Growth of InGaN Films on c-plane Sapphire Substrates with an AlN Nucleation Layer by Using Metal-organic Chemical-Vapor Deposition

        Dang-Hui Wang,Sheng-Rui Xu,Jin-Cheng Zhang,Ke Chen,Zhi-Wei Bi,Lin-Xia Zhang,Fan-Na Meng,Shan Ai,Yue Hao 한국물리학회 2012 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.61 No.4

In this study, we report on the crystal quality of InGaN epifilms with different indium fractions grown at different growth temperatures on c-plane sapphire substrates with an AlN nucleation layer by using low-pressure metal-organic chemical-vapor deposition (MOCVD). High-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD), atom force microscopy (AFM), photoluminescence (PL) and Raman scattering measurements were employed to study the crystal quality, optical properties and strain condition of InGaN epifilms with increasing indium fraction (from 4.36% to 15.36%). Results show that InGaN epitaxial layers can be realized with a higher indium fraction at a lower temperature by inserting an AlN nucleation layer between the sapphire substrate and the GaN buffer layer and that the obtained InGaN epifilms have an improved crystal quality and a lower threading dislocation density.

Molecular cloning of novel α-gliadin genes from Crithopsis delileana and the evolution analysis with those from Triticeae

        Zhi-Fu Guo,Xiang-Yu Long,Pan Dong,Yu-Ming Wei,Li-Ping Bai,Xiao-Xuan Dang,Hao-Lei Wan,Li-Jun Zhang,You-Liang Zheng 한국유전학회 2011 Genes & Genomics Vol.33 No.2

The α-gliadins from Crithopsis delileana (Schult) Roshev (2n=2x=14, KK) were investigated by Acid polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (A-PAGE) analysis. It was indicated that the electrophoresis mobility of gliadins from C.delileana had obvious difference with those from common wheat in α, γand ω region. Using primers designed from published sequences of α-gliadin genes, three α-gliadin genes were isolated from C. delileana, which were designated as gli-ka1,gli-ka2 and gli-ka3, respectively. Two in-frame stop codons were found in the coding sequences of gli-ka3, indicating that gli-ka3 could be a pseudogene. The gli-ka2 was a gliadin with an odd number of cysteines, resulting from a non-synonymous mutation. This change might lead to the interactive behavior of gli-ka2. Three α-gliadin genes of C. delileana had the similar but not identical primary structures to the corresponding gene sequences from other wheat related species. By the alignment of α-gliadin genes from Triticeae, phylogenetic analysis indicated that three α-gliadin genes of C. delileana clustered together with all α-gliadin genes from Ee genome of Lophopyrum elongatum by an interior paralleled branch.

Sorption kinetics of sulphate ions on quaternary ammonium-modified rice straw

        Wei Cao,Zhi Dang,Bao-Ling Yuan,Chun-Hua Shen,Jin Kan,Xiu-Ling Xue 한국공업화학회 2014 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.20 No.4

Batch sorption experiments with variable concentration of sulphate and temperature were conducted to investigate sorption kinetics of sulphate ions on quaternary ammonium-modified rice straw (QMRS). Kinetic data were discussed with pseudo first- and second-order rate equations and diffusion models. The results showed the sorption equilibrium time is about 20 min and the activated energy Ea is 19.3 kJ/mol. Increase of temperature and initial sulphate concentration favored sorption process. The sorption kinetics followed pseudo second-order rate equation, and the overall rate was determined by film diffusion. Additionally, characterization by 13C NMR and EDS confirmed the presence of quaternary ammonium groups in QMRS.

