCl CT response and its modulation by TRPV1 agonists.</P>

      • A Time-Varying Control Method Based on Taylor Series Approximation

Shuang Zhang,Zuojun Shen 제어로봇시스템학회 2015 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2015 No.10

In this paper, a time-varying control method based on Taylor series approximation is proposed. By approximation, a time-varying system can be explicated as a polynomial function of the independent variable, and a time-varying control law can be derived. For a time-varying system, this control law guarantees the actual control result as similar as the promising one of a linear time-invariant control method, such as the proportional feedback scheduling or the gain scheduling. A benchmark control problem of stabilizing an inverted pendulum with an oscillating center of mass is used to illustrate the effectiveness of the new method. Stability analysis is also conducted using the state-of-art singular perturbation margin (SPM) approach.

Performance of Au/FeOx–TiO2 catalyst for liquid phase selective hydrogenation of phthalic anhydride to phthalide

Yingxin Liu,Zuojun Wei,Tiefeng Xing,Meng Lu,Xiaonian Li 한국공업화학회 2015 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.23 No.-

Gold catalysts supported on FeOx–TiO2 with various Fe2O3 contents were prepared by deposition– precipitation method and used for phthalic anhydride hydrogenation to phthalide. The effect of Fe2O3 on the physico-chemical property and the performance of Au/TiO2 were investigated. The reaction conditions were optimized. Adding 5 wt.% Fe2O3 on Au/TiO2 could enhance the activity and stability, which was contributed to the increase in the strength of the catalyst structure and the decrease in the loss of gold from catalyst. Using Au/5%FeOx–TiO2, phthalic anhydride conversion and phthalide selectivity reached 95.4% and 94.5%, respectively, at 190 8C and 3.0 MPa H2 for 7 h.

CircBLNK regulates tumor proliferation and apoptosis by miR-578/ING5 axis in non-small cell lung cancer

        Li Ping,Zou Liuyi,Luo Zuojun,Lu Yuhua,Yu Shuang,Zhu Yujun,Xie Yong 대한독성 유전단백체 학회 2023 Molecular & cellular toxicology Vol.19 No.3

Background Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of most threatening malignancies with a high morbidity and mortality that threaten human health and life. Objective This study aimed to investigate the role of circBLNK in NSCLC and reveal the regulation mechanism of circBLNK in NSCLC. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction ( qRT-PCR) was performed to determine the levels of circBLNK, miR-578 and inhibitor of growth 5 (ING5) mRNA. Cell proliferation activity was assessed by 3-(4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)- 2,5-diphenyl-2-H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT), 5-ethynyl-2’-deoxyuridine (EdU) staining and colony formation assays. Flow cytometry was carried out to examine cell cycle and cell apoptosis. The dual-luciferase reporter assay was used to validate the interaction between miR-578 and circBLNK or ING5. Xenograft tumor experiment was performed to uncover the function of circBLNK in vivo. Results CircBLNK was notably down-regulated in NSCLC tissues and cells. Overexpression of circBLNK suppressed the proliferation and accelerated the apoptosis of NSCLC cells in vitro . CircBLNK targeted miR-578, and circBLNK exerted its biological function in NSCLC cells through sponging miR-578. ING5 was verifi ed as a target of miR-578, and circBLNK increased the abundance of ING5 through targeting miR-578 in NSCLC cells. ING5 interference could partly reverse the biological eff ects of NSCLC cells mediated by circBLNK overexpression. CircBLNK overexpression repressed NSCLC tumor growth in vivo. Conclusion CircBLNK functioned as a tumor suppressor in NSCLC to suppress the proliferation and cell cycle and promote cell apoptosis of NSCLC cells through miR-578/ING5 axis.
