      • President XI Jinping Vision of International Relation

Shakeel Ahmad Ramay(Shakeel Ahmad Ramay ) 아시아사회과학학회 2022 Jornal of Asia Social Science Vol.8 No.1

It is believed that President Xi’s thoughts and vision of international relation is outcome of his learning from Chinese civilization, wisdom, and communist ideology, but with a touch of western literature. It is less known fact that President Xi is vivid reader not only Chinese literature but also of international literature. For example, once President mentioned that he read Krylov, Pushkin, Gogol, Lermontov, Turgenev, Dostoyevsky, Nekrasov, Chernyshevsky, Tolstoy, Chekhov, and Sholokhov. Montesquieu, Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot, Saint-Simon, Fourier, Sartre, and twelve others. Therefore, his vision of international relation is balanced and based on the reality. Besides, President Xi does not present anything, which he cannot substantiate by actions, same is true for his vision on international relations. This article argues that China under the leadership of President Xi has adopted a smart, aggressive, and wise policy of international relations. It shows that China has become pro-active, assertive and is not in mood to tolerate any unjust act. China is ready to lead the world by sticking to core values of humanity and socialism with Chinese characteristics. The ultimate objective would be to transform world into a community with shared future.

      • Diplomacy Through Shared Prosperity

Shakeel Ahmad Ramay 아시아사회과학학회 2022 Jornal of Asia Social Science Vol.8 No.2

Chinese philosophy of international is different from the western philosophy. It put relationship at core not interest. China believes sharing prosperity would be key element of enhance international linkages and influence. It avoids interfering in internal affairs of other countries. In the pursuance of this objective, China has devised tool to share dividend of its development, which China achieved after the hard work of 4 four decades. There is no secret that China developed by adopting a stepwise approach, which can be best understood by studying by understanding the three principal contradictions given by Chairman Mao, Deng Xiaoping and President Xi Jinping. China’s international relation vision revolves around the core values of “development, security, national sovereignty and territorial integrity”. China has developed these core values by learning from the past. Besides, China believes in actions not talking. Thus, President Xi has launched many initiatives to share the prosperity including Belt and Road Initiative, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank etc. In this context, Pakistan being the old friend and iron brother should devise policies, which can help to extract benefits from these initiatives.

Exploring COVID-19 incidence hotspot in Metropolitan area of Pakistan using geo-statistical approach: a study of Lahore city

Shakeel Mahmood 대한공간정보학회 2022 Spatial Information Research Vol.30 No.4

Globally, COVID-19 is a top level public health concern. This paper is an attempt to identify and assess COVID-19 incidence hotspots in Metropolitan area of Pakistan using geo-statistical approach. The study is based on secondary data. The COVID-19 confirmed cases record (15/03/2020 to 15/04/2020) of entire Metropolitan area is obtained from hospitals and National Institute of Health website. Point-level geo-coding technique was applied on patient’s record and the relative location was converted into absolute location. Getis-Ord Gi* statistical model was applied in ArcGIS 10.3 to calculate Z-score and P values for each point location representing the COVID-19 incidence intensity. Then inverse distance weighted technique of spatial interpolation was applied on Z-score and spatial clusters of crime were geo-visualized in the form hotspot and cold spot. Spatially, more than 50% of land area of Allama Iqbal, Samanabad, Gulburg and Cantonment is covered by very high incidence zone which is surrounded by high incidence zone whereas Ravi, Shalimar, and north of Wagha and Aziz Bhatti towns are located in very low incidence zone. This study provides a suitable methodological framework for identification and analysis infectious disease hotspots. The study can also facilitate health and related authorities to fight war against COVID-19. Similarly, it can help policy makers to manage the movement of travelers and restrict social interaction.

      • Association of SYK Genetic Variations with Breast Cancer Pathogenesis

Shakeel, Shafaq,Mahjabeen, Ishrat,Kayani, Mahmood Akhtar,Faryal, Rani Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2013 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.14 No.5

Spleen tyrosine kinase (SYK) is a non-receptor type cytoplasmic protein and a known tumor suppressor gene in breast cancer. Polymorphisms in SYK have been reported to be associated with cell invasion/cell morality and an increased risk of cancer development. In this case control study, all exons of the SYK gene and its exon/ intron boundaries were amplified in 200 breast cancer cases and 100 matched controls and then analyzed by single stranded conformational polymorphism. Amplified products showing altered mobility patterns were sequenced and analyzed. Twelve variations were identified in exonic and intronic regions of DNA encoding SH2 domain and kinase domain of the SYK gene. All of these mutations are novel. Among them, 5 missense mutations were observed in exon 15 while one missense mutation was found in exon 8. In addition to these mutations, six mutations were also identified in intronic regions. We found a significant association between SYK mutations and breast cancer and observed that Glu241Arg, a missense mutation is associated with an increase risk of ~7 fold (OR=6.7, 95% CI=1.54-28.8), Thr581Pro (missense mutation) is associated with increased risk of ~16 fold (OR=15.5, 95%CI=2.07-115.45) and 63367 T>G (missense mutation) is associated with increased risk of ~13 fold (OR=12.8, 95%CI=1.71-96.71) for breast cancer. Significant associations were observed for each of these variations with both late menopause (p<0.01) and early menarche (p<0.005) cases when compared to controls. Our findings suggest that the polymorphic gene SYK may contribute to the development of breast cancer in at least the Pakistani population. This study provides an insight view of SYK which may provide a significant finding for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.

