Rapid Synthesis of W–Cr Solid–Solution by Dielectric-Barrier Discharge-Plasma-Assisted Ball Milling

Supersaturated solid–solutions in a W–Cr alloy system were fabricated by conventional milling and plasma milling. The differentextension mechanisms of the solid solubility that were created by ball milling with and without discharge plasma werestudied. The solid–solubility of Cr in W for the P-milling W–Cr alloy system was higher, which indicates that plasma millingpromotes the formation of W(Cr) solid–solution more easily than conventional milling. According to Miedema’s model, inthe W–Cr alloy system, the free-energy change to form a W(Cr) solid solution by plasma milling is reduced compared withconventional milling because of the heating effect of the discharge plasma. Therefore, a higher stored energy in the grainboundaries and dislocations of the W–Cr nanograins during plasma milling makes it easier to overcome the thermodynamicbarrier in the formation of a solid–solution, when compared with conventional milling.
APPLICATION OF SIR-C DATA FOR EXPLORATION OF MINERALIZED ZONES(HWANGGANG-RI, KOREA)

This paper investigated and evaluated the NASA's Shuttle Imaging Radar-C (SIR-C) multiple frequency SAR data for differential backscattering effects of microwave from the surface geological materials overlying the skarn type mineralization. Although an integrated approach in mineral exploration is more cost effective and is well in use, there are still many technical and scientific issues to be further investigated and researched. In this study we have reprocessed several sets of previously surveyed exploration data and experimented with fuzzy logic digital fusion of the preprocessed data with respect to chosen exploration targets. Among the numerous fuzzy logic operators, which are currently available for a data driven integrated exploration strategy, we used varying combinations of fuzzy MIN, fuzzy MAX, and fuzzy SUM operators along with Gamma operator for fusion of exploration data, including the contact metamorphic zone information. The final exploration target tested was a skarn type W-Mo-F mineralization in the study area. The fuzzy logic derived mineral potential anomaly almost exactly matched the differential baekscattering anomalies on the C-band and L-band SIR_C data when overlaid tin each other. Although this high degree of correlation between these two data sets is remarkable, the differential backscattering anomaly over the skarn type W-Mo-F mineralization in the study area requires further investigation.
Text-independent Speaker Identification Using Soft Bag-of-Words Feature Representation

We present a robust speaker identification algorithm that uses novel features based on soft bag-of-word representation and a simple Naive Bayes classifier. The bag-of-words (BoW) based histogram feature descriptor is typically constructed by summarizing and identifying representative prototypes from low-level spectral features extracted from training data. In this paper, we define a generalization of the standard BoW. In particular, we define three types of BoW that are based on crisp voting, fuzzy memberships, and possibilistic memberships. We analyze our mapping with three common classifiers: Naive Bayes classifier (NB); K-nearest neighbor classifier (KNN); and support vector machines (SVM). The proposed algorithms are evaluated using large datasets that simulate medical crises. We show that the proposed soft bag-of-words feature representation approach achieves a significant improvement when compared to the state-of-art methods.
China’s Missing Girls in the Three Decades from 1980 to 2010

The strictly implemented fertility policy that has been in force in China since 1980 has led to a continuously increasing sex ratio at birth and in turn to a large number of missing girls. Based on China’s four recent censuses, we find that the number of missing girls accounted for 2.93 percent of all girls expected to have been born during 1980 to 1989, 9.31 percent during 1990 to 1999, and 10.85 percent during 2000 to 2010. The 1980?2010 birth cohorts have 20 million missing girls, namely 7.34 percent. For cohorts born from 1980 to 2010, males outnumber females by 36 million at the census times, 20 million as a result of the phenomenon of missing girls, while the remaining 16 million is biologically determined, as there are about 5 percent more male births under normal sex ratio at birth. We discuss possible adjustment of the fertility policy in China and measures that might lead to a more normal sex ratio at birth.
A Rotating Flux Pump Employing a Magnetic Circuit and a Stabilized Coated Conductor HTS Stator

High temperature superconductor (HTS) magnet systems usually employ metal current leads which bridge between the cryogenic environment and room temperature. Such current leads are the dominant heat load for these magnet systems due to a combination of electrical resistance and heat conduction. HTS flux pumps enable large currents to be injected into a HTS magnet circuit without this heat load. We present results from an axialtype HTS mechanically rotating flux pump which employs a ferromagnetic circuit and a Cu-stabilized coated conductor (CC) HTS stator. We show the device can be described by a simple circuit model which was previously used to describe barrel-type flux pumps, where the model comprises an internal resistance due to dynamic resistance and a DC voltage source. Unlike previously reported devices, we show the internal resistance and DC voltage in the flux pump are not exactly proportional to frequency, and we ascribe this to the presence of eddy currents. We also show that this axial-type flux pump has superior current injection capability over barrel-type flux pumps which do not incorporate a magnetic circuit.

Purpose: This study aimed to know whether there is a comparison of food video watching, life stress, food addiction symptom for female college students. Methods: A quantitative research is used. A total of 162 people were performed with questionnaire which was conducted from September 16, 2019 to October 2, 2019. The study sample was female college students of one university in Seoul. This study used general characteristics, life stress tool, and food addiction symptoms tool as a research tool. In dependent T-test, ANOVA, and pearson’s correlation was used for this study. Result: The food video watching time and the food addiction symptoms showed a significant positive of correlation (r=.230, p=.003). Also, life stress and food addiction symptoms were significantly correlated (r=.329, p<.001). However, food video watching time and life stress did not show statistically significant correlation (r=.062, p=.430). Conclusion: Based on the study results, food video watching time and life stress are highly correlated with food addiction symptoms. The findings of this study could be the basis for later research on nursing intervention in the life stress and food addiction symptoms among female college students.