Nucleation behavior of glutathione polymorphs in water

        Hongyuan Wei,Zhi Chen,Leping Dang,Shuai Li 한국화학공학회 2013 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.30 No.10

Nucleation behavior of glutathione (GSH) polymorphs in water was investigated by experimental method combined with classical nucleation theory. The solubility of α and β forms GSH in water at different temperatures, and the nucleation induction period at various supersaturations and temperatures were determined experimentally. The results show that, in a certain range of supersaturation, the nucleation of β form predominates at relatively higher temperature, while α form will be obtained at lower temperature. The nucleation kinetics parameters of α and β form were then calculated. To understand the crucial role of temperature on crystal forms, “hypothetic” nucleation parameters of β form at 283.15 K were deduced based on extrapolation method. The results show that the interfacial tension, critical free energy, critical nucleus radius and nucleus number of α form are smaller than that of β form in the same condition at 283.15 K, which implies that α form nucleates easier than β form at low temperature. This work may be useful for the control and optimization of GSH crystallization process in industry.

A GENERALIZATION OF LOCAL SYMMETRIC AND SKEW-SYMMETRIC SPLITTING ITERATION METHODS FOR GENERALIZED SADDLE POINT PROBLEMS

        Jian-Lei Li,Dang Luo,Zhi-Jiang Zhang 한국전산응용수학회 2011 Journal of applied mathematics & informatics Vol.29 No.5

In this paper, we further investigate the local Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (LHSS) iteration method and the modified LHSS (MLHSS) iteration method for solving generalized nonsymmetric saddle point problems with nonzero (2,2) blocks. When A is non-symmetric positive definite, the convergence conditions are obtained, which generalize some results of Jiang and Cao [M.-Q. Jiang and Y. Cao, On local Hermitian and Skew-Hermitian splitting iteration methods for generalized saddle point problems, J. Comput. Appl. Math., 2009(231): 973-982] for the generalized saddle point problems to generalized nonsymmetric saddle point problems with nonzero (2,2) blocks. Numerical experiments show the effectiveness of the iterative methods.

Systemic control efficacy of neonicotinoids seeds dressing on English grain aphid (Hemiptera: Aphididae)

        Yaofa Li,Jing-Jie An,Zhi-Hong Dang,Wen-Liang Pan,Zhanlin Gao 한국응용곤충학회 2018 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.21 No.1

English grain aphid, Sitobion avenae (Fabricius) (Hemiptera: Aphididae), is an important pest of wheat (Triticumaestivum L.), and is usually controlled by intensive foliar sprays of pesticides under field conditions. In order toreduce labour costs and increase the utilization of pesticides, neonicotinoids seed treatment was studied as asimple and accurate control technology for S. avenae. We evaluated the mortality of imidacloprid, acetamiprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin, nitenpyram and dinotefuran to the English grain aphid by seed dressing methods inthe laboratory, and found that the toxicity with that LC50 of clothianidin (20.97 a.i. g/100 kg seeds) and thiamethoxam(28.84 a.i. g/100 kg seeds) to S. avenae are higher than other neonicotinoids. LC50 values of nitenpyram, imidacloprid and acetamiprid ranged between 120 a.i. g/100 kg seeds and 210 a.i. g/100 kg seeds. Dinotefuran showed the lowest toxicity with LC50 value 565.76 a.i. g/100 kg seeds to English grain aphid. Fieldplot experiments were conducted to investigate the control efficacy of neonicotinoids seed treatment for theaphid, and the effects on growth of wheat. Field observations indicated that clothianidin and thiamethoxamprovided the better control efficacy on the English grain aphid than imidacloprid, and had no influence on wheatseedling emergence. These results showed that seed treatment by neonicotinoids was effective against S. avenaethroughout the growth period, furthermore, thiamethoxam and clothianidin were the effective and safe alternativeoptions for S. avenae management in the crop.

