        Use of Covered Stents to Treat Coarctation of the Aorta

        Transcatheter treatments for coarctation of the aorta include balloon angioplasty and stent implantation. However, balloon angioplasty has its limitations and may be associated with complications, such as, recoarctation, dissection, and aneurysm formation, in adult patients. Bare metal stent implantation has offered an alternative during the last decade or so, but covered stents have been used with increasing frequency more recently, to the extent that covered stent implantation is the preferred treatment in correctly selected patients. Primary stent insertion, whether bare metal or covered, prevents elastic recoil of the aorta and may provide better and more predictable results than balloon angioplasty. Furthermore, stents are preferable for the treatment of complex aortic arch obstructions, but their usage is limited to older patients, because of limitations associated with growth.         Multiresponse optimization of cryogenic drilling on Ti-6Al-4V alloy using topsis method

        Multiresponse optimization of process parameters in drilling is focused in this article using the TOPSIS technique to obtain minimum cutting temperature (T), thrust force (F t ), torque (M t ) and surface roughness (R a ), Circularity (Cir), Cylindricity (Cyl). The experiments were performed on Titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V in different cooling environments: Wet cooling and cryogenic cooling conditions. Liquid nitrogen (LN 2 ) as a coolant is used in cryogenic machining. The control factors selected were machining environments, cutting speed (V c ) and feed rate (f). Eighteen experiments were conducted in wet and cryogenic LN 2 conditions based on L 18 orthogonal array, respectively. The optimization results indicate drilling at V c = 40 m/min and f = 0.02 mm/rev which is of the lowest value in cryogenic LN 2condition. A better performance is achieved too. The optimum multiresponses show that TOPSIS method is the most effective performance in the drilling process.

        Development of highly efficient solid acid catalysts supported on mesoporous KIT-6 for esterification of oleic acid

        This study aimed at the synthesis of heterogeneous acid catalysts by incorporating 12 tungstophosphoric acid (HPW) over mesoporous silica support KIT-6 via impregnation and sol-gel methods to improve the catalytic efficiency of the esterification reaction. The catalytic activity of the KIT-6 supported catalysts was investigated for esterification of oleic acid in the presence of MeOH. Synthesized catalysts were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy techniques. Characterization results showed the variation in porosity, roughness, presence of SiO2 and kegging structure after successful deposition of HPW over KIT-6 surface. Additionally, the textural property of synthesized catalysts was compared with highly active HPW and sulfated KIT-6. The ordered structure of mesoporous silica KIT-6 facilitated the dispersion of HPW resulting in better catalytic stability and activity. To evaluate the impact of synthesizing technique on catalytic activity and effectiveness of heterogeneous acid catalysts, loading of HPW over KIT-6 mesoporous silica was controlled between 10 to 30 wt%. Catalysts synthesized by impregnation and sol-gel methods showed the highest catalytic activity with 30- IM and 25-SG, respectively. The enhanced performance was ascribed to the improved textural property and amount of HPW, which led to higher activity, stability and reusability

        Hybrid Indoor Position Estimation using K-NN and MinMax

        Due to the rapid advancement in smart phones, numerous new specifications are developed for variety of applications ranging from health monitoring to navigations and tracking. The word indoor navigation means location identification, however, where GPS signals are not available, accurate indoor localization is a challenging task due to variation in the received signals which directly affect distance estimation process. This paper proposes a hybrid approach which integrates fingerprinting based K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) and lateration based MinMax position estimation technique. The novel idea behind this hybrid approach is to use Euclidian distance formulation for distance estimates instead of indoor radio channel modeling which is used to convert the received signal to distance estimates. Due to unpredictable behavior of the received signal, modeling indoor environment for distance estimates is a challenging task which ultimately results in distance estimation error and hence affects position estimation process. Our proposed idea is indoor position estimation technique using Bluetooth enabled smart phones which is independent of the radio channels. Experimental results conclude that, our proposed hybrid approach performs better in terms of mean error compared to Trilateration, MinMax, K-NN, and existing Hybrid approach.

        Worldwide organizations use the benefits offered by Cloud Computing (CC) to store data, software and programs. While running hugely complicated and sophisticated software on cloud requires more energy that causes global warming and affects environment. Most of the time energy consumption is wasted and it is required to explore opportunities to reduce emission of carbon in CC environment to save energy. Many improvements can be done in regard to energy efficiency from the software perspective by considering and paying attention on the energy consumption aspects of software's that run on cloud infrastructure. The aim of the current research is to propose a framework with an additional phase called parameterized development phase to be incorporated along with the traditional Software Development Life cycle (SDLC) where the developers need to consider the suggested techniques during software implementation to utilize low energy for running software on the cloud and contribute in green computing. Experiments have been carried out and the results prove that the suggested techniques and methods has enabled in achieving energy consumption.

        In this paper, we consider a variational inclusion problem involving XOR-operation with its resolvent equation problem involving XOR-operation. We suggest separate iterative algorithms for solving both the problems. The existence and convergence results are proved for variational inclusion problem and for corresponding resolvent equation problem in ordered Hilbert spaces. We claim that results of this paper are new and refinement of previously known results.

        Advanced oxidation processes using UV and catalysts like $TiO_2$ and ZnO have been recently applied for the photocatalytic degradation of MTBE in water. Attempts have been made to replace the UV radiation by the solar spectrum. This review intends to shed more light on the work that has been done so far in this area of research. The information provided will help in crystallizing the ideas required to shift the trend from UV photocatalysis to sunlight photocatalysis. The careful optimization of the reaction parameters and the type of the dopant employed are greatly responsible for any enhancement in the degradation process. The advantage of shifting from UV photocatalysts to visible light photocatalysts can be observed when catalysts like $TiO_2$ and ZnO are doped with suitable metals. Therefore, it is expected that in the near future, the visible light photocatalysis will be the main technique applied for the remediation of water contaminated with MTBE.

        Predicting Groundwater Level Using the Soft Computing Tool: An Approach for Precision Enhancement

        Monitoring a non-linear phenomenon—such as the groundwater levels in an aquifer—by cost-effective techniques is quite a difficult task. To overcome these limitations, soft computing tools are increasingly being used to predict groundwater levels with high accuracy. In the present study, a soft computing tool called support vector machine (SVM) was employed for predicting the groundwater levels jointly using weather parameters, at Maheshwaram watershed, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. The accuracy of this approach was established based on statistical tools termed the regression coefficient, root mean square error, Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient, and error variation. For performance evaluation, the model outputs were compared with traditional statistical multiple regression (SMR) model outputs, and it was found that the SVR method offers better prediction than does SMR.
