        Transcriptional response of Methoprene-tolerant (Met) gene to three insect growth disruptors in Leptinotarsa decemlineata (Say)

        Some insect growth disruptors (IGDs), such as pyriproxyfen and halofenozide, may be used to control Leptinotarsa decemlineata. However, their mechanism of action remains elusive. Methoprene-tolerant (Met) mediates juvenile hormone (JH) signal to control numerous essential physiological processes. In the present paper, we identified a Met gene (LdMet). LdMet protein was a typical basic helix-loop-helix/Per-Arnt-Sim (bHLHPAS) transcription factor with a bHLH domain, two PAS domains (PAS-A and PAS-B) and a region called PAS associated C terminal (PAC). Eight conserved amino acids critical for JH binding were located in PAS-B and PAC domains. The temporal expression pattern of LdMet was in accordance with the variation of circulating JH titers. Feeding of juvenoid methoprene or pyriproxyfen, or provide for JH dose-dependently stimulated the expression of LdMet. RNA interference-mediated knockdown of two JH degradation genes increased the transcription of LdMet, while silencing of a JH biosynthesis gene repressed the transcription. Conversely, ingestion of an ecdysteroid agonist halofenozide or 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E) reduced the mRNA levels of LdMet, in a dosedependent manner, whereas knockdown of either ecdysteroidogenesis or 20E signaling genes increased the mRNA accumulation. Providing that the expression of LdMet can be disturbed by methoprene, pyriproxyfen and halofenozide, LdMet may be a potential target of these IGDs in L. decemlineata larvae.

        Seroprevalence of Encephalitozoon cuniculi and Toxoplasma gondii in domestic rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in China

        The breeding of domestic rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) for human consumption has a long tradition in China. Infections that can affect the production of meat or even be transmitted from animals to humans are important to monitor, especially for public health reasons as well as for their impact on animal health. Thus, a total of 1,132 domestic rabbit sera from 4 regions in China were collected for serological screening for Encephalitozoon cuniculi and for Toxoplasma gondii by ELISA and modified agglutination test (MAT), respectively. Antibodies to E. cuniculi were detected in 248/1,132 (21.9%) sera tested while antibodies against T. gondii revealed a seroprevalence of 51/1,132 (4.5%). We believe that the present results are of epidemiological implications and public health importance due to the acknowledged susceptibility of humans to E. cuniculi and T. gondii infections. Therefore, routine screening tests of domestic rabbits are proposed considering the zoonotic potential of these parasites.

