        李重煥의 生涯와 『擇里志』의 成立

        The purpose of this study is to elucidate Jung-Hwan Lee's life and the process of completing book, Taekriji(擇里志, A classical cultural geography of the Korean settlement). The conclusion of the study is summarized as follows. 1. Jung-Hwan Lee's career can be divided into two periods, before and after the time when he was involved in Sinimoksa)(辛壬獄事, party strife in Sinchuk year( 1721) and Imin year(1722)) and banished to a distant island. Coming of the Lees of Yeoju, one of noble families, he had talent for poetry and prose in his childhood. At the early age of 24, he passed Kwago(科擧, the highest-level state examination to recruit ranking officials during Josun Dynasty) and began government service. During the service, he formed and led a circle of literary men. With In-Bok Lee and Kwang-un O, he played an important role in a progressive group in Namin, one of political parties in the Josun Dynasty. Meanwhile, Jung-Hwan Lee had an interest in geomancy from his twenties and explored the mountains in Gyeonggi-do, Hwanghae-do, and Chungcheong-do to find a good graveyard for several months with a geomancer, Ho-Ryong Mok. His friendship with Ho-Ryong Mok, which was considered as conspiracy against the king, caused him to be arrested and tried as suspect. His survey expenence of various places with Ho-Ryong Mok as well as excellent talent for poetry and prose can be said to be an important basis of his writing Taekriji later. The latter half of Jung-Hwan Lee's life was the time of frustration and adversity, for about 30 years when he lost his government position, retired from the world, and led a wandering life. Although struggling with adversity, he left a masterpiece of Taekriji through exploring the whole country. He explored 6 Provinces in Josun personally except Jeonra-do. His personal exploration made him "have a sharp eye for geographical phenomena". Through his exploring the whole country, Jung-Hwan Lee found a new Taekriji. 2. Ik Lee, Seong-Kwan Mok, Hoe-Kyeong Mok, Bong-Hwan Lee, and Eon-Yu Jeong who wrote prefaces and epilogues to Taekrij were Jung-Hwan Lee's contemporaries. Closely related by mamage, they had a similar appreciative eye for things, and in addition, all of them suffered from a party strife directly or indirectly except Eon-Yu Jeong. That's why they understood each other and had the consciousness of kind. Ik Lee, a cousin of jung-Hwan Lee's grandfather, was his senior in the family and academic stay. Jung-Hwan Lee frequently corresponded with him. Seong-Kwan Mok was a nephew of jung-Hwan Lee's wife, and Hoe- Kyeong Mok was the person who wrote down the achievements of Cheon-Im Mok, jung-Hwan's brother-in-law and Seong-Kwan Mok's life history. Bong-Hwan Lee could have been jung-I-Iwan Lee's cousin, but became his distant relative since his father, Yeon-Hyu had been adopted. jung-I-Iwan Lee's grandmother was a daughter of Man-I-Iwa jeong, one of the jeongs of Dongrae, who came from the same family as Eon-Yu Jeong. Those who wrote prefaces and epilogues to Taekriji were jung-Hwan Lee's relatives as above. 3. Five persons who wrote prefaces and epilogues helped Taeknji be known to the world, but Ik Lee played a distinguished part. It is considered that writing Taekriji began at least after April of the 25th year of king Y oungjo (1749). Taekriji is believed to have been completed in a relatively short time and at the last phase of jung-Hwan Lee's life. Prefaces and epilogues to Taekriji were written sometime between the 28th year of king Youngjo (1752) and the 29th year of king Youngjo (1753). Accordingly, we may say Taekriji is had been completed by that time. However, there are two views of what year "the beginning of early summer in Baekyang year" in the epilogue written by jung-Hwan Lee himself means: some believe it is Sinmi year and others Gapsul year.       • Light-extraction efficiency control in AlGaN-based deep-ultraviolet flip-chip light-emitting diodes: a comparison to InGaN-based visible flip-chip light-emitting diodes.

        <P>We study light-extraction efficiency (LEE) of AlGaN-based deep-ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (DUV-LEDs) using flip-chip (FC) devices with varied thickness in remaining sapphire substrate by experimental output power measurement and computational methods using 3-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (3D-FDTD) and Monte Carlo ray-tracing simulations. Light-output power of DUV-FCLEDs compared at a current of 20 mA increases with thicker sapphire, showing higher LEE for an LED with 250-관m-thick sapphire by ~39% than that with 100-관m-thick sapphire. In contrast, LEEs of visible FCLEDs show only marginal improvement with increasing sapphire thickness, that is, ~6% improvement for an LED with 250-관m-thick sapphire. 3D-FDTD simulation reveals a mechanism of enhanced light extraction with various sidewall roughness and thickness in sapphire substrates. Ray tracing simulation examines the light propagation behavior of DUV-FCLED structures. The enhanced output power and higher LEE strongly depends on the sidewall roughness of the sapphire substrate rather than thickness itself. The thickness starts playing a role only when the sapphire sidewalls become rough. The roughened surface of sapphire sidewall during chip-separation process is critical for TM-polarized photons from AlGaN quantum wells to escape in lateral directions before they are absorbed by p-GaN and Au-metal. Furthermore, the ray tracing results show a reasonably good agreement with the experimental result of the LEE.</P>

