        만성적 소음폭로가 근로자의 혈압에 미치는 영향

        The question of an association between occupational noise exposure and blood pressure has important public health implications. The harmful effects of hypertension are well known and noise is considered the most pervasive problem of all occupational exposures in Taegu City, Korea. A cross-sectional study on the effect of long-term noise exposure on blood pressure was done for 276 noise exposed workers(203 male workers, 73 female workers). Long-term noise exposure was measured by cumulative noise exposure level and noise-induced hearing loss. Hearing loss = 500Hz+2×1,000Hz+2×2,000Hz+4,000Hz -------------------------------------- 6 Questionnaire was administered to the workers, which includes age, sex, occupational history on the noise exposure, habits on alcohol drinking and smoking, practice of regular exercises, family history of hypertension. Type A behavior, question on stress, height, weight and blood pressure were measured. Serum triglyceride and low density lipoprotein(LDL) were also measured. Audiometry was done in the closed booth at 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 6,000, 8,000, 1,000 and 500Hz in order. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that cumulative noise exposure level(p〈0.05), serum triglyceride(p〈0.01), age(p〈0.01) and family history of hypertension(p〈0.05) predict hypertension (systolic blood pressure : 160㎜Hg or above, or diastolic blood pressure : 95㎜Hg or above) in male workers. In female workers, serum triglyceride(p〈0.01), LDL(p〈0.01) and family history of hypertension(p〈0.05) were predictors of hypertension (systolic blood pressure : 160㎜Hg or above, or diastolic blood pressure : 95㎜Hg or above). As the number of female workers with hypertension was too small, the multiple logistic regression was done according to hypertension criteria of systolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 140㎜Hg, or diastolic blood pressure greater than or equal to 90㎜Hg. Based on this criteria, cumulative noise exposure level(p=0.055) and age(p=0.057) predict hypertension. It is suggested that long-term noise exposure which was calculated by cumulative noise exposure level was a significant predictor of hypertension in noise exposed workers.

        수용액상 MEK 분리용 접촉식 분리막 시스템에 대한 물질전달계수 : 실험 및 이론적 고찰 Experimental and Theoretical Aspects

        휘발성 유기 용매 중의 하나인 MEK(methyl ethyl ketone)를 수용액으로부터 평막형 접촉식 분리막을 이용하여 분리하고자 하였으며, 사용된 접촉식 분리막 장치에 대한 이론적, 실험적 총괄 물질 전달 계수를 구하고자 하였다. 회분식 분리 실험 장치에 상업용 다공성, 소수성 PDDF 분리막을 설치 이용하였으며 분리막 표면 위에 형성되는 농도 분극 경계층에 대한 Sh수(Sherwood number), Re(Reynolds number), Sc수(Schmidt number)의 관계식을 지지액막을 이용한 페놀 분리 실험을 통하여 결정하였다. 이 관계식을 사용하여 동일한 실험장치에 설치한 접촉식 분릭막으로 용매를 사용 MEK를 분리하는데 필요한 이론적 총괄 물질 전달 계수를 산출하였다. 회분식 접촉식 분리막 실험 장치에 대한 실험적 총괄 물질 전달 계수를 얻기 위한 식을 도출하였으며, MEK 분리 실험 결과를 적용하여 실험적 총괄 물질 전달 계수 값을 얻을 수 있었다. 이론적 총괄 물질 전달 계수와 실험적 물질 전달 계수 값들은 같은 차수를 보여주는 범위에서 비교적 잘 일치함을 확인할 수 있었다. MEK(methyl ethyl ketone), one of major volatile organic compounds(voc), was separated from its aqueous solution using a flat membrance contactor. The overall mass transfer coefficient observed experimentally. A correlation equation of Sherwood number was determined in terms of Reynolds number and Schmidt number for the concentration boundary layer which might exist on the surface of the commercially available porous PVDF membrane installed in a batch type apparatus. This correlation equation was determined experimentally from a separation experiments of phenol by a supported liquid membrane set up in the same apparatus. It was applied to estimate a theoretical overall mass transfer coefficient of MEK through the membrane contactor installed in the same apparatus. An experimental overall mass transfer coefficient could be obtained from the equation which was derived to describe the MEK separation phenomena in the batch type membrane contactor. The theoretical overall mass transfer coefficient was in good agreement with the experimental overall mass transfer coefficient in a sense that they are in the same order of magnitude.

