Background: Compound glycyrrhizin injection (CGI) is a preparation with glycyrrhizin as the main active ingredient extracted from licorice. As clinical trials suggest that CGI is effective in improving liver function for acute icteric hepatitis in children (AIHC), this systematic review aimed to evaluate and verify its therapeutic effects and safety. Methods: Six electronic databases were searched from their inception to 15 May 2021. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing therapeutic effects and safety of CGI for AIHC were included. The risk of bias for each trial was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool 2.0. Primary outcomes were indexes related to liver function, including total bilirubin (TBiL), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate transaminase (AST). RevMan 5.4 software was used for data analyses. The certainty of the evidence was assessed using the online GRADEpro tool. Results: Six RCTs involving 608 children were included. The overall bias was assessed as having “high risk of bias” in all trials. All trials compared the combination of CGI and conventional western medicine (CWM) with CWM alone. Regarding the effects of CGI for AIHC, results showed that CGI plus CWM was superior to CWM alone in reducing the levels of TBiL (mean difference (MD) = -8.19 mmol/L, 95% CI -9.86 to -6.53), ALT (MD = -24.09 U/L, 95% CI -30.83 to -17.34) and AST (MD = -18.67 U/L, 95% CI -21.88 to -15.45). No trial reported adverse events. The certainty of the evidence for outcomes were all evaluated as low or very low. Conclusion: CGI may have adjuvant therapeutic effects on improving the liver function of children with AIHC. There is no evidence to determine the safety of CGI for AIHC. As current evidence is weak, further well-designed RCTs are required for verification of the therapeutic effects of CGI. Do Business Relationships Affect the Accuracy of Analyst Earnings Forecasts? Evidence from China
Liang Han,Shengnian Wang,Chunyan Wei 한국증권학회 2017 Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies Vol.46 No.1
Supporting the “conflicts of interest hypothesis,” we show that, in China, better-informed analysts issue more optimistically biased forecasts and the reputation of financial analysts mitigates the bias. We contribute to the literature by showing that such an adverse information effect varies over types of investment banking relationships and a better developed local legal environment reduces forecast bias. Our results call for a better developed market mechanism to discipline analysts so as to issue independent and accurate earnings forecasts in China.
CONVERGENCE OF WEIGHTED SUMS FOR DEPENDENT RANDOM VARIABLES
Liang, Han-Yang,Zhang, Dong-Xia,Baek, Jong-Il Korean Mathematical Society 2004 대한수학회지 Vol.41 No.5
We discuss in this paper the strong convergence for weighted sums of negative associated (in abbreviation: NA) arrays. Meanwhile, the central limit theorem for weighted sums of NA variables and linear process based on NA variables is also considered. As corollary, we get the results on iid of Li et al. ([10]) in NA setting.
Property and ANN Simulating Model of Power Losses of ZnO Varistors
Han, Se-Won,He, Jin-Liang,Cho, Han-Goo The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers 1997 Journal of Electrical Engineering and Information Vol.2 No.6
ZnO varistors are widely used as surge arresters in power system based on their excellent nonlinearity. The property of power loss of ZnO varistors is related to the thermal stability and their life-spans of ZnO surge arresters. The power losses of ZnO varistors under different temperatures and applied voltages were measured, and the properties of power losses were analyzed. The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was used to simulate the power losses properties of ZnO varistors which is an adaptive nonlinear dynamic system, and the results calculated by ANN simulating model were in good agreement with the tested ones.
Experimental study on reinforced high-strength concrete short columns confined with AFRP sheets
Han-Liang Wu,Yuan-Feng Wang 국제구조공학회 2010 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.10 No.6
This paper is aiming to study the performances of reinforced high-strength concrete (HSC) short columns confined with aramid fibre-reinforced polymer (AFRP) sheets. An experimental program, which involved 45 confined columns and nine unconfined columns, was carried out in this study. All the columns were circular in cross section and tested under axial compressive load. The considered parameters included the concrete strength, amount of AFRP layers, and ratio of hoop reinforcements. Based on the experimental results, a prediction model for the axial stress-strain curves of the confined columns was proposed. It was observed from the experiment that there was a great increment in the compressive strength of the columns when the amount of AFRP layers increases, similar as the ultimate strain. However, these increments were reduced as the concrete strength increasing. Comparisons with other existing prediction models present that the proposed model can provide more accurate predictions
A BERRY-ESSEEN TYPE BOUND OF REGRESSION ESTIMATOR BASED ON LINEAR PROCESS ERRORS
Liang, Han-Ying,Li, Yu-Yu Korean Mathematical Society 2008 대한수학회지 Vol.45 No.6
Consider the nonparametric regression model $Y_{ni}\;=\;g(x_{ni})+{\epsilon}_{ni}$ ($1\;{\leq}\;i\;{\leq}\;n$), where g($\cdot$) is an unknown regression function, $x_{ni}$ are known fixed design points, and the correlated errors {${\epsilon}_{ni}$, $1\;{\leq}\;i\;{\leq}\;n$} have the same distribution as {$V_i$, $1\;{\leq}\;i\;{\leq}\;n$}, here $V_t\;=\;{\sum}^{\infty}_{j=-{\infty}}\;{\psi}_je_{t-j}$ with ${\sum}^{\infty}_{j=-{\infty}}\;|{\psi}_j|$ < $\infty$ and {$e_t$} are negatively associated random variables. Under appropriate conditions, we derive a Berry-Esseen type bound for the estimator of g($\cdot$). As corollary, by choice of the weights, the Berry-Esseen type bound can attain O($n^{-1/4}({\log}\;n)^{3/4}$).