The purpose of this study is development of posture evaluation and Range of Motion(ROM) system by using digital vision analysis method. The results of this study are as follows. First, Scoliosis evaluation through this research measurement system represent 3mm error in 7 cervical point and deepest lumbar point, 0.7mm error in other point. This mean this research measurement system have a reliability for scoliosis evaluation. Second, for spine line evaluation on high fat subject, we need reconstrection spine line after mesurement for fat thickness in 7 cervical point and deepest lumbar point. Third, In pedioscope error test, it present 0.01848cm in X axis and 0.01757cm in Y axis. This results mean pedioscope have a reliability foot evaluation. Forth, Posture evaluation and Range of Motion measurement system by using digital vision analysis method can fast measure in range of motion and foot evaluation and posture. therefore we can expect this system application in young people posture clinic center and hospital and so on.

        1960∼1970년대 유사역사학의 식민사학 프레임 창조와 그 확산

        Pseudohistory in Korea originated in the colonial era. Turanism was an ideology introduced into Korea in the era. Influenced by it, Choy Dong published _The Ancient history of Korean Peoples(조선상고민족사)_ in 1966. It is common practice to stimulate a nationalism by capitalizing on a mythology in the initial stage of a modern nation. Turanism was an ideology manipulated for nationalism as well. Turanism was propagated to colonial Joseon by Japanese army colonel Kaneko Teiichi. Turanism was an ideological base of the ‘Pan-Asiatic Society’. During the colonial era, Joseon was subordinate to Japan, the main agent. The perspective shifted when Korea had been liberated; Japan is located in the position being subordinate to the main agent Korea. Choy was in a pro-Japanese group. Moon Jeong-chang, also in the group, was greatly influenced by Choy. Moon criticized that Korean historical academia imitate the approach that Japanese historians of Japanese Empire had formulated. The criticism was chiefly concentrated on Lee Byung-do, most famous historian at the period. The content of it was predominantly inaccurate and construed maliciously. An Ho-sang, served as the first minister of education of Korea, was one of the public figures influenced by Moon. An and Moon organized ‘Finding National History Counsil(국사찾기협의회)’ and utilized a monthly journal _Ja-yu_ as an organ. They persistently had capitalized _Ja-yu_ on criticizing that Korean historians are deferring to the historiography of colonialism, a Japanese imperial view of the history. In 1974, ‘the national history textbook(국정 국사 교과서)’ was published. Pseudohistorians reprehended it intensely. They assumed that they could indoctrinate general citizens if ‘the national history textbook’ is stated in their opinion. Their opinion corresponded with a nationalistic president Park Chung-hee regime. Some of the books published from ROK army headquarters had included a pseudohistorical view as well. In consequence of continuous activities of pseudohistorians, general citizens have a misapprehension of them having succeeded a national history of the colonial era. Korean historians have to eliminate this misapprehension. Breaking a ‘Korean historical academia= historiography of colonialism’ formula, a frame invented by pseudohistorians, would be its first step.

        사상체질류형(四象體質類型)과 체격(體格) 및 신체형태지수(身體形態指數)와의 비교연구(比較硏究) - 도시(都市)와 농촌(農村)의 일부지역(一部地域) 남녀고등학교(男女高等學校) 3학년(學年) 학생(學生)을 대상(對象)으로 -

        673 third-year students of boy's and girl's high schools in Taegu city and Kuni-gun and Youngyang-gun and Euisung-gun in Kyongbuk province were selected and investigated as the subject, of this study on the correlation between Lee Jae Ma's Four Types of Essential Physical Constitution and Physical Form index. The result of the study was found as follows. First, as for Height, the findings were not identical with the expression that "person of shaoyin(minor Yin) Type are short and small -- while person of Taiyin (major Yin) Type are tall and big," cited in classification of four different constitutions in a document named "Dong-Eu-Su-Se-Bo-Won". Comparison of persons of Shaoyang (minor Yang) - Type proved infitness due to the lack of data on Height in documents concerning Lee Jae Ma's four types of essential physical constitution. Second, as for Sitting Height, the correlation was prored between the findings of this study and the expression in the above document describing external physical characteristics of shaoyin-Type persons that "The upper part and' the lower part of the body are well balanced", but in point of Relative Sitting Height, none between the two. Third, as for Chest-Girth and Relative Chest-Girth plus Weight and Relative Weight, the expression that "Persons of Taiyin(major Yin) Type have the largest physique of the lour types of persons in the characteristics of external physical features, and that they also tend to have continental(widechest or large-scaled) character and strong nerve, that they are stoutly-built and fal." proved to have the correlation with the findings of this study. Fourth, in point of Chest-Girth and Relative Chest-Girth, this study found that its findings have the correlation with the phrase that "Chests are well developed upwar -- and sturdy and solid." in describing the characteristics of Shaoyang (minor Yang)-Type person' external physical features, and that with the phrase that "Chests are narrow" in the case of Shaoyin(minor Yin)-Type persons. Fifth, as for Weight and Relative Weight, the correlation was found between the findings and the expression that "shaoyin-Type persons have comparatively less flesh" as a sign of external physical characteristics of Shaoyin-Type persons. The above-cited findings proved that there exist some correlations between external physique of the Lee Jae Ma's four types of essential constitution and physical Form Indexes. Actually, however, in clinical classification, it is desirable that this approach should be consulted only after carefull consideration based on Lee Jae Ma's theory, and it seems imperative to continue the study of objectivization of Lee's theory.