        소비자 웨딩드레스 구매 선호 및 영향 요인 분석 : 중국 광저우를 중심으로

        웨딩드레스 시장이 계속적으로 발전하고 보완된 데는 소비자가 중요한 역할을 했다. 웨딩산업이 해외시장으로 진출하기 위해서는 현지 문화 및 소비자에 대한 심층적인 이해가 필요하다. 본 논문은 웨딩드레스 소비자의 구매 선호도가 웨딩산업에 추진 역할을 연구하고, 중국 광저우(广州) 지역의 웨딩 소비자들을 대상으로 웨딩드레스 제품 디자인, 과시적 소비심리, 구매 경험 및 웨딩드레스 제품 지식 등 4가지 핵심 요인과 지각된 위험, 지각된 가치, 웨딩 구매 선호와의 상관관계를 제시한다. 또한 관련 이론 문헌을 열람하고 이와 관련된 가설을 제시하고, 설문지 내용을 설계한다. 설문조사를 통해 229건의 데이터를 수집하고, SPSS 23.0을 활용해 요인 분석, 경로 분석, 신뢰도 분석, 카이제곱검정을 실시해 결과를 도출한다. 결과에 따르면, 웨딩드레스 소비자들은 제품 설명, 과시 심리, 구매 경험, 제품 지식이 많을수록 웨딩드레스 구매에 대한 지각된 위험이 작아지고 웨딩드레스 구매에 대한 지각된 가치가 커지는 것으로 나타났다. 과시 심리는 소비자의 구매 선호의 중요한 영향 요인이며, 미를 추구하는 것은 소비자의 구매 선호의 중요한 심리이다. 다른 조건이 변하지 않는 상황에서 웨딩드레스 소비자의 구매 선호는 제품 설명, 과시 심리, 제품 지식의 영향이 비교적 크다. 구매 경험은 웨딩드레스 소비자의 구매 선호에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는다. 이것을 바탕으로 본 연구는 웨딩산업이 중국 시장으로 진출하여 발전할 수 있도록 시장 데이터로 뒷받침하고 상응하는 웨딩드레스 디자인 전략을 제시했다. In the continuous development and improvement of the bridal market, consumers have played an important role in it. The bridal industry to enter overseas markets requires a thorough understanding of local culture and local consumers. This article studies the promotion of wedding dress consumers’ buying preferences on the wedding industry, and takes wedding dress consumers in Guangzhou, China as the research object, and proposes four key influencing factors and recognition of wedding dress product design, conspicuous consumer psychology, purchasing experience, and wedding dress product knowledge. Understand the relationship between risk, cognitive value, and wedding dress purchase preferences, and put forward relevant hypotheses by reading relevant theoretical literature, and design the content of the questionnaire. 229 pieces of data were collected through questionnaire surveys, and factor analysis, path analysis, reliability and validity analysis, and chi-square test were carried out using SPSS 23.0, and corresponding conclusions were drawn. The results show that the more wedding consumers understand about product descriptions, show-off psychology, purchase experience, and product knowledge, the less consumers will have a cognitive risk of wedding dress purchases, and the greater the cognitive value of wedding dress purchases; show-off psychology is consumption An important influencing factor of consumers’ purchasing preferences. The pursuit of beauty is an important psychology of consumers’ purchasing preferences. Under other conditions, the purchasing preferences of wedding dress consumers are greatly affected by product descriptions, show-off psychology, and product knowledge; purchasing experience There is no obvious influence on the purchase preference of wedding dress consumers. On this basis, this research provides certain market data support and corresponding wedding design strategies for the development of the wedding dress industry in the Chinese market.

        Effect of Exogenous Nitric Oxide on Vegetative and Reproductive Growth of Oriental Lily ‘Siberia’

        Recent studies have shown that nitric oxide (NO) may be involved in diverse plant developmental processes as an important signal molecule. However, the effects of NO on vegetative and reproductive growth of intact plants are not fully understood. In our study, the NO donor sodium nitroprusside (SNP) at 3,000, 6,000 and 9,000 μM was used to characterize the roles of NO in vegetative and reproductive growth of “Siberia” lily. The results showed that the effects of NO on growth in “Siberia” lily were dose-dependent. Compared with the control (distilled water treatment), 3,000 μM SNP caused a significant increase in plant height and internode length. Significant differences were recorded in flowering period, lifetime of individual flowers, number of flowers per plant, flower diameter, and bud length with 6,000 μM SNP. However, 9,000 μM SNP resulted in negative effects on these parameters as compared to the control. Moreover, 3,000 μM SNP caused a significant increase in the contents of leaf chlorophyll, water soluble carbohydrate (WSC), starch, total carbohydrate, total soluble protein, and total nitrogen, all of which were decreased by high levels of SNP (9,000 μM). Together, these results indicated that NO treatments at the proper dosage can promote vegetative and reproductive growth, possibly by improving the levels of leaf chlorophyll, WSC, starch, total carbohydrate, total soluble protein and total nitrogen.

        Influencing Factors Analysis of Degradation and Damage and the Effect on Steel Frame

        In order to discuss the influencing factors of damage and degradation and the effect on steel frame subject to strongearthquakes, firstly, a constitutive model was proposed for 3D finite element models to calculate the seismic behaviors of steelframe more accurately. The model was proved correct and applicable due to typical quasi-static tests. Then, based on theverified model, the damage and degradation factors were discussed by parametric analyses, including the panel zone, loadinghistory, loading amplitude, the width to thickness ratio and yield strength. The cumulative damage phenomena of steel frameconnections were further studied and the degradation distribution curve was obtained. Finally, the traditional beam elementmodel and proposed shell element model of structure were established by ABAQUS for time history analysis. The effect ofdamage and degradation on seismic behaviors of steel frames were compared and discussed. The tests and analysis resultsrevealed that: panel zone strength, loading amplitude and width-thickness ratios of plates had significant impact on damage anddegradation behaviors and failure modes of connections. Premature weld cracking would lead to earlier damage and degradationunder “strong to weak” earthquake, which would seriously affect the overall mechanical properties of the structure. Once localbuckling caused damage, the results of the beam element model and accurate shell element model were remarkably different. Beam element model without considering damage and degradation underestimated the structural deformations, which shouldbe paid more attention for design safety.

