        Clinical Features and Predictors of Dysplasia in Proximal Sessile Serrated Lesions

        Background/Aims: Proximal colorectal cancers (CRCs) account for up to half of CRCs. Sessile serrated lesions (SSLs) are precursorsto CRC. Proximal location and presence of dysplasia in SSLs predict higher risks of progression to cancer. The prevalence of dysplasiain proximal SSLs (pSSLs) and clinical characteristics of dysplastic pSSLs are not well studied. Methods: Endoscopically resected colonic polyps at our center between January 2016 and December 2017 were screened for pSSLs. Data of patients with at least one pSSL were retrieved and clinicopathological features of pSSLs were analysed. pSSLs with andwithout dysplasia were compared for associations. Results: Ninety pSSLs were identified, 45 of which had dysplasia giving a prevalence of 50.0%. Older age (65.9 years vs. 60.1 years,p=0.034) was associated with the presence of dysplasia. Twelve pSSLs were 10 mm or larger. After adjusting for age, pSSLs ≥10 mmhad an adjusted odds ratio of 5.98 (95% confidence interval, 1.21–29.6) of having dysplasia compared with smaller pSSLs. Conclusions: In our cohort of pSSLs, the prevalence of dysplasia is high at 50.0% and is associated with lesion size ≥10 mm. Endoscopic resection for all proximal serrated lesions should be en-bloc to facilitate accurate histopathological examination fordysplasia as its presence warrants shorter surveillance intervals.

        The proper width of the intermittent trough for tunnel enlarging

        As the traffic increased, the original capacity of the tunnel has been unable to meet the needs, so it must be expanded. Based on the features of tunnel, the intermittent trough method must be supposed for tunnel enlarging. Under the situation on the buried deep of the tunnel, it could be used the reasonable arch axis model to descript the past covered rock pressure for mechanism calculating of self-bearing arch. Then establish the three-arch combination effectible model for the analysis which is relied on the tunneling enlarging to Chongqing Yu-Zhou tunnel. It has determined the proper width for the intermittent trough in shallow buried tunnel enlarging.

        A predicting model for thermal conductivity of high permeability-high strength concrete materials

        The high permeability-high strength concrete belongs to the typical of porous materials. It is mainly used in underground engineering for cold area, it can act the role of heat preservation, also to be the bailing and buffer layer. In order to establish a suitable model to predict the thermal conductivity and directly applied for engineering, according to the structure characteristics, the thermal conductivity predicting model was built by resistance network model of parallel three-phase medium. For the selected geometric and physical cell model, the thermal conductivity forecast model can be set up with aggregate particle size and mixture ratio directly. Comparing with the experimental data and classic model, the prediction model could reflect the mixture ratio intuitively. When the experimental and calculating data are contrasted, the value of experiment is slightly higher than predicting, and the average relative error is about 6.6%. If the material can be used in underground engineering instead by the commonly insulation material, it can achieve the basic requirements to be the heat insulation material as well.

        Systematic review: total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in patients with pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS)

        Background: To determine the functional outcomes, complications and revision rates following total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in patients with pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS). Materials and methods: We conducted a systematic review of the literature. Five studies with a total of 552 TKAs were included for analysis. The methodological quality of the articles was evaluated using the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (STROBE) scale. Functional outcomes, complications and revision rates were assessed. The mean age was 61 years (range 33-94 years) and the mean follow-up period was 61.1 months (range 0.2-35 years). Results: All the studies reported improvement in knee function following TKA. Post-operative stiffness was the most frequently reported complication, affecting 32.7% (n = 32) of patients in our review. Symptomatic recurrence of PVNS, component loosening, tibial-component fracture, instability and periprosthetic infection were the main factors leading to the need for revision TKA. Conclusion: The findings of this review support the use of TKA to alleviate the functional limitations and pain due to knee degeneration in patients with PVNS. The operating surgeon should be aware of the increased risk of postoperative stiffness, as well as a potentially higher risk of infection. Implant survival should also be considered inferior to the one expected for the general population undergoing TKA.

        US Economic Sanctions Against China: A Cultural Explanation of Sanction Effectiveness

        Recent patterns suggest that states are using economic sanctions more frequently. However, sanctions fail to achieve intended political or economic goals most of the time. To account for this anomaly, I introduce a culture-based explanation. The rationale is that sanction effectiveness cannot be solely judged by norms and standards of sender countries. Target countries` cultural norms play an important role in explaining sanction effectiveness. Using cases of US economic sanctions against China, I show that the norms and beliefs of target countries play an important role in defining sanction effectiveness. The implication of the study is that senders of economic sanctions must take cultural responses and sensitivity of targets into serious consideration in order to deploy credible and successful economic sanctions as a foreign policy tool.

        Effect of Laser-derived Surface Re-melting of YSZ Electrolyte on Performance of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

        A simple and effective technique to reduce the overall fuel cell polarization resistance was introduced on a conventionally sintered YSZ electrolyte by creating a hybrid microstructure using low-intensity CO2 laser scanning methods. After laser modification of the YSZ electrolyte surface on the cathode side, the overall polarization resistance was reduced from 513 to 124 Ω cm2, and the maximum power density was increased by 28% from 1.86 to 2.38 mW/cm2 at 450 °C. This improvement was due to the enhanced surface kinetics by higher grain boundary density on the YSZ surface from recrystallization after laser scanning.

