Research on Encryption Key Extraction From Iris Feature

The current encryption algorithm has some problems that key length is long, which is difficult to be memorized and kept so that a potential threat is caused to information security. The encryption key extracted from the biological feature is used for the encryption method, which has become a hotspot of the research. The Haar wavelet decomposition is carried out to the iris image, to extract the third-layer high frequency coefficient as the iris feature code. The random mapping function is used to generate a 128 - bit key. chi-square (χ2) test is used to analyze the key safety extracted. The results show that the key extracted from iris feature can meet requirements of the randomness and security of the encryption algorithm.
Association of Four ERCC1 and ERCC2 SNPs with Survival of Bone Tumour Patients

Aim: SNPs of ERCC1 and ERCC2 genes have been found to be associated with response to platinum therapy in different clinical settings. In the current study, we investigated the relationship of SNPs in ERCC1 and ERCC2 to cisplain response and survival in osteosarcoma patients. Methods: 267 consecutive patients diagnosed with osteosarcoma between January 2003 to January 2005 were followed up until the end of January 2010. ERCC1 Asn118Asn, ERCC1 Gln504Lys, ERCC2 Asp312Asn and ERCC2 Lys751Gln polymorphisms were detected based upon the Sequenom MassARRAY platform.Results: For ERCC1 Asn118Asn, the variant genotype T/T was strongly significantly associated with a higher event free survival when compared with the wild-type C/C, with an adjusted OR (95% CI) of 0.39 (0.14-0.95). ERCC2 751 A/A genotype showed increased event free survival of osteosarcoma (HR=0.44; 95%CI=0.10-0.87). However, we did not find significant association of ERCC1 Gln504Lys and ERCC2 Asp312Asn polymorphisms with prognosis of osteosarcoma. Conclusions: We first report associations of four SNPs, ERCC1 Asn118Asn, ERCC1 Gln504Lys, ERCC2 Asp312Asn and ERCC2 Lys751Gln, with risk of death from osteosarcoma in a Chinese population, indicating ERCC1 118T/T and ERCC2 A/A may be used as surrogate markers for clinical outcome of osteosarcoma treatmetn with cisplain.

Four metal-organic coordination polymers, {[Cd2(BIBP)2(H2DTDA)2]n · 2(H2O)} (1), [Zn (BIBP) (H2TDA)2] n (2), [Cd2(BIBP)(H2TDA)2] n (3), and [Ni2(BIBP)2(H2DTDA)2(μ-O)] n , (4) [where BIBP = 4,4′-bis(1-imidazoly)biphenyl, H2TDA = [1,1′:4′1″-terphen-yl]-3,3″-dicarboxylic acid, and H2DTDA = 2′,5′-dimethyl-[1,1′:4′,1″-terphenyl]-3,3″-dicarboxylic acid] were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, TG, luminescence, and single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-Ray diffraction analysis reveals that the four complexes exhibit new frameworks due to diverse coordination conformations. The different coordination modes of the ligands BIBP and two aromatic carboxylate acids play important roles in the construction of the final structure for the complexes. X-ray structure analysis reveals that 1, 2, and 4 are 3D coordination polymers, while complex 3 is a 2D network polymer.

Highly efficient and ultrastable nonprecious metal-based electrocatalysts are promising alternatives toplatinum (Pt)-based catalysts in electrocatalyzing oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) process. In thepresent work, nitrogen and sulfur dual-doped hierarchically porous carbon with trapped Mn species(MnNSC-950) was fabricated, which integrates the modulation of the electronic structure for boostedintrinsic activity with the engineering of hierarchical porosity for enriched active sites. The MnNSC-950shows a positive onset potential of 0.95 V and a large limiting current density of 5.4 mA cm 2, which canrival that of the commercial Pt/C catalyst in 0.1 M KOH, together with a robust long-term stability. Moreover, the MnNSC-950 as ORR catalyst in Zn-air battery achieves a high power density of107 mW cm 2 and robust cycling performance over 150 h, exceeding that driven by Pt/C cathode. Theexcellent electrochemical performance is also shown in both neutral and acidic media. This workprovides an enabling route to prepare non-noble metal-based catalysts featuring well-engineeredgeometric and component peculiarities for practical application of energy conversion systems.

It is one of critical factors for a massage robot to find and position the acupuncture point precisely inorder to cure the diseases. Based on large amount of sample data offline, Chinese medical empirical knowledgeis also introduced to build the prediction model. The massagist prescription and the robot mechanism devise areboth considered for robot positioning. Least squares method is of simplicity, easy to use and high efficiency. Its real-time calculation is very effective, too. A modeling method for robot positioning is proposed based onleast squares. Knowledge consultation is set for the calculation of acupoint position. The robot needs to get thefeature points of a foot to be massaged. The foot contour sampling data are divided into piecewise curve fitting. Qlearningis adopted to optimize the robot positioning for they are model free. CMAC (Cerebellar Model ArticulationController) cerebellum model is incorporated into the function approximation of Q learning. The learning systemis rewarded by referring to the strengths of instrumental signal. By the direct representation, the model of humanpelma acupoint is expressed with the vector variables and formal computer language. Through prediction model’scalculation, the robot will work out the rough position of acupuncture point. Meanwhile, Q learning does the onlineadjustment for accurate location. These strategies provide for the robot to automatically search and position thepelma acupoint with little real-time computation and storage. The idea of this paper also prompts a research cue forthe development of Chinese medical standardization.

While the relationship between market orientation and new product performance has been extensively investigated, the mechanism by which market orientation contributes to new product performance was further studied in a business-to-business context. We developed a set of alternative research models to examine the roles of timing of entry and positional advantage in the market orientation—new product performance relationship. The results showed that industrial firms’ positional advantage is a key step in the process. Market orientation does not directly influence new product performance. Instead, market orientation helps to establish a firms’ positional advantage, which, in turn, positively influences new product performance in the marketplace. Timing of entry, shown to be an outcome of positional advantage, is not a determinant of new product performance in the business-to-business context. The findings revealed that market-oriented firms achieve superior new product performance through thoughtfulness indicated by a well-defined positioning strategy, not rapidity of action.