        Comparative Analysis on Antioxidative Ability of Muscle between Laiwu Pig and Large White

        This study was conducted to evaluate effects of storage temperatures ($4^{\circ}C$ and $20^{\circ}C$) and pig breeds (Laiwu pig and Large White pig) on the main antioxidative enzymes (superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase) activity and lipid oxidation in porcine Longissimus dorsi muscle. Activities of antioxidative enzymes (AOE) decreased slightly during storage, regardless of storage temperatures. Muscle antioxidative enzymes activities stored at $4^{\circ}C$ were higher than that stored at $20^{\circ}C$. Laiwu pig's enzymes activities were significantly (p<0.01) higher than Large White's. The level of malondialdehyde is a direct expression of the grade of lipid oxidation in meat. In our study, the malondialdehyde contents increased after 6 days storage. However, malondialdehyde contents of Laiwu pig were significantly (p<0.01) lower than Large White's. A lower content of malondialdehyde corresponds to a lower oxidation of lipids. These results indicated the muscle antioxidative ability of Laiwu pig was higher than Large White pig. It also implied that antioxidative enzymes were involved in the essentials and deciding mechanisms of meat quality by quenching oxygen free radicals and inhibiting lipid oxidation in muscle.

        A hemoglobin-based oxygen-carrying biomimetic nanosystem for enhanced chemo-phototherapy and hypoxia alleviation of hepatocellular carcinoma

        Tumor microenvironment is characterized by low pH, high reactive oxygen species and hypoxia, whichprovides a suitable environment for cancer growth. The hypoxia not only elevates tumor angiogenesisand metastasis, but also is responsible for the development of treatment resistance, which graduallybecomes a significant impediment for cancer therapy. Therefore, we developed a biomimetic nanosystemcontaining hemoglobin extracted from red blood cells, chemotherapy drug sorafenib, sensitizer ursolicacid and photosensitizer indocyanine green for enhanced chemo-photo combination therapy of hepatocellularcarcinoma, which could not only enhance the chemotherapy effect of sorafenib bowing to thesensitizing effect of ursolic acid, but also achieved synergetic phototherapy in virtue of indocyaninegreen. Besides, the nanoparticles could effectively delivery exogenous oxygen to tumor site and amelioratethe tumor hypoxic environment with the assistance of hemoglobin. The dual-sensitization drugdelivery system was expected to effectively reduce the resistance of traditional treatment methodsagainst tumor hypoxia, providing a novel prospect for the synergistic hepatocellular carcinomatreatment.

      • Down-regulation of miRNA-452 is Associated with Adriamycin-resistance in Breast Cancer Cells

        Adriamycin (ADR) is an important chemotherapeutic agent frequently used in treatment of breast cancer. However, resistance to ADR results in treatment failure in many patients. Recent studies have indicated that microRNAs (miRNAs) may play an important role in such drug-resistance. In the present study, microRNA-452 (miR-452) was found to be significantly down-regulated in adriamycin-resistant MCF-7 cells (MCF-7/ADR) compared with the parental MCF-7 cells by miRNA microarray and real-time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). MiR-452 mimics and inhibitors partially changed the adriamycin-resistance of breast cancer cells, as also confirmed by apoptosis assay. In exploring the potential mechanisms of miR-452 in the adriamycin-resistance of breast cancer cells, bioinformatics analysis, RT-qPCR and Western blotting showed that dysregulation of miR-452 played an important role in the acquired adriamycin-resistance of breast cancer, maybe at least in part via targeting insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R).