        Zero-Correlation Linear Cryptanalysis of Reduced Round ARIA with Partial-sum and FFT

        Block cipher ARIA was first proposed by some South Korean experts in 2003, and later, it was established as a Korean Standard block cipher algorithm by Korean Agency for Technology and Standards. In this paper, we focus on the security evaluation of ARIA block cipher against the recent zero-correlation linear cryptanalysis. In addition, Partial-sum technique and FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) technique are used to speed up the cryptanalysis, respectively. We first introduce some 4-round linear approximations of ARIA with zero-correlation, and then present some key-recovery attacks on 6/7-round ARIA-128/256 with the Partial-sum technique and FFT technique. The key-recovery attack with Partial-sum technique on 6-round ARIA-128 needs 2<sup>123.6</sup> known plaintexts (KPs), 2<sup>121</sup>encryptions and 2<sup>90.3</sup> bytes memory, and the attack with FFT technique requires 2<sup>124.1</sup>KPs, 2<sup>121.5</sup> encryptions and 2<sup>90.3</sup> bytes memory. Moreover, applying Partial-sum technique, we can attack 7-round ARIA-256 with 2<sup>124.6</sup>KPs, 2<sup>203.5</sup> encryptions and 2<sup>152</sup> bytes memory and 7-round ARIA-256 employing FFT technique, requires 2<sup>124.7</sup>KPs, 2<sup>209.5</sup> encryptions and 2<sup>152</sup> bytes memory . Our results are the first zero-correlation linear cryptanalysis results on ARIA.

        Performance Prediction of TBM Disc Cutting on Marble Rock under Different Load Cases

        A series of disc cutting tests was conducted with a single disc cutter (216 mm diameter) and a single rock type (a marble) byapplying different loads. Normal, rolling and side forces were measured for a series of spacings and penetrations, from which othercutting parameters also were calculated. The rock chips and fines were carefully collected and analyzed. Specific Energy (SE)considerations indicate that the optimum cutting condition is existed with the ratio of S/P between 9 and 12 when applying the staticloading. However, when the combination of static and impact loading is applied, the optimum cutting conditions was estimated withthe ratio of S/P between 16 and 19. It shows that the optimal spaces become larger after adding the combination of static and impactloading. The relationship between rolling force and normal force is close and consistent: whether applying the static loading or thecombination of static and impact loading, a nearly linear rise of the ratio of rolling force to normal force with increased penetration,and, conversely, a nearly unchanged ratio with increases in spacing. The grain size distribution curves show that larger chip size andlesser fines are produced when applying the combination of static and impact loading and the degree of crushing size tends to beuniform distribution.

        Multidimensional Differential-Linear Cryptanalysis of ARIA Block Cipher

        ARIA is a 128-bit block cipher that has been selected as a Korean encryption standard. Similar to AES, it is robust against differential cryptanalysis and linear cryptanalysis. In this study, we analyze the security of ARIA against differential-linear cryptanalysis. We present five rounds of differential-linear distinguishers for ARIA, which can distinguish five rounds of ARIA from random permutations using only 284.8 chosen plaintexts. Moreover, we develop differential-linear attacks based on six rounds of ARIA-128 and seven rounds of ARIA-256. This is the first multidimensional differential-linear cryptanalysis of ARIA and it has lower data complexity than all previous results. This is a preliminary study and further research may obtain better results in the future.

        Causal Relations between Exposome and Stroke: A Mendelian Randomization Study

        Background and Purpose To explore the causal relationships of elements of the exposome with ischemic stroke and its subtypes at the omics level and to provide evidence for stroke prevention. Methods We conducted a Mendelian randomization study between exposure and any ischemic stroke (AIS) and its subtypes (large-artery atherosclerotic disease [LAD], cardioembolic stroke [CE], and small vessel disease [SVD]). The exposure dataset was the UK Biobank involving 361,194 subjects, and the outcome dataset was the MEGASTROKE consortium including 52,000 participants. Results We found that higher blood pressure (BP) (systolic BP: odds ratio [OR], 1.02; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.01 to 1.04; diastolic BP: OR, 1.03; 95% CI, 1.01 to 1.05; pulse pressure: OR, 1.03; 95% CI, 1.00 to 1.06), atrial fibrillation (OR, 1.18; 95% CI, 1.13 to 1.25), and diabetes (OR, 1.13; 95% CI, 1.07 to 1.18) were significantly associated with ischemic stroke. Importantly, higher education (OR, 0.69; 95% CI, 0.60 to 0.79) decreased the risk of ischemic stroke. Higher systolic BP (OR, 1.06; 95% CI, 1.02 to 1.10), pulse pressure (OR, 1.08; 95% CI, 1.02 to 1.14), diabetes (OR, 1.28; 95% CI, 1.13 to 1.45), and coronary artery disease (OR, 1.58; 95% CI, 1.25 to 2.00) could cause LAD. Atrial fibrillation could cause CE (OR, 1.90; 95% CI, 1.71 to 2.11). For SVD, higher systolic BP (OR, 1.04; 95% CI, 1.00 to 1.07), diastolic BP (OR, 1.06; 95% CI, 1.01 to 1.12), and diabetes (OR, 1.22; 95% CI, 1.10 to 1.36) were causal factors. Conclusions The study revealed elements of the exposome causally linked to ischemic stroke and its subtypes, including conventional causal risk factors and novel protective factors such as higher education.
