      • Study on the Linkage Effect between China and South Korea Stock Market

Sun Jian quan,Sun Xiao lin,Chen Xiao long 한국유통과학회 2017 KODISA ICBE (International Conference on Business Vol.2017 No.-

As the trend of the world financial integration gradually strengthen, the research of the relationship between different stock markets mean a lot to improve the capital markets. The purpose of this article is to explore the linkage effect of market between China and South Korea. There is no evidence to prove that the five variables on behalf of the Chinese stock market have any relationship with KOSPI200 index by the granger causality test. There is no co-integration relationship between two markets by using co integration test to explore the long-term stable equilibrium relationship between China and South Korea stock markets. Therefore there is no significant relationship between China and South Korea market.

      • rs10505474 and rs7837328 at 8q24 Cumulatively Confer Risk of Prostate Cancer in Northern Han Chinese

        Zhang, Lin-Lin,Sun, Liang,Zhu, Xiao-Quan,Xu, Yong,Yang, Kuo,Yang, Fan,Yang, Yi-Ge,Chen, Guo-Qiang,Fu, Ji-Cheng,Zheng, Chen-Guang,Li, Ying,Mu, Xiao-Qiu,Shi, Xiao-Hong,Zhao, Fan,Wang, Fei,Yang, Ze,Wang, Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.7

Aims: Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified several risk variants for prostate cancer (pCa) mainly in Europeans, which need to be further verified in other racial groups. We selected six previously identified variants as candidates and to define the association with PCa in Northern Han Chinese. Methods: 749 subjects from Beijing and Tianjin in Northern China were included. Six variants (rs10505474, rs7837328, rs4242384, rs7813, rs486907 and rs1058205) were genotyped by high resolution melting (HRM) assays. The individual and cumulative contribution for of the risk of PCa and clinical covariates were analyzed. Results: Among the six candidate variants, onlyrs10505474, and rs7837328, both locating at 8q24 region, were associated with PCa in our population.rs10505474 (A) was associated with PCa ($OR_{recessive}=1.56$, p=0.006); and rs7837328 (A) was associated with PCa ($OR_{dominant}=1.38$, p=0.042/$OR_{recessive}=1.99$, p=0.003). Moreover, we observed a cumulative effects between them ($p_{trend}=2.58{\times}10^{-5}$). The joint population attributable risk showed the two variants might account for 71.85% of PCa risk. In addition, we found the homozygotes of rs10505474 (A) and rs7837328 (A) were associated with PCa clinical covariants (age at onset, tumor stage, respectively) ($p_{age}=0.046$, $P_{tumorstage}=0.048$). Conclusion: rs10505474 (A) and rs7387328 (A) at 8q24 are associated with PCa and cumulatively confer risk, suggesting the two variations could determine susceptibility to PCa in the Northern Chinese Han population.

      • IGF-1 from Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells Promotes Radioresistance of Breast Cancer Cells

        Yang, Hui-Ying,Qu, Rong-Mei,Lin, Xiao-Shan,Liu, Tong-Xin,Sun, Quan-Quan,Yang, Chun,Li, Xiao-Hong,Lu, Wei,Hu, Xiao-Fang,Dai, Jing-Xing,Yuan, Lin Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.23

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate effects of adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AMSCs) on radioresistance of breast cancer cells. Materials and Methods: MTT assays were used to detect any influence of AMSC supernatants on proliferation of breast cancer cells; cell migration assays were used to determine the effect of breast cancer cells on the recruitment of AMSCs; the cell survival fraction post-irradiation was assessed by clonogenic survival assay; ${\gamma}$-H2AX foci number post-irradiation was determined via fluorescence microscopy; and expression of IGF-1R was detected by Western blotting. Results: AMSC supernatants promoted proliferation and radioresistance of breast cancer cells. Breast cancer cells could recruit AMSCs, especially after irradiation. IGF-1 derived from AMSCs might be responsible for the radioresistance of breast cancer cells. Conclusions: Our results suggest that AMSCs in the tumor microenvironment may affect the outcome of radiotherapy for breast cancer in vitro.