Nomogram for predicting overall survival in children with neuroblastoma based on SEER database

        Song-Wu Liang,Gang Chen,Yi-Ge Luo,Peng Chen,Jin-Han Gu,Qiong-Qian Xu,Yi-Wu Dang,Li-Ting Qin,Hui-Ping Lu,Wen-Ting Huang,Zhi-Guang Huang,Li Gao,Jia-Bo Chen 대한외과학회 2020 Annals of Surgical Treatment and Research(ASRT) Vol.99 No.2

Purpose: This study was performed to establish and validate a nomogram for predicting the overall survival in children with neuroblastoma. Methods: The latest clinical data of neuroblastoma in Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database was extracted from 2000 to 2016. The cases included were randomly divided into training and validation cohorts. The survival curves were drawn with a Kaplan-Meier estimator to investigate the influences of certain single factors on overall survival. Also, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression was applied to further select the prognostic variables for neuroblastoma. Additionally, receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and calibration curves were used to evaluate the accuracy of the nomogram. Results: In total, 1,262 patients were collected and 8 independent prognostic factors were achieved, including patients’ age, sex, race, tumor grade, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, tumor site, and tumor size. Then we constructed a nomogram by using the data of the training cohort with 886 cases. Subsequently, the nomogram was validated internally and externally with 886 and 376 cases, respectively. The internal validation revealed that the area under the curves (AUC) of ROC curves of 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival were 0.69, 0.78, and 0.81, respectively. Accordingly, the external validation also showed that the AUC of 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival were all ≥0.69. Both methods of validation demonstrated that the predictive calibration curves were consistent with standard curves. Conclusion: The nomogram possess the potential to be a new tool in predicting the survival rate of neuroblastoma patients.

      • Effect of Trichostatin A on Anti HepG2 Liver Carcinoma Cells: Inhibition of HDAC Activity and Activation of Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling

        Shi, Qing-Qiang,Zuo, Guo-Wei,Feng, Zi-Qiang,Zhao, Lv-Cui,Luo, Lian,You, Zhi-Mei,Li, Dang-Yang,Xia, Jing,Li, Jing,Chen, Di-Long Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.18

Purpose: To investigate the effect of deacetylase inhibitory trichostatin A (TSA) on anti HepG2 liver carcinoma cells and explore the underlying mechanisms. Materials and Methods: HepG2 cells exposed to different concentrations of TSA for 24, 48, or 72h were examined for cell growth inhibition using CCK8, changes in cell cycle distribution with flow cytometry, cell apoptosis with annexin V-FTIC/PI double staining, and cell morphology changes under an inverted microscope. Expression of ${\beta}$-catenin, HDAC1, HDAC3, H3K9, CyclinD1 and Bax proteins was tested by Western blotting. Gene expression for ${\beta}$-catenin, HDAC1and HDAC3 was tested by q-PCR. ${\beta}$-catenin and H3K9 proteins were also tested by immunofluorescence. Activity of Renilla luciferase (pTCF/LEF-luc) was assessed using the Luciferase Reporter Assay system reagent. The activity of total HDACs was detected with a HDACs colorimetric kit. Results: Exposure to TSA caused significant dose-and time-dependent inhibition of HepG2 cell proliferation (p<0.05) and resulted in increased cell percentages in G0/G1 and G2/M phases and decrease in the S phase. The apoptotic index in the control group was $6.22{\pm}0.25%$, which increased to $7.17{\pm}0.20%$ and $18.1{\pm}0.42%$ in the treatment group. Exposure to 250 and 500nmol/L TSA also caused cell morphology changes with numerous floating cells. Expression of ${\beta}$-catenin, H3K9and Bax proteins was significantly increased, expression levels of CyclinD1, HDAC1, HDAC3 were decreased. Expression of ${\beta}$-catenin at the genetic level was significantly increased, with no significant difference in HDAC1and HDAC3 genes. In the cytoplasm, expression of ${\beta}$-catenin fluorescence protein was not obvious changed and in the nucleus, small amounts of green fluorescence were observed. H3K9 fluorescence protein were increased. Expression levels of the transcription factor TCF werealso increased in HepG2 cells following induction by TSA, whikle the activity of total HDACs was decreased. Conclusions: TSA inhibits HDAC activity, promotes histone acetylation, and activates Wnt/${\beta}$-catenin signaling to inhibit proliferation of HepG2 cell, arrest cell cycling and induce apoptosis.
