        지역사회의 동물복지문화 증진을 위한 도그파크 계획 모형

        Korea's pet-related society has been fast growing without the base and preparations of socio-cultural animal welfare. For the most part, Korea's current public parks, in particular, have a space structure in which a lot of friction between the general public who are not fond of dogs and dog owners in public places has been happening unavoidably. A lot of countries that are taking a lead role in animal welfare have built dog parte that the general public and dogs can enjoy together. This research starts with the realization that the concept of 'dog park' needs to be introduced in Korea as more and more Koreans own dogs and other pets. This research aims to provide guidance for dog park planning by drawing a dog park planning model and to promote basics for co-existence of dogs and people in a park and set in place animal welfare early and raise the level of awareness. Total 7 types of dog put 56 planning items including dog zone, dog playground, and agility, and a selective matrix by which it is possible to select essential recommendatory optional items by each type of dog park were drawn in this research. Overall there were the highest needs in separated area for dogs in park. A dog park planning model is designed as follows. 1) To select a dog park type that was introduced. 2) To set up facilities applicable in common and planning items desired in advance by each type. 3) To zone dog park areas by the priority order of planning items that were introduced and to position necessary facilities. 4) To plan program that should be were introduced. A dog park was expected to take some positive roles such as providing opportunities to socialize dogs, activating social communities, more effective park management by participating local community members and so on.

      • 면역 부전 환자에서 병발한 급성 황색 포도상 구균에 의한 세균성 식도염 1예

        Bacterial esophagitis is an uncommon disease and has not been well characterized. Bacterial infection of the esophagus is usually presented as a superimposed infection upon a preexisting viral or fungal esophagitis and most patients are immunocompromised hosts. A 67-year-old man was admitted for retrosternal pain and hematemesis, who had a past history of long-standing diabetes mellitus and end stage renal disease, also had a history of steroid medication. Extensive esophageal ulcerations of the mucosa were visualized by endoscopy. Staphylococcus aureus grew in blood culture. After the 2 weeks of antibiotics treatment, he was successfully recovered without any sequelae. Due to its rarity, this case is herein reported with a review of the corresponding literature.         자판기 시스템 운영문제의 휴리스틱 해법 개발과 평가

        The operation of vending machine system presents a decision-making problem which consists of determining the product allocation to vending-machine storage compartments, replenishment intervals of vending machines, and vehicle routes, all of which have critical effects on system profit. Especially, it becomes more difficult to determine the operation variables optimally when demand for a product that is out-of-stock spills over to another product or is lost. In this paper, we propose a heuristic for solving the operation problem of the vending machine system and evaluate it by comparing with Yang’s algorithm on various test problems with respect to system profit via a computer simulation. The results of computational experiments show a substantial profit increase of the proposed heuristic over Yang’s algorithm. Sensitivity analysis indicates that some input variables impact the profit increase significantly.

      • 급성 백혈병 환자에서 발생한 감염 양상의 분석(1986~1992)

        Infection is a major complication and potentially life-threatening in patients with acute leukemia. The patients require prompt broad-spectrum antibiotics therapy when fever develops. One of the keys to successful patient management is the recognition of institutional trends of the spectrum of infections and infecting microorganisms. So we evaluated 138 patients with acute leukemia and blastic crisis of chronic myelogenous leukemia admitted to Seoul National University Hospital from July 1986 to June 1992. The results are following: 1) Total number of febrile episodes was 224 and 60% of them occurred after chemotherapy. 2) Microbiologically-defined infection, clinically-defined infection, and unexplained fever accounted for 28%, 45%, 27% of the febrile episodes respectively. 3) Fifty-eight percent of microbiologically-defined infections were caused by gram-negative bactria, and 36% were gram-positive bacteria. There was a tendency to a greater proportion of gram (+) organisms than that of the last study (p>0.1). Escherichia coli was the most common organism, and coagulase-negative staphylococci, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae were common in decreasing order. 4) Pneumonia was the most common type of infection, followed by skin and soft tissue infection, perianal infection, gingivitis and primary septicemia. 5) Seventy-two percent of total infections improved with therapy and this success rate was higher than that of the last study(p<0.001).

