        This study focuses on the inspect of effective net area design code, according to limited state design criteria of steel structures, recently established in Korea, by an experiment on the joint of angle tension members on the ground. reduction factor. The methods of this study were to compare other study results on effective net area rupture mode and ultimate capacity, and to evaluate the propriety of the criteria design code. The result is that code in force limited state design criteria of steel structures and AISC-LRFD joint of angle tension members predicted load and experiment depend on ultimate capacity difference. Therefore, it is thought that there is need for supplemental test and study to effective net area of tension joint focused on bolted connection of angle.

      • Synergistic effects of alkylated graphene oxide on the properties of polypropylene-based carbon nanocomposites.

        <P>Polypropylene (PP)/carbon black (CB)-alkylated graphene oxide (AGO) hybrid nanocomposites were prepared via solution process and the synergistic effects of AGO on the properties of the PP/CB nanocomposites were investigated. AGO at a content of only 0.2 wt% formed an overlapped network structure in the PP matrix and affected the electrical, thermal and mechanical properties of the PP/CB nanocomposites. Specifically, PP/CB (5 wt%)-AGO (0.2 wt%) nanocomposites exhibited an electrical percolation threshold at lower CB contents than the PP/CB nanocomposites did, and the sheet resistance was decreased to 2.3 x 10(7) omega/sq. The thermal degradation temperature and recrystallization temperature of the PP/CB (10 wt%) nanocomposites were increased by 11.3 and 1.6 degrees C, respectively, by the addition of 0.2 wt% AGO. In addition, the Young's modulus of the PP/CB (10 wt%) nanocomposite was increased from 438.1 to 540.1 MPa.</P>

        Caffeine이 지구성 운동 수행능력에 미치는 영향과 억제성 아미노산에 의하여 활성화되는 이온통로의 조절작용

        To investigate the effect and mechanism of caffeine on endurance exercise, two experiments were performed. First, to test caffeine effect on aerobic exercise, 200-300g Sprague-Dawley rats were used and three groups, control group, low caffeine injection group and high caffeine injection group, were divided. Blood smpling by heart puncture were done at rest, after 30 min treadmill exercise, and after maximal exercise. Blood glucose, free fatty acid concentration were detected and following results were obtained. Glucose concentration showed significant difference between groups(p=0.0305) and also significant changes were exhibited between time(p=0.0004). Free fatty acid concentration had no difference between groups. but had significance between times(p=0.00065). Exercise endurance performance time showed significant difference(p=0.02350 in high caffeine injection group compared to control group. In this experiments, endurance exercise capacity was increased by caffeine injection. Therefore, second experiment was performed to investigate the effect of caffeine on ion current induced inhibitory amino acid neurotransmitter. GABA and glycine. Single periaqueductal gray neuron was acutely dissociated and nystatin perforated patch clamp was performed under voltage clamping condition. Caffeine evoked outward current in PAG neuron dose dependent manner. 1mM of caffeine application had no response. but 3mM caffeine evoked about 32.5±8.539pA outward ion current and 10mM caffeine evoked about 215.46±19.4pA outward current. 10^-2mM GABA activated Cl ̄current and recorded by inward current. Caffeine inhibited GABA activated Cl ̄ current concentration dependent manner. 10^-2mM of caffeine had no effect on 1-^-2mM of GABA response. but 10^-1mM caffeine inhibited GABA activated Cl ̄ current about 5.74±2.13%, 1mM caffeine inhibited about 17.25±2.70%, 10mM caffeine inhibited GABA response about 45.31±7.71%. 10^-1mM of glycine activated Cl ̄ current and also recorded by inward current. Caffeine inhibited glycine activated Cl ̄ current concentration dependent manner. 10^-2mM caffeine decreased glycine activated Cl ̄ current about 4.61±1.650%, 10^-1mM caffeine decreased about 6.49±2.24%, 1mM caffeine decreased about 26.82±4.27%, and 10mM caffeine decreased glycine response about 94.47±1.39%. These results suggest that caffeine inhibite inhibitory amino acid, GABA and glycine, this response causes excitation of CNS and this seems to be the basic mechanism of increasing effect to aerobic exercise performance by caffeine.

