        Impossible Differential Cryptanalysis on ESF Algorithm with Simplified MILP Model

        MILP-based automatic search is the most common method in analyzing the security of cryptographic algorithms. However, this method brings many issues such as low efficiency due to the large size of the model, and the difficulty in finding the contradiction of the impossible differential distinguisher. To analyze the security of ESF algorithm, this paper introduces a simplified MILP-based search model of the differential distinguisher by reducing constrains of XOR and S-box operations, and variables by combining cyclic shift with its adjacent operations. Also, a new method to find contradictions of the impossible differential distinguisher is proposed by introducing temporary variables, which can avoid wrong and miss selection of contradictions. Based on a 9-round impossible differential distinguisher, 15-round attack of ESF can be achieved by extending forward and backward 3-round in single-key setting. Compared with existing results, the exact lower bound of differential active S-boxes in single-key setting for 10-round ESF are improved. Also, 2108 9-round impossible differential distinguishers in single-key setting and 14 12-round impossible differential distinguishers in related-key setting are obtained. Especially, the round of the discovered impossible differential distinguisher in related-key setting is the highest, and compared with the previous results, this attack achieves the highest round number in single-key setting.

        Spatio-temporal Semantic Features for Human Action Recognition

        Most approaches to human action recognition is limited due to the use of simple action datasets under controlled environments or focus on excessively localized features without sufficiently exploring the spatio-temporal information. This paper proposed a framework for recognizing realistic human actions. Specifically, a new action representation is proposed based on computing a rich set of descriptors from keypoint trajectories. To obtain efficient and compact representations for actions, we develop a feature fusion method to combine spatial-temporal local motion descriptors by the movement of the camera which is detected by the distribution of spatio-temporal interest points in the clips. A new topic model called Markov Semantic Model is proposed for semantic feature selection which relies on the different kinds of dependencies between words produced by “syntactic” and “semantic” constraints. The informative features are selected collaboratively based on the different types of dependencies between words produced by short range and long range constraints. Building on the nonlinear SVMs, we validate this proposed hierarchical framework on several realistic action datasets.

        Performance of Au/FeOx–TiO2 catalyst for liquid phase selective hydrogenation of phthalic anhydride to phthalide

        Gold catalysts supported on FeOx–TiO2 with various Fe2O3 contents were prepared by deposition– precipitation method and used for phthalic anhydride hydrogenation to phthalide. The effect of Fe2O3 on the physico-chemical property and the performance of Au/TiO2 were investigated. The reaction conditions were optimized. Adding 5 wt.% Fe2O3 on Au/TiO2 could enhance the activity and stability, which was contributed to the increase in the strength of the catalyst structure and the decrease in the loss of gold from catalyst. Using Au/5%FeOx–TiO2, phthalic anhydride conversion and phthalide selectivity reached 95.4% and 94.5%, respectively, at 190 8C and 3.0 MPa H2 for 7 h.

        Synergy of ionic liquid and confinement in the design of supported palladium catalyst for efficient selective hydrogenation of acetylene

        We present here a novel fabrication of highly effective supported Pd catalysts (Pd@S-1@IL) derived fromPd@S-1 core–shell material coated with ionic liquids (ILs), [Prmim][Cl], for the selective hydrogenation ofacetylene. Catalytic testing on Pd@S-1@IL catalyst illustrated a remarkable selectivity towards semihydrogenation(over 90% for ethylene, irrespective of conversion level). Moreover, no indications ofdeactivation were observed after 800 h on stream even under relatively severe conditions. Detailedcharacterization indicated that the selectivity enhancement was ascribed to thefilter effect along withelectronic effect on the adsorption/desorption processes arising from the ionic liquids layer. The stability,which has ranked the top reported values over advanced Pd-based catalysts, is attributed to theconfinement effect of Pd NPs within the supports thus restricting the migration of metals. The fabricationof core–shell architecture combined with the advantages of ionic liquid layer offers a promising guidelinefor efficient catalytic transfer of chemical resource.
