        소 결합 환경에서 순환 질의 처리를 위한 형판 연산기법

        본 논문에서는 소 결합 환경하에서 순환 질의의 한 부류를 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 template 처리 기법을 제안하고, 그 정당성을 증명하였다. Template 처리 기법은 주 기억장치내의 릴레이션과 이차 기억장치에 저장되어 있는 릴레이션 사이의 비용이 비싼 결합 연산(join)을 완전히 제거함으로써 순환 질의를 효과적으로 처리한다. 본 기법으로 처리할 수 있는 질의의 부류는 Whang과 Navathe가 제안한 확장된 논리합 정규형(extended disjunctive normal form)으로 표현하였을 때, 하나의 비환형 트리(nonlooped-tree)와 하나의 단일환형 트리(single looped tree)로 표현된다. We present the template evaluation technique for efficient processing of a class of recursive logic queries in a loosely-coupled environment. Using this technique, queries are evaluated efficiently by avoiding costly joins between an in-memory relation residing in main memory and a database relation residing in the secondary storage. The queries in this class are those represented by one nonlooped tree and one single-looped tree (indicating linear recursion) in the extended disjunction normal form proposed by Whang and Navathe. We also prove the correctness of the template evaluation technique.

        The epidemiology, diagnostic criteria, clinical features, symptoms and signs laboratory findings, kidney pathology, and clinicopathologic correlation of systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) were analyzed. The 63 patients studied were managed at the Department of Internal medicine, CNUH, from January 1983 to December 1997. Kidney biopsy was performed in 53 patients out of 63 patients with SLE. The results were as follows: 1. The ratio of male to female was 1:26. They were 12 to 71 years old and mean age was 32.1 years old. The peak age incidence was 4th decades(30%). 2. The most frequent chief complaint on admission was generalized edema. Most patients complain two or more symptoms. 3. Immunologic and renal disorders were the most frequently observed in the ARA criteria of SLE. And the positive ANA, hematologic disorder, malar rash, and arthritis, were observed in order of frequency. 4. Among the 53 patients with renal biopsy, 30 patients revealed class Ⅳ lupus nephritis(56%), class II in 12 patients(23%), class V in 8 patients(15%) and class III in 2 patients(6%). 5. The cases of lupus nephritis represented as nephrotic syndrome were high in the class IV with 68% and class V with 86%. 6. Of 30 patients who can be followed up, 5 patients resulted in death(17 % of mortality). They "were 14 to 57 years old and mean age was 28 years old. Follow up duration were from 1 month to 6 years and 3 months, and mean duration was 1 year and 1 month, but 3 cases 7. The causes of death were as follows: Two cases were due to seizure and coma resulted from CNS involvement. One was sepsis due to miliary the & pneumonia. One was dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure due to cardiac ac involvement. And the other one was sepsis and acute renal failure resulted from cellulitis. 8. Prednisolone was used in all patients basically, and methyl-prednisolone pulse therapy, antimalarials and alkylating agents were used in some cases. In the cases of combined therapy, the activity of SLE was well controlled.

        Sweep Co-Distillation법에 의한 산화방지제의 추출법

        식용유지 중의 산화방지제를 효율적으로 분석하기 위하여 일반적인 용매추출법과 SCD법으로 전처리하여 HPLC법으로 비교 분석하였다. SCD법의 최적조건은 florisil의 활성도와 UNITREX의 온도와 추출시간에 따른 회수율로 분석하였다. 식용유지에 산화방지제를 농도별로 가하여 용매추출법과 SCD법의 회수율을 비교한 결과 용매추출법은 80.4∼102.1%, SCD법은 89.8∼106.4%로 나타났다. Florisil의 활성화에 따르면 2% 수분 첨가시 TBHQ, BHA, BHT는 89.8∼106.4%로 회수율이 가장 높았고, PG는 5% 수분 첨가시 53.9±7.3%의 회수율을 보였다. 회수율은 UNITREX의 210℃에서 20분간 추출하였을 때 가장 높았다. This study was conducted to evaluate the extraction methods for the determination of antioxidants in soybean oil. Recovery rates of various antioxidants in soybean oil showed similar rates as 80.4∼102.1% by solvent/solvent extraction method and 89.8∼106.4% by sweep co-distillation method except 46.6∼61.2% of PG at corresponding spiked concentractions. The maximum recovery rates of antioxidants were obtained when extraction time and extraction temperature used in UNITREX were 20min and 210℃ respectively. In the recovery rates with the activation of florisil, when 2% of water was added to florisil, the highest recovery rates for TBHQ, BHA, BHT were obtained by sweep co-distillation method. Therefore, sweep co-distillation method showed less solvent, simple operation and high recovery rate compared with solvent/solvent extraction method.

