In attempt to lead compounds exhibiting both insecticidal and fungicidal activities, a series of O-benzyl oximeether derivatives were designed and synthesized by introducing β-methoxyacrylate pharmacophore into a scaffold. The insecticidal activity against Aphis fabae and the fungicidal activity against Erysiphe graminis were screened. The title compounds exhibited remarkable insecticidal and fungicidal activities. The most potent compound 6d was identified. Its insecticidal LC50 against A. fabae is 6.4 mg/L, which is lower than that of chlorfenapyr (19.4 mg/L) and even close to the level of imidacloprid (4.8 mg/L). Its fungicidal EC90 in preventive and curative treatment against E. graminis are 2.2 and 4.8 mg/L, respectively, which are lower than azoxystrobin (7.0 and 5.9 mg/L). These results indicate that compound 6d can be considered as a lead for further developing new O-benzyl oxime-ether typed candidates with both fungicidal and insecticidal activities.

Singularities and strictly wandering domains of transcendental semigroups

In this paper, the dynamics on a transcendental entire semi- group G is investigated. We show the possible values of any limit function of G in strictly wandering domains and Fatou components, respectively. Moreover, if G is of class B, for any z in a Fatou domain, there does not exist a sequence {gk} of G such that gk(z)→ ∞ as k → ∞.

Purpose: The abnormal expression of tight junction (TJ) plays a vital role in the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). However, there is no appropriate tool to distinguish and diagnose epithelial barrier defects in clinical practice. This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of claudin-3 for epithelial barrier dysfunction in CRSwNP. Methods: In this study, TJ protein levels were evaluated by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction, immunofluorescent, and immunohistochemistry staining in control subjects and CRSwNP patients. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was created to assess the predictive value of TJ breakdown in clinical outcomes. In vitro, human nasal epithelial cells were cultured at the air-liquid interface to analyze the transepithelial electrical resistance (TER) level. Results: The expression levels of occludin, tricellulin, claudin-3, and claudin-10 were decreased (all P < 0.05), and those of claudin-1 was increased (P < 0.05) in CRSwNP patients as compared to healthy subjects. Additionally, claudin-3 and occludin levels were negatively correlated with the computed tomography score in CRSwNP (all P < 0.05), and the ROC curve indicated that the claudin-3 level had the most predictive accuracy in evaluating epithelial barrier disruption (area under the curve = 0.791, P < 0.001). Finally, the time-series analysis showed the highest correlation coefficient between TER and claudin-3 (cross-correlation function = 0.75). Conclusion: In this study, we suggest that claudin-3 could be a valuable biomarker for predicting nasal epithelial barrier defects and disease severity in CRSwNP.
Stochastic Resonance in the Logistic Growth Model with Time-modulated Correlated Noise

Stochastic resonance in Logistic model driven by time-modulated correlated multiplicative and additive noise is investigated. For small amount of the two noises, small amplitude of the additive modulated signal and small intensity of the time-modulated correlated noise, under the adiabatic approximation condition, the analysis expressions of the signal-to-noise ratios for different frequency and equal frequency of the two modulation forces have been obtained. Theoretical and numerical study shows that, the signal-to-noise ratios vary non-monotonously with the increase of the intensities of the multiplicative and additive noise. The curves of the signal-to-noise ratio versus additive noise strength present two peaks, while there is only one maximum value on each of the curve of the signal-to-noise ratio as a function of the multiplicative noise intensity. In addition, for equal frequency of the two modulation forces, the signal-to-noise ratio behaves non-monotonously with the increases of the amplitude of the time-modulation force.

A new method was presented for preparing (co-)polyethylene with broad molecular weight distribution (MWD) and high molecular weight employed by the novel heterogeneous Ziegler–Natta catalysts via one-pot strategy. The preparation of these catalysts involved the introduction of alkoxy silane compounds as electron donors. The influences of the electron donors structure, as well as polymerization conditions such as temperature, molar ratio of Al/Ti, ethylene pressure and the concentration of 1-hexene in feed on the polymerization performance for ethylene (co-)polymerization, were investigated. The morphology of the catalyst particles was characterized by SEM and Ti content of these catalysts was characterized by ICP. The GPC results showed that the obtained homopolyethylene and ethylene/1-hexene copolymer had the widest molecular weight distribution up to ca 50 when diethoxy-isopropoxy-(t–butoxy)-silane (ED3) was used as internal electron donor. The 13C NMR and FT-IR analysis indicated that these catalysts efficiently catalyzed the copolymerization of ethylene with 1-hexene.

<P>A new crown ether of 2,13-dibenzothiazol-2′-yldibenzo[b,k]-18-crown-6 was synthesized from 2,13-diformyl- dibenzo[b,k]-18-crown-6 with 2-aminothiophenol. The binding behavior and the optical properties of the crown ether were examined through UV-visible spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy. When complexed with Na<SUP>+</SUP>, K<SUP>+</SUP>, Rb<SUP>+</SUP> and Cs<SUP>+</SUP> ions, it led to intramolecular charge transfer and caused the changes of the fluorescence spectra. The protonation of the crown ether was also studied.</P>

Guided by bioisosterism and pharmacokinetic parameters, we designed and synthesized a series of novel benzamide derivatives. Preliminary in vitro studies indicated that compounds 10b and 10j show significant inhibitory bioactivity in HepG2 cells (IC50 values of 0.12 and 0.13 μM, respectively). Compounds 10b and 10j induced the expression of HIF-1α protein and downstream target gene p21, and upregulated the expression of cleaved caspase-3 to promote tumor cells apoptosis.