      • INDIA : PAKISTAN Sports as a Tool For Peace (Cricket Diplomacy)

Shakeel Ahmad Shahid 한국코칭능력개발원 2015 International Journal of Coaching Science Vol.9 No.1

The purpose of this paper is to describe and analyze the role of sport specially Cricket for the development of Peace between India and Pakistan. After the partition of both countries the most problem for the peace is Kashmir which is the occupied area by India. Further aims are to show the importance for the Pakistanis and Indian and the importance and meaning of this sport in historical periods. The game of Cricket can be played in Three ways: one is One day international ODI and the other two are T.20 including Test Cricket with two teams consisting 11 Players of each team. Cricket diplomacy in the subcontinent is nothing new. Pakistan"s President General Zia was the first to use it when he made a sudden visit to India in the mid-1980s to watch an India-Pakistan game and ease tensions arising from a military exercise by India along the Pakistan border. He also met Indian PM Rajiv Gandhi informally in an attempt to defuse the tension. But whether Mr Singh"s diplomacy will lead to any significant thaw in relations or lead to a resumption of bilateral cricket ties is a moot question.

Cavity and Interface effect of PI-Film on Charge Accumulation and PD Activity under Bipolar Pulse Voltage

        Shakeel Akram,Guangning Wu,GuoQiang Gao,Yang Liu 대한전기학회 2015 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.10 No.5

With the continuous development in insulation of electrical equipment design, the reliability of the system has been enhanced. However, in the manufacturing process and during operation under continues stresses introduce local defects, such as voids between interfaces that can responsible to occurrence of partial discharge (PD), electric field distortion and accumulation of charges. These defects may lead to localize corrosion and material degradation of insulation system, and a serious threat to the equipment. A model of three layers of PI film with air gap is presented to understand the influence of interface and voids on exploitation conditions such as strong electrical field, PD activity and charge movement. The analytical analysis, and experimental results are good agreement and show that the lose contact between interfaces accumulate more residual charges and in consequences increase the electric field intensity and accelerates internal discharges. These residual charges are trapped charges, injected by the electrodes has often same polarity, so the electric field in cavities increases significantly and thus partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV) decreases. Contrary, number of PD discharge quantity increases due to interface. Interfacial polarization effect has opposite impact on electric field and PDIV as compare to void.

Use of Covered Stents to Treat Coarctation of the Aorta

Shakeel Ahmed Qureshi 대한심장학회 2009 Korean Circulation Journal Vol.39 No.7

Transcatheter treatments for coarctation of the aorta include balloon angioplasty and stent implantation. However, balloon angioplasty has its limitations and may be associated with complications, such as, recoarctation, dissection, and aneurysm formation, in adult patients. Bare metal stent implantation has offered an alternative during the last decade or so, but covered stents have been used with increasing frequency more recently, to the extent that covered stent implantation is the preferred treatment in correctly selected patients. Primary stent insertion, whether bare metal or covered, prevents elastic recoil of the aorta and may provide better and more predictable results than balloon angioplasty. Furthermore, stents are preferable for the treatment of complex aortic arch obstructions, but their usage is limited to older patients, because of limitations associated with growth. Development of highly efficient solid acid catalysts supported on mesoporous KIT-6 for esterification of oleic acid

        Usama Shakeel,Murid Hussain,Rizwan Sheikh,Ashfaq Ahmed,Muhammad Shahid Nazir,Wenshu Yang,Nasir Shezad,Parveen Akhter,박영권 한국화학공학회 2021 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.38 No.5

This study aimed at the synthesis of heterogeneous acid catalysts by incorporating 12 tungstophosphoric acid (HPW) over mesoporous silica support KIT-6 via impregnation and sol-gel methods to improve the catalytic efficiency of the esterification reaction. The catalytic activity of the KIT-6 supported catalysts was investigated for esterification of oleic acid in the presence of MeOH. Synthesized catalysts were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy techniques. Characterization results showed the variation in porosity, roughness, presence of SiO2 and kegging structure after successful deposition of HPW over KIT-6 surface. Additionally, the textural property of synthesized catalysts was compared with highly active HPW and sulfated KIT-6. The ordered structure of mesoporous silica KIT-6 facilitated the dispersion of HPW resulting in better catalytic stability and activity. To evaluate the impact of synthesizing technique on catalytic activity and effectiveness of heterogeneous acid catalysts, loading of HPW over KIT-6 mesoporous silica was controlled between 10 to 30 wt%. Catalysts synthesized by impregnation and sol-gel methods showed the highest catalytic activity with 30- IM and 25-SG, respectively. The enhanced performance was ascribed to the improved textural property and amount of HPW, which led to higher activity, stability and reusability