        This study was conducted to investigate the biomechanical characteristics of the gait pattern in an amputee for the purpose of improving the proper gait posture and designing the prosthetic. The subjects were six males amputees and one normal person. The ground reaction force was measured using AMTI force platform. The conclusions were as follows; 1. In case of amputee group, the ground reaction force was revealed in specific figure according to position in which they used the prosthetic, whereas in case of normal person the ground reaction force was revealed in the figure of two humps in regard of vertical axis. 2. In case of amputee group, the ground reaction force in time between fight foot contact and left foot contact was deviated from a figure of rectangle, whereas in case of normal person the ground reaction force was revealed in the figure of rectangle. 3. In case of amputee group, the ground reaction force referred to both feet angle point of view was revealed in irregular figure, whereas in case of normal person the ground reaction force was revealed about 47。

      • 대두 식이섬유를 이용한 특수 영양식품의 유효성 평가

        In the development of enteral foods for the patients with diarrhea, soybean hull, by-products of soybean processing, was used to prepare crude dietary fiber extracts (soybean hull fiber, SHF). Total dietary fiber content of SHF is 85% and their composition are 86.1% cellulose, 8.1% hemi-cellulose, and 4.7% lignin. The effects of SHF on the prevention of diarrhea were studied in animal. Spraque-Dawley (SD) rats were fed AIN93G diets containing 5% dietary fiber for 3days simultaneously inducing diarrhea with the phenolphthalein Mg citrate solution. On day 4, feces were collected at different time point. Dietary fibers used for the animal study were SHF, soybean cotyledon fiber (SCF), psyllium husk fiber (PHF), and chicory fiber (CF). α-cellulose was used as a control. Body weight gain, calorie consumed and food efficiency ratio among the experimental groups were not different. However, water content in the feces of SHF group was significantly lower by 10%, compared with other groups at 24hrs. time point. This effect was even greater in the feces collected later than 24 hrs. time point. SHF seems to have a greater effects on slow the symptom of diarrhea. Based on the previous results, enteral food enriched with SHF were prepared and its effect was compared with other commercially available products from domestic or imported ones. Weight changes among experimental groups were not different, but the moisture content of feces consumed SHF enriched products were lower than that of other products. Approximately 10% decrease in water content was observed from feces collected at 24 hr time point. According to the sensory evaluation, overall acceptability of the enteral food enriched with SHF was 3.24 out of 5 indicating that taste of this product is acceptable. 대두가공에 부산물로부터 얻어지는 대두 식이섬유를 이용하여 설사환자를 위한 경장 영양 식이를 개발하기 위하여 쥐에게 투여한 후 체중증가율, 변의 수분감소, 사료효율 등을 측정하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 대두피 중의 식이섬유함량은 85% 이었고 cellulose 가장 높았으며 hemi-cellulose, lignin의 순 이었다. 대두 식이섬유가 대조구에 비하여 체중 감소율은 약간 낮았고 사료효율은 약간 높았다. 대두 식이섬유를 섭취시킨 쥐가 치커리 식이섬유, 차전자 피에 비하여 24시간 후의 변의 수분함량은 10% 낮았다. 대두 식이섬유를 첨가한 경장영양식이로 사육한 쥐의 체중변화와 사료효율은 3제품 간에 차이가 없었으나 다른 하나의제품은 대조군에 비하여 낮았다. 대두 식이섬유를 이용하여 가공한 경장영양식이 다른 상업용 제품에 비하여 실험쥐의 변 수분함량은 10% 이상 낮았다.

        The purpose of this study was to longitudinally analyze influences of functional prefrontal lobe on science achievement in middle school students. In this longitudinal study, 47 students(male 19, female 27) were sampled in local area. The students were administered test of GALT(group assessment of logical thinking), CTST(classroom test of scientific test), FIT(figural intersection test), GEFT(group embedded figural intersection test), TOL(tower of London), WCST(Wisconsin card sorting test) at December 1997 and 1999. It is substitute science achievement for science grade each year. The resulted that prefrontal lobe was influenced upon science achievement. Science achievement statistically significant correlated with functional prefrontal lobe, specially logical thinking level, scientific reasoning, perseveration error. And, the development of functional prefrontal lobe functions did not only linear, but also each function has differ with development speed and period. School science classroom was suited high level students. Who has been grade C and D in first-grade, they did not improved. A first-grade achievement effect on science achievement. And also scientific reasoning ability effect on science achievement.

        Comparing internal ureteroneocystostomy with external ureteroneocystostomy, the later is simple, utilizes minimal donor ureteral length, avoids two large cystostomy, and brings watertight anastomosis. Special attention should be paid on circulatory status to donor ureter while performing donor nephrectomy. The external ureteroneocystostomy as described by MacKinnon is the preferred technique to urinary reconstruction in clinical renal transplantation.

        Soy Isoflavones and Soyasaponins: Characteristics and Physiological Functions

        Soy is an important food in Asia and many studies have suggested that the low incidences of chronic diseases in Asian countries are associated with diets that are rich in soy. Soy contains many kinds of phytochemicals, and soy isoflavones and soyasaponins have received considerable attention. Twelve isoflavone components have been isolated from soy: three aglycones (daidzein, genistein, and glycitein), and their respective nine glucosidic conjugates. Soy isoflavones are similar in structure to estrogen and exhibit both estrogenic and antiestrogenic activities. Soy isoflavones exhibit anticancer activity, can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, and are beneficial to brain and bone health. Soyasaponins are divided into three groups (A, B, and E saponins), and they exhibit hypocholesterolemic, anticancer, hepatoprotective, antioxidative, and anti-human-immunodeficiency-virus effects. Despite the abundant literature suggesting that soy isoflavones and soyasaponins have potential applications in preventive medicine, further research is needed to standardize dosages and ensure their efficacy.