      • 해조류에서 추출한 SCH-T3의 elastase 억제

        Background & Objective: Upon UV irradiation of skin, matrix metalloproteinases are induced and then degrade collagen and elastin which provide the structural integrity of skin. The purpose of this study is to investigate the inhibition of elastase by SCH-T3 extracted from marine plants. Method: From gathered seaweeds, which are Laminariacea and Alariaceae in Phaeophyta, In Korea water, 21 materials were extracted. To determine the optimal condition for the extraction of SCH-T3, the yields of SCH-T3 was measured compared at various solvents, concentrations, and extraction time. Finally, the inhibitory effect of SCH-T3 on elastase was measured under various conentrations of SCH-T3. Results: Among 21 extracts, SCH-T3 had excellent elastase inhibitory effect. The yields of SCH-T3 was highest with the use of 60% and 70% ethanol as sovents, at 12 hours extraction, and with increasing temperature. Conclusion: These results suggest that SCH-T3, extracted from marine plants, has an inhibitory effect on elastase in vitro and may be used in prevention and treatment of photoaging in the future.

        Gas Permeation of SiC Membrane Coated on Multilayer γ-Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> with a Graded Structure for H<sub>2</sub> Separation

        A promising candidate material for a $H_2$ permeable membrane is SiC due to its many unique properties. A hydrogen-selective SiC membrane was successfully fabricated on the outer surface of an intermediate multilayer $\gamma-Al_2O_3$ with a graded structure. The $\gamma-Al_2O_3$ multilayer was formed on top of a macroporous $\alpha-Al_2O_3$ support by consecutively dipping into a set of successive solutions containing boehmite sols of different particle sizes and then calcining. The boehmite sols were prepared from an aluminum isopropoxide precursor and heated to $80^{\circ}C$ with high speed stirring for 24 hrs to hydrolyze the precursor. Then the solutions were refluxed at $92^{\circ}C$ for 20 hrs to form a boehmite precipitate. The particle size of the boehmite sols was controlled according to various experimental parameters, such as acid types and acid concentrations. The topmost SiC layer was formed on top of the intermediate $\gamma-Al_2O_3$ by pyrolysis of a SiC precursor, polycarbosilane, in an Ar atmosphere. The resulting amorphous SiC-on-$Al_2O_3$ composite membrane pyrolyzed at $900^{\circ}C$ possessed a high $H_2$ permeability of $3.61\times10^{-7}$ $mol{\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}s^{-1}{\cdot}Pa^{-1}$ and the $H_2/CO_2$ selectivity was much higher than the theoretical value of 4.69 in all permeation temperature ranges. Gas permeabilities through a SiC membrane are affected by Knudsen diffusion and a surface diffusion mechanism, which are based on the molecular weight of gas species and movement of adsorbed gas molecules on the surface of the pores.

        안검 모낭충 감염군과 안구건조증 환자 중 비감염군에서의 마이봄샘 소실 비교

        목적: 비접촉 마이봄샘촬영술을 이용하여 눈꺼풀 모낭충 감염 여부에 따른 마이봄샘 소실 정도를 비교하고자 하였다. 대상과 방법: 저자들은 눈꺼풀 모낭충에 감염된 24명의 성인 환자와 감염되지 않은 40명의 환자를 대상으로 적외선 디지털 카메라를 사용하여 비접촉 마이봄샘촬영술을 시행하였다. 마이봄샘의 소실을 기준으로 오른쪽 눈의 위눈꺼풀과 아래눈꺼풀의 마이봄점수를 합하여 각 피험자에 대한 전체 마이봄점수를 구했다. 각 그룹의 눈꺼풀 모낭충 감염 여부 및 성별에 따라 마이봄점수를 평가하였다. 결과: 64명 64안이 연구에 등록되었으며, 평균 나이는 67.9세(40-79세, 남자 65.2세, 여자 69.1세)였다. 눈꺼풀 모낭충 감염과 총 마이봄점수, 위 및 아래눈꺼풀 마이봄점수 사이에 유의한 연관성이 있었다(각각, p=0.000, p=0.002, p=0.004). 마이봄점수는 남자와 여자 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었다. 연령과 마이봄점수 사이에 양의 상관 관계가 시사되었으나, 본 연구에서는 집중된 연령 분포로 인해 R2 값이 낮았다. 결론: 비접촉 마이봄샘촬영술을 이용한 검사에서 눈꺼풀 모낭충 감염이 마이봄샘 변화와 유의한 관련이 있었다. Purpose: To compare the degree of meibomian gland drop-out associated with Demodex infestation using non-contact meibography. Methods: We performed noncontact meibography using an infrared digital camera on 24 adult subjects infested by Demodex and 40 without infestation. The right upper and lower lids were scored based on the loss of meibomian glands, and the scores of the upper and lower eyelids were summed to obtain the total meiboscore for each subject. Meiboscores were evaluated according to Demodex infestation and gender in each group. Results: Sixty-four eyes of 64 people were enrolled in this study. The study subjects had an average age of 67.9 years (range, 40-79 years; men, 65.2 years; women, 69.1 years). There was a significant association between Demodex infestation and total meiboscore and upper and lower eyelid meiboscores (p = 0.000, p = 0.002, p = 0.004, respectively). There was no significant difference in the meiboscores between men and women. Age and meiboscore suggested a weak positive correlation; however, the R2 value was low, due to the concentrated age distribution of the study population. Conclusions: Based on noncontact meibography, the authors concluded that the prevalence of changes in the meibomian glands was significantly related to Demodex infestation; however, there was no significant difference between men and women.