      • 심한 골병변으로 발현된 기능성 낭종성 부갑상선 선종

        낭종성 부갑상선 선종과 심한 골병변을 동반한 부갑상선 기능항진증은 매우 드문 질환으로서, 저자들은 양측 고관절의 통증을 초기 주소로 내원한 환자에서 고칼슘혈증과 부갑상선 호르몬 증가, 골병변의 방사선적 소견을 통해 부갑상선 기능항진증을 진단하고, 경부 초음파와 컴퓨터 단층 촬영, 부갑상선 스캔검사 및 수술중 부갑상선 낭종액 검사 등을 통해 기능성 부갑상선 낭종의 한 종류인 낭종성 부갑상선 선종을 진단하고 수술적 제거를 통하여 정상화된 1예를 경험하였다. A cystic parathyroid adenoma is rare. A case of primary hyperparathyroidism, with the cystic formation of a parathyroid adenoma and a severe bony lesion, is reported. A 52-year-old male was admitted due to pain in both hips and for evaluation of hypercalcemia. The plasma level of the intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH) was elevated to 1424 pg/mL. Ultrasonography and the computed tomography revealed a parathyroid cyst on the left thyroid lower pole. Parathyroid scintigraphy detected a parathyroid adenoma. A radiograph showed a subperiosteal bone resorption on the phalanges, and a brown tumor (osteitis fibrosa cystica) on the femur shaft was noted. A surgical excision of the parathyroid adenoma was performed. The PTH level in the cystic fluid was increased. A histological examination confirmed a cystic parathyroid adenoma. The PTH level was normalized after the operation (J Kor SOC Endocrinol 18:214-220, 2003).

        During a decade, there are many researches on microfactory which is the miniature, flexible, and efficient manufacturing system for the micro/meso scale machining device. Moreover many micro machine tool has developed in Japan, U.S., Europe, and Korea. Already we are developing a desktop milling machine with 380×450×450 ㎣ machine size for microfactory or BT (Bio technology) factory. In this study, we carried out the design analysis of a high speed spindle system for our desktop milling machine by using ADROS, which is our own developed S/W for dynamic design analysis of rotor systems. As the result, we obtained some analyzed dynamic characteristics of a spindle system, such as natural frequency, whirl frequency, critical speed, and harmonic response.

        This study was proposed to explore the present level of personal maladjustment in Pusan elite athletes. In order to achieve the purposed of the study 112 high school male and 68 university male students were selected by systematic sampling from the list of the students in Pusan elite athletes. They were asked for completing a questionnaire of Derogatics' Symptom Check List-go for personal maladjustment. The following conclusion were delineated. In Personal maladjustment, high school maleplayers showed higher personal maladjustment level than that of university male players on the whole. Among them, high school volleyball players, basketball players and university wrestlers showed the highest level of maladjustment personality.

        The purpose of this study is to develop the standard level of anxiety for competition, which can be effectively used to lessen the level of anxiety and then increase athletic performance in various categories of sports. For this study SCAT method developed by Martens was applied to 22 non players and to 88 players who were to participate in the athletic meeting of the whole of a country boys and girls. The results of my investigation summarized as follows; 1) The scores of SCAT difference wasn't between the groups of elementary school players and middle school players. But the groups of Handball player were t=2.94>t=2.58(p=0.01). The anxiety scores of the groups of middle school players were lower than those of elementary school players. The difference of the score is significant at the level of significance,1%. 2) In the groups of middle school players showed between Track and field players and non players, between swimming player and non players at the level of significance 5%. Namely, the anxiety score of the groups of Track and field and swimming players were higher than those of various categories of sports. 3) The score difference between the groups of individual sport players and that of team sport players showed significant at the level of significance 1%. In the groups of middle school player showed between the groups of individual sport players and that of team sport players were t=3.30>t=2.58(p=0.01). The anxiety scores of the groups team sport players were lower than those of individual sport players. The difference of the score is significant at the level of significance 5%.