      • Corticosteroid의 全身投與가 멜라닌 및 멜라닌 細胞에 미치는 影響에 關한 實驗的 硏究

        The hormonal control of melanin formation in the skin has aroused the attention of research workers for many decades. It is now generally accepted that endocrine factors play an important role in melanogenesis in man and animals. It is uncertain whether systemic corticosteroids, especially synthetic corticosteroids such as prednisolone, have any effect on the melanogenesis or not. Studies regarding the influence of systemic corticosteroids on the effect of ultraviolet light in melanogenesis are found rarely. The present studies were undertaken to evaluate the effect of prednisolone on melanogenesis and the influence of prednisolon is the use of ultraviolet light as noted on the skin of external ears of colored rabbits. The author observed the changes of the skin color macroscopically and microscopically after the daily intramuscular injection of prednisolone (0.5㎎/㎏/body weight) and/or daily irradiation of ultraviolet light (wave length: 2537-3660 Å, lamp to target distance: 30㎝, exposure time: 5 minutes). To observe the microscopic findings, the skin biopsy specimens which were taken at 7 day intervals for 28 days were stained with DOPA, silver nitrate and hematoxylin-eosin respectively. The results were as follows: 1. There were no macroscopic or microscopic changes of melanin or melanocytes in the animals of the control group which had been injected with blind suspension daily for 28 days. 2. In the ultraviolet irradiated group did mild increments of melanin were noticed on the 7th day of the experiment. These increased moderately or prominently on the 14th day and on the 21st day. The degree of increments decreased thereafter. Enlargement of melanocytes was paralleled with the increase in increments of melanin. Proliferation of melanocytes was observed from mild to moderate degree until the 21st day of the experiment, but these decreased after that time. 3. In the prednisolone treated group increments of melanin appeared mildly on the 7th day of the experiment, but was not changed after that. There were no changes of melanocytes either in size or number. 4. In the prednisolons treated group with the additional irradiation by ultraviolet light mild increments of melanin were noted on the 7th day of the experiment. Moderate increments were present on the 14th day with no change until the final day of experiment. Moderate enlargement was noted in the case of the increments of melanin. There was no change in the number of melanocytes. Above results suggest that systemic application of prednisolone has no effect on the synthesis of melanin and inhibit the effect of irradiation of ultraviolet light.

      • 우리나라 소아에서의 β- Lactamase 산생 Escherichia의 장관내 존재

        In order to evaluate the possibility that facal E. coli might serve as a reservoir of β-lactamases for Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, or other members of the Family Enterbacteriaceae, 135 fecal E. coli isolates from Korean children uder two years of age were tested for resistance to ampicillin (??) and for β-lactamases activity. ?? was found in 115(85%) strains of E. coli tested. Of the 115 ?? E. coli, 87(76%) were β-lactamases producers. High rates of ?? and β-lactamases activity were found uniformly in various pathogenic types of E. coli. Our observations raise questions concerning the importance of fecal E. coli in the prevalance of β-lactamase producing bacteria in the community. Fecal E. coli of Korean children may be important in the epidemiology of β-lactamases producing pathogens in humans.

      • 제주도의 귀화식물에 관한 재검토

        This study was conducted to know about the distribution of naturalized plants growing in Jejudo. A field survey and flora lists of relevant literatures were also investigated. The results obtained from this study were as follows: 1. Definition of naturalized plants was determined in this study as “non-native species in Korea which have been introduced anthropogenically or naturally and can reproduce and survive in wild habitats by themselves.” 2. It was suggested that the number of naturalized plants in Jejudo were 31 families, 110 genera, 183 taxa including 174 species, 9 varieties. Family Compositae and Gramineae covered 23% and 15% of naturalized plants, respectively. 3. The number of naturalized plants in Jejudo were 183 taxa : 96 taxa in the whole south Korea, 37 taxa in the southern part of Korea, 13 taxa in the central part of Korea, and 36 taxa only in Jeju.