Microscopic Mechanisms and Acoustic Emission Characteristics of Sandy Mudstone under Different Water Saturations

        Xiao-ming Sun,Fu-kun Shi,Ming-qun Zhu,Jia-xu Ding,Lin-sen He,Zhi-hu Li,Tong Zhang,Cheng-yu Miao 대한토목학회 2024 KSCE Journal of Civil Engineering Vol.28 No.1

In order to study the damage mechanism of surrounding rocks under water-rock coupling, an experimental study on the microscopic law of water absorption and mechanics of sandy mudstone was carried out in the sandy mudstone stratum of Wanfu coal mine in Shandong, China. The results indicate that the strength of sandy mudstone exhibits three stages of relative softening, rapid softening, and decelerated softening. The speed of water molecules entering the microscopic pore structure was analyzed based on the percentage of water molecules in the pore structure. The acoustic emission energy release process is divided into energy accumulation stage, stable release stage and intense release stage. With the increase of water content saturation,  (Spectral width of the multifractal spectrum) tends to decrease and the distribution of events is gradually uniform. The action of water gradually expands and penetrates the cracks and pores inside the sandy mudstone, which makes f (Frequency of occurrence of the signal) change from negative to positive values.

Effects of osmolytes on the refolding of recombinant <i>Pelodiscus sinensis</i> brain-type creatine kinase

        Sun, Xiao-Bao,Lim, Gyu Tae,Lee, Jinhyuk,Wan, Jia-Xin,Lin, Hai-Zhen,Yang, Jun-Mo,Wang, Qian,Park, Yong-Doo Elsevier 2018 PROCESS BIOCHEMISTRY Vol.68 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The protective effects of osmolytes on the renaturation of <I>Pelodiscus sinensis</I> brain-type creatine kinase (P-CKB) were determined in this study. The P-CKB gene was cloned and was heterologously expressed in <I>Escherichia coli</I> BL21 (DE3). The purified recombinant protein was subjected to 6 M urea denaturation and further applied with six different osmolytes (glycine, proline, sorbitol, DMSO, betaine, and trehalose). Our results demonstrated that the addition of glycine or DMSO could contribute toward the reactivation of unfolded P-CKB and prevent aggregation. Interestingly, 25 mM glycine was found to be the best concentration to reactivate denatured P-CKB, while high-concentration glycine led to the opposite effect as monitored by a red shift in the intrinsic fluorescence spectra and the aggregation of protein, which probably could be attributed to an additional inactive protein complex that formed during the fast refolding reaction. Docking simulation results showed the osmolyte docking energies to be relatively low and clustering groups were spread on the surface of P-CKB, indicating that osmolytes directly protected the surface of P-CKB. The results in this study could provide a better understanding of structural and functional changes in P-CKB during refolding in addition to the role of osmolytes in heterothermic animals.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Osmolytes protects the activity of <I>Pelodiscus sinensis</I> brain-type creatine kinase (P-CKB). </LI> <LI> The addition of glycine or DMSO could contribute the reactivation of P-CKB. </LI> <LI> Glycine or DMSO could prevent aggregation. </LI> <LI> Docking simulation results showed that osmolytes directly protected the surface of P-CKB. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Isoprenaline Induces Periostin Expression in Gastric Cancer

        Lin Chen,Guo-Xiao Liu,Hong-Qing Xi,Xiao-Yan Sun,Zhi-Jun Geng,Shao-Wei Yang,Yan-Jie Lu,Bo Wei 연세대학교의과대학 2016 Yonsei medical journal Vol.57 No.3

Purpose: Periostin mediates critical steps in gastric cancer and is involved in various signaling pathways. However, the roles of periostin in promoting gastric cancer metastasis are not clear. The aim of this study was to investigate the relevance between periostinexpression and gastric cancer progression and the role of stress-related hormones in the regulation of cancer development and progression. Materials and Methods: Normal, cancerous and metastatic gastric tissues were collected from patients diagnosed with advanced gastric cancer. The in vivo expression of periostin was evaluated by in situ hybridization and immunofluorescent staining. Meanwhile, human gastric adenocarcinoma cell lines MKN-45 and BGC-803 were used to detect the in vitro expression of periostin by using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and western blotting. Results: Periostin is expressed in the stroma of the primary gastric tumors and metastases, but not in normal gastric tissue. In addition,we observed that periostin is located mainly in pericryptal fibroblasts, but not in the tumor cells, and strongly correlated to the expression of α-smooth muscle actin (SMA). Furthermore, the distribution patterns of periostin were broader as the clinical staging of tumors progressed. We also identified a role of stress-related signaling in promoting cancer development and progression, and found that isoprenaline upregulated expression levels of periostin in gastric cancer cells. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the distribution pattern of periostin was broader as the clinical staging of the tumor progressedand found that isoprenaline upregulated expression levels of periostin in gastric cancer cells.