      • 小麥胚芽의 化學的 租成에 關한 硏究

        제분산업의 부산물로 얻어지는 소맥배아(wheat germ)의 화학적 조성은 다음과 같다. 1. 일반성분은 조섬유소의 함량이 42.88%로 가장 높았고 조단백질(21.57%), 조지방(9.88%), 당(11.10%), 수분(10.80%) 그리고 회분(3.77%)의 순으로 나타났다. 2. 조단백성분을 이루는 각 아미노산의 함량은 Glycine과 Lysine의 함량이 각각 221.06, 216.00mg/100g으로 가장 높았고 Threonine, Glutamic acid, Proline 등의 아미노산함유율도 비교적 높았으며 Tryptophan, Valine, Methionine, Leucine, Isoleucine 등의 필수아미노산의 종류로 골고루 함유되어 있었다. 3. 소맥배아의 무기질성분은 K, Mg, Ca. Mn, Zn, Fe, 그리고 Cu의 순으로 함유율이 높았으며 특히 K의 함량은 다른 성분에 비해 1495. 25mg/100g을 나타내어 매우 함유율이 높았으나 Na성분은 검출되지 않았다. 4. 소맥배아중의 식이섬유소의 함량은 16.0-18.1%로 나타났다. 5. 소맥배아유의 지방산조성은 linoleic acid가 59.9%로 가장 높았고 palmitic, oleic, linolenic 그리고 stearic acid의 순으로 나타났다. 이 중 PUFA의 함유율은 65%이상이었고 포화지방산은palmitic acid가 17.7%로 나타나 전체 포화지방산 함량의 96%를 차지하였다. 6. 소맥배아유의 토코페롤 함량은 충 463mg/100g으로 나타났으며 그 중 65% 정도가 α-tocopherol로 301mg/100g이었고, β-tocopherol은 150mg/100g으로 30%를 차지하였다. 그밖에 d-tocopherol이 미량 검출되었으나 γ-tocopherol은 발견되지 않았다. The chemical composition of wheat germ, which can be recovered as a by-product of the flour milling industry were summerized as follows. 1. Overall chemical composition of wheat germ has a higher crude fiber content, 42.88%, followed by crude proteins(21.57%), crude lipids(9.88%), sugars(11.10%), water(10.80%), and ash(3.77). 2. The amino acid contents of germ protein were In order of Glycine, Lysine, Threonine, Glutamic acid, Proline, Arginine, Alanine, Tryptophan, Leucine. The germ protein has also rich in the essential amino acids Valine, Methionine and Isoleucine in which many of the cereals are deficient. 3. The elements contributing to ash of wheat germ showed high contents of the trace mineral elements from K, Mg, Ca, Mn, Zn, Fe, and Cu. Potassium content of germ minerals was greater than that of the other mineral elements as 1495.25mg/100g. But sodium element of germ mineral not detected. Wheat germ contained high concentrations of nutritionally important trace elements like zinc, manganese, copper, iron, and selenium. 4. The dietary fiber contents of wheat germ by frosty AOAC method were 16.0∼18.1%. 5. Fatty acid cotents of lipids of wheat germ were In order of linoleic, palmitic, oleic, linolenic. and stearic acid. The PUFA contents of the total fatty acid composition were65%. Palmitic arid, the principle fatty acid, formed 96% of the total saturated fatty acids. 6. Tocopherol compositions of wheat germ oil determined Identifiable tocopherol, α-,β-, and δ-tocopherol. Alpha(301mg/100g)-, and Beta-tocopherol(150mg/100g) contents of the total tocopherol(463mg/100g) compositions was 65%, 30% respectively and δ-to-copherol contents was trace. But γ-tocopherol of tocopherol isomers in wheat germ oil not detected.

      • 沖積河川에서의 不定流 流砂移送에 관한 수치모델

        A one-dimensional numerical model for unsteady sediment transport on artificial alluvial river channel is developed. The Lax-Wendroff two-step explicit scheme for water motion and a forward time centered space explicit scheme for sediment motion are developed to simulate the sediment transport rate and the variation of channel bed level. The sensitivity studies show that higher peak stage level, steeper channel slope and longer flooding duration produce more channel bed erosion, and median grain size, D_50=0.4mm give maximum volume loss in this study. Finally, the numerical model is found to produce reasonable results from the various sensitivity tests which reveal that the numerical model has properly responded to changes of each model parameter.