        In recent years, gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common STDs in the world, especially in developing countries. For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and assessing the prevalence of Penicillinase Producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae(PPNG), we have been trying to study the patients who have visited the Venereal Disease Clinic of Choong-Ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by menas of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. In 1998, 93 strians of N. genorrhoeae were isolated, among which 60(64.5%) were PPNG. The prevalence of PPNG in Seoul, which had been decreased to 39% in 1996 after a peak of 74.3% in 1993, is increased to 64.5% in 1998.

      • Performance of electrochemical double layer capacitors using highly porous activated carbons prepared from beer lees

        Beer lees precursor is chosen to prepare activated carbons having different physical and chemical properties. The beer lees-based activated carbons (BL-ACs) are characterized by N<SUB>2</SUB> adsorption/desorption isotherms, adsorption energy distributions (AEDs), and X-ray photoelectric spectroscopy (XPS). Furthermore the electrochemical properties of the BL-ACs are assessed using cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and constant current charge/discharge method. The maximum specific capacitance (about 188F/g at discharge current of lmA/cm<SUP>2</SUP>) is obtained in 0.1M H<SUB>2</SUB>SO<SUB>4</SUB> electrolyte solution, which is a relatively low electrolyte concentration. The overall results suggest that the BL-ACs are good candidates for EDLC electrode materials.

      • Membrane-Free Stem Cell Components Inhibit Interleukin-1α-Stimulated Inflammation and Cartilage Degradation in vitro and in vivo: A Rat Model of Osteoarthritis

        <P>Membrane-free stem cell components (MFSCC) from basal adipose tissue-derived stem cells (ADSCs) are unknown for the treatment strategies in osteoarthritis (OA). OA has been considered to be associated with inflammatory damage and cartilage degradation. In this study, we intended to investigate the molecular mechanism of the anti-inflammation and cartilage protection effect of MFSCC in vitro (rat primary chondrocytes) and in vivo (rat OA model). The MFSCC treatment significantly inhibited interleukin-1α (IL-1α) stimulated inflammation and cartilage degradation. The MFSCC considerably reduced the levels of inflammatory factors such as iNOS, COX-2, NO, and PGE2 and was suppressed NF-κB and MAPKs signaling pathways in IL-1α-stimulated rat chondrocytes. Additionally, biomarkers of OA such as MMP-9, COMP, and CTX-II decreased in the monosodium iodoacetate (MIA)-induced rat OA model by MFSCC treatment. In conclusion, the MFSCC was established to suppress IL-1α induced inflammation and cartilage degradation in vitro and in vivo. These findings provide new insight for understanding OA therapy using membrane-free stem cell approaches.</P>

        Correlation Between Constituent Phase and Weld Metal Properties in Ni-Reduced Duplex Stainless Steel

        The intrinsic properties of austenite and ferrite on the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the duplex stainlesssteel weld metals was studied by substituting Ni with Mn, N, and Mn + N. The properties of the weldments fabricated throughgas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) were evaluated using tensile test, Vickers hardness, and potentiodynamic polarizationtests. The mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the constituent phases were measured using nanoindentationand electron probe microanalysis, respectively. The austenite and ferrite phase fractions of the weld metal were maintainedat approximately 50:50, and no harmful phases degraded the properties. Excessive Mn decreased the corrosion resistance; alarge difference in corrosion resistance between austenite and ferrite also decreased the overall corrosion resistance. In thefiller metal in which Ni was replaced with only Mn or N, the austenite became harder than ferrite, as a result cracks initiatedinside the austenite. The tensile test showed that austenite, which became a relatively hard phase compared to ferrite accordingto the chemical composition, increased the yield strength and decreased the elongation of the weld metal.

        만성 신부전을 동반한 Laurence Moon-Bardet Biedl 증후군 1례

        The Laurence Moon-Bardet Biedl syndrome is characterized by obesity, mental retardation, visual impairment with retinitis pigmentosa, polydactyly, hypogonadism and renal manifestations. We experienced an 11 years old female with Laurence Moon-Baret Biedl syndrome associated chronic renal failure. She was diagnosed to have LMB syndrom according to the clinical manifestations of polydactyly on hands and feet, mental retardation, obesity, retinitis pigmentosa and chronic renal failure. She is on maintenance hemodialysis now.