Numerical investigation on gypsum and ettringite formation in cement pastes subjected to sulfate attack

        Xiao-Bao Zuo,Jia-Lin Wang,Wei Sun,Hua Li,Guang-Ji Yin 사단법인 한국계산역학회 2017 Computers and Concrete, An International Journal Vol.19 No.1

This paper uses modelling and experiment to perform a quantitative analysis for the gypsum and ettringite formations in cement pastes subjected to sulfate attack. Firstly, based on Fick’s law and chemical reaction kinetics, a diffusion model of sulfate ions in cement pastes is proposed, and then the model of the gypsum and ettringite formations is established to analyze its contents in cement pastes with corrosion time. Secondly, the corrosion experiment of the specimens with cement pastes immersed into 2.5%, 5.0% and 10.0% Na2SO4 solutions are carried out, and by using XRD-Rietveld method, the phases of powder samples from the specimens are quantitatively analyzed to obtain the contents of gypsum and ettringite in different surface depth, solution concentration and corrosion time. Finally, the contents of gypsum and ettringite calculated by the models are compared with the results from the XRD experiments, and then the effects of surface depth, corrosion time and solution concentration on the gypsum and ettringite formations in cement pastes are discussed.

Species diversity and distribution of the genus Colpomenia (Scytosiphonaceae, Phaeophyceae) along the coast of China

        Xiao-Han Song,Zi-Min Hu,Zhong-Min Sun,Stefano G. A. Draisma,Pablo Fresia,De-Lin Duan 한국조류학회I 2019 ALGAE Vol.34 No.3

The marine brown algal genus Colpomenia has a worldwide distribution, with five species reported in Korea and Japan. However, no studies to date attempted to identify the number of species and geographical distribution of Colpomenia along Chinese coast. To fill the biodiversity knowledge gap, we analyzed 63 mitochondrial cox3 and 62 mitochondrial atp6 sequences of Colpomenia specimens collected from 30 localities along the Chinese coast. Maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference trees suggest the presence of at least three Colpomenia species (i.e., C. peregrina, C. claytoniae, and C. sinuosa) in China. C. peregrina and C. claytoniae are documented for the first time. C. sinuosa was only found in the South China Sea and its distribution didn’t overlap with that of C. peregrina which was found in the Yellow-Bohai Sea and the East China Sea. C. claytoniae appears to be confined to three isolated islands in the East and the South China Sea, where it occurs in sympatry with, respectively, C. peregrina and C. sinuosa. Future study can focus on comparing ecophysiological differences of Colpomenia species in response to environmental variables and exploring possible genetic hybridization / introgression at inter-specific contact zones.

Resistance Function of Rice Lipid Transfer Protein LTP110

( Xiao Chun Ge ),( Ji Chao Chen ),( Ning Li ),( Yi Lin ),( Chong Rong Sun ),( Kai Ming Cao ) 생화학분자생물학회 2003 BMB Reports Vol.36 No.6

Plant lipid transfer proteins (LTPs) are a class of proteins whose functions are still unknown. Some are proposed to have antimicrobial activities. To understand whether LTP110, a rice LTP that we previously identified from rice leaves, plays a role in the protection function against some serious rice pathogens, we investigated the antifungal and antibacterial properties of LTP110. A cDNA sequence, encoding the mature peptide of LTP110, was cloned into the Impact-CN prokaryotic expression system. The purified protein was used for an in vitro inhibition test against rice pathogens, Pyricularia oryzae and Xanthomonas oryzae. The results showed that LTP110 inhibited the germination of Pyricularia oryzae spores, and its inhibitory activity decreased in the presence of a divalent cation. This suggests that the antifungal activity is affected by ions in the media; LTP110 only slightly inhibited the growth of Xanthomonas oryzae. However, the addition of LTP110 to cultured Chinese hamster ovarian cells did not retard growth, suggesting that the toxicity of LTP110 is only restricted to some cell types. Its antimicrobial activity is potentially due to interactions between LTP and microbe-specific structures.

Cross-sectional geometry dependence of spontaneous phase transformation of copper nanowires

        Xiao-Yu Sun,Wen-Ping Wu,Xue-Lin Dong,Yuan-Jie Xu 한국물리학회 2015 Current Applied Physics Vol.15 No.3

Molecular dynamics simulations have been performed to investigate the spontaneous phase transformation of copper nanowires. It is found that the spontaneous phase transformation exhibits distinct dependence on the cross-sectional geometry of the nanowires and can lead to the reconstruction of atoms into different atomistic configurations, e.g., pure hexagonal-close-packed crystals, fivefold deformation twins, and core/shell structures. For single-crystal copper nanowires, the critical crosssectional size, above which no spontaneous phase transformation can occur, is determined. The physical mechanisms underlying the complicated transformation behavior are analyzed from the viewpoints of energy and stresses.
