위장관은 악성 림프종이 가장 흔히 침범하는 림프절 외 장기이지만, 원발성 소장 악성림프종이 비교적 드물게 발생한다. 장중첩증은 장 림프종의 드문 징후이며, 다양한 영상 검사에 의하여 진단된다. 저자들은 회장 장중첩증에 의해 우연히 발견된 림프종의 예를 보고하는 바이다. 조직학적 소견은 미만성 대 B 세포의 악성 림프종이였고, 중증도의 미만성 대비분열성세포이였다. 환자는 수술적인 절제술과 항암요법을 시행하였고 15개월간 재발이 없는 상태로 추적 관찰 중이다. Although the gastrointestinal tract is one of the most frequent sites of extranodal malignant lymphoma, the occurrence of primary small intestinal lymphoma is relatively uncommon. The intussusception is a rare presenting sign of intestinal lymphoma, and diagnosed by various imaging studies. We report on a case of the lymphoma on ileum manifested by ileo-ileal intussusception. Pathologic type was malignant lymphoma with diffuse large B cell (REAL classification), intermediate grade, diffuse large noncleaved cell (Working formulation). The patient received surgical resection and combined chemotherapy and doing well for 15 months.

In asthma, T helper 2 (TH2)-type cytokines such as interleukin (IL)-4, IL-5, and IL-13 are produced by activated CD4+ T cells. Dendritic cells played an important role in determining the fate of na?ve T cells into either TH1 or TH2 cells. We determined whether RG-II regulates the TH1/TH2 immune response by using an ovalbumin-induced murine model of asthma. RG-II reduced IL-4 production but increased interferon- gamma production, and inhibited GATA-3 gene expression. RG-II also inhibited asthmatic reactions including an increase in the number of eosinophils in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid, an increase in inflammatory cell infiltration in lung tissues, airway luminal narrowing, and airway hyperresponsiveness. This study provides evidence that RG-II plays a critical role in ameliorating the pathogenic process of asthmatic inflammation in mice. These findings provide new insights into the immunotherapeutic role of RG-II in terms of its effects in a murine model of asthma. [BMB reports 2012; 45(2): 79-84].

This study is to supply the data for nurse management and nursing productivity through analyzing the personal and group empowerment level of nurses. A monitoring material which has 50 items was designed and tested by the selected 62 nurses working at 5 university hospitals and 1 personal university located Kyong-In area. As a result, the empowerment of nurses was proved to be not so high, thus the nurses in the hospital need an extended continuous education to improve personal empowerment even after graduation. Further researches are necessary to generalize the measurement tool, for example, by increasing test numbers and by extending test groups such as students, professors and other areas of nurses.

In view of the effect of antithrombin III on essential hypertension, we investigated the 5' untranslated exon 1 length (I/D) polymorphism and intron 5'-DdeI RFLP of the human antithrombin Ⅲ gene in the Korean patients with essential hypertension. There were no significant differences in the allele, genotype and haplotype frequencies of these polymorphisms between normotensive and essential hypertensive subjects. The significant linkage disequilibrium was however, detected between I/D polymorphism and Dde I RFLP. The I/D polymorphism was also significantly associated with BMI, total cholesterol (TC) and HDLcholesterol levels, while DdeI polymorphism with age and BMI. Therefore, our results suggest that the significant association between the genetic polymorphisms in the antithrombin Ⅲ gene and variable cardiovascular risk factors may reflect the potential role of human antithrombin Ⅲ gene in cardiovascular function.
Thermal Effect on Characteristics of IZTO Thin Films Deposited by Pulsed DC Magnetron Sputtering

This study examined In-Zn-Sn-O (IZTO) films deposited on glass substrates by pulsed DC magnetron sputtering with various substrate temperatures. The structural, electrical, optical properties were analyzed. Xray diffraction showed that the IZTO films prepared at temperatures > $150^{\circ}C$ were crystalline which adversely affected the electrical properties. Amorphous IZTO films prepared at $100^{\circ}C$ showed the best properties, such as a low resistivity, high transmittance, figure of merit, and high work function of $4.07{\times}10^{-4}\;{\Omega}$, 85%, $10.57{\times}10^{-3}\;{\Omega}^{-1}$, and 5.37 eV, respectively. This suggests that amorphous IZTO films deposited at relatively low substrate temperatures ($100^{\circ}C$) are suitable for electrode applications, such as OLEDs as a substitute for conventional crystallized ITO films.
포말부유선광법에 의한 유연탄 비산회의 미연탄소분 제거연구

Experimental results shawcd lhat tlle rcjectlon oI the unburned-cubon of thc raw fly-ash sample is available upto 92.4% using fiath flotalian and that the putity ol the pmdud(c1eancd fly-ash) attains up to 99.4%. 국내 석탄발전소에서 배출되고 있는 비산회의 재활용에 가장 큰 문제점은 비산화에 혼입되어 있는 미연탄소분이다. 본 연구는 기존 포말부유선광법으로 유연탄비산회의 미연탄소분을 제거할 때 기포제종류 및 첨가량의 영향, 포집제 첨가량의 영향을 실험하고, 여기에서 수율, 회수율, 미연분제거율, 공정효율을 구하였다. 또한 비산회정제 전후의 화학적 성분을 분석하여 성분변화를 확인하였다. 실험결과는 유연탄 비산회 중의 미연탄소분을 92.4%까지 제거할 수 있었으며, 그 결과 비산회의 순도를 99.4%까지 높일 수 있었다.

Parkinson's disease (PD) progresses severely by a gradual loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra (SN). Epidemiological studies showed that the incidences of PD were reduced by smoking of which the major component, nicotine might be neuroprotective. But the function of nicotine, which might suppress the incidences of PD, is still unknown. Fortunately, recently it was reported that a glial reaction and inflammatory processes might participate in a selective loss of dopaminergic neurons in the SN. The levels of tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-${\alpha}$ synthesised by astrocytes and microglia are elevated in striatum and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in PD. TNF-${\alpha}$ kills the cultured dopaminergic neurons through the apoptosis mechanism. TNF-${\alpha}$ release from glial cells may mediate progression of nigral degeneration in PD. Nicotine pretreatment considerably decreases microglial activation with significant reduction of TNF-${\alpha}$ mRNA expression and TNF-${\alpha}$ release induced by lipopholysaccharide (LPS) stimulation. Thus, this study was intended to explore the role of nicotine pretreatment to inhibit the expressions of TNF-${\alpha}$ mRNA in human fetal astrocytes (HFA) stimulated with IL-$1{\beta}$. The results are as follows: HFA were pretreated with 0.1, 1, and $10{\mu}g/mL$ of nicotine and then stimulated with IL-$1{\beta}$ (100 pg/mL) for 2h. The inhibitory effect of nicotine on expressions of TNF-${\alpha}$ mRNA in HFA with pretreated $0.1{\mu}g/mL$ of nicotine was first noted at 8hr, and the inhibitory effect was maximal at 12 h. The inhibitory effect at $1{\mu}g/mL$ of nicotine was inhibited maximal at 24 h. Cytotoxic effects of nicotine were noted above $10{\mu}g/mL$ of nicotine. Moreover, Nicotine at 0.1, 1 and $10{\mu}g/mL$concentrations significantly inhibited IL-$1{\beta}$-induced TF-${\kappa}B$ activation. Collectively, these results indicate that in activated HFA, nicotine may inhibit the expression of TNF-${\alpha}$ mRNA through the pathway which suppresses the NF-${\kappa}B$ activation. This study suggests that nicotine might be neuroprotective to dopaminergic neurons in the SN and reduce the incidences of PD.
